Jodeci

It is unusual to go to a concert to see more than one artist.. With H-Town, SILK and Jodeci joined together, what an amazing moment to sing on their famous songs !!! Kudos !!!

Let me start off by saying that I have been a Jodeci fan since 1992 when first purchasing their cassette tape Forever My Lady". It introduced me to such amazing slow jams along with the classic new jack swing music of that era. I have literally listened to that album countless times and it never gets old. Needless to say I was ecstatic when I saw they were performing at House of Blues in Orlando. As crazy as it seems to some (me being the whitest white guy you'll ever see in life) they have always been one of my all time favorites and this was on my "bucket list" in finally seeing them live. I was ecstatic and purchased tickets right away. When the day of the show finally arrived, I was sure to be at HOB two hours before they were set to take the stage with my girlfriend and we were lucky enough to be front row as it was a packed house. Sadly, things didn't start off smoothly. The doors opened at 7:00 pm and he show was set to start at 8:00pm. The band didn't go on stage until 9:10 pm. Standing there for over two hours was infuriating. Some were even starting to wonder if the show was going to happen at that point. Luckily it did as Jodeci finally hit the stage at 9:20 pm. The wait was well worth it! They started out with classics from all of their albums Forever My Lady up to their latest The Past Present and Future. K-Ci even did "All My Life" and had the entire House of Blues singing along. Absolutely amazing and they still all sounded incredible! They even had ex Death Row Records member Danny Boy singing back up during the show which was very cool to see! When the show was over I was in my own old school euphoria world having flashbacks of all the times in life I've listened to their music and it helped me get through way too many different situations to list. I truly hope they come back to Florida again someday. If you're a classic old schooler like myself or even someone who just loves the sound of amazing slow jams, DO NOT MISS THIS SHOW! On a side note - After the show one of the Jodeci security guys handed my girlfriend (who was looking let's say very boobalicious at the time LOL) a backstage pass. Knowing the history of the Jodeci, I politely declined her taking up that offer. Nope, I wasn t mad as I d probably do the same thing if famous while on the road! Play on playas! Robert L Beukema

Jodeci did a GREAT job; however I feel the show should have started on time and they should have sang more songs.

I have been a fan of Jodeci since the early 90 ' s and I've waited my whole life to see them in person. It was the best night of my entire life!

I have waited forever on a Jodeci reunion. They still look and sound awesome. I am giving this 4 stars because the show started an hour late and their opening act, Troop only did 3 songs. Tony Toni Tone did a great job on their set. Jodeci only did very few songs and a couple of them were not even the full song. It probably lasted 25 minutes. I feel cheated on the time but their performance was classic.

My husband and I were very disappointed in Jodeci's performance because the lead singer (KC) was drunk or high to the point that he could not perform. He literally staggered across the stage and belted out incomplete lines of songs. He really looked as though he could have fallen over at any moment. It's a shame that a great group such as Jodeci cannot do well because of their lead singer's addiction problems. All the other guys of the group did well. I sincerely hope that KC gets his act together. Also, the music was extremely loud...I think to drown out KC drunken singing problems. I will never pay good money to see Jodeci again.

My boyfriend and I are huge Jodeci Fans so I got him tickets as a early Father's day gift. The show was the bomb!!!! Case opened up for them which was a great surprise. We really enjoyed ourselves. Only thing was they didn't sing allll of their hits but overall I enjoyed it. I was up out my seat majority of the time...it took me way back to my high school college years. Loved It!!!!!

It was great to see Jodeci back together, performing again. However, they need to polish up their stage act before their full tour schedule begins. Fans expect performers to put on a "show" these days when they pay for a concert. The performers can no longer just show up, stand on stage, and sing.

Excellent show from start to finish. All of the groups kept me on my feet and did not miss a beat.

when I say there was never a dull moment thats an understatement !!!!!!! the show started on time and shai never sounded so good, H Town made u apart of the show they brung me and a few other women on stage, I got song to by the lead singer Lil Gee and a kiss blown my way and even Kci held my hand as he sung forever my lady , the only thing i hate was that the fourth member was not present of Jodeci where the hell is DeVante Swing.???? I think they should have mentioned why he wasnt present that was a true disappointment to me....but you didnt miss him because Mr. Dalvin did the damn thang, I truly never knew he could sing SMH LOL, i give the RnB concert 4 stars because the 5th star was present .... someone go find my husband Devante from Jodeci pleaseeeeeeeeeeeee go see the show definitely worth the money people !!!!!!!!!!

All acts were amazing!! Shai! HTown! Silk! Then Jodeci performed last and absolutely killed it!! I've been a fan since I was a pubescent girl so this was a 25 yo dream come true for me!

I enjoyed the concert from beginning to end however, I feel as though big screens should have been in place for those who had balcony seats. Also, parking should not have been 23.00 especially when people paid close to 200.00 for two tickets. These are my only critiques of the event.

