Dr. Dog had an amazing concert that captivated the audience. They played the top hits while also plugging in their new music. There was constant momentum throughout the entire concert.

These two Paradise shows were my 5th and 6th in the past 2 years, and Dr. Dog gets better all the time. I just wish I hadn't sung and screamed quite so loud, I haven't been able to speak normally for days;-)

If you're a Dr. Dog fan or have even just casually listened to their music I would highly recommend seeing them live. They have a lot of energy on stage and the music translates well into a live performance. Not much more I could ask for from any band.

First night they were incredible with perfect sound focusing on newer material. They played every song from the new CD "Shame Shame" Noticeably missing in the set list was the song "FROM" which in my opinion is one of the better songs they have yet written. The second night fell short a bit as far as the sound was concerned. For some reason the bass guitar was so overpowering . The bass hum drowned out the vocals and the other members musical nuiances. Toward the end of the show it became obvious that Tobey was losing his voice. You could see the frustration on his face. Scott had to pick up the slack and took over lead vocals for one of the last songs.

This was my first time at the Loft. Despite my slight aversion to floor not being entirely stable for much of the evening, and the sound being way too overpowering for the space allotted, it was a cool venue. Deer Tick was much more musically appealing live, while Dr. Dog catered more to the "let's just jam and have a good time" majority of the crowd. Deer Tick's sound is difficult to classify, with a wide range of influences and direction. They were probably not most Dr. Dog fan's regular cup of tea, and the anxiety amongst the crowd toward the length of their set was obvious. Still, I found them much more musically interesting and diverse than Dr. Dog's same routine they've been doing for the last 5 years. The crowd didn't seem to mind the repetitious nature of Dr. Dog, though, and I didn't either, for that matter, since the lights were sweet, and it's damn upbeat music.

The show was simply amazing. The venue was quite intimate, so we were there with about 250 crazy Dog fans. They are a great live act, as we had heard, but haven't been fortunate enough to catch until now. So glad we did. If you haven't listened to them yet, do it. Give them a chance, at least. You'll be glad you did.

This show was awesome!!!! The opening act Sean Bones was very good and Dr. Dog blew it out of the water. They pretty much played every song I wanted to hear which was pretty easy when you play what seems to be a 25 song set list. They just moved from song to song and didn't mess around, very impressed!!!!!

Dr. Dog rocked it hard for well over an hour, with lots of energy the entire time. The sound system at the gothic was great, a perfect level of noise to take you away with the music, but not leave you deaf the next day. Could have done without all the smoke, but hey i guess it was 4/20.

I wasn't a big fan of Dr Dog, but the Growlers were great. I had not heard of either band but went with a few freinds. Imagine my surprise to hear the Growlers. I love their Beach Boy vibe and the laid back California style. I went home and downloaded some of their music.Dr Dog was a let down after the Growlers. So I give the show four stars just because I found a new band I love.

I drove 3 hours to see Dr Dog in Columbus and was a little worried about how their live show would be. I downloaded a few of their more popular songs in the past year and decided to just gowith my wife. It was worth the drive there and back. Their show was full of energy and I heard some more songs that I would like to download and found a deeper appreciation for the band. The opening band the Growlers from California were good. I bought their album and listened to it on the way home. Though they made me laugh abit because they had a band member who wore a raccoon skin hat and sat and played a bongo type instrument and the tamberine and he would bob his head back and forth causing the tail of the hat to fly back and forth. It actually distracted me from the rest of the band as I watched him the whole time.

Dr. Dog opened with a band from California named The Growlers. Their first few songs were very catchy, until all the songs started to blend together in the way they sounded very similar. The lead vocalist said they would sing for 45 minutes, and I was wishing for it all to be over. Towards the end of their act, the lead guitarist started to do guitar tricks, and power slid on the front of the stage. He was clearly drunk, as between songs he would try to get the crowd to do the wave. Once Dr. Dog finally got on stage, the stage had been dusted with a light fog from a machine. They kicked off their part of the show with non stop good songs, as well as 2 new ones from their new album coming in April. Even after they finished, the crowd pleaded for more, and they came out to perform one more song before actually retiring again to the backstage.

