STOMP (NY)

Stomp is explosive, provocative, sophisticated, sexy, utterly unique, and appeals to audiences of all ages. The international percussion sensation has garnered an armful of awards and rave reviews, and has appeared on numerous national television shows. The eight-member troupe uses everything but conventional percussion instruments--matchboxes, wooden poles, brooms, garbage cans, Zippo lighters, hubcaps--to fill the stage with magnificent rhythms.

We surprised our 15 yo daughter with this show on our last night in NYC. She loves music, percussion and theatre. She was simply amazing as was my husband who is not much of a theatre fan. She said it was one of her top things to experience in NYC. At the end of the show two of the performers will stand and take pics with fans. It was, by far, the best show we have ever seen.

I took my 9 year old granddaughter to see Stomp and she was enthralled. The players are talented as well as amusing. This is a show that is great for all ages. I'd seen Stomp before but it was just as much fun for me this second time.

we come from Italy and I wanted to offer a musical to my kids of 11 and 14 years old. They were so involved, amused, happy that I was the happiest mother in the world. We bought the DVD and we are going to watch it together in Italy. And we'll try to come back to see other musicals in NYC as soon as we can. We are sure that STOMP will have a long success in future and we hope to see it in Europe soon.

The cast works really hard. They are very coordinated and work very well together to make some amazing sounds and display how ordinary things can be used to make music (percussion). Great job. My daughter turned 10 and asked to see the show. She remembered seeing a Sesame Street special where some of the cast from Stomp performed. This was my 3rd time seeing it. I think they added some new things, but I was still amazed and entertained as was my wife.

My wife and I along with our two teenage children (ages 19 and 16) saw this and were totally AMAZED at the sheer raw talent these performaners have ! The comedy that was sprinkled through the event made it even more enjoyable if that is possible! TWO THUMBS UP ( WELL 8 THUMBS FROM THIS FAMILY ) !! A must see!

My wife and I always thought about going and we finally went to see Stomp for our 17th anniversary. It was an Incredible show! We absolutely loved it! Amazingly, the performers did not say 1 word but were still very funny. We laughed all show. We had great seats (4th row) BUT the theatre is small in comparison to Broadway theatres. We could've saved a few dollars, sat further back and still had great seats. We're going again this summer...and bringing it kids with us. They'll love it!

I expected a great show off music made from everyday items and was not disappointed. Along with an outstanding musical performance, the show brought a level of comedy that I had not expected from a music show. The entire performance was exciting, never slowed down, grabbed your attention and never let go! Moments of comedy were so well played and seamlessly enterwoven into the performance even the performers couldn't contain their grins and laughs! Lived the way the audience was brought into the performance to clap in response, even that added adrenaline for the show! Bottom line, LOVED EVERY SECOND OF STOMP!!!

My son knows who Stomp is from his video tape, but I surprised him with tickets as a belated birthday gift. HE WAS ALMOST AS EXCITED AS I WAS and this was at LEAST my 5th or 6th time to see Stomp! We would go again any time!! I would like to see a litlte more variety since I've seen almost all of their skits. Amazing show even if I have seen it before!!! :) I'd still go again!

Absolutely amazing show from start to finish!! There's no intermission so go to the bathroom before it starts. The theater is on the small side but it's great for interacting with the cast as they so often do throughout the show. Will definitely go see again!!

I had previously seen the show in Vegas. Enjoyed it so much wanted to see it again. Took my two sons and daughter. At 15, 13, and 8 keeping their attention is a challenge on anything but the TV or video games. They were focused for 90 mins of incredible action and music. They wanted more when the show was over. Great show for all ages.

This show was amazing, outstanding and by far the best show I've seen in a long time. The performers have incredible dedication to the art and craft of making sounds, and music with their hearts and souls. The lead dancer John Angeles was by far the most talented performer on stage. I couldn't take my eyes off him! The energy within the whole show....it had sweat, energy, sexy men, humor, and above all, we were front row in all this action! I felt as if I was on stage with them! I danced in my seat, clapped, bounced! It was electrifying, intense, sexy and unforgettable. I WILL be coming back and seeing this show again!

I have seen STOMP 7 times now! I enjoy it every time. Took my 9 year old grandson and watching him laugh and smile was great! My son 21, and husband also made a return visit with me. His first time was when he was 14 years old. It's always great taking pictures with the cast at the end of the show. I love how they always add something new! Did I mention that I am 60 years old. Great show for all ages!!

Three days later we are still talking about Stomp. The exuberance, vitality, unexpected humour and all without an audible word spoken are powerful embedded in my conscience. The performance actually changed the way I see the world--a ktichen sink will never be the same nor a cigarette lighter--you have dignified the small and unnoticed and given life to the lifeless, right down to the contents of a garbage bag!! We loved it!!

