I brought a friend with me who had never listened to them, and he said it was awesome. He's a fan now. The show started with Rae Cassidy and the 4-string quartet performing 2 songs. She killed it. She's amazing. Stunning. Beautiful. She could easily stand beside the greats like Lady Gaga and Adele, but easily sets herself apart by having a much softer touch. Shocking work! Then Copeland came. Aarons vocals were ON POINT. I don't remember him singing THIS well live, but he definitely nailed it. Guitar tones were true to the original sounds. Drums had the deepest snare in history - SO Copeland. Bass was groovin'. And don't forget the added 4 piece string section. Reeeeeaaally nice! Sound-wise, it could've been a bit better. Part of the problem is the performers musical choices. Compared to Copeland's albums there were often times where players didn't take advantage of the original compositions' arrangement and played longer notes more often. This muddied up the mix a bit and had an unfortunate knack to drown the vocals. And Aaron's SUPER SUPER soft falsetto randomly dropped his vocals down like 9 decibels. But the sound team could've probably handled at least some of that. Vocals needed to stay on top more often, so everything else needed to be dropped or scooped a bit more. Maybe some skilled compression could've made Aaron's falsetto's less drastic... ...but then again sound guys can only do so much. Overall I was stoked and felt emotional during the performance. Great songs.

Copeland's music is amazing, but seeing them live was beyond what any words could express! The sound was clear. Most of my favorite songs were played! You haven't lived until you've seen Copeland live!

The show was absolutely Amazing. It was my first real concert so I thoughly enjoyed it. The only thing I say was a downside was not getting there earlier so I was kind in the back and being short that was kinda hard. LoL. Um, and the bands that they have on tour with them I felt kinda played too long. like the the bands were playing at say six thirty, copeland didn't come out until ten. It was worth every min of it, but I felt copeland could have played for more than an hour since it is their last tour. But yea, it was def worth seeing again

This show was amazing even with Aaron marsh losing his voice they played tons of songs from the album Beneath The Medicine Tree one of copelands best albums. But other than copeland, Deas Vail and I can make a mess were also amazing performers Ace Enders can write music like no other musicians. Must go see this performance.

Copeland along with the other bands I Can Make A Mess Like Nobody's Business, Deas Vail , and Person L all gave amazing performances. The Venue was a good size and was not over packed. All the bands were friendly and walked around area signing autographs and taking pictures.

The band was so awesome. They played wonderfully, they music was great, they did their best to reduce the humming noise in the background. They were audience-friendly and it was nice to see them after the show. It was a good show for their last tour. I will really miss them and their music a lot. Good thing I have all their CDs to listen to.

i've seen copeland literally 20+ times, mainly with the first 2 albums, and never was as satisfied as i was with last night's show at the bowery ballroom. they played songs from the first two albums that they hardly played while they were trying to support it. truly the best setlist they could have put together. i hope they seriously consider doing the something similar to what jimmy eat world did with the clarity X 10 tour, when beneath the medicine tree turns a decade old. that album is classic.

Don't print the ticket saying the concerts at 8pm and have people out in the cold at 9pm still waiting to get in. Then the first band started well after 9. Copeland didn't go on until 11:30. Had to hear three bands first. It would have been nice to know. Copeland looked misrible apoligized for his lack of singing over the last three months. Went from song to song, like a chore to be done. Said little but insulted a fan when he requested a song. Seems like the band is not celebrating their retirement happily. Meanwhile, I usually enjoy the Middle East but the girl checking id's should have just done so. She did too much chatting when people where waiting to get in.

What a great show! Deas Vail, Person L, ICMAMLNB, and Copeland were all amazing. I was so glad to see a great turnout for Copeland, they deserved it. They put on an unforgettable performance. It is so hard to think that that was the last Copeland show I'll see... but it ended on a great note.

It was a good show. Starting with Deas Vail who put on a good show, then to Person L who did an incredible job. Then was I Can Make A Mess Like Nobody's Business, who in my opinion weren't all too great. Then closing with Copeland to make the night. We were able to meet the band and get autographs and pictures.

