Between The Buried And Me

Between The Buried And Me

Tommy Rogers - Vocals/Keys Paul Waggoner - Guitar  Dan Briggs - Bass   Dustie Waring - Guitar   Blake Richardson - DrumsThe men of Between the Buried and Me have once again charted an expedition into undiscovered country. Colors, BTBAM's fifth and newest release, is a continuous, sonic labyrinth of savage metal, lush prog-rock and uninhibited emotion. Matching the brilliance of Pink Floyd, King Crimson, Tool and Mastodon, they show how a band can create music that is crushingly haunting and technically challenging all at once. "It's the ultimate Between the Buried and Me record," says vocalist Tommy Rogers.

I've seen BTBAM five times and Animals as Leaders at least six times. They both always put on an amazing show and perform flawlessly. This is the first time either of them have had great lights. It seems that most venues have good sound these days but house lights tend to lack, plus, if they aren't programmed well, it leaves a lot to be desired. This tour brought multiple moving head lights and they choreographed perfectly with the performances.

BTBAM is one of my favorite bands. I never expected them to play in Maine and as soon as I found out they were, I purchased tickets. Their live performance did not disappoint, but I didn't expect them to. The stage lights and overall set-up gave visual appeal and awesome photos. It was everything you want in a metal show.

An amazing experience that should be witnessed by any fan of Between the Buried and Me. A general admission ticket got me straight to the front of the stage and it was an incredible show all the way through. The opening bands (Scale the Summit, The Devin Townsend Project, Cynic) were very good choices for the tour and performed amazingly. But BTBAM was the obvious main event. The song choices were great and being close to the stage was an amazing way to see the show. It was a bit hectic, but I suppose that comes with the intensity of the music. In short, if you're a fan of BTBAM and they're coming to a town near you, go to the show. It's definitely worth the money and it's a blast to see this incredible band play live.

This was a really great show, all bands were excellent. The only problem I have is that the sets were pretty short. Cynic played like 6 songs, and BTBAM played like 7 or 8. Other than that is was awesome.

This show was amazing! My expectations were blown! I did not expect BTBAM to be that good. I am so glad I went. The only downside was the being pushed to the back just because i didn't want to mosh, even though i should have. The music was great though. 2 of the 3 opening bands were very good. The other was strange and too loud. I would definatly go see BTBAM again. Also HOB is an excellent venue.

They played the best parts of their new album, and a few favorites from Colors, and older albums. Combined with amazing opening acts, and The White Walls Encore, this was an amazing show, just a testament to how BTBAM manages to top themselves constantly.

Never been to Purgatory before. I've seen BTBAM twice In Hell, and they are same as always. The opener, Scale the Summit, was fantastic, and the other two bands also put on a good show. As always, these shows are always a blast to see, but I personally cannot stand most of the people in the audience, whether they are moshing or dumb annoying little girls that don't know what they are talking about.

Scale the Summit started the show by performing an amazing talented instrumental group of songs-every time i watch this kids they seem to get better. What can you say about Cynic but positively one of the best bands to watch live with superbs musicians and songs extremelly melodic. Perhaps the only negative part of this show is the short time given for this two bands to perform.

Excellent show, a lot of energy from BTBAM. However the other three bands lacked energy or presence on the stage which made the wait that much more unbearable. Within the start of the first song BTBAM played they formed an immediate connection with their audience. Very enjoyable.

This show was one of the best I've ever seen. At points during BTBAM's set, I thought the floor of the Masquerade would break beneath our feet. They played an amazing set list and the band received tremendous response after every song, and it was well deserved. They played an amazing show, and I couldn't have asked for a better one. The opening acts were great as well. Scale The Summit played great, and literally flawlessly, The Devin Townsend Project had some technical difficulties with backing tracks, but Devin Townsend, keeping his great stage presence and composure, ended up asking the audience if they minded him playing with the click track. The audience got a kick out of the click in the background while Devin Townsend announced that he would "never forget this night as long as he lived". Cynic was great as well, but BTBAM stole the show a thousand times over. Tommy also told us that every time he's come back to Atlanta, the crowd has gotten bigger and better. I found out later that the show had sold out which made the experience that much more amazing.

The show was very well put together. The three opening acts did a great job of warming up the crowd before BTBAM got on stage, despite technical difficulties. (Devin Townsend's ambient noises track machine broke so he had to play his final song with a neverending clickwheel track) The first two acts were ridiculously loud, but by the the time Cynic arrived on stage, the volume issue had been settled. BTBAM Had a fierce energry with the crowd and they rocked every minute of stage time. They played beautifully and sounded better than their albums. It's definately a concert worth seeing twice.

