k.d. is pure perfection on the stage. Not only his is voice still amazing as ever, she has a great stage presence. She can also handle anything that comes her way! (there was one very drunk person who would not set down and k.d. handled her like a pro!) I never understand getting so drunk at a show you either get kicked out or black out! What a waist of time and money! Back to k.d. GO SEE HER LIVE anytime you have the chance, she did not come to Chicago and we drove 5 hours for the night to see her!

The lighting, the sound, the weather, THEN never having seen k.d. Lang, I was blown away by her voice, her humor, her classy behavior, her sense of relaxed rhythm, and finally her LOVE for all involved!!
I saw KD a couple of years ago as the 'warm-up' for another performer. I would rather have listened to her ALL evening. I have never been to such a great performance. She is absolutely, dynamically, outstanding. And the purity of her voice is unrivaled. (Well, IF it were a contest, Josh Groban could be in the running.) I will travel a far distance to see and hear her live again. YOU should too!

kd lang's voice hasn't changed one bit. It is gorgeous and you can get lost in it. She is funny and fun with the audience. Hearing ingenue in order was a real treat, plus the other songs she played. Had amazing seats, the band was tight, talented and fun too. SHe really appreciates them and spotlights them generously. Highly, highly recommend this show. The Orpheum is old and sad, but small with great views.

Since this is the 25th Anniversary of Ingénue she said Yeah, I think that it s safe to say we re all gay seniors ! She sang the whole album in order ending with Constant Craving and got one of many standing ovations. She also did songs from other albums and covered a Joni Mitchell and then Leonard Cohen s Hallelujah beautifully. Also to a standing ovation! Her voice is even better than it was in the past! So great it made the horrible parking situation worth going through.

KD Lang was fabulous! She performed non-stop for about 2 hours and her performance was just awesome. Her vocals have changed very little over the years and her energy was tremendous! She treats her supporting musicians as well as the road staff with huge respect, much unlike many performers I have experienced in the past. The Orpheum acoustics worked superbly for her performance. The accompanying lighting made the mood settings to go along with the songs make the performance even more enjoyable. All in all, one of the best performance that we've ever attended.

The three star rating is for the venue (Orpheum Theater, Boston) not the evening! KD Lang's voice was spectacular as she reprised her grammy winning LP Ingenue. She created an immersive experience that brought her sensual lyrics and the talents of each gifted musician together to show why these songs are vibrant and fresh after 25 years. When she was done with Ingenue she sang other favorites including one song each from three other Canadian musical treasures -- Neil Young (Helpless), Joni Mitchell (Falling) and Leonard Cohen (Hallelujah). Breathtaking. Her comfort on stage in banter with audience made for a relaxed and intimate evening. At times she seemed like an ordinary gal you might chat up at a coffee shop. Then she'd sing another song and we'd all remember why we were sitting in old lumpy seats in this tired theater...to be present with her voice and lyrics full of longing, loss, love and hope. She is more than a Canadian treasure, she is a treasure to the music industry and all who listen. The Orpheum Theater feels a like what a concert hall might be if it were part of a subway; small, dark, tunnel-like and old. She tours with her own sound crew which turned what likely would have been mediocre acoustics in this old theater into a "symphony hall" sound experience. Bravo!

The best singer that I have ever seen on a night where she was totally on. Ingenue was stunning and I honestly preferred some of her other material more (before this show). Band was incredible and KD is the opposite of a diva as she gave everyone time to shine. Standing O after Ingenue and then she topped it with the Canadian trio.

I've seen k d lang at least 7 times over the last (gulp) 30 years, and she remains my favorite on-stage performer. The concert was nothing less than amazing! She's got talent, class, integrity, a fantastic sense of humor and a rare and genuine ability to connect with the audience. Half of the times I've seen her, it's been in a grand old venue dating back to the days of vaudeville. The Orpheum is indeed a grand old theatre, too, though it's a real crying shame that the seats haven't been updated since they apparently acquired them from the junkyard when Boston replaced it's elementary school buses in the 60s.

Her voice is still "like butter"......She is funny and entertaining and could not be more authentic....an overall delightful human being! Her music is soothing and hypnotic. K.D. Lang has the voice of a generation - like silk in any register. And like Sinatra before her, she is a consummate actor-in-song. She doesn t oversing. She is exacting as an artist in her own performance and in those she works with. Her band members are musicians and backup singers of the highest quality. Lang is very collaborative giving her musicians generous solos (which were all AMAZING) and expressing gratitude for their contribution to the music. Lang, like Sinatra, is someone everyone should see! She has an angelic voice and a huge talent using it. Like I said, the voice of a generation!

