This is the second Feist concert I've seen in the last 10 years and of course she still wowed me! The only disappointment was the last minute change in start time which was an hour and a half later than her original start time. I was coming from an hour and a half away and was already half way there when I received the email about the new time. I also brought my sister-in-law who had a baby 5mths before and this was her first time out! Not a great way to kick off a 3 night set of shows.

Feist performance was an unmistakably genuine Canadian experience; I was overcome with homesickness half way through. She had the audience slow dancing, choral singing, singing along, and altogether enjoying themselves. New album is lovely. Favorite song is Any Party, and it was made unforgettably better live.

She was very warm and approachable. At one point someone jumped on stage and danced with her and then kissed her on the cheek. Later a 100 or more people came up on stage and surrounded her, dancing. She asked them to sit for "story time" and sang a softer song to a young kid and his mother. (I'm sure the kid didn't understand that the song was a warning about future relationships. Sorry I don't remember the song's title.) I have seen her before and will see her again.

Enjoyed the music. Could have done without the 35 minute wait in between Chili Gonzalez and her appearing on stage. The spotlights shining into the crowd were way too bright.

I think the concert was great. She was interactive with the crowd. She was funny, mocking herself. The backup band (moutain man) did a song on theres whaich was fun. At the end she invited people up on stage, it was fun

Feist was great. Her performance definitely exceeded my expectations. I had a great time. Her voice is beautiful in person and I didn't realized she played so much guitar. For to to sing that well and play lead on most of the songs is talent. I would definitely recommend seeing her if you're a Feist fan.

From the cracked cel-phone display as a background image to a few slightly improved versions that were color tinted and taken from different angles -- to the 1930's-style drabbest cotton clothing that quietly spoke 'poverty' draped on the 3 backup singers who had beautiful voices -- to the awesome base drummers who, despite their excellent percussion talents, drowned out the angelic voice of Feist and throbbed in my head to the point I could hardly hear the awesome voice we came to hear- -- to the utter lack of actual performance (what happened to those fab Apple commercial choreographied wonderfulness she used to do?!), I honestly would rather have been on the ferry boat chatting with a friend.

Played mostly new album which we did not like. very airy and grim as my friend described it. 4 of us went and we all left after 6 songs b/c we were falling asleep. Feist should learn to play the songs that made her famous. She did play on of her hits but it was a version that could hardly be recognized as a song. Feist is clearly full of herself as a song writer now and just does whatever she wants. a very boring, theatrical wispy performance. Stay Home Instead!!!

Had been waiting for a new album and to see Feist live for the past 4 years. Loved the new album but was even more blown away by the live performance. Leslie's voice is outstanding. The show was a blast and she even threw in a few older songs with brand new twists. She had me wanting more even after the double encore!

I loved everything about this show. Feist always devotes attention to her staging and to the experience as a whole. she had cameras on her and the band/backup singers at different points in the show which projected a video experience that reminded me of the old pre-music videos of the 60's. She played almost all of her new album Metals and the older material she did was re-imagined with different rhythms so they seemed fresh and new. She ended the evening with an acoustic version of Intuition from The Reminder and it was a beautiful way to bid farewell. Feist surrounds herself with a wonderful ensemble group to create one of the most memorable nites of music I have experienced.

I've loved Feist from the moment I first heard her. But after seeing her live I've developed quite a rock star crush on her. Actually she came across really accessible and humble and it was an awesome show. I will go see her every time she's in town. Chili Rodríguez is my new musical hero!

Her live performance is awesome and different from the recordings. I like her rougher, more distorted sound in a couple of songs that gave them a new dimension. She engages the audience and makes it feel natural and fresh. Definitely worthwhile

Feist and her fabulous band, including the magical Mountain Man singers, took the Metals material to unimagined heights. Feist's interactions with the audience, inviting people onstage and leading sing-alongs, added a spontaneous feeling to the Feist-fest. Fantastic!

I have been listening to Feist for 5-6 years and wasn't able to go to her concerts when she's in Dallas. Now, she finally comes back and I was able to go! Her voice is so angelic in real life. I wish she could of sing more of the old songs she is know for such as 1234, One Evening, etc.

FEIST created a beautiful tapestry with her magical musings. So much musical synergy combining to create an other worldly and spiritual experience. The tempo of her words and passionate whimsicalness was Heavenly. Loved the intermingling of Metals and earlier albums. One item completed on my bucket list.

