Overall, it was a good show. Nas was great! He performed with lots of energy, connected well with the crowd, and showed appreciation to his band and the crowd. Lauren was Lauren. As usual, she was late, but not as late as when I saw her at HOB, and she seemed disconnected from the audience. But, for the most part, she performed well.

Two of my favorite artists, (Lauryn Hill and Nas) a great nite of music and fun! The sound was perfect as always and things moved in a timely manner. Loved the surprise appearance by Diddy. Still struggle to leave the venue in a timely manner but it's just s minor inconvenience since everything else is wonderful. This was my 2nd out of 3 concerts at the Bowl this week. Many more to come

I was leery of seeing Ms. Hill, given her recent performance history but decided to take a risk as Nas and Dave Chappelle are reliably entertaining. They did not disappoint, and Nas' high energy set was tons of old school fun. Even Lauren Hill was good, though as is her rep, she took forever to come out, delaying the show and ultimately resulting in her mic getting cut off at 11 in the middle of her set when the venue was set to close. Despite that, the show overall was a great night out, and worth taking the chance on Ms. Hill.

Despite being "phone free" This concert was great. Nas & Lauryn Hill two of the giants of 90's Hip Hop put on a great show. Dave Chapelle made a surprise appearance as opening to keep the crowd laughing while the stage was being set up. It was a little cold but after a few beers you didn't notice lol. Nas still had the fire even at 40+ to hang with any rapper today. Lauryn was engaged and fully aware of her talents as she sang/fired off songs from her solo set and with the Fugees. Totally worth it!

Overall great show. There was some lag time between Nas and Lauryn Hill with time filled by a DJ. DJ was also good but it caused the last song of the show to get cut off. Otherwise would highly recommend.

When I purchased the tickets, Hannibal Buress was on the bill, along with Nas and Ms. Lauryn Hill. However, the day of the the show, I received an email regarding no cell phones at the show. As we stood in line the enter, we overheard other concert goers that Dave Chappelle would be here. I didn't believe it. So, after DJ Green Lantern hyped up the crowd, on the 1's and 2's. They introduced Dave Chappelle indeed. He did an hour of new stand-up material. Nas ripped the show, as well as Ms. Lauryn Hill. If they returned with this same lineup, I would go see them again. My wife and I enjoyed the show!!!

Nas and Lauryn hill's presence was powerful and they put on an amazing show. I'm so grateful to have been there. But my 1 star goes to freedom hill for leaving a sour taste in my mouth at the end. They cut off the mic during the encore of If I Ruled The World, the most anticipated song of the night! I had a great time but I will never go to freedom hill again that was completely disrespectful to two legends who filled their venue.

Nas put on a great show and engaged the audience as he took us through his catalog. Ms. Lauren Hill had noticeable sound issues, most notably, the band overshadowed her vocals as they were muffled at best. Lauren Hill's vocals shined during acapella stints in the performance but otherwise, the sound left much to be desired. In their defense, this was the first show of their tour so maybe the kinks will be worked out in future shows.

Chronixx was a fine opening act filled with great reggae music. NAS brought the energy and had the crowd hyped, but I've never been a fan. NAS could headline this tour without Lauryn. Note to Ms Lauryn: JUST SING!! And sing the songs the way that your fans love. Lauryn had way too many band members, complained the whole time like they were doing something wrong, and sang her hits but they were all rocked out and unrecognizable. Lauryn is a fine rapper in her own right but singing should be her number 1 priority. The fans sat down on Lauryn but as soon as NAS returned the hype and energy returned.

I got the tickets for my husband's bday. We planned ahead, got a sitter for our 9month old and were excited to enjoy a rare night out. Show said it started at 6:30p, we got in and seated around 6:50p knowing shows always start late. Well we sat for TWO AND A HALF HOURS, watched a rapper opening act, an English Congoleese comedian that was terrible, an ENTIRE set from a really talented Reggae band and then a strange 'woke' style video showcasing donations being put to work with lots of racial injustice depictions (?).....we left at almost 10pm WITHOUT SEEING NAS OR LAUREN HILL. We simply ran out of time. Waste of $225 and a date night. Wish I could get a refund.

The venue was a warehouse, which to me, is never good. The sound wasn't great. You had to drink your drinks in the drink section...not that big of a deal but whatever. The main problem was that L Hill literally remixed her entire CD the Miseducation of Lauren Hill. More like the misunderstanding.....it was just all bad. I don't know anyone who wants to go to a concert and hear completely different songs than expected. A complete disappointment. Nobody was dancing near me and we left early and so did a lot of others.