No matter who's in the audience, kd lang is sensitive to the fact that her following is not only the LGBT crowd. There were young and older couples, young mothers and couples with their children, and she still knew how to "play" her audience; intimate, caring and considerate. I took a friend who wasn't a fan, but became one during the show & had nothing but superlative comments afterwards. The venue significantly supported Ms Lang's affable personality, and her quirkly barefoot performance, imaging her favorite CW and pop stars (i.e., Elvis, and crooners T. Bennett, P. Kline) while playing guitar and banjo. The audience fell in love with her as she added her newer songs intermingled with her classics with a twist of harmony and slide guitar. My first experience, and hopefully not my last

Here voice is pure heaven, her showmanship lovely, her presence awe inspiring. I didn't know what to expect from her actual stage show, but to see her frolic and play with the audience, only endeared me more to her and yes, made me a rabid, frothing fan.

I attended my 10th kd lang concert on May 27th at Orlando's Hard Rock Live venue. As usual her voice was perfection. She performed a mixture of songs; the majority of them were from her most recent album "Sing it Loud", but she also included a few older cherished favorites, along with some downhome bluegrass style tunes. She sang a brand new song for us. It is called "Sleeping Alone". All I can say is AMAZING! Of all of the venues in 2 states, and 4 cities that I have seen her perform I was most pleased with the Hard Rock Live venue. It was smaller than most concert venues, so there was a definite intimate feel, and the acoustics were terrific. I got front row seats for this concert, and it will go down as the best kd show ever!

First off, I really love k.d. lang. I consider myself a moderate fan. The two times I saw her before, she really played a lot of the songs that made her popular. However, on this show, I suppose she was experimenting with a new album and pretty much played every single song from it. I love songs like "Crying", "Wash Me Clean", "Barefoot", "Black Coffee", "Simple", "Helpless", "The Valley", "Three Cigarettes in an Ashtray", "Trail of Broken Hearts", and//or "The Air That I Breathe". AND SHE DIDN'T PLAY A SINGLE ONE OF THOSE! And "Constant Craving", her only actual hit, really sounded nothing like the album except in certain parts (it was almost rockabilly). She did sing "Hallelujah" which was the highlight of the night and caused a huge standing ovation (and this is in the middle of her set, not at the end of the night!)! Her voice is amazing as ever, the place only holds 1200 people so any seat is superb, but it's tough when you don't know every single song from an artist and then they decide to indulge themselves with songs that the like, but may not appeal to everyone. The night was beautiful, she mentioned the neon cross on the hill which was hysterical and said that just like her, we are all freaks which got a big laugh out of everyone. Cybil Shepard, at age 61, was there. She looked good but was a bit aged as to be expected. One more small thing: $4.00 for a tiny bottled water? Really? Aside from that - it was a nice evening. Had she did more songs that people knew, I would have given 4 or 5 stars.

