Saw her in Columbia, SC at Township Auditorium and I must admit when I saw that this was her third to last show of her tour, I thought she would just be going thru the motions. WRONG! She put on absolutely one of the MOST energetic concerts I've EVER seen.....period! She played her way thru most all of her most known songs and mixed in some Tom Petty and Jefferson Airplane (White Rabbit was amazing!). Such a well deserving talented singer-songwriter with a true raw edge rock flare! She is and will be for a long time, someone that every rock concert goer MUST go see! And no, I was not paid to write this. Jeff - Evans, GA

Variety playhouse, Atlanta GA 7/23/10 Amazing show by opening band Blues & Lasers. Grace Potter & the Nocturnals are unforgettable. Her voice will give you chills. For me it's a musical blend of Stevie Nicks+Janis Joplin+Aretha Franklin. Her & her amazingly talented band will go far. A must see!!!! Not to mention in person- very humble, sweet genuine group of people.

It appears Grace Potter and the Nocturnals are selling out to commercialism and trying to appeal to the mass audience instead of staying with creativity and quality. After the show I listened to a few ot their earlier cds like Original Soul and thought wow what happened? The volume was so loud at the show it sounded like mush and at times Grace's vocals got lost except for when she would scream. I hate to sound negative but this is a very talented band and to me they have gone backwards. I wonder if some marketing executive is giving them guidance to appeal to the masses and go for the big bucks? Please go back to your roots!

It's rare when a live show transends from a night of entertainment into a shared experience that is seared into the memories of everyone there, including the band. Grace Potter and the smoking Nocturnals were pure energy last night at the 20th Century and nobody there will ever forget it. If you can catch this band in a small venue do it now. Gigs in small venues are about to end for Grace Potter. This is the most exhilerating show that I have seen in years. The new material played like instant classics, the covers were spot on and the older material was super charged. I'm looking to see where I can catch them again before this tour ends.

Grace Potter has started to get much deserved recognition, and a lot of the people that attended last night's show were first timers which is great! I have seen Grace Potter since 2006 when she played at Bonnaroo, and have been going to her shows ever since. The music has been getting more layered, and although the band has changed its composition a little, they just become more and more pleasing to the ears. Plus, Grace just keeps getting hotter. Seriously, one of the most attractive women. I love the bands energy, and they always have great set lists. For the price of their shows, I would recommend that everyone should go see them at least once- they will be legends in our time!

The energy at this show was amazing! I've seen GPN about 5 or 6 times now and there was definitely something different about this show. Like the way they mixed new and old, so you weren't bombarded with new songs that haven't been released yet. Really excited about this band blowing up soon, but I'm going to miss the days of paying only $23 to see them. Don't change too much Gracie! We love you just the way you are....

This was a pretty darn good concert. Grace Potter and The Nocturnals had such great stage presence. Grace was dancing around and moving back and forth between guitar, tambourine, and piano. I go to upwards of 30 concerts a year and I can honestly say she had the best stage performance of any lead singer I have seen (and I am not a Grace Potter & The Nocturnals mega fan). My issue with the concert was the opening act Anais Mitchell. She has a very difficult voice and her songs were very boring. Everyone in the audience talked through her set and nobody seemed to enjoy her music. I overheard one man saying it was the most boring performance he had ever seen. There was a great turnout for the event and everyone had a great time when the main act came on. I recommend going to see Grace Potter And The Nocturnals live if you can!

This concert was legitimately the best concert I have ever seen. The entire band was talented beyond belief and were marvelous at keeping the audience entertained throughout the entire show. The nocturnals did things on stage I have never seen before that made the concert unbelievably memorable. Even if you have never heard one of Grace Potter's songs, this concert will make you rock. I suggest her highly to one and all who want a good show.