The Happiness Project and Feist both put on excellent shows. However, there was one slight to serious hindrance that kept me from really enjoying the show, which I will explicate in the following paragraph. I don't think Feist, great performer that she is, understands mass psychology. After her first song, she enjoined the audience to check out the idea of standing up, for just a second. Perhaps her punk rock past made her think this was the right and cool thing to do at the moment. And for a few minutes it was neat. Unfortunately, The Majestic has sloped floors, given that it actually has seating, which makes it difficult to stand up for longer than a few minutes, unless you are half of the truly annoying and inconsiderate crowd (yuppies and hipsters!) who attended this show. For these privileged few, it doesn't matter who you are blocking! Feist wants you to stand up. It doesn't matter if after the second song, she rescinded her original offer, noting that people sitting down may not be able to see. Regardless, much of the crowd continued to stand up through most of the show. Even towards the end of the show after almost everyone had sat back down (FINALLY!) there were two people on different levels still standing up. I wondered what it must be like to sit behind those people, knowing that everyone else finally had a decent view of the show, but the schmoe in front of you does not care at all. Now, I don't want to seem an old fogey, here. I may have reached the wizened perspective of an ancient man of 24, but I am still a regular patron of house shows and the like. However, I took my even ancienter father to this show, so it was quite awkward standing up while he was sitting down. Old people don't like to watch a show standing up. Also, the seats were just too expensive for me to rationalize standing up the whole time...I mean it just seems silly to stand up at a show at the Majestic. Did I mention the sloped floors? Explication thus concluded, I shall now venture to my conclusion. Ultimately, I cannot blame the crowd. It's a crowd! They operate off crowd psychology, which rates slightly below that of sheep. Not to mention the inordinance of yuppies and hipsters. I conclude that the show could have been way better had Feist not suggested that the crowd stand up. Everything else was absolutely great though.

I was not a fan of Feist when I saw tickets for sale on LiveNation. I had just heard of her 1-2-3-4-5 song and knew that I always take the opportunity to see shows at the church-turned-venue. Plus, my boyfriend had never had the pleasure of seeing a show there. Show was scheduled to start at 7 pm but dinner ran long and my boyfriend and I didn't make it to the doors until 9:30. I heard the muffled sounds of the only feist song I knew, and asked the ticket scanner if this was the end of the show. To my lucky surprise he told us that she had just come on about 30 min prior. So, we hurriedly flashed our I.D.s scanned our tickets and ran in. I'm guessing she had had two hours of opening bands play before she took the stage, but I don't know who they might have been. And I have found that through other tickets I've bought through livenation I can never seem to find full lineups. Something I wish was more accessible. Beers inside were about 22oz and cost $10. (crazy stupid expensive for one drink, so we never made it to any liquor). The bottom stage-level floor was packed so we ascended and grabbed two seats until she finished the song. It was my boyfriend's first time at the Tabernacle and I wanted to show him the freedom and versatility that characterizes this venue. Unfortunately, the cool and comfortable upper level was blocked off for some reason. Oh well. Overall however, the sound was exceptional, I'm a fan of Feist and Mountain Man. The Tabernacle could charge a little less for drinks, but I hope to come back for many shows. Best venue in Atlanta.

Not only was the set Feist provided creative and new, it was evident that she cared very much about our enjoyment. She even cam back out by herself after a full encore to do an intimate acoustic number. Her voice was flawless and she didn't skip a beat even when we all experienced monitor feedback twice. That was the first time in 50 shows that I have ever heard feedback at the Tabernacle. Feist will leave you emotional cleansed and inspired to meet the challenges of our own lives.

First off, even though the seats weren't great, Feist's amazing performance made it all worth it. Her songs sound even better live than they do on the album, and she was energetic and funny, even involving the audience in her performances!! The opening act, Timber Timbre was regrettable. Any song that talks about decaying flesh or whatever, I can do without. Also, creepy animal sounds belong in a haunted house, not Radio City Music Hall. It was a looong hour. But Feist was really cool, and the songs were beautiful and well-performed. Given a better opening act, and a better view, I'd be over the moon!

I've been to too many shows to count and have had the opportunity to see acts from across the board. Feist hands down, no question put on one of the most incredible shows ever. No fuss, no muss, just pure musicianship at it's finest. She sounded flawless and beyond that, was able to turn an iconic venue like Radio City into a living room jam session. I've never witness a performer more open and welcoming to their audience. She is a class act all around and has musical chops that put the majority of "pop stars" to shame. Go see Feist!!!!

