Oct 17th was my birthday. So, I took part in this concert from Japan. It was very fantastic concert. I want to say "thank you" to staff. Also, I want to say this to everyone who liven up the concert together.

... the sound was too loud and the spotlights too powerfull. I won't go again to an hatsune miku concert. There weren't even enough tee-shirts. Before the beginning of the concert, all the medium and large tee-shirts were sold out. ... Concert by amateur :))

I thought that this event would have to wait until I went to Japan. I found out a week before and had to go. The energy of everyone around you, the interactivity with glow sticks, the sound vibrates you to the core, the effects were incredible, and the music didn't stop for breaks. The live band gets serious props for playing 2 hours with only a 5 minute break near the end. I wish it could've been longer but that's just nitpicking cause nobody would want such an awesome show to ever end.

From the moment I got to the line to get in, the staff did an outstanding job maintaining order and keeping the fans motivated, the moment the doors open one could feel the energy from every person, once again from staff to security personnel they projected themselves as professionals and help create a great experience for everyone. The Show was an experience of a life time, it was an amazing performance, from the Setlist to visual effects, one can tell the team work hard to give the fans something to remember and take back with them. I'm looking forward to future shows. Thank you very much for this awesome experience.

I only found out about Hatsune Miku a few month ago. She was the opening act for Lady Gaga's latest tour. I was curious to see what Miku was all about, so I decided to get a ticket to see her. Recently she performed on the David Letterman show and seeing her perform on his show made me even more excited to see her live! Miku was incredible! It was nothing that I ever experienced before! :) Even though Miku isn't a real person, the whole experience felt real. I felt like I was at a rave among all the Miku fans while holding our glow sticks up in unison. It was truly an experience of a lifetime and I would definitely see Miku again! It was as if I was in Japan for 2 hours. The band was fantastic! They made the show that much greater!!! Miku is the future!!! The technology and the lighting effects throughout the show was EPIC! I'm so glad I went!

Far exceeded my expectations. It was said that Elvis had a way, unlike most performers, of making everyone from row 1 to row 101 feel like he was singing to them; crazy as it sounds, Hatsune Miku made me feel that way even though I was in the second balcony. Before the event I would have classified myself as a casual fan; I was fascinated by the technology but not really into the performance. Now, I am greatly anticipating my next opportunity to attend another show. The other fans at the event were fantastic too and were doing nice things like giving complete color sets of glowsticks to everyone newbies like me. :-)

Gotta say the crowd made the hype and excitement much more enjoyable. People with a crowd that feels the same about something is just great. Show was fantastic. Band members were energetic and actually looked like they were having fun while playing. Nice props and stage effects. The only issue really was the limited products. Should make more. People wanna get things to help remember an event like this! Definitely going to try and make the next one.

Best time of my life. Love Miku since 2009 and been always wanted to see her live. I went both days (Friday and Saturday) and had a blast at both but Friday was better because I had a VIP ticket so I was right in front of her. As for Saturday I was all the way in the back so I would recommend a VIP if you want to get very close. Still had an amazing time.12/10 would definitely go again when she comes back to New York.

Firstly the projection is way more solid and vibrant than Mikunopolis at Nokia Theatre in Los Angeles, 2011. The soundstage was great, the standing room only was a giant buzzkill due to shorter people such as myself unable to see past the heads, waving arms, and camera phones used by people just to see the projection. Enforced seating will probably not change much, but it would reduce mosh pitting, although that may be part of the fun. Songlist was a tad old. Some of the Engrish songs are relatively inferior to their Japanese originals, but they did grow on me. Whoo's Parades is a beautiful song but was not reproduced well with the limited band instruments they had on stage. Needed way more costumes than just Tell Your World, that one Oster nurse song, and that Rin Miku song that's always played. Overall still a highly enjoyable experience. Made going to both days totally worth it.