Grace Potter and the Nocturnals were freaking amazing. They hit the stage with so much energy and obvious love for what they were doing that you can't not be swept up in it. Grace has this vibe reminiscent of a 70's rock goddess and she and the rest of the band have serious musical chops. They are truly authentic - this is not a band that was manufactured by a label in a studio, nor are the Nocturnals mere backers for Grace. They are a solid, cohesive, rokkin unit, and they are freaking great. I go to 5 - 10 rokk shows per year and GPN blew everyone else I've seen over the past few years right out of the water! The opening act, Anais Mitchell and her electric guitarist (can't remember his name at the moment - Jeff I think?) were also really good - the electric / acoustic fingerpicking interplay being my favorite part of their sound. Really, really great show all around.

It's true, the Nocturnals are an amazing rock band that kept us on the edge of our seats, but Grace Potter herself was a God on stage. There wasn't a moment when she wasn't completely into her music, her band, and the audience (aka me). Her voice could give you chills with songs like "Big White Gate" and get an entire crowd jumping with songs like "Ah Mary." Grace is truly a performer and you cannot be disappointed after the show!!

I was delighted last evening at the show. Despite reported jetlag from returning from London the band was tight,, energetic and blew the roof off the place. Grace Potter is such a soulful, refreshing , energetic artist. Her band is tightly weaved, the music just fills the room with terrific flow..... and they can jam!! With Grace playing acoustic, flying V, and the organ she sure keeps her energy high. The band has really grown in the past few years. Grace Potter and the Nocturnals will surely be a household name. If folks haven't checked them out, you should. You will not be disappointed.

Grace & the Nocturnals are a powerhouse rock act. They tore the roof off the Electric Factory from the moment they set foot onstage. Their presence, their style, their passion, and their incredible musicianship was just awe-inspiring. I feel like this must have been what it was like to go to see some of the greatest of the 70's & 80's rock acts live. GPN just simply oozes rock and roll. Love them. Honored to be a fellow Vermonter. ;-)

Grace Potter and the Nocturnals brought an incredible show. They put out such an energetic and powerful performance. I have seen them probably 6-8 times and they get better every time. I was really sad that the road crew just crumbled up the set lists instead of giving them to the fans that were asking for them. If you are just throwing them away why not give them to someone who will collect and hold onto such a momento???

It was fantastic! Only thing was the crowd was more of a "winery crowd" than your typical concert crowd (hence the venue) but near the end it got more rowdy. The venue was beautiful and they sounded great live. They had great energy, overall great show.

I hate the Minnesota Zoo and I hate humid, sweaty venues, but Grace Potter & the Nocturnals made it all worth while! It was my 2nd time seeing the band and it was still as fresh as the 1st. Grace Potter's voice can go from angelic & sweet to a raunchy scream with the flip of a switch. She has a truly magical voice as demonstrated by her acapella encore of "Nothing But The Water". The band totally rocks and plays wonderful blues, jazz & reggae beats as well. I love them!

Let's get the bad stuff out of the way first. I was a bit miffed that the tickets stated an 8pm showtime but GPaTN did not start until 9pm. Turns out, 8pm designated the DJ start time. Someone could've made this a bit clearer as it would have changed when we showed up. Also, The Ogden, while visually, acoustically, and functionally pleasing, was as hot as you-know-where. So, know when to show, dress light. and drink plenty of water. And, oh yeah, don't forget the earplugs. With that aside, on to the good stuff. GPaTN were fantastic, start to finish!! Grace grabs most of the spotlight (duh?) but she gives plenty of appreciation and stage time to The Nocturnals, a very gifted group of musicians and performers. This band has a wide musical palette, is very tight, and executes well. At times, they reminded me of Janis Joplin w/ Big Brother and The Holding Company, Tina Turner, and 60's psychedelic jam rock. At other times, they ventured into their twist on blues, folk, and even gospel. They even executed dueling guitar rifts and voice/guitar mirroring. Good God!! Mostly, they played original music. They were not afraid, though, to cover those that influenced them. Many music acts these days overwhelm with bling and relegate the music to the periphery. Don't get me wrong, GPaTN are GREAT performers. Their energy was/is contagious. And when we responded, they gave us more. That said, it was quite apparent that the music came first. Each musician came out of their muscial "zone" to interact with the crowd then fell back into the zen that is a musician and their instrument. It was wonderful to behold and experience. If these guys are within 100 miles of your home and you do not see them, you will have missed a pure expression of music performance.