The show was absolutely amazing! I had never seen so many people at the Middle East Downstairs before in my life! The show was completely sold out and the opening acts were nothing short of amazing! Des Vail put on an unforgettable show with a style of music that is very similar to Copeland's. Person L was absolutely sensational, although I wished they had played a longer set. Kenny Vasoli is the man! I Can Make a Mess Like Nobody's Business was amazing! Ace Enders and company put on a great show showcasing their unique sounds to the audience. Copeland was truly amazing last night! I wasn't too familar with their music, but just seeing the crows singing along to every one of their songs was absolutely astounding to me. All in all, a great night that I won't soon forget!

This show was incredible. Copeland sounded unbelievable...and all of the members were sure to stay after the show to meet fans, take pictures, and sign autographs. It's always nice to see a band who appreciates their fans. The setlist was perfect - they played songs from all of their albums - old and new. The sound was high quality and the performance wasn't lacking in any sort of way. Vocals, drums, guitars, piano...all sounded perfect. It's sad that Copeland is saying farewell, but it was a great gesture to do this farewell tour: it gives the fans one last chance to catch a show.

the opening act, deas vail were flawless live. the singer has such control over his voice and the whole band showed that they really enjoy what they do. they were energetic, and great to watch, as well as it is listen to their music. I can make a mess like nobody's business was also very wonderful despite some sound problems. they pulled through it. I love that ace is so connected to the crowd. He really feels like he is having conversations with the audience. He is great. Copeland was okay, they seemed to be disconnected and not very energetic, except , of course, for the singer, but that is probably why they are breaking up. I still enjoyed them though. Person L was interesting, but not my cup of tea. I was surprised the singer didnt fall over or break something while he was flailing around like a maniac, but he did knock the microphone out of its stand. Overall the show was really good, but very crowded. I would definitely recommend everyone to go see deas vail and ace anywhere they can.

Copeland stole the show with their beautiful music and the sound was great! I Can Make A Mess was amazing too, with a very interesting and sweet set. Best for Last! This was the best show I've seen from them in a while. My only complaint is that I wish they would have played more songs. Aaron seemed genuinely happy to be on stage. He has, in the past, seemed like it was a task rather than him enjoying it. He smiled a lot and was really into his music tonight. The crowd was awesome. We were so into them and they definitely left us wanting more of their attention! I wish it weren't over but I'm looking forward to see what Aaron comes up with next! I'll miss you guys.

Show started great! I had never heard Deas Vail before and they really set the tone for the whole night! Excellent balance in the music, ridiculously high vocals from the front man, solid harmonies from the keys player.....great performance. Person L (ex-lead singer from The Starting Line) and ICMAMLNB (ex-lead singer of the Early November) were entertaining, but not quite as solid or well put together as Deas Vail. That being said, they both played really fun music. But COPELAND......oh my goodness! They were at the top of their game that night! I've seen them twice before and this was by far the best they've ever been. A huge mix of old and new songs, rock tunes and ballads, high and low dynamics, etc. They're range and and expertise was incredible to see. After they "ended the show", the frontman came back out to perform "Love Affair" as a solo on his electric guitar which was beautiful and surprisingly powerful. The rest of the band came out to play one last tune "You Have My Attention". And it was UH-MAY-ZING!!! Such a powerful message and intense vocals, huge false endings, just...the perfect way to end a show and the best way to end an amazing run as a band.

It couldn't have been any better. One of my favorite bands of all time and they performed with a charisma that is unable to describe. This band is one of the bests for its category. They lyrics Aaron comes up with touch the hearts of many. An incredible lineup leading to an amazing last performance by Copeland. Copeland's show included a wide range of new and old material and was a very emotional performance by Aaron and the others. Deas Vail opened and as one of my favorite newer bands, blew me away again, all their members are so humble and kind and talented. First time seeing Person L and I Can Make a Mess Like Nobody's Business. Person L grew on me as the show went on, but they had some of the highest energy on stage that night. ICMAMLNB was equally as impressive as their set went on, really like their music production, and were also the most humorous.

I was so sad when Copeland finalized their breakup and announced their final tour. I knew I had to go. It's been awhile since I've been to a show where i've known all four bands playing, so that just added to my excitement. Deas Vail was good, Person L was good, ICMAM was good but Copeland by far stole the show. All bands played for a good amount of time but they gave Copeland the most time (which they should have). Overall good show, I was very pleased.