It was so refreshing seeing a band take risks. I saw BTBAM several years ago, and it's amazing how polished they have become. I enjoyed how they mixed up their songs by using piano interludes, actual singing, and screaming into a megaphone. The only bad point about the show was this: louder is not always better. Maybe it's part of rock show psychology that the headlining band plays the loudest? I felt there was some vocal elements missing (or overcome) by the loud guitars. Overall, it was a great show. There was moshing, crowd surfing and head banging. Isn't that what metal is all about?

I'd never heard of Good Tiger, but they were amazing. The music was fantastic and the lead singer has a killer voice! I'm a vocalist and have my own music show on our local cable network, and I was seriously impressed. I made sure to tell him he killed it. August Burns Red was phenomenal as usual. I usually don't prefer music that has all screaming, but they brought talent and dynamics. And heavy Christian bands always have a place in my heart. BUT... Between the Buried and Me was by far the worst band I've ever seen... And I've been to many concerts and music festivals. They had no dynamics, the lead vocalist was horrendous, and the music was less than impressive. They were so off key, it literally hurt my ears (side note: it wasn't the heaviness. I LOVE Slipknot, for example) My friend and I left after the first couple songs because it was so bad. As far as the venue, Stage AE rocks, and I will definitely recommend it to fellow music artists! Not too small, but small enough to be an intimate venue where you can connect with the artists. Keep it going!

This was my first concert inside Stage AE. I saw A Perfect Circle outdoors. That being said I've never been so close to a band with general admission. I'm cheap and don't buy expensive tickets. The sound setup was amazing for such a small venue. I mostly went to see August Burns Red but I like Between the Buried and Me. Both bands were unbelievably talented. It felt like I was listening to a recording that's how good they were. The opening act, Good Tiger was a pleasant surprise.

Knowing all the bands on the Coma Ecliptic tour (The Contortionist, Animals as Leaders, and BTBAM), I knew this was going to be a great show. I wasn't remotely disappointed, but when BTBAM stepped up to the stage, it was surreal. I liked BTBAM prior to the concert, but after that night I knew they were my new favorite band. The venue was spectacular. I was initially a little skeptical, due to it appearing to be in what looked like a shopping center/strip mall. But the interior was wonderful. It was air conditioned, had plenty of viewing room, the stage was raised to the perfect height, and after the show, free water was distributed at the stage. Most of all, the sound was near-perfect. The sound guys knew what they were doing; I was essentially in the front row, with speakers directly in front of me, but I could still every instrument being played without blowing out my eardrums. 100% recommended artists, and 100% recommended venue.

What an amazing show! One of the first shows in a long time where I was excited to see all the acts. This is the sixth time I've been able to witness BTBAM live, and I can't wait to see them a seventh. Getting up to the stage and watching them play while surging with the crowd is an awesome experience in the true meaning of the word. Animals as Leaders is an experience all their own. A band with two eight string guitarists, a drummer and no vocalist sounds like it could be an experimental disaster. Trust me, they're anything but. Tight, technical guitar work, and driving rhythms make up a majority of AAL's tracks.

I rode down to Newport Music Hall with some friends (a two hour drive each way) to see the show. The venue was very appealing, it was exciting stepping into it. My boyfriend and I were one of the first people to be in the pit for the Contortionist. They were rad. The pit got increasingly packed as the night went on. Animals as Leaders was excellent! Between the Buried and Me stunned us with an encore! It was an amazing concert for not that bad of a price.

I missed the first band. I arrived in time to watch Animals as Leaders. It was Heavy and awe inspiring. They should have headlined. Between the Buried and Me was disappointing. Each musician is very skilled, however the songs were lacking. The chord changes reminded me of Rush. Nothing wrong with Rush...just not what I came to hear. Some songs were like a bad transiberian orchestra. Overall, even with the sweet guitar licks, it was cheesy. You can't follow Animals with that Wyle Stalyns sound...my mind was not having it.

The venue was okay. it would have been great if there were either 100 less people or more places with a nice view. there were 3 levels to the place. the floor level was just too packed. the second level wasn't too bad, but there were zero good/adequate viewing spots available. The same goes for the third level, just with less space. if i were roughly 6'6" this wouldnt have been an issue either. i ended up watching from the third floor between two restless dudes' torsos. besides the venue, the show itself was amazing. i recommend anyone ever to go see them. i was a little let down they only played for 1:20. i expected to see them play for at least 20-30 minutes more. especially considering the show started at 7pm. besides these details, the show was fantastic. going to see them again in august. different venue, so hopefully at least i will have a chance to actually see them.

