Jello Biafra

JELLO BIAFRA IN CONCERT:Jello Biafra pioneered hardcore punk with his band Dead Kennedys, and fans will be glad to know that the iconoclastic frontman continues to provoke and entertain at his incendiary solo shows. Biafra pulls no punches when it comes to his pointed political views, and he's constantly updating and rewriting favorites like "Holiday in Cambodia," "California Über Alles," and "Kill the Poor" to fit the current political climate. His talented backing band recreates the incendiary riffs and high-speed attacks of his hardcore punk heyday, leaving him free to crowd surf and whip ticket buyers into a frenzy with his rallying-cry lyrics and wild-eyed intensity. Jello Biafra's righteous indignation and sardonic sense of humor make his adrenaline-fueled, politically charged shows a must for punk fans of all ages.

Jello came out in a lab coat and surgeons gloves covered in blood. Underneath he was wearing a bloody, ralph steadman looking, american flag shirt. He proceeded to rant and rave about everything you can possibly imagine and left no prisoners. Nothing is safe from him. The man is a god. He can reenact the tedium of working a desk job while screaming a song so fast i can't even imagine it right now as we speak. The speed was too amazing. Overall, the guy rules.

having seen the DK's in richmond around '83, i didn't know what to expect. 25yrs (and 25lbs) haven't affected his ability to offend & entertain. the new record sounds great ~ its prolly about the best new punk record to be released lately. kudos to the norva for allowing an all ages show and especially for allowing the kids to mosh ~ and the cheap tickets were cool.

Jello's energy, voice and stage presence were same as always. The GSM songs were great, the three DK tunes drove the place nuts.