This collabo was fire from the day If I Ruled The World came out and was just as amazing for the tour. I also really enjoyed the theme and images displayed on the screen behind the performances and the message being delivered! The set was perfect for both performers and the mix between performances was perfect. They came together at the very end for the final performance and after that we got to meet them! My only creative feedback would be for VIP. I definitely recommend VIP for the meet and greet however for the venue and event I feel that VIP should be a bit more exclusive given the money spent. More specifically being able to have a superstar line to get in the venue, more comfortable seats and the option to have food and drinks delivered to your VIP area. What we had was just the first two rows of seats closer to the stage separated by security. Once security left for the last couple of songs everyone mobbed up and climbed over our seats to the stage. While VIP could be improved by Live Nation and Ticketmaster, the performance was still unforgettable!

My friends and I got the lawn tickets and were really impressed. It was an awesome setting and didn't feet the need to have purchased the inside sitting tickets as we could still see the artists perform. Besides the little rain that fell that night, it didn't stop us from enjoying ourselves. All one really needed was a blanket and you were good to go.

This concert was amazing! Nas rocked his set list and put it down for the crowd! The shocker was Lauryn Hill. I know she has received a lot of criticism in the past regarding her punctuality and her overall performance but that didn't seem to be a problem this time around. She really put up a great performance and it was nothing short of extraordinary. Looking back at it, this tour was probably a once in a lifetime duo performance and I'm glad I was able to witness it.

Nas was the best part of this event. He was great and hasn't lost anything over the years. Dave Chappelle was hilarious. But his ridiculous request to lock up our cell phones was a joke. Those neoprene cell phone pouches were laying all over the ground within an hour of our arrival. Unfortunately, Lauryn Hill was the worst part of this event. She has not kept up with her craft and her voice was gravely and faint. She kept coughing and turning away from the mic. She left the stage after just a few songs and Nas came out to save her. She came back after a while and sounded a little better, but was still really disappointing over all. In spite of that, I would still recommend the show and the venue.

I read stories before going regarding MLH often being late...so I was worried...but she came out on time and met all of my expectations 20 years in the making! She did change much of the arrangements of songs, but addressed that by saying because she has not put out music in a while, she wanted to present something new sounding for her fans. I respect that! She did sing Ex-factor and To Zion in original form and that made my heart happy!! NAS was amazing & Chappelle...c'mon...what an amazing last minute added bonus! Hilarious as always! The show was a roller coaster of a ride...in an amazing way! ❤❤

This was a phenomenal show!!! Get used to the rearranged music, people don't want to keep doing the same songs the same way. They weren't even arranged that much! Lauryn and Nas were really great. ALL the opening acts were great too. Diddy is crazy! lol. It's amazing how Lauryn is able to remix these songs!! It's like she literally dissects them and takes an element out of the song, makes it a central feature and then builds the remix around that, it's dope! Wonderful time, great energy and great cause. I enjoyed both Lauren Hill and NAS, the wait between the opening act and NAS was too long., it s obvious just since the Playboy Jazz Festival there have been some changes, this time I set in section E, great seats and access for a friend who has an injured leg. That being said, with the fact you have to be out of the Hollywood Bowl by 11pm, the acts have to be on time...it seems NAS had to come out because Ms Hill was either not there or not ready...as I said, once on the stage the music was great!!