My group had a great time at the concert and had fun reminiscing on songs that we grew up with. The MC wasn't great and should really take note of what works with crowds, etc.

Despite missing 1/4 of the group, the show was very entertaining. Most of the classics were sung - it was like their greats hits, live!

This was such a GREAT CONCERT!!! I had a blast. It was supposed to be Jodeci. H-Town, & Next, but Next did not show for whatever reason. H-Town had awesome set and Jodeci tore the house down. The crowd was on their feet from the time they hit the stage until their set ended. I was having the time of my life.

We wished the show would never end! They had the same energy, vibe, and oh, those voices that made us love 'em since our pre-teens. Felt like nothing changed. Such an amazing show! Thank you Jodeci and everyone involved with making it all come together ^_^

I paid to see Next, H-Town, and Jodeci. The start time for the show on the ticket said 9p.m. I was there prior to and did not see Next perform. Another consumer said she had arrived at 8:30p.m. and did not see Next perform (no show). H-Town put on a good performance, and Jodeci was missing one of their group members (Devante). I would not pay $140+ to see Jodeci perform again. Vocally they are not as good as they used to be, they could not sing an entire verse without the assistance of the audience members. I understand they are not as young as they used to be, but I was expecting for Jodeci to put on a good performance and my expectations were not met.

I am a long time Jodeci fan since there first album. Not being able to see them in the 90's in there prime and then them breaking up for so long. Had to jump on this. It is unfortunate for the the main singers as you can see drugs and alcohol has affected there performance level of singing but K-Ci still has most of his. Just unfortunately some of the life of his voice is missing but overall still great. Anyways the theatre sound could of been better as it was hard to understand what exactly was being sung as far as the words at times. Maybe it was the singers, mics, speakers, crowd noise, venue but that is just my opinion of my experience of the sound of the singing. I paid a lot of money and unfortunately Jodeci only played for 1 single hour. They made there money and it was disapointing as I think they would of sung more songs or longer songs as some of there songs were cut short. Then they left the stage kind of quickly and it was over. No nothing after and the ushers were kicking us out of the seats. For what I spent I was actually expecting all for Jodeci members. Longer songs. Clearer sound from Jodeci and the band. But concert was a straight hour and that was it. Time to go. I wish there would of been a more of them to spend time with there fans and autographs but I guess most artists don't do this..... Don't know I don't go to many concerts per year. Just basing it on value of the ticket. Happy I went anyways and something I am proud to of witnessed. Just wish all 4 members were there. Not sure what happened to Devante. The venue is nice and clean and in a great location from parking.

This was a sizzling hot performance. They sounded great & the band was super!!!

They sound just as good as they sounded over 20 years ago. I would see Jodeci again.

The show was to short and it looked like they was out of breath after performing the second song and they forgot some of the words to there songs. On the other hand my boyfriend enjoyed it and was his first concert and was able to see his favorite group Jodeci perform. Not to sure if I will be purchasing tickets to see them in concert again. I felt I didn't get my money worth for what I felt should've been longer and not just 45mins for each group to perform.

Attended the Love and Happiness concert featuring Tyrese and Jodeci in San Antonio, Texas. That was the worst concert I have ever been to. I am a huge fan of Jodeci's and that was the only reason I went to the concert. OMG!! I was so disappointed. It was tragic to sit there and watch their performance. In the area I was sitting in no one was clapping and people were laughing, that is how bad they sounded. All that talent gone to waste. NEVER AGAIN!!

It was one of the best concerts I've ever been too. I'd go again if they come back this way.

It was a pleasant surprise to find out Ginuwine was the opening act. Both Ginuwine and Jodeci put on a wonderful performance. The only down side was the concert was too short.

Great concert! Cons: Wish Jodeci could have performed longer Pros: Ginuwine did excellent. There was dancing, grinding, special moment for the couples, rose give away and sweaty towel give away. Jodeci performace was great. K-CI was energetic. Came out into the audience and took off his shirt. Jojo did a nice solo. Davon looked great and handed out roses. Davonte was not there.

Saw Genuwine and Jodeci they both put on an amazing show. Got the crowd going lots of laughs and good music.

I will never pay to see Jodeci again. They were all high the entire night. K-CI was the worst of all. He was obscene and disrespectful. I was so disappointed by their performance. I've been a fan for years and I couldn't believe there lack of professionalism.

They cannot sing anymore. They came out late and the concert was over by 10:25. Ginuwine should have been the main artist. He saved the night!

A little disappointing that Next didn't show up and missing member from a jodeci ...paid over 150.00 for each ticket. What do you expect.

It only took me a couple decades to see Jodeci in concert and I'm glad I did. They put On a show. Devante didn't show up, not really sure if he's in the group Anymore. Didn't matter I was there for Dalvin!!