Hatsune Miku is a Vocaloid. That is, she is a computer software program designed to recreate the human voice and can sing to any music. As an open source code many people create music for her and her fellow Vocaloids and the best internet results get set to Haysune Miku's holographic presentation. The Miku Expo is one of many "Live"concerts made up of a four piece "really" live band and Hatsune Miku's holographic performance. I am an over-60 Otaku and my wife and I travelled from Annapolis, Maryland to see this concert. All I can say is: she was awesome. I honestly believe that when the crowd left the theater, after cheering themselves hoarse, no one did not believe that they had seen a "live" person named Hatsune Miku. The crowd was exceptionally well behaved and they actually sang along to many of the Japanese lyrics. The light show and musical performance by the band was also great. I feel that this is only the beginning of the future of entertainment programming for the next century. Thanks to Crypton Media fro bringing this to America. Absolutely amazing.

Hatsune Miku, the world's virtual diva live at Hammerstein Ballroom. It was a lovely show and if I was rich, I would pay to see the show twice. While she may not be a real person miku has quite a stage presence and she carries on with her performance like a true professional artist. I really wanted to like this concert. The music was excellent, the crowd was great, and the location was fantastic. The HUGE problem was that I couldn't see the stage or the singers for most of the concert. That wouldn't be a problem if I just wanted to listen to my favorite singer, but they also dance and wear fantastic outfits. Don't know if I'll go next time it comes to the US.

It was such and amazing experience! I've always wanted to go to a vocaloid concert and so when I heard they were going to have a Miku Expo in Austin I was so excited!! The opening act Anamanaguchi was so good and really hyped me up for the concert. When it started I was so incredibly excited to see Miku, Rin, Len, Luka, Meiko, and Kaito on that stage performing some really great songs. Fantastic show I really enjoyed it. The only reason I put this review at 4 stars was because I could not see half the show due to extremely tall people in front of me. I am a more than average height but there were so many people who were more than 6 foot infront of us. I felt so bad for the girls who were shorter next to us. If you are going to attend a concert that has options for standing room or balcony, get balcony seats.

Miku Expo is a wild trip down the more eclectic choice of Japanese music that we have the ability to enjoy. I have been to the 2014 and 2016 Expos, and have never regretted it. This particular venue had the music a bit louder than it needed to be, but the performance was great. The fans are fun and interesting with the various cosplay efforts, car wraps, and other memorabilia they carry. HEB was generally a pretty good venue, but they had a hard time clearing people through their security at a reasonable pace. My only regret is that Austin's concert had a lighter attendance that I hope doesn't discourage the concert organizers.