Grace and the group were outstanding the whole night. A few times, they brought me back to the days of Big Brother and The Holding Company and Jefferson Airplane. They are as tight musically as The Band was at their peak. They are a musical force ascending!!! The House of Blues is a great venue. I swear it is where a club called The Boston Tea Party used to be. I saw Led Zeppelin and Jethro Tull, to name a few, play their early American gigs there before they hit it big.

Here s how it went down on Thurs night. My wife actually went to a concert with me! After a decent dinner at the HOB restaurant, we went to the Concert Hall Balcony seats and watched Jonathan Tyler & The Northern Lights open the show. They had a cool 70 s rock sound with good original tunes and did a commendable cover of Zep s version of Bring It On Home. But, I alternated between digging their sound and wincing in pain, as the volume (especially the vocals) was just way too loud. 45 minutes was enough and we moved to some empty seats in the 3rd row center and waited for Grace Potter & the Nocturnals. I had been interested in GPN since they opened up for Gov t Mule @ Meridian in 2007, and was thoroughly impressed. She is an amazing singer, excellent Hammond Organ player, and of course, not bad on the eyes. I recently checked out their latest CD (and accompanying videos) and was shocked at how great the songs were and how much they had slicked up their production and look. They also switched to a chick bass player and added another guitarist. The show featured many of the new songs, with my favorites being an extended version of Oasis and really nice renditions of Only Love and Low Road. She also sang a killer song called White Gate, backed by the 2 Guitarists on acoustics. I wasn t familiar with Apologies, but the song definitely made an impression. Overall, the band s sound was a nice blend of Rockin Soul & Blues, at just the right volume and mix. Grace had an electric on-stage presence and showed a great rapport with lead guitarist Scott Tournet. Watching their talents at work made me wonder if they didn t have similarities to Lindsey Buckingham and Stevie Nicks, and the magic they made with Fleetwood Mac in the mid 70 s. I really enjoyed the guitar work (which ranged from heavy to very cool, subtle licks) and was mesmerized by Grace s incredible vocals/legs.

Grace Potter and the Nocturnals are a great high energy good time! Her music ranged from some 60's-70's style rock almost like Jefferson Airplane, to some incredible Gospel solo to the high energy finish with Medicine and Paris (Ewe La La). Not only is Grace and her lovely Basist easy on the eyes but the way she moves around the stage total entranced in the music makes for a great show. The band is the perfect compliment with incredible gutair work and the drummer has quite a personality of his own.

Grace Potter and the Nocturnals, a Jay Leno favorite (2 appearances in the past month), have been playing to packed houses across the country. Last night's show at House of Blues was no different. GPN, as they are known to their fans, are a Vermont Based rock band that has been around for a few years but have recently become more popular after their cover of Jefferson Airplane's "White Rabbit" was heard in the Johnny Depp movie "Alice In Wonderland" and the release of their third album, the self-title "Grace Potter and the Nocturnals" , which include the hits "Oasis" and "Paris (Ooh La La)". Supporting Grace are her incredibly talented band, The Nocturnals made up of guitarist Scott Tournet, drummer Matt Burr, guitarist Benny Yurco, and Catherine Popper the winner of "Best Legs for a Bass Player in a Rock Band". GPN blew the roof off the House for just short of two hours last night with songs like" Hot Summer Love", "One Short Night" and "Oasis". Grace displayed her amazingly soulful voice on "Apologies" and "2:22" , the latter from GNP's first album, "Nothing But The Water". The band finished the night with an incredible cover of Heart's "Crazy On You", they were then joined on stage by the opening act, Chamberlin to perform "Big White" and finally closed the evening the way they started it, pumping up the crowd with some good old rock and roll with the previously mentioned mega-hit "Paris (Ooh La La).

