Just had several Christmas songs for the holiday hayride theme. I would have just preferred to have them sing their songs that I already love instead of all the Christmas songs that I am already over this holiday season. Enjoyed the guest of the band and it was a great show!

The show was awesome from start to finish. It began with people I had never heard before but even they were great. The Reverend Horton Heat were amazing! They put on a great show and were very interactive with the crowd. Stories were told and music was played. They were on stage for about 2 hours.

Super small, intimate venue. Great music, but would you expect anything less from the Rev? The band stayed after and did a meet and great. It was the best show I have ever been to and I have seen a lot of great bands. They are coming back to Sacramento in April 2017 and I will definitely be going.

I've attended a Rev show on four occasions and I've never been disappointed. The crowd eats up every guitar riff, every strum of the bass, and every beat of the drums. This was my first time seeing the Nekromantix and they were a lot of fun. The drummer may be new in the line-up, but he was amazing. It was also my first time seeing Whiskey Shivers, and I was pleasantly surprised. They played well to the crowd. They're worth seeing again.

I must say for seein him for the first time this was a great show. I started on the floor but after the 5th song i had to get out because the pit just got crazy with people wrecking and slaming so i watched from off the floor it was still awesome. The house of blues has amazing sound. If you like the 50s ,greasers, rockabilly, psychobilly then you will love to see this guy even though hes old he freakin rocks and will be worth watching...xoxoxox

Considering the fact that the Reverend was sick, the show was great. My only complaints are the sound and lights. The sound was pretty bad. The treble and guitar were way too loud making it difficult to hear the vocals at times. The light show the band has is a little over the top and at one point became distracting. The light show should never take away the attention from the band itself, in my opinion. The opening acts were pretty good as well. Hillstomp brought the house down. These guys blew me away with their Cajun style melodies. Split Lip Rayfield was good as well but they played waaaay too long. It got to the point where people started walking out to the concession area.

What a show!!! The Blasters opened and were still as amazing as they were way back when. Then Junior Brown who is another fantastic player came on and between him, his wife on rhythm guitar and his drummer they played a superb set! (One drum and that drummer sounded like he had two sets of hands!) Then of course Reverend Horton Heat took the stage. What a show! They killed it as well! Oh, and not to mention Big Sandy joined them on stage as well. Four and a half hours of fantastic music! One heck of a Holiday Hayride!

I don't know to what extent the room acoustics contributed, but the sound quality at this show was horrible. The person operating the mixing board (I was standing behind it) seemed totally inexperienced, as he constantly was adjusting the volume and clarity of the individual musicians. You couldn't even hear Junior Brown's guitar, and he seemed pissed as well. I will never go to another show at Revolution

The word fun doesn't fully describe this blast of a night. The tickets were cheap, the venue good, the fans friendly and the music was dead on. I have been seeing The Revend 25+ years. Always been a big fan but this show is very different. Usually the show revolves around The Revend but this holiday special has other amazing acts I had never heard of. Big Sandy is great but for me, The Blasters stole the show. If you don't know them, look them up so you are ready bc they will blow you away. The Revend focuses on songs from their Christmas album which makes sense but isn't as good as their normal stuff.

I knew something was off when I saw there were no seats. The show, which was supposed to start at 7, started at 8 with a band that wasn't advertised. I do believe they escaped from a nursing home. What they lacked in youth, they more than made up for in volume. I might have been decent music if it wasn't so awfully, painfully loud. After that torture, Junior Brown came on and the first thing he did was have the house sound turned down. Junior turned in a fairly short set delivering his trademark wild guitar playing and deep baritone voice. By the time Reverend Horton Heat came on, I was almost exhausted from standing so long. Horton Heat seemed like a fine guitar player, but the sound was so painfully loud that we left after 2 songs. I apologized to my guests for dragging them to such an awful event.

I ve seen both Junior and the Reverend multiple times and both were great and did not disappoint. However RHH brought out a dude named Big Sandy in the middle of the set and ruined the show. He was introduced as a rockabilly hero, but he was awful. Big Sandy has no range and can barely keep a tune, it was excruciating and audience members left in droves by the end of his 45 minute guest spot he just wouldn t stop playing. Even the band was bored by the third song, Jimbo looked dead inside, but he played 8 songs before the RHH started back up again. We ended up leaving in frustration as the show had been ruined. I m all for honoring your heroes and elders but keep it to 2 songs maximum if it s a largely unknown artist and in the middle of the set, if it s a well known and liked artist let them do 3 and then get back to the regular set. 8 songs from this guy made everyone I saw in the audience wince in pain and agony. On a lighter note the RHH rockabilly Christmas arrangements were great and not at all like the Brian Setzer Christmas show arrangements so it didn t feel redundant.