BEFORE CONCERT: I arrived at the venue at 12:30PM, the time when doors were opening. When I reached the venue, I could see a line. I began walking to find the end of the line. Everytime I turned the corner of the building hoping to see the end of the line, I would just see the line keep continuing. I finally reached the end of the line, but I was worried the merchandise I want might be sold out by the time I got in. Also, it was very hot outside and I thought I was going to have to wait a long time in the hot weather. The staff was yelling at people to keep moving and such, but they did an excellent job of getting people into the concert quickly. The line was moving at a steady pace and I ended up getting into the concert hall quicker than I thought. INSIDE CONCERT HALL: My bag was checked and I walked in where I was handed a guidebook and a glowstick. The merchandise booth was set up and I got in line to buy merchandise. Luckily, the merchandise I wanted was still in stock. Afterwards, I asked the staff to direct me to my seat and took the stairs up to the first balcony. After finding my seats, I realized the balcony on the side is blocking part of our view. I would soon realize that I can see the hologram, keyboardist, and guitarist well, but the balcony blocked the view of the drummer and bassist. Halfway through the concert, the band was introduced, but it was awkward when the drummer and bassist was introduced and I couldn't see them. Other than that, our view of Miku and the other Vocaloids was still exceptional. The stage design included huge orbs hanging from the ceiling. During the concert, different colors and designs could be seen on the orbs. OPENING ACT: The opening act was Anamanaguchi, a band from New York City. They're known for their chiptune music, but have been experimenting in other genres of music. I knew only a few of their songs before coming to the concert. I recognized some of the songs they performed and I didn't recognize others. However, I did a find new band to listen to and now I have been listening to their work. Their performance was accompanied with a dazzling light show. They were a excellent choice to be the opening act for Miku. It didn't feel out of place for them to perform as the opening act. Another band performing as the opening act might of felt out of place or awkward, but Anamanaguchi didn't. I thoroughly enjoyed their performance. I was sad when they finished, but then was surprised and elated to see them play the encore with Miku at the end of the concert. THE CONCERT: After Anamanaguchi finished their set, the concert began. Colorful, geometric visuals were projected on the screen. The names of the musicians playing were displayed on the screen, as well as outlines of the Vocaloids performing and their names. Finally, Miku was revealed and the crowd was excited and screaming. Even though we were at an angle to the stage, Miku still appeared 3D. I was amazed by the details in her clothing and how her teal, long pigtails looked. Her and the rest of the Vocaloids looked impressive. During the concert, they did switch to older models of her for some songs. It did not bother me but I would prefer they use the same model for the whole concert. After the first 3 songs, Miku addressed the crowd and introduced herself. She spoke English, and I could understand her. Most songs performed were in Japanese but there were a few English songs. Throughout the concert, the Vocaloids performing were accompanied by visuals for some songs. Everybody in the crowd had a glowstick and others had glowsticks that changed colors to match the Vocaloid performing. Everyone was united with the glowsticks, all waving and moving the glowstick in the same motion and to the beat of the songs. The song list contained a variety of songs, from rock to electronic songs. I was able to recognize every song that was played. They played old songs and rather newer songs. While I was glad I was able to see these songs performed live, I hope the next time they come back, the setlist contains new songs because some songs have been performed over and over already over the years and fans are tired of seeing the same song performed. Also, they seem to be reducing the amount of songs the other Vocaloids perform and performing more songs with Miku instead. I wish I saw more of the other Vocaloids perform. The accompanying band was spectacular and got the spotlight at times. The sound was good but if you want to protect your ears, I'd recommend earplugs. I did not wear earplugs. Throughout the concert, I felt as if the singing was high pitched but after listening to the videos I took, the singing sounded fine and I realized it was just my ears. After the concert was over, my hearing was muffled. The choreography was lovely and the movement of the holograms were smooth and very realistic. Despite the holograms having an anime style to their appearance, their realistic movements makes it feel as if there really is a real person on stage. The Vocaloids also had different outfits for different songs. ENCORE: The crowd shouted for an encore and Miku came back out along with Anamanguchi. Anamanguchi played the songs for the encore. They also collaborated with Hatsune Miku to create a song called "Miku" which they also played during encore. For the final song, Hatsune Miku played on a hologram keyboard. She sang the first song that was ever created with her software, a beautiful ballad. Her voice resonated throughout the room and everyone carefully watched and listened while moving their glowsticks slowly. After the concert finished and I left the venue, I immediately became upset that the concert was over. If you are a fan of Crypton's Vocaloids, you must go to their concert at least once in your lifetime. The concert is an experience. Seeing the hologram with your own eyes it entirely different from just watching videos of the concert. Tons of work goes into designing the hologram, outfits, movement, choreography, stage design, lights, etc... Everything about the concert is a work of art. Getting to hear songs created by different musicians and fans and see the Vocaloids and the band perform them was extraordinary.

This concert was really super wicked awesome! It my first time seeing a vocaloid concert and it totally exceeded my expectations. Not only was it so cool to see the vocaloids "in person" on stage, but because the music was played live all the songs sounded really full and especially good; some were even better than the originals in my opinion. A bunch of people were in cosplay, and the atmosphere was really fun. Everyone got a printed program and free glowstick! The only minor bad thing was that we as a crowd definitely should have worked harder for the encore; the performance was so awesome! I would say this was one of the best concerts I've ever been to. If Hatsune Miku does a tour next year I'm definitely going to try to go again.

Do not doubt purchasing tickets to this show!! The visuals were absolutely incredible, the music - of course - was wonderful and the live band had an amazing personality !! The crowd never seemed to loose excitement from one song to the next! I never have had so much fun at a concert before!!