Between the Buried and Me came out with the high intensity that I expected and kept it all the way through the end of their set. They hit every single note of every song and were every bit as good as in "Colors Live" and "Live at the Fidelitorium". The atmosphere was nothing short of incredible... BTBAM was good, but predictable having seen them before. Their show was pretty much the same as it was a few years ago, with some new material of course. The highlights for me were the openers, Trioscapes (Dan's jazz fusion project) and Lazer/Wulf (a local Atlanta band) were both amazing. The Kindred starts the party but I didn't really feel it. Intronaut comes next and man do they got some crazy, interesting music! Their bassist really blows my mind! Can't wait to see them again! Deafheaven appears next with some brutal and unique sounds! I enjoyed their music and LOVED the vocalist's energy BUT I wasn't digging the vocals per se. Loved the energy from their fans! And finally the moment I'VE been waiting for: Between the Buried and Me! Starting it off with dual song Foam Born from Colors and continue on with some of their best hits (Obfuscation, Selkies) and play some of their new shit (Astral Bodies, Lay Your Ghosts to Rest) to which fans such as myself have never moshed so dynamically (yeah we have, we go to their concerts as often as we can ;D )! From start (Foam Born/Decade of Statues) to finish (Sun of Nothing), they played an incredible set. Mostly from Parallax II, but songs from Alaska, Colors, Great Misdirect, were all mixed in. I was happy to hear some older stuff (although I also love the new stuff). I wish Tampa were one of the shows where they played Parallax II start to finish, but not complaining. I've heard people criticize crowds at BTBAM shows before for not moving around enough...there was a nice pit at this one, but let me let you in on something: I go strictly to watch them play, because bands/musicians this good are few and far between. Blake, Dan, Dustie, Paul, Tommy, are as good as any lineup I can think of and, long story short, I will see them every chance I get.

This was a terrific show. I missed the opener, but Intronaut and Deafheaven were both solid, and BTBAM of course destroyed. If you're reading this review you probably already know that BTBAM is one of the best live bands in aggressive live music. And they bring out a great crown; there was a lot of love in that pit. Only complaint I might have is the setlist. Highly weighted towards their last three albums. Selkies was the only pre-Colors song they played, but it's their best, so at least they played it.

I'd give 10 stars to Deafheaven if I could. So much energy and George is the man. Great set, I got the feeling they played longer than they were supposed to, which is A OK with me. Highlight was definitely Pecan Tree. Intronaut were pretty good too. Between the Buttcheeks and Me were mediocre at best. I didn't really get it, people were going absolutely nuts. Their songs had no rhythm, it just sounded like someone was constantly switching back and forth between radio stations. Definitely a talented band, but not that easy to listen to.

If you are an old school btbam fan, then you do NOT want to see them live now a days. At least the show I went to last weekend, they focused way too much on the newer two albums than anything else. I think that "selkied" should become an urban dictionary term. I really hope they do an Alaska 10 year anniversary tour. They are all very talented musicians, don't get me wrong, I just really prefer their "old sound" to their "concept prog metal sound." I would like their new stuff if each song weren't as long as a phish song with half the innovation of their older material. In my eyes, they are now touring as "the artist formally known as btbam." The only saving grace to the entire show was Deafheaven!!!

all the music was fantastic that night, unfortunately the singer of tesseract couldn't really reproduce the quality of the vocals on the album, and he addressed us as tampa a few too many times. other than that, the only thing to take away from the experience was... the spotlights! the plain, non-colored spotlights would repeatedly flash directly into the audience i.e. my eyes! they didn't really contribute anything to the show ambience and actually hindered my enjoyment more than I thought they would. enough of the lights though, the music was amazing and the venue had a badass restroom attendant. overall it was very close to what I would call a perfect show.

How do I review these three bands? To be fairly simple: Unforgettable, breath-taking, mind-blowing; simply amazing! First thing's first, I showed up primarily for Animals As Leaders. TesseracT opened up the night playing awesome djent music. I, truthfully, was not expecting much from them until they actually started playing and it was crazy! The vocalist and bassist were the best part about them! Then, god himself (what I like to call Tosin Abasi) showed up with his band just annihilating the club with their technical djent and progressive metal shredding and polymeter and whatnot! Finally the main BTBAM showed up and what an entrance! Unfortunately I didn't stay long enough to actually listen to them intently, but while I was there I thoroughly enjoyed their music as I participated in the mosh pit!

