Like Journey, Survivor is another band that is performing with a rather young guy as the lead singer. The 21-year-old guy was a bit of a hoot on stage, but I preferred his rendition of long held Survivor classics better than the guy who is doing Steve Perry-classic songs from Journey these days. The seats we had couldn't really be any closer, maybe 15 feet from the stage. Barely had to use the zoom on my camera for shots.

Great venue, but the rains kept the majority of the crowd away. Had more security, venders and attendants than concert gowers. To bad the rain stopped after the opening act and turned ourt to be a nice night. had never seen Survivor before, so that was a treat although the band drowned out the singer which might not have been a shame. He did not have the pipes of either of the original singers so wa not blown away overall. Instrumentally the bad was very good.

I had a great time at the Music Festival. Me, my wife, my sister, and her two friends all made it to the show and we all had a fantastic time despite the weather. The weather improved in time when Survivor started and they were awesome too. Both bands sound just like they did 20 years ago. I wish there was a bigger turn-out for the Foundation because I want to see this event continue to make it back to Ashburn year after year. Keep bringing the awesome bands and I am looking forward to seeing America next week!!

I really like this venue and have seen some good shows there. Unfortunately, Survivor was not one of them. They were not engaged with the audience, not speaking to us except to exhort us to clap more. No band members introduced. Sound was rather poor, especially with the lead guitar cutting off. Some songs were ok, but they didn't play "Is This Love" which is my absolute favorite Survivor song, so a great disappointment not to hear. They played exactly one hour. I am used to casino shows being short, but this one takes the cake. Walking out, I passed a woman still sitting who was saying "Is that it?" That about sums it up.

Like going to a bar and listening to a band playing Survivor songs! And it only lasted 50 minutes and didn't play all the songs. No introduces at all! Not worth the $

The show was pretty good even though the only remaining member was the guitar player, I was told. The new lead vocal was a young guy from Nashville and nailed it! Several songs I wasn't aware that they did which was nice. My reason for not recommending this is the show was only 1 hour long.

The Survivor concert on March 10th was a huge disappointment. Besides the original guitarist (and he was GREAT), who were they? The lead vocalist had a good voice, but was very immature and stage manners were lacking; no introductions of band members or background information that would let the crowd know how long they have been performing as "Survivor", where they are from, etc. An HOUR CONCERT? Most of the time, the band was trying to get the crowd to keep clapping, cheering, and wasting time between songs. It was obvious the band had only enough material to fill less than the hour. After the "Eye of the Tiger" they left the stage and that was it. The crowed left, rather stunned and comments in the lobby were negative, at best, and was filled with unhappy concert patrons. I would not recommend wasting your time or money on this version of "Survivor."

The band was very good and sounded great but the guitar player looked pissed off the whole time and kept changing out his guitar to a new one multiple times and looked like a two year old that wasn't getting thier way. It was very distracting. The concert was literally less than an hour long with no encore. They just played the last song and walked off the stage. No thank you for coming, nothing. We actually couldn't believe the concert was really over. It was the biggest waste of 62.50 a ticket I have ever spent. WASTE OF MONEY!!!!! They should have played longer!!!. A complete and total rip off.

The venue as nice and intimate and will go see other concerts there. While we enjoyed the Survivor concert, the concert was exactly 60 minutes!! And NO encore was even possible due to the house lights coming on immediately and stage crew started clearing the set. WOW!! Really a disappointment. Vocals were top notch. Lead singer is great. Energy level and audience engagement needs to be taken up a few notches.

I have no plans to ever attend a concert at Skagit Casino again. The concert started at 8:05 and was done by 9:05. The venue was a banquet room filled with rows of chairs crammed in tight. It was a sad venue and a forgettable show.

We had a great time. Survivor sounded awesome, all the guys sounded great and was obvious they love performing, very passionate about their music. The venue was not so large that you were lost, we could hear everyone's comments and excitement, it made it more fun! We were about nine rows back very good seats. I really don't think you could have a bad seat in there.

I went in knowing that most of the band were new people so I wasn't expecting it to sound like the original Survivor. I was surprised and pleased at how close it actually was. The lead singer has a great voice. They were very entertaining and didn't disappoint.

Survivor spent the entire show interacting with the audience, playing great music and reminding us why we love this band. The interaction was genuine and included Frankie Sullivan (lead guitar) walking in and among the audience during his solo. The new singer Cameron Barton has the same sound as we remember. The band deserves our applause, interaction and attention because they stand up and deliver the hits.

My memory of survivor is forever destroyed. The band was horrible.... barely could even be considered a cover band. The only member of the original ban was the guitarist. He played an obnoxious 10+ minute guitar solo that was just ridiculous. We felt misled as it said the venue was choctaw... but it's the one in Grant so we actually went to the wrong place at first and had to drive another hour. Their versions of their famous songs were sub par. Save your money and remember the band the way they were.

