Listening to them via a CD, iPod, etc. is good, but seeing them in person is waaaayyyy better! The musicians are incredibly talented and each person interacts with the audience very well. The show is worth more than the ticket price!

It was a wonderful night of adult entertainment. The Ritz staff was accommodating and seem to work like a well oiled machine. The Director was entertaining and informative. And last but not least, Pieces of a Dream were fabulous. Can't wait until October 2, 2010.

Pieces Of A Dream is undoubedly the best contemporary/jazz band in the universe. No other band can surpass them. Their playing energizes the WHOLE and audience--never a dull moment when they are playing. Once you hear/see Pieces Of A Dream play you don't want the show to end. The audience can't help by ask for more!!! You will definitely want to see them perform again and again.

Excellent Show / Pieces always performs at a high level- and I expect nothng less. The addition of exceptional guitarist Rohn Lawrence is a definite bonus. Good balance of old and new / I'm old school so of course I could've used a little more old...But great show all the same.

They played many of thier new tunes but they went back in the day with 4,5,4 and some other oldies such as some BlackByrd tunes. The place was really electric and the sax man came into the audience and played. Great show!

The show was excellent! Each of the musicians did their thing and all were exceptional. I'm a saxophone lover and was initially intrigued by this young, tall, huge man (forget his name), but the keyboard, bass, guitar, and drummer were equally as good. Their music took me to another place, I felt and saw their spirit! Words cannot describe what I felt and where they took me, but I would highly recommend buying their new CD and also going to see them in person.

I was totally mesmerized by this awesome band! The Birchmere venue was intimate and I felt as though they were playing solely for me. The music that they play is timeless and I am so happy that I got to see them. I can't wait till they come back to my hometown!

I surprised my friend with tickets to the show which I assumed would be a pleasant evening. Peices of a Dream exceeded my expectations It was a great show. A band full of accomplished musicians !! We enjoyed every song performed They even threw in a Lil Rolling Stones Loved it!

The event was outstanding. Pieces of a Dream put on a stellar performance. They all are gifted musicians. The food was excellent, venu cozy with good seats, service was good, drinks were great. Leaving parking is always problematic however. But somehow it s worth it.

Pieces of the dream was incredible! Talk about an intimate venue and boy did they get intimate with us! The musicianship, the skill of all the members, the atmosphere, nothing short of amazing. Pieces of A Dream has so many hits and great music, that i was disappointed when they gave half of their stage time to other performers. they were fine but i paid to hear Pieces, NOT them. Ergo, they weren't able to play many of their hits. What time they did play was awesome.

The venue, Doubletree Hilton Ballroom was great for the show. There wasn't a bad seat in the house. The acoustics were awesome, the two teleprompter screens provided a great "up close and personal" view. I appreciated having a short intermission. Absolutely loved Kim Waters performance, Nic Colionne is always awesome, Eric Roberson, what can I say, he is one of a kind and fabulous performer. I love when he makes up songs based on words shouted out from the audience. Pieces of a Dream has always been my favorite all time group for the 42 years of their marvelous career. They always perform with such energy, mixing classics with new work and always provide each musician with an opportunity to shine individually. What can I say, I'm a fan!

This was as far by one of the best performances at Berk's Jazz Festival on 7 April 2018. The energy of Pieces of a Dream was awesome. The Sax player Tony Watson, Jr. was phenomenal. He had one "hell of" a solo. He brought the passion and talent, that drew the audience in and put the crowd on their feet. Also, Pieces of Dream had a percussionist who was equally magnificent. The percussionist's showmanship and musical ability, left the audience in awe. DC native Dave Dyson thumping on the bass guitar had the crowd bobbing and weaving their heads. James Lloyd and Curtis Harmon performance always raise the bar. Their 42 year friendship and working relationship was evident in their ability to anticipate each other move. Pieces of a Dream has lived up to their name!

This was essentially a two set - 2.5 hour performance- and it was great. First set featured Eric Roberson, Nick Colionne, and Kim Waters each playing with Pieces of Dream. In part I assume as James Lloyd either produced or wrote material for their current albums. After a break Pieces of a Dream then performed "solo". It as a great mix of old and new finishing up with James Lloyd in the audience playing his version of Purple Rain.