The adjectives do not exist that can accurately describe kd lang s voice and what it feels like to be in her presence. I have loved her voice since the first time I heard her on one of her early albums (either 1987 s Angel with a Lariat produced by Dave Edmunds or 1988 s Shadowland produced by Owen Bradley or maybe 1989 s Absolute Torch and Twang) but somehow never found the opportunity to see her live. And I only own one of her recordings So in Love from the Cole Porter tribute album Red Hot + Blue from 1990. So when her Ingénue Redux tour was announced celebrating the 25th anniversary of Ingénue, I knew I had to be there. (By the time the tour hit NYC it was the 26th anniversary and celebrating that they were a bunch of gay seniors according to lang.) The stage at the gorgeous Beacon Theatre was almost bare, so I was wondering how big a band she was going to have. There were keyboards on an organ and a set of guitar pedals and mic in front of the curtain. There were two big floor monitors on either side of the stage facing in and then two speakers on tripods on either side also facing in and acting as monitors. The Australian Grigoryan Brothers opened. Slava and Leonard are classical guitarists and they entertained us with pieces by Tchaikovsky and Bach in addition to some of their original songs all instrumental. They finished with Jongo by a Brazilian composer Paulo Bellinati, where they used the bodies of their acoustic guitars percussively in addition to the strings. Some of the audience was very into it (I was) and some were not. I do not think it was the best venue to showcase their talent but very talented they are. I would love to see them in a more traditional classical setting. The Grigoryan Brothers played for a half-hour and by 8:20pm, the curtains parted and the band was on stage and kd lang came out singing Save Me and The Mind of Love. She explained to us that the album was meant to hypnotize you and they were going to perform it from start to finish with no stage banter. The surprise of seeing kd lang dance around the stage for Miss Chatelaine with such obvious joy on her face was enough to lift me out of any trance. For Wash Me Clean she literally washed off her hands at the end. They continued with the rest of album So It Shall Be, Still Thrives This Love, Season of Hollow Soul, Outside Myself, and Tears of Love s Recall. Then came the closer Constant Craving. It s impossible to get tired of that voice singing that song. The applause at the end was long and loud. She still has the chops I thought for a minute that she had lost some of the high end in her voice but she used it for other songs. lang used the entire stage and sometimes stood with a musician while he played a solo. Other times she stood off to the side. She was dressed in her usual uniform of dark jacket and pants with a matching vest and white collared shirt. And she was barefoot. Behind the band were 10 klieg light containers with electric candles inside each. The curtains fell and twisted beautifully with lights or patterns changing their appearance. When they finished the album, she went up to each member of the band and not only introduced them but gave us a brief and usually funny story for each person. When standing between the two female back-up singers, she said that she was finally in her comfort zone. Her amazing band is: Daniel Clarke (keyboards, organ, piano, accordion); David Piltch (electric and upright bass), who has played with her for 30 years; Grecco Burrato (electric and acoustic guitar and background vocals and outstanding hair); Rich Hinman (pedal steel guitar, electric and acoustic guitar, mandolin); Andrew Borger (drums); Tahirah Memory (background vocals, percussion); and Moorea Masa (background vocals, percussion, and acoustic guitar), who was born 10 months after Ingénue was released, so lang thought it was possible that she deserves some credit. She then played acoustic guitar for Honey and Smoke from her album case/lang/veirs with Neko Case and Laura Viers. lang was having so much fun on stage, laughing and joking and posing. There were jokes about how nice the weather had been that day and how stormy it had been the night before (referencing Sunday night s 60 Minutes). And another about how they had Justin (and she was not talking about Bieber). After I Dream of Spring, she closed the show with songs by three of her favorite writers all Canadian. Leonard Cohen was a given and I guessed Joni Mitchell and Neil Young. For Help Me she said that no matter how hard she tried she could not deconstruct a Joni Mitchell song Joni Mitchell is tattooed on her soul. I agree with her that it is very difficult to do a Joni song and not sound like a poor imitation of Joni but if anyone could make us enjoy it anyway, even if we are still thinking of the original, it is kd lang. She did make Helpless totally her own to the point that if I was not already very familiar with the words, I would not have known whose song it was. Then came the closer Hallelujah. You may think that you are sick and tired of that song but I defy you to hear kd lang perform it especially live where she inhabits that song in a way that no one else can and you will think you are hearing it for the first time. At the end there are three hallelujahs and she pauses after the second. I knew there was one more but when the audience started clapping, I could not contain myself and I jumped up to applaud. It was a long time before she silenced us with a small hand motion and then finished the song as if there had been no interruption. For the encore we heard Sing It Loud and Sleeping Alone. I lost track of how many times I got chills throughout the night.

You d think that a show featuring the songs of an introspective young singer would maybe not hold up 25 years later, but k d was energized and astounding in this review of her incredible breakthrough album. Fun, joyful, and supported by a band and crew to whom she pays homage in a meaningful way, if you have a chance to see this show, get to it!

KD LANG and her terrific entourage ROCKED BOSTON at the vintage ORPHEUM THEATRE with the most excellent acoustics. This mighty humble woman engaged with the audience and drew us into her INGENUE REDUEX world that left us spellbound. I will most certainly never miss an opportunity to enjoy another one of her concerts. Her grand finale of Leonard Cohen's HALLELUJAH brought the house down!

K. D. Lang was in fine voice at the Peabody Opera House in St Louis. She sang the entire Ingenue cd from start to finish and also sang other songs from her extensive repertoire. Her version of 'Hallelujah' brought the house down! Her voice has only gotten better with age and if you ever get a chance to see her in concert, go for it! It was also a thrill and honor to meet her after the show!

She was amazing and her band was amazing. The Count Basie on Monday night had the best sound of any venue that I've been to. It may have been KD Lang's set up.

My wife and I have now seen k.d. lang three times in concert, after Monday s show at the Count Basie Theater in Red Bank, NJ. We once went as far as Montreal, Canada to see her show. So we like her a lot. Never has she disappointed us. She played her entire "Ingenue" album, with each member of her band being given the opportunity to exhibit their solo talents. K.d. s voice was as sweet and powerful as ever. She is a superb performer with better crowd rapport than most. She worked the audience with wit and charm. The opening act was the Grigoryan Brothers, from Australia, who played classical duets on acoustic guitar. I could have listened to them for another hour, at least. They concluded their set with a percussion duet done by slapping their guitars. It was extraordinary. The Count Basie Theater is one of the best venues I ve ever visited for a concert. It is a beautiful place, inside and out, with outstanding acoustics. This is an enthusiastic recommendation for not only k.d. lang and the Grigoryan Brothers, but for the Count Basie Theater and the city of Red Bank as well.