Absolutely a fantastic show. If you want the "real" sound of Survivor, then don't miss a show opportunity from this band. They deliver.... the vocals and band sound amazing. I am a huge 80's music fan and was blown away at this show. (Salisbury MA - Oct 23 2016). Yes a must see... I hope they tour with Foreigner or Journey in the near future! All these bands have new lead singers that "make it happen" just a s good, if not better that the original lead vocals!

The overall venue was awesome the Genesee Theater is absolutely beautiful. A Flock of Seagulls was pretty good. John Waite was pretty awesome. And of course I love Survivor but I was very disappointed in all the breaks if they kept taking. They started off the show with two of their most popular hits While most of the people were still going to the restroom, outside smoking, buying merchandise and I actually even in there to hear the two songs. They took two very long breaks that I can remember which I didn't understand because the lead singer is very young and I just couldn't understand why he needed to take such a long break. Still love the band Survivor but not sure if I want to see you again if they were going to have the same lineup and taking so many breaks. I will have to say that I still love their music and the lead singer sounds amazing!

I am not a fan of opening acts or Flock of Seagulls but they were rock solid. I am now. John Waite rocked the roof off. Pity that he only played 11 songs. He should have headlined. Survivor was ok but failed to recapture past glory or deliver at the level FOS or Waite did. The venue is great and has a lot of quality shows: check it out.

There was no Dave Bickler in this performance as he was replaced a few weeks ago by the founding guitarist (who have a say on the band now) with a young pretty boy who tried to sing and sound like the original but was not even close.

I do not think I would attend another concert at this venue, this was my first time and more than likely my last. The room is simply too small to have the music cranked up at outdoor amphitheater strength! The concert(s) would have been much enjoyable with the sound level down to a more reasonable level. The music was so loud during the Survivor portion of the concert that you could barely hear the singer....and don't get me wrong I like my music "turned up" as much as the other guy, but this is a small, closed in venue and the sound should have been adjusted accordingly.

Saw both these individuals for the first time at Ho-Chunk Casino. Lita Ford: Doesn't quite have the vocal ability she had in her prime. When you butcher the song that made you famous, it doesn't bode well for a good rating. She is entertaining and a rocker, however vocal ability is definitely lacking. Survivor: If you want to watch an 80's cover band, this is what Survivor is today. Only 1 remaining original member (Frankie Sullivan), and a lead singer that wasn't close to be being born yet when Survivor was in its prime (he's 21 years old). The lead singer did well and they did play a few of their popular hits, however it would have been great to hear more of what made them famous. In all, you get what you pay for. I would not pay more than $40 for this concert as it's not worth the price of admission. Anything less...I would consider it cheap entertainment!

Flew almost 750 miles, rented a car, drove another 20 miles, rented a hotel room, stood in line just to go and see Survivor. Spent close to $1000 bucks to do this trip. Got to sit in a huge Tent, in a tiny chair that was zip tied to the next chair, pay $5 for a 8 oz bottle of water and listen to the band sing about 7-9 songs and was done and over with in a little over an hour with only a few of their hits being played and an instrumental and a 38-Special song . No Encore. New Lead Singer did an amazing job, he seems like he not sure of himself and kept looking at Frankie for approval... but once hes got his confidence he will be running the stage and the show.... If Frankie will let him!

First time seeing this band live in concert but certainly remember them from my younger days. It appeared that three of the five were from the original band. The two new players were lead singer Cameron, 21 years of age, and Walter, who played some awesome keyboards and also guitar. I later ran into Cameron and Billy who was also on guitar in the coffee shop at the hotel where they had played their show. That's how I found out Cameron's age! He was an awesome lead singer for a young person his age and really carried out all of their best songs. I would definitely see them again if they came to Minneapolis (I saw them in Las Vegas).

I didn't know but 2 songs, wish they would have sang more of their mainstream selections...lead singer voice was very good, but a little loud (acoustics) for the venue. It would be nice if the people who help you find them know where they are going tho, we had to be reseated because where we were told to sit were not our seats.

It was really nice to see David Bickler and Jim Jamison on the same stage. Even though it has been over 30 years the music and vocals were dead on. Venue and show were exceptional! All staff members were extremely friendly and very helpful. survivor was Wonderful and played all their hits just like how they all sounded back in the day and tjey also played a few other songs either I did not remember or they might have been new but they were good too. Concert lasted about 1 1/2 hrs which was great. I was skeptical purchasing floor seats from my past experiences many years ago at different venues, once you are on the floor you had to join in with the other crowd members because everyone stood. At this venue yes, a few people did stand who were sitting in first, second and maybe the third row but that did not block our view at all. And yes, we too stood up for our most favorite songs as well. Most people ended up sitting down after awhile. The one and only complaint I had and many others agreed, it was very cold so bring a jacket or sweater.