The idea behind the show is great but is not finalized. The music itself is not someting to go crazy for but the promis of a computer generated voice that sings and that backed up by an animated character should had give a lot of freedom to the creators. Instead they projected on a transparent screen what should have been a hologram, a series of dancing anime characters that pretty much danced the same way in a two dimensional plane. I am just wondering why they just didn not go lower and just project some images of the same characters in a slideshow. The venues was worst, the general admission where the majority of the tickets were sold pretty much got ripped off. The stage was too low and even if I am quite tall I could not see too much. My daughter could not see at all. What was the reason the projection screen was not eleveted enough so all the GA could have enjoyed the show? The answer is simple: they did not care. A few thousands fans did not deserve the respect and the consideration. Don't come back, I will not buy tuckets next time. We will create our own anime character and our own music and we enjoy it at home in VR.

A great night for music at the Hammerstein. Minus the HUGE glowsticks in my face every song (good thing I was tall enough to see the screen and take video.) an awesome night. She played old and new songs as well as the other Vocaloid as well. If she is around your city... go see her!

The concert was visually absolutely amazing. It's always been my dream since middle school to see Miku live and that finally came true. The music was amazing, the lights were beautiful, the crowd was wild, and everything was fantastic. Miku and friends were adorable as always. My only complaint would have to be that the setup was significantly smaller than past Miku concerts. There was only one screen. It also seemed like the concert wasn't all it could have been. Rin and Len had very few songs as well as Luka,Meiko, and Kaito. I know that Miku is the star but I would have liked to see more of the others as well. It also would have been nice to have the stage/screen a bit higher so that shorter people or people standing all the way in the back of the floor could still have a clear view. I really enjoyed the enthusiasm from the crowd and the glow sticks were very beautiful moving all together. Anamanaguchi was an incredible opening act as well. I understand that this is the first NA tour for Miku expo and it is possible that the concert was minimal due to it being an experimental run. I hope that it will continue next year and be 10 times better due to its success this year! Thank you Mikuexpo for visiting us NA fans!!

The concert was AMAZING! We sat up in the balcony since I wanted to make sure my 4 year old would be able to see everything clearly. From where we sat we were able to see Miku and the other Vocaloids clearly with very little distortion. The sound was perfect also. Abosolutely a great experience! ^o^

The concert was amazing and simply unforgettable. As a VIP ticket purchaser, I was very happy with how organized the event was. Chicago theatre did a good job organizing separate lines for VIP and regular admission, even when it started raining! Buying merchandise was quick as well. The concert itself was definitely worth it! It lasted just about 3 hours with a long set list that focuses mostly on Miku songs, but the other crypton vocaloids also get a chance to sing solos. The vocaloids were easy to see where I sat (5th row), but it was sometimes obvious that they were projected on the screen from certain angles. Its best to watch them facing frontward. The Crypton music band was flawless. Anamanaguchi was a great choice for the opening act and they finished strong with a totally unexpected 3 song encore performance (playing one of my favorite songs "39"). I'm so grateful that they decided to add Chicago to the tour. I'm definitely going next year if they come back!

Everything associated with the show was perfect to showcase the "First sound from the future" (aka Hatsune Miku). The opening band is a well known chip tune band that works very well with the overall concert. The visuals were stunning and the live band really made this synthesized music come alive.

First off, being a woman who is 5'2" tall, "Holy crap, I can't see anything!" The seating was very difficult for anyone who is short. The moment the show started, everyone stood up out of their seats. I had a decent seat and would have been able to see the stage perfectly fine if it weren't for that. So my concert experience was limited to what I could see through the gaps between waving arms and bodies, which wasn't very much. That being said, the concert itself was very good. The opening band was a wonderful surprise, as I didn't know that Anamanaguchi was going to be playing there. The setup for the stage was great and the sound quality was very good as well.

The line was huge but once the doors open it went really fast. The seats were wide, padded, and comfortable. The seating was also set up so there were no bad seats. The staff was friendly. But the concert? Amazing! I wasn't sure how a hologram concert would be. Was it going to feel like TV? Was there going to be a disconnect from the audience? Nope. The crowd was so energetic and interacted with Miku the entire concert. I've never seen such crowd participation at a normal concert before. Everyone when you walked in the door got glowsticks... And it looked like everyone the entire 3 hour concert was using them. Yup I said 3 hours. Miku even did an Encore. The only thing that was less than amazing was merch booth. They ran out of some items an hour in... But since the person in front of me bought the last wristbands I asked if I could get the ones on the display wall, and they let me. So people working the booth were fast and amazing, just their stock wasn't enough to meet the needs of the crowd. But being the first stop on the tour it's usually hit and miss.