She was fantastic. She could hold the audience ...just her and a piano! A pure and honest performance. Minimal staging, but highly effective. The musicians she works with are stars in their own right. Together, they are amazing. Don't miss her. I could have seen her again the next night.

I am so glad I went to see her. Her voice range is simply breathtaking at times. Her prices are extremely reasonable. Her publicist may want to up his game, as much of the mezzanine was open. Quite a few people had no idea she was in town. Sad..

k.d. lit it up with her smooth voice and wide range. She was fantastic and a bucket list singer I could not wait to see. Of course, her rendition of, "Hallelujah," was the best I've ever heard. She got a standing O for that. Personally, I didn't care for, Ingenue as much as, Absolute Torch & Twang, but, I can listen to her voice all day no matter what she sings, so, I give the concert the highest rating for her gift and personality.

I've always been amazed by k d Lang's voice and she didn't dissapoint in the Ingenue Redux show at the Peabody. It is such a pleasure to hear her voice again and the songs from this truly great album. Also, her covers of Help Me I Think I'm Falling in Love Again by Joni Mitchell, Helpless by Neil Young, and Hallelujah were nothing short of spectacular. Well done k d!

This is my 4th or 5th time at a KD Lang concert. She never ever disappoints. Her voice is still as magnificent as ever. The opening act was amazing as well. The Grigoryan Brothers from Australia played classical guitar and unlike many opening acts, the audience, like myself, was mesmerized by their playing. A great opening by the guys and an even greater concert by one of my favorite artists!!!

k.d. lang delivered her sublime A game impressively in concert at Minneapolis' State Theatre (3/14) with the finest of vocal delivery and emotive range. All ten of her Ingenue tracks were done in order plus seven additional gems. Five great musicians and two female backup singes accompanied for an evocative 105 minute set. Highlights: a spine tingling "Wash Me Clean," a fresh spoken word intro to "Season of Hollow Soul," the familiar sing along fun of her well known hit "Constant Craving," lovely "I Dream of Spring," a faithfully deft interpretation of Joni Mitchell's "Help Me," a stunningly intense and deeply heart felt Neil Young's "Helpless" masterfully done like no other and her soaring signature cover of Leonard Cohen's "Hallelujah" that remains just mesmerizing. She dedicated her zippy "Sing It Loud" to all of the brave protesting high school students who are championing gun control reform. Lang refrained from talk for the first set then cut loose with some hysterical banter over the latter half of the night. k.d. lang remains one of my all time favorite performers; love that girl!

I first saw KD Lang 20+ years ago @ Starlight for her "All You Can Eat" Tour - her voice is still as wonderful now as it was then! The Ingenue Redux tour brings back a lot of fond memories of an album that helped me through some very dark times in my life. Getting to hear KD's rendition of Leonard Cohen's "Hallelujah" live and in person, for me, was the highlight of the show! Her barefoot presence is truly something to behold. Peace & Love to KD Lang for her gift of song :-)

I'm a fan, though apparently not as big a fan as most who packed the house tonight. I found the show overproduced, the sound mix out of balance and overwhelming lang's vocal for much of the show, and the solos which filled out the tunes in Ingenue too frequent and overly long. It was obvious she was working with a cold, which may be why I felt her backup singers filled in the high notes for her on occasion and the sound crew was overzealous with the reverb, something lang herself asked them to dial back early in the show. Part of my reaction is that I last saw her perform in a far more intimate venue and with far less in the way of distractive glitz, at O'Shaughnessy Auditorium in St. Paul. I hope she returns to that venue soon. That said, I enjoyed the show. She was at her peak with the three pre-encore tunes with which she closed the show, by Joni Mitchell, Neil Young, and Leonard Cohen. No one renders Hallelujah! like lang. This performance was different than the last I heard in its nuances but just as filled with heart and talent. She leaves nothing behind with this song. I was disappointed in her choice of encores, two tunes which I thought too tame to follow the closing trio. It's likely she had nothing left to offer after those songs. If so, I would have preferred she close on the high point. The audience seemed to agree, based on its reduced level of applause and enthusiasm for a woman they obviously love.

I saw this tour 25 years ago, and it was awesome! 25 years later the Redux or 25 year anniversary of Ingenue. It was great, I liked it a lot. At 56, k.d. Lang still has got a set of pipes! That girl can sing!! I would probably say I liked the original tour better, but for an anniversary tour this was still very good! My husband's first time seeing her, this was my 4th. He very much enjoyed it! I was glad that it wasn't so loud that my ears were ringing afterwords! I loved her witty banter after she played the album in it's entirety, it would have been more fun had she gave us stories about the songs. She is quite a comedian. She didn't want to interfere with our interpretation of the record. Still a very good show, I'm glad I went!