Sorry to say that it looks as if one of my favorite all-time groups has hit the end of the line. I'm not sure which was worse, the musicianship or the sound mix. It didn't sound like they even did a sound check because the instruments drowned out the vocalists. Anybody who knew the songlist instantly could tell that the keyboardist was off, the drummer was a basher playing way too loud, and the extended guitar solos were a way to fill a 90-minute set without taxing their vocals. Also, the lead guitarist appeared to be high, chewing gum, and inaudibly speaking about their storied past. As a musician who takes pride in wherever I perform, I find groups that show up for a last payday offensive. I have written to your booking agent to please look into booking Toto. Now, there's an '80's group that can still play, blending clear/metered sound and musicianship. Please look into it. Toto is touring the U.S.

All and all the Survivor show was pretty good. It appeared that there should have been a better job done on the sound check as there were issues with clarity as well as not all voices were audible at the start of the show although it got better as time went on. Content was good and for the most part musicianship was on the mark. There were a few missed notes heard from the lead guitar at times throughout the night.

Survivor sounded tight, but the sound guy sucked. I hope he wasn't their guy. They have two singers and he couldn't get the right mic turned on at the right time. Also, the keyboard player would come out and play some guitar and it seemed like he couldn't get his guitar up in the mix. Is he even a fan? Do you use a guy who has no clue about the set list?

It was better than I expected really, and the opening act rocked even though I didn't know who they were before then. The venue, Penn's Peak is spectacular. Perched on top of a mountain, the panoramic view from up top is breathtaking. The building itself is like a large wooden barn; inside are two levels with plenty of room and a friendly atmosphere. Opening act was The Pat Travers Band. One of the first things Pat said Sunday night, was that they were gonna kick our asses. Well, they sho 'nuf did. You want loud and hard rock & roll...you got it. A solid set fronted by a man who has paid his dues and still has the nerve to apparently love what he's doing. Highlights included "Boom Boom...Out Go The Lights", which had a lot of crowd participation and "Snortin' Whiskey." After a terrific set, Pat & the boys had a fine Meet & Greet session with the assembled troops at Penn's Peak. Nice touch. Next up, Survivor. Sunday night was the fourth show of this tour, which has lead vocalist Jimi Jamison fronting the band once again. Opening the show with "Can't Give It Up," a nice surprise off the Too Hot To Sleep album. Second song in...must be time to throw in one of the hits: "Broken Promises," one of those songs which never fails to deliver the goods. Jamison and lead guitarist Frankie Sullivan both seemed relaxed...easily falling into a familiar rhythm, the payoff of doing years of live shows together. "High on You" ...another crowd favorite was up next, followed by three songs which were not recorded by Jamison, but by original lead singer Dave Bickler. "Poor Man's Son," "Take You On A Saturday," and a gem version of "Summer Nights."... all from the 1981 album Premonition. Jumping back into a Jamison era song, "Desperate Dreams" off Too Hot To Sleep, is a lyrically haunting song from the Peterik-Sullivan catalog. "Two souls drawn to the fire in desperate dreams Two hearts lost to desire's desperate schemes One girl lost in a reverie Lost love found in a memory Those nights live on forever Two fools lost in a desperate dream" The next song was a tasty treat to be sure. 38 Special had a #1 hit with "Rockin' Into The Night." Jim Peterik (former Survivor member and Sullivan's long-time writing partner) and Frankie Sullivan were two of the writers of that song. The crowd was pretty pumped up by this time, so this rocker was just throwing "a little gasoline on the fire." Back to the hits: "The Search is Over," "I Can't Hold Back," and "Burning Heart"...how can you argue with the set choices there. Another oldie from the pre-Jamison days "Somewhere in America" gave way to the finale, no surprise there... "Eye of the Tiger." As the song approaches its 30th anniversary, it has become more than an anthem...for many people it has become their mission statement, Survivor: Drums: Marc Droubay has been with the band, well almost forever. Never missing a beat, his talent lies in complimenting the rest of the band and not overpowering it. As strong as ever. Bass: Billy Ozzello is not a wallflower type bassist. A wild man with long flowing hair, his get-in-your face bass provided a huge dose of solid work and a lot of energy. Keyboards/Guitar: Walter Tolentino is one nice surprise. Multi-talents and a great stage presence, boy it sure seemed like he had fun. Lead Guitar: Frankie Sullivan works hard, real hard. Watching just how hard he worked got me a little exhausted to tell you the truth. And all the hard work pays off. He's damn good. Something which might go unnoticed is just how well his voice backs up Jamison's. He fills in all the right places, creating a perfect blend. Lead Vocals: Jimi Jamison, well that's the voice now isn't it? He is so acutely aware of his vocal abilities, it's scary. Still a master of the stage, throw in the still-strong vocals and you have one of the best singers to ever front a rock band. This was a top to bottom fun show. The band is tight, talented and relaxed. With their music catalog, the choice of set list must be tough. At some point, would love to see them try something to knock the socks off the crowd...something like an acoustic set or letting Jimi back up Frankie on a song or two. It's early in the tour, hopefully they will continue to play nice together and record some new music. The evening was definitely worth the road trip. A night to meet up with friends who like us, drove in from some distance and spent the night enjoying two old-school rock bands still ready, willing and able to "kick our asses." ...and that's how you do it son.