Nick Grant was the opening act. I m an old hip hop head who admits that I feel out of love with Hip Hop a long time ago. I m not really up on new artists so I didn t know who Nick Grant was. Looking around the arena, it was obvious that many others did. By the end of his seat, I liked him enough to look him up on Tidal. He s got a nice flow. I ll definitely be checking out more of his music. Chronixx was next and he was nothing short of amazing! I saw Damian Marley a week before at the House of Blues in Houston so I was still on my high of the positive vibes. Chronixx just added to that. And now for the headliners, Nas performed first. Love him. Never seen him in concert. Even though I m an old hip hop head, I haven t attended many concerts. I m more of a full band kinda girl, so if The Roots ain t on the set, chances are I ain t going. But this was Nas and he was with Lauryn Hill, so… The DJ kicked ass! Nas reminded us that all he needs is One Mic. I attended the concert with my 17 year old daughter, this was her first concert so she was super hyped! I was briefly surprised that she was mouthing the lyrics, but then I remembered, she grew up with her dad and I playing this stuff around the house so of course she knows. After 30 minutes to an hour, I lost track of time, Nas left the stage. A DJ played while the band did last minute set up. Once the stage hands left the stage, the DJ kept playing. I began to get a little anxious because I d heard the rumors about Lauryn being extremely late. Not like 10, 15 minutes, but hours. It was a school night and being the bad parent that I am, I was contributing to my daughter not getting a good night s rest, but it was Lauryn Hill so… Just as I was getting tired of the DJ, the stage goes black. Our eyes are fixated on the images on the projector, there s drumming. As the images flash by and the drumming climaxes it gives you the sense of running. You envision yourself running? Running where you say? I dunno, just running. Running towards your freedom, running away from captivity, just running. And just when it feels like you can t run no more. There she is… Ms. Lauryn Hill. Maybe it was the recent reviews that I ve read or the stories of her being late and discombobulated on stage but I was expecting to see a beautiful mess, a train wreck but she was nothing like that. She looked as beautiful and as regal as ever. Yes some of the arrangements are different. Rumor has it that she lost the rights to play the songs in they were recorded. She explained that she does it because it s been 20 years since she s created and she just wants to keep it fresh. For the fans as well as for self. Although I was hoping that she would hint at new music on the way, she made no mention of this. Oh and just in case you forgot that she was originally a rapper, she reminded us that she was still L-Boogie and that While U be imitating Al Capone, I be Nina Simone… I heard someone compare her to Fu Schnickens and I thought, Is that a bad thing? She performed for a while. How long? Not sure, I wasn t keeping track of it. Nas came back during her break. Then Lauryn took the stage again. Even though she did a different version of X-Factor earlier, she came back and did the original version as well as the original version of That Thing . Nas joined her on stage and they did If I Ruled the World together as the final song. Overall the show lasted about 3 hours. Overall, this was an amazing show that lasted about 3 hours. As far as the songs not sounding the way you expect them, it s live music. If you ve ever seen Prince or Mint Condition in concert, you ll know that it s not uncommon for artists to change it up. Listen, if you want to hear the album, listen to the album but if you appreciate real music, raw emotion, and true artistry, Be sure to get your ticket, baby don t you miss it… Only old school R&B lovers will get that reference. Peace,

The sound system was horrible. HORRIBLE. Super excited to see NAS and Lauryn perform. Lauryn's performance was a bit boring. Could hardly recognize any of her songs... like the genre of her music changed. Too much instruments and not enough performance. It was quite boring. Was a bit disappointed. I've been a fan of Nas for umptin years now so just seeing him hold a mic was more than satisfying for me. He kept the crowd engaged. Would have loved to see a bit more from him though as in put on a show... an entertainment. But I love NAS so... Will I pay to see this Lauryn Hill/NAS concert again? Nahhhhhhh! Will I go see Nas perform again.. maybe but that's just because I'm a super fan and would love to give him a 2nd chance

Nas went on and instantly blew the roof off of the place when he brought out DMX as a special guest. Amazing! He spit fire for 30 minutes and then walked off stage to allow Lauren Hill to perform. It took Lauren over 45 mins to get on stage. By then the crowd was getting anxious. She eventually won the crowd back but when t came time to perform her Fugees hits (Ready or Not, Killing me Softly) she didn't sing her parts well. She insisted on either singing it differently or having the crowd sing. Big let down. She finished and Nas came right back out and went HAM for another 30 mins. The crowd was electric. He stopped and brought Lauren Hill out to sing "If I ruled the World". As they began the finale, the microphones cut off and the lights came on. Lauren and Nas gave each other confused looks, shook their heads, bowed to the crowd, and walked off stage. The crowd was in disbelief. The only reason the two of them tour together is to perform this one song and they crowd wasn't going to hear it. HUGE let down. But at least we all got to listen to 45 mins of the warm up DJ playing 90s rap hit while Lauren Hill was icing the crowd after Nas and DMX pumped us up.

The venue was perfect, the line up was extremely complementing. Chronixx & band was awesome their music was perfect for the night. Later in the night Chronixx did a marvelous job coming out to perform with the DJ. The DJ did a good job keeping the energy during the show as performers switched off and on the stage. Nas rocked with his performance he had great stage presence. Ms. Lauryn Hill rocked the show she performed a lot of her older songs in a mash up her bands solo was beyond words, off the hook, marvelous. I would have liked to see Lauryn Hill perform the majority of her old songs in the original format as we know how extraordinary her music sounds. She did seem to have some trouble in the beginning getting her voice to be not over powered by the music, but she took control of the matter and sounded clearer after some time. Other than that Lauryn gave a stellar performance. Lauryn Hill & Nas duet was beyond awesome they killed it. If they were playing again the next day I would have went back for a second night. You guys make a great line up, please come back to the Jax.

Beautiful evening and awesome music. MLH and NAS was a dream come true. NAS turned up and not a soul was sitting. Classic Lauryn. Just glad she returned to touring. Dave Chappelle was on point. Great time.