All of the opening bands were so enthusiastic and excellent musicians. Deas Vail was the best in my opinion. First time I had heard them- just purchased their latest album. The venue was awesome except for the sudden switching on of the air vents/fans that left all of us in the middle utterly frozen for the ENTIRE show. But as soon as Copeland got on stage none of that mattered! Aaron belted it out like Ive never heard before! I saw him perfrom about 5 years ago and he was really good. This time- he was UNFORGETTABLE! His passion and love for his music and fans was undeniable. The band was truly amazing. If at all possible, I'm more of a fan than ever before. The best finish to a fantastic journey. Copeland for life.

Lakes, the first band was really great with the variety of instruments. Deas Vail was really amazing. Person L had some good riffs and the snger has a good vocal range but I wasn't a huge fan of them. I Can Make a Mess was good. I must admit when my friend asked me join him to go to this concert I was a bit reluctant due to the distance we needed to travel to get there and my not really knowing Copeland's music. I'm glad I did go, though, as the concert was outstanding. Even the bands before Copeland ranged anywhere from good to great. Every band that came was there to play; nothing was done half-heartedly. And of course, Copeland itself was in top form and gave a stellar performance. Overall, the atmosphere was outstanding. The Granada is a well built and well designed venue with its open arena. The sound system was pretty good. My only gripe is that at times the bass was overpowering the rest of the music, but the that probably had something to do with whoever was running the sound board at the time. In conclusion, all the bands and especially Copeland were in top form and the Granda is an awesome venue. I would highly recommend a friend to this concert.

One of the top shows that i have ever been too. The blend of bands was awesome! The only thing is that the sound was not very good, i think it was because the speakers were a little bit ahead of the stage and so because i was really close to the stage it was hard to hear the vocals but other than that it was unforgettable. The show was great. Deas Vail sounded like a version of Copeland that didn't quite have the stage presence. Person L was AMAZING. We actually bought their CD afterward. I Make a Mess Like Nobody's Business was okay - the commentary by Ace, the lead singer, was definitely the best part. And then Copeland played. Their energy was great and they played some awesome songs. I do wish the mic had been turned up a bit - there were songs that we couldn't quite hear, despite the audience singing along, and we were in the front row. But other than that, awesome show!

Firstly the opening bands were pretty decent. I was a big fan of Personel and his amazing moves. Dias Veil was pretty legit. The lead singer had a really nice voice and the key board chick was gettin into it. The last of the opening bands called nobody can make a mess like we can or something like that.... I wasn't a fan. Just not my cup a tea. Vocals weren't my style. As for copeland, they were absolutely phenomenal live. The only complaint i have, and not about them themselves was that right next to the stage it was hard to hear the higher registers of his vocals over the instruments in the varsity theater. I'm so glad i went to the show and i think copeland is the bee's knees.

This is their farewell tour, so it's a sad time for everyone involved. The opening bands they had were amazing. They really chose great musicians to tour with. They will be doing their own thing after Copeland is done, but I know they will still create great music as individuals. This is the second time I've seen Deas Vail. They are really great, and deserved more of an audience. They played first. Person L played second. I had never heard their music, but they blew me away. Not just their songs were great, but their interaction with the audience was incredible. I Can Make A Mess played 3rd. Their set was amazing as well. Ace was really funny to listen to during the song breaks. They all seem like they are heading in the right direction for success, and I definitely look forward to seeing the opening bands in the future. Copeland will be forever missed in the music business. They had a huge impact on it, and they will never be forgotten.

This tour has been the most bittersweet tour that I've ever attended. I felt like Copeland did such a good job with their set and Aaron as always blew my mind. This night was my 5th time seeing copeland and this leg of the tour was especially memorable because my friends and I followed the tour since Portland. The show before at the glasshouse we talked to Jon and asked him if there was any way he could get the band to play Love Affair because I'd never heard it live and he said he'd see what he could do. He said "I can just start playing it...they'd be dumb not to follow along right?!" Anyway sure enough Jon pulled through and they played love affair! Although it was just Aaron by himself, acousticly. At the end I saw Jon and he said "I tried" and gave me a high five. It was an incredible night. All of the bands played excellently. Unforgettable. The band was so approachable for all the shows it was insane.

I always love visiting the El Rey and have had nothing but great experiences here. It's a beautiful theatres, and they always have the best bands playing. Copeland has been my favorite band for 6 or 7 years now, so I knew I couldn't miss this show. I've seen them live 6 or 7 times, and even made a 6-hour drive to San Francisco one night just to see them the day of or after Valentine's Day at Amoeba. Also a great show! Anyway, their performance was very heartfelt! It's too bad their breaking up. I really enjoyed how much Aaron actually spoke to the audience, because he doesn't usually do that much during the show. They played a good variety of their music from different albums as they always seem to do. Everyone had good energy, and as Aaron said, I've never seen them have a crowd so big. It was great!