Between the Buried and Me had one of those unforgettable metal concerts, to which I will always look back on and say 'this was one of my favorites'. The energy, excitement, technical execution, sonic quality, and 'presence' the band brought to the show were all amazing. They played a solid setlist, with a healthy assortment of new material (3 songs, great for promoting the new record) and old favorites. They listened to their fans and brought out their penultimate 'epic' track as an encore. Playing 'White Walls' at the end was a culmination of the entire evening: unforgettable!

This was the second time that I had seen Between the Buried and Me... and by far the most unforgetable! Definitely one of (if not THE) best show I have ever been to. I have been into all of these bands for the past few years now (Devin Townsend, not so much) and was literally counting the days until this concert... let me tell you; it was well worth the wait!! Scale the Summit was on point to the fullest potential (sounding every bit as tight as they do on both their albums). Cynic was off the hook with much more energy and showmanship than the last time I saw them with Meshuggah in Baltimore about a year ago. Wasn't all that impressed with Devin Townsend Project, but I can respect their musical abilities (just not my favorite musical taste). And then came BTBAM! Probably one of the best setlists I could have ever asked them to play... a little bit of everything in just the right proportions. Great mix of new songs off of The Great Misdirect, a bit of old school with "More of Myself to Kill" and "Alaska"... and "Ants of the Sky" and "White Walls" from hands-down the best album I have picked up in years: Colors. Overall, this concert was simply an incredibly memorable event to have experienced for myself (as an avid fan of all sorts of metal/hardcore/experimental bands). Next time BTBAM are playing anywhere in the greater Ohio area, I will without a doubt be there... Bottom line: BTBAM are undeniably a juggernaut force in the scene of modern hardcore metal and will forever be one of the best bands I have ever had the privilege of seeing in concert!!

Between the Buried and Me are GODS to begin with, but this show was amazing. The opening acts were all solid, and really set the mood. When BTBAM came out, the crowd went crazy. They played their set, and got cheered back on stage for an encore song, which, for BTBAM, was bound to last no less than ten minutes. Indeed, they played White Walls, a 14 minute song. Then afterwards, they started breaking down their equipment, and JUST CHILLED IN THE CLUB! They were talking to fans, taking photos, signing stuff! It was awesome! This venue is small enough for them to do that. I'm definitely coming back.

By far one of the best shows I've ever been to in my life!!! Between The Buried And Me was so so so so so so so amaaaaazing!! I can say my life is somewhat complete now. They're all such incredible musicians and being the front row was so sick! I will definitely see them next time they come to town!

Between the Buried and Me has been one of my favorite bands since I first listened to Colors. After that i moved backwards, exploring other albums and I absolutely love The Great Misdirect. This show (supporting The Great Misdirect) had a great set featuring a lot of new songs and many oldies. BTBAM has an amazing ability to connect with the crowd, who absolutely loved the show. I was on the upper level of the venue and I was able to look down on the moshing below. Being upstairs didn't stop me from rocking out though. Openers: Scale the Summit was great as usual, performing their technical instrumental brand of adventure metal. They played many songs from carving desert canyons and a few from monument. The great plains was great (pun intended) Devin Townsend Project: Ok so here's the deal, Devin is a weird dude. He plays HEAVY stuff. Before the show I had picked up his most recent album, Addiction, and loved it but was disappointed by the lack of his female singer at the show. The crowd didn't really get him at first but at the end he made the message clear. He is also hilarious if you get to know him through his other works before the show. Cynic: So, not that big a fan. I had listened to their most recent album "Traced in Air" prior to the show and got to know their style. They played mostly songs from that album, to the crowd's pleasure. The bass player and drummer were very appealing as were the lead vocals. I did not like the guitar sounds however, and the screaming was not to my taste.

All the bands were great, Devin was Hilarious, Cynic was amazing; I can't believe I got to see them in concert. Between the Buried and Me is a little overrated. I only like that one song that was on rock band. I think the Vocalist just ran around screaming random stuff the entire show.

I ended up getting to the Summer Slaughter a bit late, but just in time for Veil of Maya who were great. They put on a great show. Next up was Born of Osiris. I haven't heard any of their music before, but they have a captive stage presence. Very enjoyable. Finally, Between the Buried and Me were up. The pits were a bit calmer for most of their set, but not all parts of their music lends itself to it either. They are very skilled, and entertaining. I can't wait to see them again!