Marion meadows and Paul Taylor too short. Should have omitted ms sunshine and the gentleman before. The concert was tooo long. I came to see pieces of a dream and had to leave before the end . A 6 pm concert should not be 5 + hours long. I was disappointed. Either start earlier or limit talent. Sunday is not a night to have such a long concert. This put a damper on my present to husband for Father!s Day

The show was SPECTACULAR!!! all of the artist were GREAT! The sound was Great, there was not a lot of downtime, The stage was quickly set up in between shows. All of the artist Played!! They were on point, upbeat, entertaining and fun. All of them kept us rocking. I really enjoyed this show. Most of the artists are some of my favorites....Jonathan Butler, Marc Antoine, Paul Taylor, Marion Meadows, Pieces of a Dream. There were two R & B artists, as well, who performed well. Due to the many artists on the lineup, there was a time limit for each so I felt that each performance was a bit rushed but the music was great!

I didn't know what I was getting into when I agreed to go to this concert. I can honestly say it was a great experience. I wish I knew about this group ages ago, their perform was superb. The energy of the group was excellent and the music was so pleasing to the ears. Great Jazz group to take a date to and relax.

Outstanding show with original and local artist who performed at their maximum performance! Their musicianship and style definitely pleased the crowd and even played one more song after the end of their set because of the audiences chant of more, more, more! This is extreme quality entertainment in a relaxing atmosphere of great music, good food, and fun for all. Prior to the performance, the socialization of strangers was just as fun, as everyone enjoyed each others company and deep laughs! I truly enjoyed this concert, I've seen these guys many times in the past and they never disappoint. However, I was not impressed with Chanta Moore, she took forever to finally come on stage, then talked more than sang and that made the horrible service from our waitress put a bad taste in my mouth. But when Pieces of a Dream started their set, everything was right!

Both pieces of dream and chante moore seemed like were just stalling talking trying to get through set. Especially chante moore who didn't even bother to bring backup singers, which I thought was cheap. Too much talking. Still a fan just disappointed. And show started late to boot.

I was privileged to attend the Pieces of a Dream concert at the 2016 Reading Jazz Fest last Sunday, April 3rd. It was really good! They are a class act! I would recommend them in a heart beat. The opening act, Greg Adams and East Bay Soul was a very pleasant surprise! Keep the great jazz coming!

Totally enjoy the performance. First time seeing them and sure appreciated the humor, the energy, and the music. Thank you for making my day. Went Solo and experienced a very emotional morning prior to the performance. You see, I work on the railroad and a tragedy happened that morning in which 2 co-workers lost their lives and forever changed the crew on board the train. My heart was very heavy and the concert allowed me to focus on life. Thanks again.

What a fantastic show. They started right on time, to the minute. They entertained non-stop and were funny, inclusive, and extremely good. Every song was played beautifully. We bought their CD at the end of the show and one of the performers autographed and personalized his message to us. We absolutely loved every minute. We'd see them again in a heartbeat!

The show was Awesome! My friend told me about them, i got tickets back in February but low an behold he didn't make it for his own reasons. My girl friend an I attended, we again loved it. My friend said the Boy (James Lloyd) is a genius, I called him after the show and told him that i loved it, it was my first time seeing them. I've been listening to and following Pieces of a Dream for years. I have to say this was one of my favorite performances. They were incredible. The bass player, David Dyson, is amazing. The keyboardist, James Lloyd, was outstanding. All the musicians are so talented and you can tell they love what they do. There definitely was a certain energy in the whole room. If you ever get a chance to see Pieces of a Dream, Go! You will not be disappointed. Looking forward to seeing them at the Rehoboth Jazz Fest.

....and I've seen plenty of shows this year. The Birchmere was sold out and Pieces of a Dream did not disappoint. I brought three friends who had never seen the group perform live and they were in awe of the quality of the performance and how TIGHT the members of the group are together. We did not want to leave.

We really enjoyed the show. The only disappointment was they didn't lay "Warm Weather" one of their classics. We thought this was probably due to the fact that they seemed to extend each song way longer than it should have been. At one point we and people around us thought they covered only 4 songs in about an hour. We think this is why many of the older fans were totally tired at the end of the show and were ready to go.