John Parr started the night with an acoustic set. He's a very likable guy with good stories. The audience responded well to him. Starship came on next. The sound was not clean. It sounded somewhat muffled. Their set, however, was excellent. They did tunes from the entire Jefferson Airplane to Starship catalog. Mickey's vocals were perfect. He sounded just like in the '80s. The girl singing the Grace Slick parts was very good. I was very much looking forward to Survivor and their set was good, but far too short...10 songs I believe. There was no oncore and the crowd clearly wanted more.

What a show! John Parr opens with an acoustical set, Starship follows with songs that span the history of the band and Survivor wraps things up with Eye of the Tiger. I was most impressed with Starship. Their performance encompassed the Jefferson Starship years and they delivered the goods.

I brought my 10- and 11-year-old kids to this since they've become big fans of "St. Elmo's Fire" and Survivor's biggest hits. Even watched Rocky III—you know: "Eye of the Tiger"—the afternoon of the concert to set the mood. The kids knew next to nothing about Starship other than they sing "We Built This City," which they like. But while we came mostly for Survivor, it was Paar and Starship that we left talking about. Paar set a great mood with a stripped-down, personal set where he thanked everyone for coming, acknowledged where he was—even worked Allen into a song he said he wrote backstage for the occasion—and talked about his life since his '80s success and the story behind "St. Elmo's Fire." And the guy can play a mean guitar, though it struck me as a little over the top at times. But all in all, he set a great mood for the evening. Starship was fun. I wasn't sure how far back in their catalog they'd go, but there was a reason the white-haired folks were in the crowd, and they weren't disappointed. After playing some of their lesser Eighties hits, they worked their way back to the '70s and then to a medley of their Sixties hits. The young woman singing for Grace Slick did a fine job, albeit without Slick's throatiness, and had a nice chemistry with Mickey Thomas. Thomas had a nice banter with the crowd, which was clearly into it. Our kids were introduced to their first encore when the band wrapped up I believe with "Nothing's Gonna Stop Us Now," then came back to do "We Built This City." Showmanship, without going over the top. Survivor was exactly the opposite, and should take a lesson. For one, the personal element was almost nonexistent. Jamison talked to the audience and his band mates, but in an inside, detached kind of way, joking about never knowing where they were and thanking everyone in a general way. It was not at all clear whether he even knew what city they were in. There was no talking about the songs, or the road travelled—nothing to personalize the experience. They came out playing and didn't stop for three songs, a little banter between themselves, and then another two or three. They could have been anywhere. Also, the theatrics were overzealous. Almost every song was treated like a finale, lengthened into a metalfest with theatrical playing. Even my kids recognized it was over the top, comparing it to Marty McFly's overzealousness at the end of "Johnny B. Goode." None of this was helped by the mixing, which cranked up the guitars and bass so much they drowned out signature riffs to the songs. "Eye of the Tiger" was barely recognizable after the second guitar kicked in, and Jamison's voice, which to his credit sounds virtually unchanged and seems as strong as ever, was almost lost. I really wanted to like it all, but I was disappointed. Some of my very favorite songs from the Eighties were by Survivor—even my *kids* like them—but it was playing them in iTunes later that got us into them again. My suggestion to the band would be this: Strip it down. Your songs sound great because of the precision of the studio performances. They're clean and powerful. The bloated mix and melodramatic performances take away from that. This was my first visit to the Allen Event Center. It's a nice facility and the employees all friendly. Looking forward to visiting again.

The show opened with John Parr and he put on a very good show. Starship entertained and had the crowd up and dancing. Survivor stole the show with their fast paced and high energy performance. A very fun night at the Allen Events Center.

John Parr and Starship were amazing! Mickey Thomas sounded as good as he did in the 80's. Survivor was too loud and the back up vocals were mediocre at best. Would have paid to just see Starship and John Parr.

Fantastic show! Awesome price and an excellent value for the show. The presentation and showmanship was extravagant. Top notch show. One of the best features of the show was standing up close and seeing the performers!

Both Starship and Survivor were excellent. They rocked the night. The county fair was an excellent venue too. We really like the VIP treatment (section).