Irving Plaza is a great venue with amazing sound. Great show, amazing headliners: Veil of Maya, Born of Osiris and Between the Buried and Me displayed excellent musicianship and performances. Support bands likewise were very good as well. Was a great time!

This was my first time attending a festival so I didn't know what to expect. I've been to Irving plaza several times before. I like that venue because it's small which makes the shows feel intimate. Plus I was in the front on the barricades. The opening bands were good. I enjoy discovering new(to me) bands. But of course I was there to see BTBAM(after only listening to automata 1), Born Of Osiris and Veil Of Maya. I've seen BOS and VOM once before I believe with TDWP... First time seeing BTBAM and all I can is I can't wait til they come back to Ny. Their set put me in a trance like state that I didn't want to end. Even though they played 8 songs which are long like 6-10 minutes. They could've played for 2 hours straight and I'd probably want more lol!!

Too many bars and not enough floor space. The balcony was closed when they could have used it. The bands were great and the belasco was alot like the mayan theater.

My first time seeing Leprous, who were very good and entertaining. The Dear Hunter is just a phenomenal band, and I loved the longer set considering they were not the headliner. What often happens at shows is that an opener steals the show (trust me, The Dear Hunter put on an incredible performance); not this time. BTBAM was in command from start to finish, playing to a venue full of excited fans. It was a good thing they played new stuff early in the set considering the new album isn t out yet (and people therefore don t know its music). A great mix of new and old music, and a thoroughly pleasing concert. I see them every opportunity I get, no question.

Toothgrinder sounded dope. Polyphia was such a treat and they sound just as amazing live as they do on their albums. The Contortionist was incredible as always. And BTBAM shredded so hard! Definitely check this tour out!

The title sounds stupid but it's my honest opinion. The band is so musically talented, and can play such a wide range genres on one album, with flawless transitions and tempo changes. This was the third show I've been two of theirs, and was honestly the best concert I've ever been to. I can't wait for their new album

I remember 10 years ago how amazing the Colors Album was and how bummed I was to not see it then. 10 years later I experienced it live and it was amazing. The performance was flawless, the crowd was hyped, the staff were even into it the whole set. The energy was awesome. Every band got amazing treatment and the whole night just felt great.

Musically this was easily a 5-star show, but sometimes I think that bands forget that we're there to see them, not to be seen BY them. August Burns Red had these brilliant LED panels behind the band that made many in the audience close their eyes and look away for almost half of their set. BTBAM used the panels too, but with less frequency and never left them on for long. I'd like to see ABR again, but if I do I want to watch them play, not watch the floor while they play. Beyond the light show this was an amazing night. Everyone played near flawlessly, the crowd was great, and the action on stage was cool. I was presently surprised by Good Tiger's set. I knew that musically they were great, but didn't really have an appreciation for the singer until seeing him live. Fantastic!

The band lineup was awesome and the venue was cool. I was a little surprised that their "seating" was no where near the actual viewing area. I'd hoped to have a spot to relax for a moment with my back issues but that wasn't happening. Overall it was a great experience and I'm so glad I got to see those guys.

Had never seen any of these bands before. I was pleasantly surprised. Tesseract was good, didn't really like the lead singer that much. Animals as Leaders was awesome. They don't need a singer to be great. Between the Buried and Me really impressed me. I have listened to them for the last few years but this was the first time seeing them. I was blown away.

Overall, the show and the venue were absolutely amazing. My only complaint was that too many people were moshing during Animals as Leaders, which made it hard to focus on the music because I was constantly defending myself from flailing arms and legs.

The Tesseract, Animals as Leaders, and Between the Buried and Me was fantastic! When first getting to the venue I was a little surprised by the fact that the line was short, but I did realize that I got there more than an hour before the doors even opened. Once time came closer, everyone started piling in the parking lot. I knew this show was going to be great just by the sheer amount of fans that showed up. We got checked in by very respectable ticket checkers and body checkers. As a woman, I had asked for a female body checker and the girl came out right away. The bathrooms at Northern Lights were very clean and the woman who stayed in there was very kind as well. Then I had gotten merchandise (I'm so glad I got it before the show started!). We then waited in a group at the front of the stage and Tesseract came on. They were fantastic! I haven't heard much of there music, but after seeing this show will definitely be keeping an eye on them! The music was perfect for dancing and just feelin' it! I thought it was funny to see the Tesseract band wearing Animals as Leaders T shirts, very nice :) Next, Animals as Leaders. The crowd started piling up person on top of person. The band was phenomenal! The technicality of what they do is awe inspiring! Then, Between the Buried and Me. Now by this time I couldn't see at all, but that was to be expected at this concert. The music was amazing! My only problem was how rowdy some of the audience members got. People were pushing and falling and shoving, it was mayhem, but then again that was also to be expected. We were headbanging almost the entire time that they were on stage! It was one of the greatest times of my life!