I am a HUGE Copeland fan, so the show was a little dissappointing to me, but mostly awesome and I'll tell you why. Deas Vail opened and man, they are very freaking talented. The way the lead singer can weave in and out of falsetto like its nothing makes Copeland's impressive vocals pale in comparison. The live performance was nothing short of perfect and touching and if you like Deas Vail, do not miss their show. Incredible. Off to that great start, I felt very hopeful for the rest of the show. Next I Can Make a Mess took the stage. Now I've been sort of a half fan of their music. I was in love with The Early November, like most emo-inclined college students, but I Can Make A Mess tended to bore me on occassion and never gripped me in quite the same way. Still, having the opportunity to see them would at least be interesting. Luckily, their candor and honesty on stage, as well as passion you can't quite experience from their recordings really turned around my opinion of them. I even went home and bought the new album right after the show. To be honest I actually went to this show twice and what I loved about their stage presence was their interaction with the crowd. The lead vocalist told a funny story in Akron, OH and I expected to hear a repeat of that story. Instead, crowd interaction produced its own funny discourse. Basically, what you see is what you get with these guys. They are very real and honest and I really think everyone felt connected with the band. Person L doesn't impress me. I'm not even sure what they are doing on this tour. They seem way too loud and bizarre, but I suppose if you need a change they are okay? I could have did w/out them. But that was fine, because COPELAND WAS NEXT! Annnnd in Akron, OH poor Aaron's voice was all messed up. He seemed grumpy and maybe on drugs which scared me. I don't think it was drugs though, his throat just would clearly not let him hit any of the beautiful melodies quite right the entire show. I think we all did our best to enjoy it though anyways. I mean, it was Copeland, and I knew all the songs. I do feel Copeland has only 2 bad songs though and they played BOTH of them..lol Polly sparks again or whatever? Seriously? Why that one?? So on vacation in St. Pete I had the pleasure of seeing this show again, this time hoping that the last time I see Copeland I would get to hear those soothing vocals in person and see a more fun Aaron similar to I can Make a Mess as he enjoyed singing on stage for us. Nope. Not really. He just seems sort of conceded and irritable. Its a shame really. It doesn't fit at all with the Aaron I know from the music on the records. And then what the frick? Can the guy just not sing live? Copelands songs, as you know, are mostly gentle. And on the records he songs softly but closely into the mic. Live he just forgets that he does this I guess and tries bolting everything out, and then of course he's too far from the mic for you to really even hear any good falsetto stuff. Sadly, I think he needs to take a lesson from Deas Vail on live performance. They were freaking stellar. Honestly, we left halfway through Copeland. The songs sounded like a mockery of the record more than a show. I got too sad and had to leave. I love Copeland to this day, but if you love them too, DON'T GO SEE THEIR FAREWELL TOUR.. lol Or better yet, GO SEE THEIR FAREWELL TOUR AND SAY FAREWELL RIGHT BEFORE COPELAND PLAYS! lol Because Deas Vail and I can Make a mess are totally worth the money and then some, but Copeland will leave you feeling like you were just hoping they were the band you grew to love so much while driving in your car, and you're really better off not having to know that for yourself. So there you go.

The line up of this show was amazing. All four bands had similar sounds. I went in knowing some of Copeland's music, not really knowing what to expect of the other bands or the music I hadn't heard from Copeland. Although I Can Make A Mess Like Nobody's Business had technical difficulties they played well. As for Daes Vail and Person L; Top notch performances. If I had the opportunity to relive this event I definitely would.

Copeland put on one of their best shows ever. It was a perfect set list, playing songs from their array of albums including fan picked favorites. The Social allowed for a final intimate show to send the band off and end their farewell tour.

I absolutely love Copeland. I had to see their farewell tour! As a show it was AMAZING but you could definitely tell Aaron Marsh was ready to be done touring and his level of excitement kind of brought it down... But overall I LOOOOVED it

The concert was pretty good. I was a little disappointed in the stage presence of Copeland unfortunately, but the music was very good. The sound was a little off too (hard to hear the vocals), but it was a fun show. The opener bands were rather good too.