We had very high expectations for this show, having recently discovered this amazing band (and then getting virtually everything they ve ever recorded,) and they FAR exceeded every one of those expectations at the Atlanta show. Great length and content- there were a few songs that we missed but so many others that we weren't expecting that we were far from disappointed. The energy level and sheer fun coming off everyone on stage was palpable, and contagious. Having never heard of Blues & Lasers, the openers, and having never seen all of the Nocturnals live before, we couldn't figure out why they sounded so good either- until the Nocturnals took the stage and we saw that 3/5 of Blues & Lasers were 3/4 of the Nocturnals! Seeing the two guitarists and the drummer play two complete shows- with no loss of energy or enthusiasm- only made it better. Grace herself was totally impressive in every sense of the word. Her voice, her musical ability, her strut- all were first class. This band is becoming a force to be reckoned with, and it's so refreshing to see a band with such strong and deep musical chops doing well- definitely a case of substance over style (though their style's not too shabby, either!) Can't imagine having a better time or seeing a better show. Easily the best show of the 25+ I've seen in the last 2 years or so.

If you have the least bit of interest in Grace Potter & the Nocturnals, you need to lose the hesitation and go see a show. NOW. We drove just under 5 hours--to the mess that is Atlanta--just to see this band and the opener for the 8th or 9th time. Lots of energy, lots of legs. You're sorely missing out if you don't ever experience this band. Do it soon before they start packing the bigger venues.

I thought she was great. She will be moving on to larger venues from here out. I really can't say anything bad. (her version of Heart of Glass not my favortie) She has a tremendous future ahead. I hope she doesn't get all Hollywooded up on us. (see Sheryl Crow) All that said there was bit of a bad taste with the opening act. The opener was the Nocturnals with a different bass player and an extra drum. Its not that they were that bad, technically they were fine. But, songwriting isn't their thing. Every song was too much and in your face. Take a handful of cliche riffs and tricks and jam them all in one song. They were simply trying way to hard. I didn't like them at all and it was a sour taste when Grace started. BUT, when they playing in support roles they were much more under control and subdued. They can add to the chorus but can't hold a lead vocal position.

This band continues to amaze with one of the best front women in rock and roll today. Over the years she has evolved into a stunner and her voice, energy and soul are matched by her wicked organ strains. Backed up by the awesome guitar riffs of Scott Tournet (you have to read his bio on their site. It's priceless) great rhythm guitar of Benny Yurco (whew, he's HOT!!) and (how nice nice to see another woman bass player) Cat Popper, this band is high octane all the way. They mixed a good portion of their new album (their cd dropped this week) with classic faves like "Apologies", "Big White Gate" and the ever phenomenal show closer "Nothing but the Water" Grace "has the medicine that everybody wants".... An absolutely amazing show!!

I was in Boston this weekend with the sole purpose of seeing GPN at the House of Blues and it was an INCREDIBLE show, as always. Grace and crew never disappoint! I still wonder where they get all that energy from, night after night. Just when I think there's nothing they could do better, Grace gets herself sexily tangled in the mic cord (on purpose) and then kicks off her heels to belt out a ballad at the organ, literally bouncing out of her seat as she plays. And lets not forget Cat, who got her hurr did by Grace, delivering those driving bass lines and nonchalantly chewing her gum. The chemistry between Scott and Benny was great Friday night, too, especially during Tiny Light and Oasis. They all looked like they were having such a blast (despite jetlag) and Grace seemed to thank and embrace the crowd even more than usual. Here s to the Meantime made a surprise appearance in the setlist, bringing back one of my old favorites. It s funny, I was just saying the other day how I wish they would bring that one back, and then poof! There it was. One of my favorite parts of a GPN show is always looking around at people s faces right before Grace comes on stage for the first time. Those who haven t seen her live before are usually left slack-jawed by her sequined, tambourine-shaking, heel-wearing presence and soulful squeals. Oh, and we can t forget her legs either, especially during 2:22. That dance was certainly not for the faint of heart. Anais Mitchell and Jefferson Tamer did a great job of warming up the crowd, giving us an entertaining mix of singer/songwriter folk tunes which stood out thanks to Mitchell s unique voice, and quirky numbers from her new album, a folk opera entitled Hadestown. Being from Vermont, I had heard of Anais Mitchell before but never really listened to her. Now, after seeing her perform, I can t wait to go out and buy her records--especially Hadestown, which features well-known artists including Ani DiFranco and Justin Vernon of Bon Iver. Every GPN show will take you for a ride. Grace, Scott, Cat, Benny, and Matt will always find a new way to entertain you and leave you wanting more. I know I always do.