Between the Buried and Me was amazing as were the opening acts. Only huge downfall was the fact that the venue does not enforce the "no smoking" posted at the door. Ventilation system was good so I didn't totally get choked out. Crowd was good, music was awesome!

BtB&M, the premier Prog Metal band, on top of their game, as expected. Stunned by musicianship of Humans as Animals, one of the guitarists seemed a human arpreggiator! Did not see TesseracT.

The sheer amount of instrumental talent on the bill was through the roof. To see it all done live... priceless. Well, maybe not priceless, but well worth the over priced alcohol. Anyone who likes metal and can appreciate musical talent should definitely check these bands out if you haven't. "Amazing" just about sums it up for me.

Tesseract did a nice job opening the show. It was good to hear something a little different like that. Animals as Leaders did not disappoint at all. Tosin was so amazing. If you play guitar or bass or anything you need to see that man preform live before you die. He just seemed so happy to be on stage. You can tell that dude loves playing and preforming. BTBAM absolutely devoured everything else. I mean I've seen them play three times now, and the pageant + a headline = fantastic. They just know how to preform and play so musically together. Fantastic dynamics coupled with a sweet light show just made it awesome to hear. I will never ever forget that concert (front row helps too).

Show overall was really good. Tesseract and AAL obviously have their bases covered, although Tesseract's new singer didn't really seem of the caliber as their previous. We didn't stay for BTBAM, as none of my group really particularly liked them, but we weren't the only ones either. I've seen them live before, so I know they play well, but I didn't care to see them again. Good band nonetheless!

Every time I've seen Animals as Leaders come through St. Louis, they have technical problems. The first time they toured here at Pop's they were cramped on the side stage and kept getting major feedback in their hollowbody 8-strings. Every show after that had been at FUbar... 'nuff said... Seeing them being featured in a Pageant show was an amazing experience. They've gotten so popular over that past few years they're well overdue for the kind of VIP treatment St. Louis has to offer. Sound was balanced and accurate. The lights and video screens were spot on and beautifully presented. Their playing was perfect, as one would only assume. The only downside I saw to this show was the crowd. During the majority of their set, only the first few rows showed any signs of life The rest just stood there until the songs were over and then offered applause. There were even a few points where Navine would look out at the crowd and seem a bit disappointed in their response during songs. This is in stark contrast to their previous shows in St. Louis where everyone is crammed into a tiny room jumping all over each other in enjoyment of their music. In all, I would definitely recommend this lineup be seen by anyone who hasn't seen them before. If you have seen them before, then just be wary that now with the bigger popularity, the crowd energy has somewhat dimmed, but you can always get a good glimpse of the glory that once was when they close with CAFO every time.

I'm writing this having bought the VIP tickets to the show. I've done this kind of thing many times before but this one was kind of lame. Usually, a VIP ticket means you can kinda hang out with the band for a little bit before the show, get autographs, have a few photo ops and all that sort of junk. This time was just a line of people. Here's your poster, and then you go through the line and shake hands and say hello and get your autograph, and move on. I was a little bit upset by that because usually this is the sort of meet and greet that happens for free at the Warped Tour, or for the first ten people in line or stuff like that. I've never had this happen at a paid-for VIP entry. It's not a dealbreaker for me, but seeing as we paid 15-20 bucks extra, something more than a handshake and being ushered through a line would have been more than welcome. It's definitely something to consider when wondering if it's worth it. (Also, there was some nonsense which should be taken into account. Someone who works at the house of blues stole mine and my friends VIP posters. While I'm grateful the HoB was able to eventually get replacements for us, it really should NOT have happened...though we wound up killing time with Tesseract it wasn't bad in the end. Still - it should be taken into account.) As for the SHOW itself, I had seen BTBAM five times before that night, and it was by far the most impressive show! All of the opening acts were phenomenal, and BTBAM just never, ever dissapoints. Had I have bought a regular ticket this review might as well have been five stars, considering coat check would have been avoided too, but the really underwhelming VIP really kind of left a sour taste in my mouth, and I likely wont be buying VIP for HoB shows again.