Starting out with the Flat Duo Jets, long-standing journeymen from the Chapel Hill area brought great energy and got the crowd ready for some legendary Psychobilly. Agent Orange is always awesome, however felt wildly out of place sandwiched between two rockabilly acts. It felt like they went on forever. I have yet to see a Reverend Horton Heat show that does anything but amaze. The Good Reverend could have replaced a little long-winded story telling with Can't Surf or Eat Steak, but all in all a great show, finishing up with Ace of Spades in honor of the great Lemmy. The venue, Aura, has been reopened for only a few months after undergoing a massive 7-figure overhaul. It is pretty. It has a great mix of floor level openness and balcony seating. Downside? Only one accessible bathroom, requiring anyone in the balcony to go up and down 3 flights of stairs and wade through 2 large bar lines and standing room areas. I'll likely avoid Aura unless there is an act i can't live without.

The Reverend Horton Heat is a master showman and a mega-talented guitar player. The only reason I gave the show 4 stars is because Jello Biafra hijacked the show for 6 songs. I think I may have been the only one there who didn't care for the Dead Kennedys' front man, but they should have given him 2 songs and called it good.

Went to see Nashville P and Unknown Hinson. Nashville P did not disappoint. Straight ahead hard driving rock and a great stage show. One of the best bands for old school hard rock. Being number two on the bill I expected Unknown Hinson to do his normal show, displaying his guitar skill and stage act for the enjoyment of his fans. What a disappointment. Not even allowed his own set, he was called on stage for a couple of cameo songs during Horton Heat's set, and as a rhythm guitarist on an encore. Why they even had him on the bill for such a minuscule set is puzzling. Horton Heat can play guitar, but I can only take him in small doses. His music is kind of like surf rock, the first two songs sound great but after the fifth sound alike in a row you just want it to end.

The night at the Mercury Ballroom was terrific. Starting off was the Whiskey Shivers, followed by the Nec-Romantix. The Reverend delivered his unique blend of sweet vocals, sometimes silly lyrics, ROCKING Gretsch Guitars playing magic, and Jimbo's excellent upright bass playing. The drummer's 5 minute solo was really something special. It was so refreshing to see musicians who not only showed their love for performing, but to smile and welcome their fans throughout their performance. Even stayed after the show to chat and shake hands. Reverend Horton Heat comes to Louisville, The Ville, periodically. Wish they were here all the time. I'm a FAN!

Rev Heat and his band tore through an entertaining pyschobilly set at the Pony, highlighted by a mid-set guest appearance by Robert Gordon (with the Rev flawlessly playing lead guitar). Opening act Dale Watson also rocked the house with a spirited and diverse set of country swing, rockabilly, and good old fashioned c&w.....all back by the trademark sound of a steel pedal guitar......great show!!!!!!!!!!!

As this was the 1st annual hayride, I was expecting there to be hiccups . . . and there definitely were. When we arrived it was a bit confusing since the car show and vendors were not connected to the concert site. There was a long line and we were told there were no re-entries so we figured we would check out the cars and the vendors -- there were not too many cars or vendors, but still managed to spend money. Then we got in line to hear disgruntled people talking about us possibly not getting in. After standing in line to enter for almost two hours (we love Reverend Horton Heat and after seeing the Rev walk by us we kept our sense of humor) we finally started to move. The women taking tickets (not scanning them and giving the ticket back as most shows do for those sentimental people, like me, who have tickets to nearly every show they attend. . .not to mentioned to be sure the tickets are legit) were barking at us to hurry up (hey. . . we had been waiting patiently) then we end up in an alley and had to stand there for about a good 20 minutes. The security setup was a mess (again this was the first time doing this so we rolled with it). Once inside we realized no food (BBQ was listed on event description. . . really I swear it said it) and since we wanted to get a spot since Reverend Horton Heat had already started playing we opted not to fight to get near the drink vendors. We luckily had two bottles of water between the five us (two of our group had gone to the liquor store across the street and got water while the rest of us waited in line). . . so we rationed it. Needless to say it was a ROUGH start. . . BUT once we got our spot and looked at the stage all the pent up frustration melted away. The guests who played with Reverend Horton Heat were great and as usual Reverend Horton Heat did not disappoint. So . . . hopefully it will be a bit smoother next year. WE WILL DEFINITELY BE BACK! One of our group had never been to a Reverend Horton Heat show and even with the drama at the start she agreed the show was amazing.

I liked that you could exit the "hayride" and go to the surrounding bars if you'd like. Seeing as it was the first year, you have to cut them some slack on a lot of stuff. However, I hope they will do it somewhere a little bigger next time.

OK, I have been seeing the Rev once or twice a year for over 15yrs and just about everyone of their shows have been awesome but this one was just a bit off. First the sound stunk and then they had some special guest on stage for half the set. The guy was really good but I paid to see the Rev rip it up not the double neck guitar guy. Also, where was the full suit Mr. Heath? All in all it was a great night of music I just thought they looked bored and really didn't want to be there.

This was the 1st time I had seen the band. I would go see them again in a heartbeat! These guys play their butts off. I was very impressed with the showmanship. Deke did a great job too. probably the very best rendition of "Johnny B. Goode" that I have EVER heard. worth every red cent!!