I have read reviews in regards to their shows in the past and I can now relate to them. The power and range of her voice is simply unbelievable. The energy of the show is non-stop. It was a pleasant surprise to hear the band perform music from other artists. I will eagerly await the next album (cd) and the next show.

This was the fourth GP & N headlining show in the fourth different city that I've seen over the last three years. This show featured the best setlist order and performance of the shows I've seen. Congrats to the Sam Roberts Band for a fine opening set. The sound mix was excellent for both acts. Grace is an energetic talented performer at the top of her game. The Nocturnals are terrific musicians and they were great. I'd be remiss to not mention the enthusiastic crowd that maintained a high level of support for the entire show.

This was a great show overall. it was her second to last show before taking a break from touring and she brought it all that night. She played a lot of songs I really wanted to hear and all the old hits. This was my 4th Grace Potter show and one of the best.I love seeing her at The Fillmore. Would recommend going to see her any chance u get when she starts touring again. GO GRACE!!

Grace Potter and The Nocturnals will rock your face off! There is no artist out there like Grace Potter today. She is insanely hot with her 70's rock glam style, she switches between the piano and electric guitar in the same song without missing a beat (or head bang), and man has she got some pipes! Reminiscent of the 70's female rock duo Heart, Grace Potter is a rock goddess! You might even say a female equivalent of Dave Grohl. Don't miss a chance to see Grace Potter & The Nocturnals live! Male or female, young or old-this is a show for anyone with music in their soul. And if you are lucky, you may be able to catch it at an amazing venue like we did at the Mandalay Bay Beach in Las Vegas.

They are one of my absolute top bands to see. I try to see them every time they are in town and fall into a deep depression when I miss them. You get everything you've ever asked for in a live show. Beautiful people, kick ass instrumental solos and a lead singer that is humble, personable, engages in the crowd and proves herself time and time again just by singing one note. Grace is a pixie dancing around in between beats & jamming hard on her guitar while she channels Janice Joplin and Jimi Hendrix at the same time. Just when you think you've seen it all the band showcases the group drum solo then wraps it up with a sweet melodic ballad that brings you to tears. Music feeds my soul and attending concerts and live performances are my favorite things to do in life. I am so glad I get to look forward to many years with this RIDICULOUSLY AWESOME band!!!!!

The Best unknown American Rock band of our time. Grace is the reigning Queen of Rock. Fun filled evening with out a break. I think with the right management they would be in the mainstream. Grace Potter's voice is simply transcendent. The notes she hits, while dancing around the stage like a total rock star, are incredible. And the Nocturnals only rise to her occasion. The diversity of the crowd there to see them perform is nothing more than a testament to how far reaching talent like theirs can be. I hope to see many more performances of theirs and my only wish is that they can enjoy the success of bands with half their talent.

Grace Potter & The Nocturnals have earned their place in the History of Music. From Vermont to Cali to NYC, GPN has been working hard at their craft and I can only hope the world will finally get the opportunity to hear what I have heard. From the moment they touched the stage at the BEACON THEATRE you could feel the electricity. The building was rocking, the fans were excited, and GPN delivered a KILLER performance. The sultry, soul, edgy, rock voice of Grace Potter got under your skin at every turn. She was mesmerizing. Scott Tournet and Benny Yurco kept you enthralled with their guitar playing. They kept the crowd hyped. And of course you can't leave out the drummer... Matt Burr just killed it!!! He got you feeling the beat and rocking to what Grace was putting down! Again, they have earned their spot in history and I am glad I was able to be a part of it!!!