One of the best shows I have ever been to! Very enthusiastic and a variety of opening bands. Sang along to every song with everyone else in the crowd.

Copeland. Front man Aaron Marsh was present, however seemed somewhat distant. Songs were great, parts we hit, but the chemistry was not being communicated as powerfully as it has in the past. The band seemed, simply put, like they were ready to be done. Passion was present at moments but at times playing seemed like a task more than a first love. Their track record stands for how excellent their career was and how accomplished they will forever stand; being a huge Copeland fan myself, I hoped for more from this farewell tour. Deas Vail took the stage ready to give their all and they did. From their soaring falsetto melodies to their eerie psychedelic guitar licks, they held their own and put on an opening act that was more than noteworthy.

The Copeland show at the social was amazing. Every band put on an excellent show, with Copeland closing with an extravagant set. They will be missed, but their music will live on. The Social was the perfect intimate setting for a band's farewell.

All the supporting acts were great. I especially enjoyed Person L, but Deas Vail and I Can Make A Mess Like Nobody's Business were very fine as well. However, most were there for Copeland's last South Florida show, third to last ever, and they did not disappoint. They were sharply on point with Aaron Marsh's vocals coming through perfectly. The set list was engineered wonderfully. Voting on by the fans, it generously sampled from each studio album. My favorite, Beneath Medicine Tree, had 5 songs played off it. It was an overall amazing and historic night. South Florida was very helpful in developing Copeland's status as an Indie/Emo standard and they repayed all debts with an unforgettable evening.

Copeland did an excellent job feeding us what we needed. Their passion for their music was evident and they delivered great music and good entertainment. I hope they aren't really on their farewell tour - they have too much more to give before they say goodbye!

The audience is very respectful of their audio level during their slower songs. And Copeland was one of the best bands I have seen play live. I have posted many videos to YouTube if you would like to see. I know the audio Quality isn't amazing though.

This concert meant a lot to me since it was Copeland's farewell tour. It's the las time I'm ever going to see Copeland, so as soon as I heard they were coming to St.Pete, I had to get tickets. The only bad thing about the concert was the sound at the very beginning. Sometimes you couldn't make out what the singer was saying or you couldn't hear him at all. But when Aaron Marsh took the stage, it was incredible. I'm really going to miss this amazing band.

This was a great show. Deas Vail did a great job. Also Person L. I had never heard of Person L, but I really enjoyed their sound. Having 4 bands was a little much to sit through, but overall, great music. The openers fit well with Copeland's sound too. I stood on the floor for Deas Vail and then went up to the balcony area for the rest of the show. Wasn't much seating in the balcony, so sat on a little wall/ledge thing. It was nice having a bar (with a very short line) for the transitions between bands. Otherwise, I would have gone a little crazy. Transitions were short and smooth though. The venue was not what I had expected. I had to go on Facebook to see pictures of the inside of the venue, but the pictures were not true to how it looks now. As far as Copeland went, all around great too. It was great to see them one last time on their Farewell Tour. A good combination of old and new songs. I would have liked to see more older songs, but it was still a great setlist. I was very pleased.

This is the fourth time I've seen Copeland live, and this was definitely my favorite show. Although, I was extremely sad it was their farewell tour, and the last time I'd ever see them live, it was the most unforgettable experience. They didn't miss a beat. No broken strings, no technical difficulties (or none that I noticed). They just played their little hearts out, and coincidentally, played my all-time favorite songs! All in all, best concert I've ever been to. Love you, Copeland!!! <3

As far as indie and alternative rock bands go, I would say Copeland is up there with the best of them. Anyone that doesn't think so has no idea what real music is. This being their farewell tour is really a sad thing though. They played a great set mixed with older and newer music. I just wish that they were going to be sticking around to make more of it! This is only the 2nd time I've seen them, though I've been a fan for about the past 4 years. The thing I like best about them is they perform great live. It doesn't sound exactly like the CDs which might disappoint some people, but it shouldn't because it has a more passionate sound to it live. At this show that was definitely the case. I almost cried when they played 'Brightest' from their first album Beneath Medicine Tree. Great show. Emotionally charged, and the crowd was really good too. At the end of it all they said "We were Copeland" and that was all...Hope one day they get back together to do a reunion tour or something or I'll be really sad...