This was my second time seeing them at this venue and though they were great both times, this last concert seemed to pack more energy to me, and it was non stop fun from the minute they took the stage. Love that upright bass! The bands that opened were really good as well. Will definitely always be watching for RHHs concerts in my area!

Nice intimate room, good sound. Loved the RHH set tearing through a hit from each album, introducing some new stuff and then doing covers to let Jello Biafra do his amazing thing. Crowd of every color and persuasion from 60 to 21, and everyone loved it.

Great show at the Houston House of Blues. The Reverend Horton Heat NEVER disappoints. Set list was heavier on covers and country than it usually is at a RHH show, likely because of their new-found move toward country as reflected in their newest album, Laughin' and Cryin' with the Reverend Horton Heat. Would have loved to have been able to get a sticker for my new truck, but they were light on merch at this show. The Reverend Horton Heat has a sound that is at once unique and familiar... the result of years of having fun doing what they do. It's a sound that is distinctly Texas, yet universal in its appeal. Although RHH has a voluminous collection of studio albums, their sound is only fully enjoyed LIVE. Houston House of Blues is the PERFECT venue in which to enjoy the hard-hitting, blues / psychobilly / country -driven sound and be up-close and personal with this incredible, time-tested winner of a band.

The Reverend Horton Heat is a top notch act that never disappoints.I've been going to his shows since 1992.I've had the pleasure of witnessing the Rev over 30 times and each and everyone of his concerts is as mind blowing as the last.It was nice to see the Rev in a new venue in town [Indy].Truth be told I like the Deluxe part of The Murat even better The Egyptian Room or main theater.I found it to be more intimate and cozy. Two things that I think need a tad bit more improving on is the sound. The vocals were a little bit too low,and the bass and drums were yet again too low. Most people may not have noticed, but as huge fan and seeing this band at other venues, this was probably quietest that I've seen.My second complaint is the steep drink prices.I mean $5 for a Pabst is ridiculous! I'm sure who is in control of such things, but the drinks prices have to come down!

I've probably seen Reverend Horton Heat around 8-9 times, and this was the first time at this venue. It was easy to have a good view compared to The Vogue, and the sound was pretty good, too. They are a really fun band to see live-- full of energy and all excellent musicians. I guess my only complaint is I'm getting a little older, and since there isn't any place to sit except a few table on one side, my back and feet got pretty sore after standing so long.

Really love to see a show at The Canyon. Have seen the Rev many times. A bit disappointed with this show. 4 songs that were not theirs...I'd prefer to hear them sing their own. Not a bad night, but a very short show. Not worth the fees that I paid on top of the tickets (not to mention that I paid $11 more than a friend who bought the same exact tickets)

Amazing show, as always with The Reverend. I was a little worried when the venue got switched form The Southgate House to 20th Century, but it was not at all a disappointment when all said and done. The sound guy was spot on (he must have been the bands, because usually the sound is off at this venue), the crowd was energized and fun, the set list was perfect and spanned the years, and their choice of bands to open for them were absolutely incredible. Hadn't hear of, nor seen, either and they rocked....must check out The Goddamn Gallows and Larry and His Flask!

After 25 years, this band continues to provide an electric live show. The opening acts, The Goddamn Gallows and Larry and Hs Flask, continue the tradition of outstanding atmosphere at their shows. I have never failed to be blown away by anyone on a bill with the Rev. And the final encore is always worth holding your ground for. This is a great venue with a superior sound board and first rate sight lines.

I've seen the Reverend more times than I can count over the past 20+ years and he never fails to entertain. This was no exception. Such a shame that the show wasn't packed. But it allowed the rest of us plenty of space and access to the stage. The opening bands were great too. I've got a few new favs with Goddamn Gallows and Larry and his Flask. I hope the poor showing doesn't mean he won't come to Toledo again.

I expected less than the usual. I've seen RHH about 6 times. State Theatre was not usually a great venue and I felt like RHH there meant schedule conflicts with other local venues. No matter, State Theatre is not as bad as it used to be, in fact I had a great time. No more roach motel floors and plenty of Sierra Nevada Pale Ale so I was happy. Oh, and RHH - totally KILLED IT. They played for about 1.5 hours, I dont know how these guys do it, same energy time after time. Their "lighting guy" sang Ace of Spades which they seem to cover alot, and they did Folsom Prison, so parts were predictable - but the parts you expect are the parts you love and they know it. This was actually one of my favorite RHH shows ever.

The sets by Nashville Pussy and Reverend Horton Heat were excellent, and widely different from each other. RHH was very classy and on the money. Unfortunately, 4th & B was not quite upfront about "opening acts," of which there were TWO before the TWO billed acts. So when the ticket said show starts at 8PM, it was not the show we paid to see. Adding up the time it took to set up each of the four bands, including sound checks etc, it was a tiring night. Not to mention a few rude drunks in the crowd, females included.