Grace Potter & the Nocturnals put on one hell of a show! First of all, they sound even better live than recorded, so if you're at all into their music, just do it. They are road warriors, with a seemingly endless tour. Their sound is SO GOOD, defying genre. And holy smoke, Grace Potter is a flaming ball of energy. That woman never stops -- she dances around the stage in super high heels while singing, and energy pours from her body while playing guitar or organ. A seriously top notch entertainer, Grace is a delight. Her talent and hard work are stunning -- do yourself a favor and see them live.

Grace Potter is the definition of pure entertainment and talent. Her vocals are incredible; her energy is magnetic, and she captivates the whole place with her passion and meaningful lyrics. I honestly cannot wait to see her again. I loved every second of the show and wish it didn't have to end. Her setlist was awesome, but then again, she can't really go wrong there with all of her relatable and captivating songs. Grace Potter and the Nocturnals was hands down the most fun concert I've been to, in terms of pure entertainment, raw talent, and being able to connect to the words of her songs. I LOVED THIS SHOW!

Previously I had seen Grace only on TV and YouTube, when the Paris Ooh La La video mesmerized me. But in person (we were right up front), she and her band blew us away! It was like Janis Joplin had been reborn as an incredibly beautiful and sexy woman with a smoother voice that could wail even higher and mightier. Another comparison that came to mind: she's a female John Fogerty (and he IS the best). This is one TALENTED woman ... she certainly is the best female rocker on the scene today, and she deserves WAY more attention. The crowd was ROCKING OUT for the whole concert, and it wasn't just young folks - there were many oldies like me (70) who were just plain loving it (and hoping to survive all that excitement). I hope Grace and the Nocturnals start getting more of the recognition and audience they deserve because I'd sure like to see more of them. Hail Grace, the Queen of Rock and Roll and the Sexiest Woman on Earth - I love you, Grace!

I've always known Grace Potter was talented, but until seeing her LIVE, I had no clue just how good she was. WHAT A PERFORMANCE! She's a true rock goddess with the swagger and onstage personality of Robert Plant and David Lee Roth PLUS she's got a VOICE and plays a mean guitar! The Nocturnals, her band, are equally impressive and work in complete simpatico with her. Seriously, I had no clue what I was going to get at this concert, but I certainly didn't expect to get blown away the way I did. GRACE ROCKS!

I took my mom to this concert because she like the song she did with Kenny Chesney but I was not prepared to enjoy the show as much as I did! I was ignorant to the fact that she was such an amazing artist.. From the very second she walked on the stage until the last song of her encore she was phenomenal! So much energy but even with her jumping around on stage she sounded perfect. I was so impressed I bought my wife tickets to the next nights show in Charlotte NC! She loved it just as much if not more that I did! Can't wait to the next tour, We'll both be there!!

My wife and I really enjoyed the show. Grace is an amazing singer and performer, and the band is awesome. Having said that we were exited to here her perform the hit songs that we knew from the radio. It wasn't until the encore performance of Paris that we heard a song we knew. I kept assuring my wife they would play Stars and Never ComeBack etc. but then it was over. So, while Paris rocked and we still love GP and the Ns, I left feeling a little ticked that she didn't play ours and probably everyone else's favorites. Would go see them again though!

I was not impressed. Band was not lighted from the front. Keyboard player preformed in the dark for most of the performance. Music was very good, however the musicians should remember that the people are out front. Do not care about the performers backs; and what was that fancy bathrobe that Grace was wearing? I am also not a fan of the light show. Flashing whatevers in your face the whole time. There is a difference between stageing and a laser light show which is great at Disney World.