Too bad she copped an attitude due to poor turnout. Didn't play '123'. Repeatedly talked about how the Raleigh show was having a bad day at work. Without a doubt, the worst concert I've ever attended. Ms. Feist has a lovely voice, but really sold her fans short that night.

Leslie Feist has an incredible stage presence, and her voice sounds even better live than on her already excellent sounding albums. The staff at House of Blues treated me like a leper. After getting there early and surviving the gauntlet outside where security decides to let you in when they so desire, I arrived upstairs, ordered a beer and sat in one of the hundred or so empty seats. In less than two minutes I was told to leave the seat as it was reserved. I asked politely if I could sit there until someone came and then I'd gladly leave as I knew my ticket said SRO. No, that wasn't possible. I continued to sit for a minute or two until another "guard" came over and told me I was getting to be a problem. For these people to be so rude and to wield their assumed power so blithely and easily is a shock and an insult. I won't be going to House of Blues again. It's for sheep.

This show one of the best live performances I have seen. Feist is truly an amazing performer and artist! I could not believe the vocal and instrumental arrangements. Not to mention how awesome her three backing singers were. Also, Feist's sense of humor was refreshing. The opener Low Anthem was also very impressive, some songs dragged a little but the made up for it in musicianship. She is just good at what she does. Creative, honest, beautiful voice, on and on... The show was really really great. She had an entire band on the stage but wasn't consumed by it. She's good at putting everyone in a great mood and getting involved. She pulled a huge group of people on stage and asked that more people come down to the front by "bum rushing the ushers". The Orange Peel venue (which was changed from Thomas Wolfe auditorium) was up close and personal, and no one should have gone away from this concert disappointed. Feist's unique and evocative voice is even better in person; she goes from hard rocking to mellow without missing a trick. If you're a Feist fan (or just like good music that defies categorization), seeing her live is a must. The opening band, Timber Timbre, was also good, with an interesting mix of deep bass sounds, slide guitar and violin.

Feist must have had an off night when she came to perform at Raleigh...she really did not seem to want to be there. In between her songs, she would talk about how she felt all alone even though she was in a room full of people, and she complained about how singing in Raleigh was a "waste of time" (direct quote). Her songs and voice are beautiful, but I was really surprised and dissapointed by her sarcasm and negativity on stage, enough to where I probably won't pay to see her again. It probably doesn't help that Raleigh Progress Energy Center was a terrible place for her act. Despite spending a lot of money on assigned seating, everyone surged to the front of the theater like it was an outdoor concert, to where no one could see unless they were standing the whole time. I saw several people leave when that happened, and I don't blame them. Next time, just hold it outdoors at Walnut Pavilion...

Great event from music standpoint but 2.5 hr wait for main act was a bit killer esp in the wet grass even drinking beer and chillin w friends (1.0 + hour after opening band was done playing). You may want to rethink folks standing up in lawn area since folks get there early , lay out a blanket w great view, high five each other only to have someone show up 5 mins prior to start time and stand in front of you since they didn't have a plan and didn't care who they stood in front of. First time to A & E but if website explained any of this (ie: Doors pen at 7:00 but opening act doesn't start til 8:30, ) it would of made for a better night - we weren't the only ones stating these main gripes/whines.

For my first visit to the Strathmore center I was at first impressed by the size, cleanliness, and professionals running the event. But to keep this a short review and cut straight to the point, the sound man had quite a bit of trouble throughout the show. From the intial lack of ANY vocals to recurrent feedback, to the crowd begging the guy running the board for more vocals later on in the show, it was just riddled with technical deficiencies. I'm not saying it was a flop. As I stated in the title, Leslie was able to carry on with complete grace and sounded magnificent. I would go to any of her shows whether at a struggling venue or a top-notch location. I'm not even typically into her poppy-jazzy-folksy style, but her voice and creativity are very remarkable and the band is certainly worth a listen.

I've been a fan of Feist since her first album. When "Metals" came out, I bought it eagerly, but was a bit confused. It was clearly a good album that was a product of a lot of thought and care, but for some reason, it just felt a little overcomplicated. I couldn't get deeply into the music. Seeing her in concert was nothing short of a revelation. She is an unbelievable performer, who takes her music and develops it into something original, stirring, and truly revelatory. Songs I had heard on the CD turned into creations of instruments, backups, and most clearly Feist's voice, which rose above the symphony behind her to transcend any arrangement I had ever heard. Old songs, such as Mushaboom, took on a slightly, I'll call it resentful for lack of a better word, cast completely foreign to the original. The entire audience was wowed. Feist is a true performer, who can customize and interpret songs to express the complicated and genuine emotions she feels and wants to express to the audience. I am honored to have heard her perform.