We decided to take our 5 yr old son, a budding drummer and all things percussion, a second time to watch the show so that his dad could finally see what all the fuss what about. We were happy to see a few changes done to the show, and a few different "instruments" being used, like the accordion pipes, and grocery carts. The Stompers were just as lively, funny, and entertaining as ever, and our son was equally amazed by the whole show. All in all, it was a thrill to see Stomp again, and we will probably keep bringing new people to the show every time we get the chance... word of mouth just doesn't do it justice. You must experience STOMP in person!

This was the 4th time I've seen Stomp. I'm like a disciple who brings groups of kids, visiting family and friends. It was wonderful. Aspects stay the same but they're always changing nuances that make the show fresh. I'm a percussion lover so this always pleases my taste. There's a great mixture of fine rhythm, bangin it out and humor. Listen seeing a show 4 times is enough evidence that I love it.

My son made Honor Roll his First semester of middle school and I wanted to reward him with something special~ taking him to see Stomp was the Greatest Reward... For the both if us!!! We had a Blast!!!! My 11 yr old son LOVED the show!!! He was kissing me all the way to the car and saying 'Thank You soooo much mommy'... It was also really cool that he got Picts with some of the cast after the show~ that put an even Greater End to our lil' mother/son date... Thank You so Much!!!

Fabulous music. Wonderful choreography. Good humor. Horrible seats! Had balcony seating- if you're taller than 5'5, you will have problems sitting comfortably- especially in the front row of balcony. I'm 5'11, my sister is 5'7. We had to change seats, which were only better because there wasn't a bar digging into our shins any more. Seating was also partially obstructed by the bars that were hurting my legs. But the show itself was very up beat & fun!

This show was awesome! I took my twelve year old son to see it and he could not sit still. The cast made us feel as if we were part of the actual show and not just members of the audience. They kept us laughing and entertained throughout the whole show. The cast was extremely creative and interacted with the crowd every chance they had.

Wow! What a show! As a drummer myself this show literally ticked every box for me. It's a perfect example of how rhythm can present musicality! Ever heard someone tapping on a table? Watch this show and you'll get why drummers do that!!! Not only were the rhythms and musicality fantastic but the show was very well rehearsed - pretty much flawless. It was also great to see so much humour packed into the show when there were no speaking parts! The performers truly are people of many talents! Dancers, percussionists, musicians, comedians... Wow! If you're in New York and want a truly unique show, go watch Stomp! The venue itself was a great venue, very personal and immersive and very apt. The show also utilises the space excellently (I won't give too much away). Finally, did I mention this was one of the best shows I've ever seen? Oh yeah - I did!!!

Stomp is exactly what it is....a New York City Hit. This is the first show that I have ever seen where no words were spoken. Yet the message was loud and clear/ Within all of us and everything that we may consider garbage or useless is a rhythm / beat waiting to get out. All we have to do is utlize our creative minds to bring it out. This show is awesome for kids, family and people of all ages.

Show was phenomenal! Not only are the performers extremely talented, we got upgraded FOR FREE to the front row! We originally were in Row X!!!! Theater is super small but its perfect for this type of performance. Each of the members are talented in their own way and the sounds they make with their bodies and with non-instrumental objects is just INSANE!

I have been wanting to see Stomp since I was in high school and finally 20 years later I got the opportunity and was not disappointed. Not one word was spoken by the cast but they told many stories about the human condition through rhythm, sound and expression. My kids ages 3,5,7,and 9 all loved it too! They were mesmerized from beginning to end..they didn't even ask where the popcorn was!! Ha ha!

I attended the 3pm showing with my 6 year old (this was his Christmas gift since he is drawn to beats and music). To watch my son in awe the entire performance is the best feeling in the world. He also leaned in half way through the performance and told me this was the best gift ever, which is a lot coming from someone born in the electronic loving generation. The energy between the cast members was fun & playful yet they were able to skillfully execute each set which allowed you to become entranced even though there's no dialect. I would see it again tomorrow if I could. Highly recommend it!!! Ps sorry about the photos, they won't flip. Besides being sideways, that was our view lol

My husband and I saw this show before in a larger theater, so we were skeptical at first with the smaller venue. However, that skepticism immediately subsided when the performance began:) This show was AMAZING and funny! The performers were incredibly talented. They totally get the audience involved and kept you wanting more. My 77 year old mother and 10 year old son absolutely LOVED it♡♡♡ We even got pictures with a couple of the performers after the show:) One of our favorite highlights on our trip to NYC!

Spent the weekend in NYC. Saw this performance on Saturday 2/21 and holy wow. Blown away! The coordination was impeccable. And the funny twist they did truly made the performance. I recommend seeing them in your lifetime. Million stars!

I've been watching STOMP clips on DVD and Youtube for years -- it was finally time to see the real thing. The crew did not disappoint. I was very impressed by the show and my knee was bouncing the entire time.

