Banda El Recodo

Banda el Recodo -- the group's full name is Banda Sinaloense el Recodo de Don Cruz Lizarraga -- celebrated their 75th anniversary in 2013, and the Mexican Banda group hasn't shown any signs of slowing down. During the landmark year, the ever-evolving band -- believed to be the first Banda act to release a commercial recording -- was awarded with the Musical Legacy Award at the Billboard Mexican Music Awards. Banda el Recodo was founded by clarinetist Cruz Lizarraga in 1938, and he remained the bandleader until he died of cancer in 1995. The group is still in the Lizarraga family, however, and counts four of his sons among its members.

Overall, the concert was amazing! I went just to go see Banda El Recodo, but Larry Hernandez and everybody else was awesome. I loved it! Banda El Recodo was soooo good! They really interact with the crowd which i loved! I was unforgettable! :D

i dont listen to banda music, dont even really know how to dance to it. Spur of the moment kind of deal, and it was pretty fun. Being around a bunch of drunk people, that are dressed to impressed, all dancing and looking good, is a good feeling. Girl to man ratio was great, way more girls to look at.

Great artist! Time between each artist and group was very well managed. We didn't wait too long, but the wait was long enough for a bathroom or drink break.

larry, banda el recodo, and recoditos gave an awsome show...... Although there lighting was a bit off in my opinion and the transitons should have been better coordinated....... Also people should be beetter checked to many drugs got in.... But the artist them selves were good :)

The venue was nice and personal. I was fortunate enought to be front row and got major contact from the band and the lead singers. The connection they have with theuir fans is the reason why they are still successful after 70 years as a group. This was my second El recodo experience, the first was at Reventon super estrella at the staples center, needless to say this venue was a lot more intimate and I was able to get a fantastic experience. This show has made me a even bigger fan and hope to be able to make it to other performances.

I only went to the concert to see el komander and to my surprise he wasn't even there. I left at 11:30 not worth staying there if I wasn't going to see the person who i originally bought my ticket for. If i would of know he wasn't going to be there I wouldn't of waited in line for more then 45 min.

I would not recommend this place to anybody because I was sold two seats and I had to stand all day and I was very disappointed and tired when I got home. The performances were great because they all came out and did there best.

I was disappointed with the sound when El Recodo came out... maybe the mics weren't adjusted from the change from Voz de Mando. But then Espinoza Paz killed it... he should have just stuck to singing his slow songs instead of trying to be all that and a bag of chips. The man can write songs, he needs to just stick to singing his songs, after all it was Valentines Day, his songs would have been perfect. Thanks to Voz de Mando it wasn't a total disappointment.

Accessing tickets for this event was fairly easy. The parking at the event was also not bad. The line to get in was horrendous. The start time said 7pm but the bands didn't begin playing until 10minutes after 8pm. Once Banda El Recodo came on at 10pm the sound was terrible. The music was coming across muffled so we moved to the back. It was still poor quality, unclear and very low. Then Espinoza Paz didn't come on until very late. It took sooooooo long for him to be presented and when he finally came out, he only sang for an hour. Not good!!

I would not recommend this event. If you go decide to go to this event next year take flats to wait in line. People cutting in front of the l line. No organization. Total Chaos!!! Besides, food (tacos) were not good at all. Need better sponsors. It was a disappointment. Good music but the sound (speakers) not working how they should. The only good thing was Espinoza Paz.

The main event was awesome! The down side is it started almost an hour late & everyone had to wait outside of the building until then. I'd recommend more booths or displays though. The music was great!!!

It started way later than scheduled. The sound was horrible. I've seen Banda el Recodo before but with way better sound. I would not go back to the convention center.

Venue was awful if you don't have vip then go there 3hrs early due to no parking and you have to get in line for apx 2hrs to go inside the venue. Show was good Banda recodo musicians were louder than the singers. Voz de Mando and Espinoza were amazing they made the night.

Only gave it 2 stars because of the artist that performed. besides that the hole experience sucked. There was a long line just to get through security which was operating through one door only for the entire venue. Finally get in and the place is huge but everything looks un-organized and there are a handful of tables for people to sit. They sold food but had nowhere to sit so i literally eat over a trash can because there were no tables or anything. then when the performers came out the sound sucked, you couldn't here anything they were singing or saying when they addressed the crowd. honestly it was a waste of money in my eyes because nothing was organized.

Doors didn't open til after 7:15 or later, set up was not the best, crowd was standing and once the show started, people were very rude when you tried to get out or in the crowds. We got shoved several times -.- Voz de Mando was great! And Recodo was of course AMAZING! Didn't stay for Espinoza Paz cause we don't care for him but i couldn't believe Recodo opened for Espinoza Paz!
