Googoosh & Ebi

Googoosh and Ebi were both amazing. however people came really late so they started the show an hour late. Googoosh seemed a little hurt from people for coming late which I absolutely understand because I wasn't performing but I was mad that people weren't coming in the salon. However I also felt that the pressure of the concert was mostly on googoosh. I have been to alot of googoosh's concerts and her every concert has been very organized and on time and her performance was always amazing. I went to they're both Mandala bay and Honda center concert. Honda center was amazing. everything was fabulous and seeing the two legends together was really emotional. but in both concerts I liked googoosh's performance better. I hope that she'll have a solo concert soon. googoosh is always on top of her game

Walnut Street Theatre's Fancy Nancy, the Musical

I took my seven year old daughter to see Fancy Nancy. It was only an hour long, which is great for young kids. The moral of the story was basically how to handle disappointment when Nancy doesn't get the role she wanted. Her Mom helps her deal with her feelings. Very cute play.

My wife &I have attended several of these shows , Best yet. Did not need MC, just as good without one. Shirley Alston Reeves, Great, She still has her pipes. Little Anthony and the Imperials Loved the original members, new fellows were a great addition. Bobby Rydell was a super headliner, especially liked singing Wildwood days during the show and at the end again. The Du-Wop group was a nice addition, a few of their songs were familiar, a few not so much. Overall- Excellent. See you next year.

The last time I saw Mineral play live was in 1997 at Coney Island High. CIH is now a sushi & noodle restaurant. Mineral is still emo. The hiatus did very little in reducing the emotional connection I have to their songs from a time when I was in my early twenties to now being middle aged. Chris Simpson's voice is still majestic. The rest of the band can still bring it. Hopefully this leads to some new music.

Frankly, the DSP-Chicago concert is the worst concert we have attended. It is at best a mix of karaoke singing and record dancing type, completely amateurish live performance. High School kids here would do much better than what DSP and his group has performed. We love DSP songs and we certainly believe that DSP is one of the best contemporary Telugu music directors, of course not in the league of Ilayaraja or AR Rehman. But, we expected a decent live musical concert from him, not amateurish singing to pre-recorded tracks. Everybody can see that the few musicians standing on the stage were not playing any music, they were just pretending to show that they were playing the instruments. The background music was played from CD/music players, and the singers were doing some-kind of Karaoke singing. It was a total waste of our time and money, completely disappointed. Please, some of the organizers should tell DSP that he should do what is he is best at (play music), and not try to do what he is not good at (dancing and talking), he may be thinking that he is Michael Jackson or Prabhu Deva, is he?

These guys have mastered the art of putting on a show. The grooves are tight, all of the intricacies are preserved and performed with frenetic passion. Originally a trio, this unit tours with a fourth member to bring their hot tracks to life. These guys are all very charming as well.

The Angie Haze Project

This was the second time we saw The Angie Haze Project and we plan to see them every chance we get! These are 'musicians' musicians'...heartfelt music played with heart! They're a joy to watch as well as to listen to. Their vibe is a wonderful blend of folk, funk, sentiment, mixed in with thoughtful lyrics sung in Angie's ethereally pure voice. I love seeing them in intimate venues because you are so drawn in to her music. She plays many instruments in her show, sometimes all at the same time. Her guitar playing is aggressive, sort of flamenco-like, giving it that 'gypsy' feel. The upright bass player is as passionate about his playing as Angie is, and so is the cellist. The drummer is laid-back cool..and they all play flawlessly together. They did have a guest playing with them at the Akron Civic..one of the reasons the word 'project' is included in their band name. You never know who might guest perform with them!