STOMP!....I have to tell you that I was quite skeptical about going to this show, but my daughter really wanted to see it. (it was one of four on her short list) So, everything fell into place and we went to the show last night. It is playing at the Orpheum in the East village (great location) which is a tiny venue but very intimate. The current cast is perfect and they each bring their own persona to the stage and project it magnificently. It's certainly not Improv but you would never know it and the crowd interaction is pulled off to perfection. They had us rockin' and rollin' from the start to the very end and it took everything to keep me in my seat. They really had me wanting to jump up and strut my stuff! LOL! I can't say enough about the quality of this current production, the cast, the choreography, and the set. Do yourself a favor; Go see it! ,,,,Heck, it was so good, I might even go again!

As a music teacher, I've been watching STOMP for years and was so happy to get the tickets before our recent trip to NYC. The show was incredible! Loved the STOMP standards: the brooms and basketballs, but was so impressed with the variety of music performed--without one instrument or spoken word! We clapped, we laughed, we enjoyed! My teenage daughter even said she enjoyed it much more than she thought she would (high praise from a teen!). Would recommend this show to anyone visiting NYC!

I went with 7 girlfriends and we all enjoyed this play immensely! The music they produced with such a wide variety of everyday things was just incredible and so entertaining. The cast kept us engaged and amused. There were several young children in the audience and their laughter was an added joy to behold. I would highly recommend seeing STOMP!!! to everyone of all ages!!

I have watched their performance many times on TV, but it doesn't hold a candle to the live performance. I took my son (5), my brother (12), and my dad; and we all loved it! It's a great show for all ages! We will definitely be going if they decided to come to our area again!

This was the third time we've seen this show, but it had been a long time since the last show. It was just as entertaining as the first two times we'd seen it, if not more so. Any time they're in town, we will do whatever we can to see this wonderfully entertaining show! Fun for the whole family!

I look my son who is in the high school band (percussion team) for his 16th birthday and HE LOVED IT! STOMP is like nothing you've ever seen before. It is funny and energizing and the antics are amazing. The crowd really got into it.

I had seen STOMP some 16+ years ago in Detroit and when I saw they were coming to Grand Rapids I knew I had to get tickets for my kids to see them.The tickets were purchased as birthday gifts and it was their first real show or concert which they absolutely loved. Great venue, great seats, and awesome first experience for my son 15 and daughter 11. Hopefully it sets the stage for them to enjoy going to more performances on a large scale.

This is the second time I've gone to see Stomp. What can I say? It is beyond anything anyone would imagine. We had incredible seats, (second row orchestra) where we could actually see the beads of sweat on the performers faces. The theater was packed, every seat taken!! I took my friend as a birthday gift to her, and she was literally blown away. I know it will be something she will talk about and remember for a very long time. Speaking for myself... I am a fan of Stomp and always will be!! I would recommend it to EVERYONE!!

In the late 90's I watched Stomp on television and was fascinated. I always wanted to see them perform live and I was not disappointed. My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed not only the performance, but the setting of the Mahaffey Theater and the quiet professionalism of the staff. What amazing and inspirational talent the Stomp members have. An afternoon well spent!

I've been told many times by many people what a great show STOMP is and now I can totally and completely agree. I took Kellie to see STOMP in St. Pete, FL. WOW barely begins to do it justice. A simply breathtaking display of musical talent without using a single musical instrument. Kellie and I were both jaw dropped in amazment at what STOMP can do. The sounds, lighting and timing is simply beyond words. STOMP is simply PHENOMENAL!!!

My 'significant other' Hollywood legend Garrett Morris and I missed 'Stomp!' @ The Pantages Theatre in Hollywood where we live (it sold SO quickly that I couldn't get the seats I wanted) so we drove to The Grove in Anaheim to see the show. It is absolutely amazing! The show is edgy, avant garde, funny and demonstrative of comedy, dance and percussion talent that is simply over the top. The show is interactive and comfortable. The performers are having a great time and so are we the audience. If you 'love to hear percussion' do NOT miss this show! (special thanks to performer Elec Simon...you know why!) I am a huge music fan, being a musician myslef, and I thoroughly enjoyed this show. Not only did the show have an amazing set of musical performers, it combined comedy with music which made the performace unforgettable. I took a friend who had never been to a show like this and he absolutely loved it. I would highly recommend this event to others.

STOMP was such an amazing show!! I enjoyed every minute of it! The performers were all in sync and powerful. They engaged with the audience and made my toes tap with them. The show was funny as well. The show was absolutely entertaining! I recommend everyone to see this spectacular show when they arrive in your town!

This was a really great show. It was engaging without any dialogue. The characters came through, and they all had really strong performances. I sat way up top, and the view was still great. The Pantages Theater is a beautiful venue and has great sound. If you can, go out and see it! P.S. There is a really great Irish Pub next door. Cheap beer and great food

Whou, that's all we have to say. People go and see it wile its here in L.A. Phenomenal in every aspect of Musical. What talent of musicians in the most basic of instrumental performance. Stunningly simple with acrobatic brilliance and a gift for rhythm.