For being such a small venue her sound level was set for the target center. She tried to be funny and interact with the audience but she didn't seem to have much of a personality. I think she was over priced and was somewhat boring.

Hands down best live show I've ever seen live! Feist and her back up band were completely amazing. Her voice was perfection and her energy and interaction with the crowd made it an unforgettable and thoroughly enjoyable show. She even invited a large group of fans on stage to join her for a dance party. Her music is great but seeing it live is a whole new experience.

I cannot tell you how amazing Feist was. Her voice blew me away, it was so ethereal and surreal that she surpassed all my expectations (that were set ridiculously high). Her setlist was outstanding - incorporating just the right amount of new songs with old and the fact that she came out for a second encore was unreal. I will never miss a Feist show. She is truly the best musician I have ever seen live.

I saw Feist in 2006 at Ramshead Live in baltimore and loved her show. I kept checking to see when she might tour out my way again and was thrilled to find her at the Strathmore. I bought my ticket early, and ended up on the floor row H out on the side. The night was frustrating because I could not hear Feist . The drums came through and some of her guitar but her vocals were obscured. When several of us independently called out to turn her up, she chided us for not being nice! It seemed that much of the audience could not hear her as they were not singing along much, a distinct contrast to her performance at Ramshead. I left after 40 minutes when it becme apparent her sound crew was not going to bring her mike up and the evening would be spent straining to hear her beautiful voice. I sat at the back of the auditorium for a couple minutes to make sure the audio was not better there, but found it was not. The saving grace of the evening was i could buy Feist The Reminder on vinyl!

Over the years I have attended shows where the artists has been 'off' or 'obtuse' or suffering through a 'bad moment'. At this show, Feist and her band were impeccable in terms of their musicianship and showmanship, but Feist's between song banter was distracting and not entirely complementary to the performance. My impression is that she was taken aback by the less-than-full house audience but it was hard for me to tell. The bottom line was that Feist came across as if she were bothered by something related to the show or her visit to Raleigh in general. I've seen more than a few great performers side track a show to the point of distraction or simply cratering--a Joe Jackson and a couple Bob Dylan shows come to mind. So the show was 'okay' but might have been a lot better if Feist explained herself a bit better or simply contained her emotions and between song banter.

Feist was Amamazing! I bought the tickets to the show not knowing who she was or what she sang, but it turned out she was a true performer. She really got the crowd going and we had a real good time. And the venue; Radio City Music Hall, really completed the night. So plush!

Amazing Feist show at Radio City. Even though people stood for long stretches of the show, the venue's assigned seating helped keep the craziness to a minimum. Radio City's acoustics were set perfectly for her rich voice. And to boot, she's charming and has a good sense of humor.

I wasn't overly excited to go to the show. I was looking forward to it, but I wasn't expecting it to blow my mind. But it did. And it was awesome. Recordings of Lesley's voice don't even begin to do it justice. There are so many layers and textures that she effortlessly pulls off that the recordings don't pick up in all their glory. Hearing her live really made me appreciate the music more and I'm a HUGE fan of her work. If you have the chance to go see her, SEIZE IT. A big shout out goes to Mountain Man...they were amazing as well, and far more than just "back up" vocalists. If you haven't checked out their stuff and you're a fan of Feist....do it!

I think the title says it all... but apparently my review is too short so I'm writing another sentence.

"Enchanting" is a word I rarely use, as is "riveting;" but Leslie Feist is both. She nearly disguises the transcendence of her music with an engaging stage presence and elegantly down-to-earth aura. Finding a unique combination of pop, rock, blues, jazz, and folk, this gifted artist surprises with startling twists and turns throughout each of her original musical vehicles. Her band---three excellent, disciplined musicians--are strapped, wrapped and surrounded by various instruments. They never intrude--or solo (!), but instead dedicate themselves to a rigorously rehearsed and carefully crafted presentation. They are joined by a sweet trio of female vocalists, named "Mountain Man," who pipe supporting harmonies that range from the gorgeously angelic to the tragically other-worldly. These are all elements that set off her greatest gift-- her voice. She is the Ella Fitzgerald / Sarah Vaughn of pop/rock. Her deeply expressive vocals are capable of so many rhythmically-driven textures and timbres that each register seems to be her very best. Enormously gifted, she is able to use her vocal expertise with a pervasive improvisational element that gives listeners the sense that they are hearing each song performed for the very first time.