Great show seating was tighter than expected for upfront seating. Great acts made up for discomfort. Still love showbox or Moore for act like this...intimacy and up close access was lost!

The venue was horrible. Who wants to pay all that money to sit in an assigned seat when you would rather be singing and dancing... Lauryn barely sang, she "rapped" all her songs, all the beats were rearranged and a live band played the full set. Nas was dope, I paid for an overpriced VIP meet and greet/ after party and it was lame, just stood in line forever with a bunch of other people waiting to get an autograph and then was rushed out...

If you are expecting to hear the soulful sound of Lauren Hill, this show will disappoint you. She sung all of her songs to an upbeat fast tempo and it made it very difficult to follow along and catch on to the beat of the song. I feel that it was a waste of money. It sucks because I absolutely loved her voice and message on Miseducation, you won't really get to hear her vocals in this show.

Only waited about 40 minutes for Lauryn Hill to get on stage. I have previously waited on her for 3 hours. She hit the stage and was amazing! Nas, Chronixx and Nick Grant we all excellent as well.

Chronixx and NAS were outstanding performances. The sound was crystal clear. Ms. Hill's performance was okay, considering the sound distortion and the rearranged classics she thought would be cutting-edge.

I saw Ms Lauren Hill appox 2007 in Las vegas, that show was so great. She had a reggae flavor. Since then I had been reading a lot of bad reviews. ?Her show, her lyrics are much faster than before, but still dope. She was on time. She still has BARS! She spit those rhyme lyrics so well. Nas was excellent. He has so many hits. I love how Nas came out, then Lauren. Then Nas again and Lauren for the finale. Then they closed the show with if I ruled the world . Wonderful band. Wonderful effects and backgrown. The dj was dope.!the backgrown singers were good. Kronnixx was good too!

Nas was amazing, Lauren Hill was meh. She s too self important to sing her songs the way her fans remember them. No better way to deflate the excitement of a crowd than to remix all of your songs and sing them in a manner no one is familiar with. The venue, the Hollywood Bowl is an incredible place to see a show and an honor to perform at. Nas deserved the stage, Lauren did not.

MLH was not what I expected nor wanted. All of her songs were modified and seem like she was in a hurry spittin the lyrics. Couldn't understand her half the time and then she kept messing with her head set and looking crazy. Her voice sounds like DMX. Very disppointed! Loved NAS as always put on a fantastic performance!

I bought tickets to initially hear Lauryn Hill, her music was the soundtrack of my high school years. To me she was the Nina Simone of the 90 . I was extremely disappointed in her. Not only was she late, she appeared to spend a significant portion of her set doing what appeared to be a sound check. It was clear to me that the quality of her voice has diminished. I ve read previous reviews of her being historically late, but I wanted to see and experience her for myself. Major disappointment, and waste of my time and money. Nas was excellent! Although I m not a huge fan, appreciate the fact that he clearly covered for her, as it was evident she wasn t at her best. Although, I still live the Lauryn Hill of my youth, I d never pay to see her perform again.

Lauryn won't sing her songs the way it sounds! She changes the keys, melody, instruments so much that a lot of these songs were either unrecognizable or hard to sing along to. I appreciate artists who try new renditions, but sometimes you just want to hear the song the way it was recorded.

The Hollywood bowl remains one of my favorite venues. Usually all artists start and end on time which I appreciate. Nas started almost an hour late although his performance was good. Lauryn Hill I knew was going to be a hit or miss and she missed the target completely. Her voice sounded terrible, her style/stage presence was incredibly lacking. I will definitely never pay to see her perform again & left early. Nas played a very short set, who knows how long Lauryn Hill played for because again I could not bear to stay any longer. Only disappointing show at the Bowl.

Have been a fan of both Nas and Lauryn Hill for quite some time - I was a bit more excited to see Lauryn than Nas as I had been to a Nas performance before. Nas started the show with a short maybe 20-30 min set and then we waited at least a half hour for Lauryn to take the stage. She seemed frustrated with her the sound from her mic or earphones and just kind of mumbled through her songs - there was no engagement with the audience at all. All in all it was a bit of a let down, I thought the back up singers sounded better than she did. Nas however is a great performer and really carried the show. In the end it definitely was not worth waiting 2 hours in traffic and paying for expensive parking outside of the Bowl. Sad to say but I would definitely skip this one...

Nas was awesome and played all the great hits. I'm very disappointed with Lauryn. Her miseducation album is definitely the best album ever and should not be messed with. She has made so many adjustments to the original songs that they are not recognizable when she performs them. She is so talented and skilled. Her vocals are the greatest. I'm not sure as to why she would feel the need to make so many changes to her music when it was already great to begin with.