This was definitely an unforgettable concert experience. The sound design/levels, special effects, and variety were awesome. Different than what I imagined, and YouTube in no way does it justice. Next time I'll remember to bring earplugs-- super ridiculously loud, but still clear. Amanamaguchi opening was wonderful. The crowd was a ton of fun, and waving glowsticks and glow-wands around in unison, color-coordinated to match each Vocaloid, was a neat effect. I danced and waved my arms until I literally couldn't anymore. There were two encores as well, and you could see the band really working and sweating. They did an excellent job and had great stamina.

The show itself was one to remember!!! Absolutely amazing and highly recommend. The venue wasn't very good. Easy parking and easy to find our seats. It took an hour and a half just to get through the door. And standing in the merch line was ridiculous. Hatsune miku was amazing!! The band was on point and it was such a lively-rock out- concert!!!!

The MikuExpo 2014 in New York will definitely be a concert I will remember for the rest of my life. I was expecting the show to be short in length with Hatsune Miku being the only performer, but to my surprise the show went on for almost 3 hours and multiple vocaloid performances were included. The only complaint I have was the merch area. It was highly unorganized, and by the time I arrived to the front of the crowd (because no line was present) to buy a shirt, all that remained were sizes large and up. The merchant told me to come back the next day, but with the possibility that smaller sizes would run out again. I flew from Florida to New York just to see this concert, and all though the concert itself was mind blowing and fantastic, I wish I could have a shirt to flaunt around back at home and for the memories. Nonetheless, I highly recommend for future concerts!

Most people will either scoff or completely dismiss the idea of a Japanese virtual pop star. Hatsune Miku and her fellow vocaloids put on a show that was not only one of the best shows i've ever seen (rivaling Kiss, NIN, Gwar and bands alike) but the crowd was amazing as well. Its hard to put it all into words but it was beautifully uplifting. I can only understand a small amount of Japanese words, but the emotion and feeling given off by the atmosphere and music was more than enough to understand Miku. With the music aside ( amazing as it was) the quality of the animation killed any HD or IMAX visual effects away. No camera, (no matter how high quality it is) could ever capture the true definition and detail put into this concert. I will never forget my amazingly epic experience that Miku gave me. If given the chance I will see every Vocaloid show I possibly can.

I drove all the way from Cleveland, Ohio to come see Miku, and it was SO worth it! The waiting in line, the venue, I got a great seat in the balcony, so I saw everything! I thought that it was cool that they had a bar for those that wanted to drink, but I kind of wished that they also had pop and juice there as well. Maybe they did but I didn't see it. They could have had more than one place to buy items like t-shirts and whatnot, the lines for it was really long, and once you bought something, you had to push your way out. Maybe have a roped-off one way line for those wishing to buy and then another one for people after they bought something would have helped. My friend and I are both disabled, and we should not have had to fight our way out of that line. I brought my Asian Ball-Jointed Doll (BJD) Noriko, who cosplayed as Miku, and she got a LOT of positive responses as well. >:D

The Hasune Miku show was one of the most well done performances I've ever seen in my life! With tons of energy! The audience was thrilled and very into each and every song. The glow sticks really added to the show of energy ( I highly recommend buying one in advance). I was also in the balcony because I'm short and the floor would be not a good place for me, but it was still such a great scene. They played music from each of the characters. The only negative thing would be that they weren't in Boston which is closer to me.

Very low stage, making it very difficult to see the show. Also, there was only one bar, which was quite crowded considering how many people were there. Life changing show though. You haven't lived until you've witnessed thousands of people shouting at a hologram.

I went to the expo in 2016 in Chicago and this concert was so much better on many levels. It could be because I was in the VIP pit this time, or the fact I knew most of the songs. Honestly the setlist was amazing and kept the crowd hyped for more. At first my feet started to hurt during the opening act, but once Miku came, I didn't think about my feet until we were leaving. It was truely amazing concert.