They played a long show and you can tell they really love doing it. They had an awesome visual setup without it being too blinding! They sound just as good live if not better! Very crisp very high-energy. I'm even comparing their showmanship to the legendary bands. I've been lucky enough to see some big names like Jeff Beck, Rush, BB King, Bob Dylan, Van Halen, Roger Waters (performing The Wall) etc. and these guys are right up there with them--at least as far as a great, high energy show! If you get a chance, see them! Or at least look up their albums! I almost always and exclusively listen to stuff that's normally at least 30-40+ years old. If you like The Beatles, Led Zeppelin, Pink Floyd etc. you will love these guys! Give them a chance!

I have listened to Dr. Dog for many years. I love their records but had never seen them in concert (except for some videos) prior to this event. My wife and I were blown away. Great musicianship, communal feeling, strong harmonies and beautiful songs. The excellent lights and sound put it over. Hop Along was a good opener. Interesting lead vocals and strong band. We love the Wiltern as a concert venue. Big win of a night.

As we walked through the double doors of the House of Blues, we were immediately greeted with the unforgettable lights of the venue's rustic stage and stain glass-like religious appeal. The stage was instantly recognizable and the lights grew dim as the hamsa and yin-yang hovered above it. My girlfriend and I had just driven two hours to be here and we finally made it. We were home. The thick, bold sounds of MewithoutYou easily drowned out any feeling of weariness shared. The ferocious and almost robotic looking movements of the band's drummer was overwhelming. This was tipped off properly by the mesmerizing lead singer who would move from his microphone stand immediately to the floor as if he had a bad stomach ache. They played song after song, talking very little in between, and tore through the set as if it was their last day on earth. Having never heard of the band until that very day, I now knew that I had become a fan. But I was not there to see them \u2014 to be honest. My girlfriend and I were there to see Dr. Dog. Yes, those hip, scruffy, trippy boys from West Grove. With each song, my excitement grew. As the members switched guitars and instruments between (what seemed like) every song, I never knew what to expect. The audience on the floor were in high spirits (figuratively and literally), but we were all musically transcendent for two hours as Dr. Dog manned the helm. What a night it was.

This show was honestly my favorite I've ever been to. A GREAT show last Friday night at the Electric Factory. Dr. Dog Rocked! They raised the bar on their songs as if they were all on steroids. And the use of electronic samples to soup thngs up is a great addition to their performance. I loved the homespun touch of Tobey bringing his dad on stage to sing for his mom's birthday and the audience singing 'Happy Birthday' to her was priceless. What a lucky mom! Their harmonies were perfect and the talent of all these musicians is not to be missed. I loved the set design, felt like being in a funky church. Recommend seeing them whenever and as often as you can.

Dr. Dog performed an incredible set. They played every single worthwhile song from Fate and Shame, Shame, both, which is quite a feat. Their set was long, but they didn't overstay their welcome. Saw Dr. Dog play at Festival Pier 6/23/18. The band was awesome, sound was great, and just about every spot was a good one to see the band perform. However, the drink prices were insanely high ($14 for a Miller Lite!) and the area got pretty dirty and sandy by the time the band got on.

Been to Dr. Dog twice before and they were great concerts. I've also been to the Moore Theater before and sat in upper GA and the volume wasn't an issue. I go to a few concerts a month and this was by far the loudest concert I've been too in my entire life. The sound board needed to check on the upper level to monitor sound quality and volume because it was out of control. Usually wear ear plugs to concerts, but if I didn't have them that night it would of been very uncomfortable.

Dr. Dog put on a great show, but the opener was a bit annoying (I believe they were called Mother). It was also annoying that there was a lot of "VIP" seating that was unused; the ushers would enforce the rules for some people, but wouldn't check tickets for others. Lots of hipsters in the crowd, too. I enjoyed the show, but don't know that I'd see them again at the Tabernacle.

Really great show! A band like this has so much music you'd want to hear though, and seeing as they played a 25 song set a few nights later in phili, I'm a little bummed we only got to see about half that. Dr. Dog put on an amazing show. They had a diverse set list of songs from many of their albums. With 6 members, they are a very entertaining band and have a very unique sound. I'd never seen them perform before and seeing them at the Ryman was the perfect venue for a first time viewing. I'll see them again the next time they come to Nashville. 2 thumbs up!

I have listened to Dr. Dog once online before and was really impressed with their performance. They have a lot of members in their band and manage to create an infectious and warm wall of sound. Amazingly, even though I was pretty close to the stage the sound level didn't hurt my ears. Their musicianship and stage presence was great and the build of their set list seemed just right for the evening. Would definitely go see them again!

This was my first time seeing a show at the Glass House and my first time seeing Dr Dog live. As far as the venue goes, I have no complaints. Parking is easy and cheap (only $1 to park all night in the lot across the street!) and the interior is set up in a way that the show feels intimate regardless of where you are standing. As far as Dr Dog is concerned, O M G. I went from being a casual fan to a mega fan-girl. Every member is incredibly talented but what left the biggest impression on me is the all-in, roudy, passionate, "we're here to have the best night ever" attitude they all posses. Dr Dog has been a band for quite a few years but it doesn't feel at all mundane or routine. Their enthusiasm & energy is seriously contagious. You can't help but catch it! I will happily relive this experience in my head until I have the chance to see them again. I <3 you Dr Dog!

What a night! Music, laughter and good old Rock n Roll! Dr. Dog brought it to the Glass House in their full Dog style. The crowd was moving and grooving the entire night. Even a bit of crowd surfing filled the air. The band shared a cool story from about 10 years back. All the equipment was stolen from their tour van hours before they were scheduled to perform. Thankfully, another band shared guitars, drums etc. Dr. Dog was able to perform a full set with "cool shiny silver" guitars. Towards the end of their set, Dr. Dog took multiple requests performing on demand for the crowd. It was awesome. Thanks Dr. Dog for a rocking cool night!

Dr. Dog casts you under their spell. This was my first time seeing them and they were fantastic. Taking requests from audience during the encore, playing a great selection of songs from their albums. A very fun night.

I'm almost 40 years old and I bought my first concert tickets for Dr. Dog. Their show was amazing! The song selection was perfect and the vibe from the band was great. I would definitely see them again!

Dr. Dog consistently puts on a great show. They opened and closed strong and the audience was in rapt attention the entire time. My buddy fainted mid-show, which he says was due to dehydration but im pretty sure it was actually from having his face rocked so hard by the band. 5/5 would see again.

Love the band, but the sound at the Oakland Fox (normally a stellar venue soundwise) was a problem in the front side rows, loud and disjointed. Then moved to the back, right behind the sound station, where it was better.

Dr. Dog was absolutely 100% better than I had imagined they would be. I was concerned that the lo-fi sound that makes their albums sound so unique and enjoyable would fail to translate to the stage. That said, my fears were almost immediately proven wrong. They played a great set, have a great stage presence, and really played one of the better shows I've seen in the last few years. You should know that House of Blues (albeit mostly based in rumor) has a reputation for artificially creating a line when the show isn't sold out. As a person who has seen several acts there I can tell you that I only ever seem to be in a long line like that when they're not sold out, but again it's speculative knowledge at best. Though you have to ask yourself how on earth they're able to accommodate everyone for a sold out show, but fail to for a partial-fill?

I thought the band was incredible but venue was to small and the crowd was a little aggressive and angry. Dr. Dog put on an awesome show and was amazing!