90's R&B is still present!! The guys sang all their hits and still sounded amazing!!! They were very involved with the fans and it was a really good time!!! After the show DeVante and KC-I came off the tour bus to take pictures with fans !!! I love Jodeci & Case and can't wait to see them again !!!!

The group H Town sounded good and they put on a decent show since there are only two members now. Silk put on a great show and was the best performers at this venue by far. Jodeci s performance was interesting and could've been better. Most of the songs where cut short and the sound was a little too loud over their vocals. KC sang most of the songs and his performance was "meh" and it seems like something was going on with Jo Jo because he really couldn't sing his verses. I don't think his voice is what it used to be and you can tell by his performance. It seemed like the backup singers sounded better than both of them and was almost carrying them with their own vocals. I probably won t go to another show but I went to see if they still have it and apparently they don't. I was a little disappointed and felt bad for Jo Jo because he was the one member that I really liked and appreciated his vocal skills that he had. Sad! ;-(

If you haven't seen these groups-GO SEE THEM! K-CI was drunk.. lol. I appreciate Jodeci performed in Oakland Raider attire along with their Jodeci shirts. The drummer must have to Marshawn Lynches Beastmode store b/c he had a Beastmode shirt on. Glad they supported local businesses when in the Bay. Silk was nasty-in a good way!

Both my husband and I were extremely disappointed in this event. First off, the sound was terrible. We couldn't hear anything from the singers themselves, only the bass. Secondly, the 3 bars were always full and the lines were at least 30 minutes. We were not allowed to leave and get a drink from a neighbor bar.

Jodeci exceeded expectations, they were amazing! A friend and I have been waiting to see them since they mentioned going on tour with R. Kelly years back so we jumped on the opportunity to see them when they came to Oakland. Let me tell you - they still have it!! We sang til our voices went harsh, then sang all the way home. We definitely missed DeVante Swing but they held it down in his absence. Hoping they decide to keep it going and keep performing because we would definitely see them again - great, great show!!

Music too loud singing off key often and difficult to understand lyrics being sung

Jodeci is my all-time favorite R&B group of any generation, and I was elated to see they were performing the weekend of my birthday. I was disappointed that the local radio stations weren't marketing the show, which would have easily sold-out had they done so. But I guess it was lucky for my husband and me since we bought tickets the day of (not resales either). The venue is beautiful, with a grand staircase leading up to the balcony seating. There were three full bars, but they weren't enough to keep up with the demand of the attendees. The opening acts Silk and H-Town were good, although I don't know many of their other songs other than their main hits. But they were on for a good two hours before Jodeci came on stage (show started promptly at 8 and the main act was on at 10pm.) They came out with all their hits from the Forever My Lady album. Of course they also sang Cry for You, Feenin and Freek'n U. KCi definitely had to keep the ladies at bay, and several times his security had to fight off concert-goers clawing for just a touch of his saggy jeans. After all these years, he still got it! LOL It was too bad Devonte wasn't there, but I still loved the performance. Hope this won't be the last time I get to see them perform.

There was a VERY log set list that started right at 8pm. Appreciate the timeliness, however the show ran long until almost 1am. Jodeci didn't come on till 11:50pm. They were amazing though. Could've done without Ginuwine, seemed like he didn't even know the words to his own songs and had his back up singers or the crowd sing most of his lyrics. Jon B is one of my faves, but he was off key. En Vogue came out and killed it. They looked and sounded GREAT! Blackstreet and 112 also did well. Jodeci was amazing. It was great to see them. They still sounded so good and gave it their all. I will always love them the most out of any R&B group. I hope they come back soon!!! Downtown Julie Brown hosted, but it seemed like she ran out of steam towards the end as she didn't even come out towards the end.

IT WAS LIT!!!! I have been a fan of Jodeci for as long as I can remember, so it was only right that I purchased 2 front row tickets to the show at the masonic temple on December 3rd 2016. These tickets were $200.00 a piece plus tax and sales charges. However, It seemed as if everything was trying to prevent me from getting there. I tried to arrive early only to smell smoke in my vehicle, I had to park it several blocks away (3rd and E. forest), grab my lovely wife, and be forced to watch it go up in smoke from afar. For those concerned A mechanic improperly repaired the Blower motor resistor on my vehicle causing it to be faulty and catch fire. I did not have time to get anything but my wife out of the vehicle before it exploded. We are both thankful to be alive. After making statements with the police, removing the vehicle, and being cleared to leave. We were escorted by the police to the masonic temple and left quite an impression entering the concert. People were complaining about a late start but we was actually thankful for it because we did not want to miss anything. Shai was good, H-town did awesome, silk was great, they raised the bar, and exceeded any expectation we had of them, but Jodeci was PHENOMINAL. De'vante was not present but Mr. Dalvin made up for it. He was absolutely flawless, and on his A-game. He even played the drums during a part of their set. There was live instruments and they complemented K-Ci's voice really good and made the experience much more intimate and personal. JoJo shined also, he has the ability to blend his voice with the others and harmonized very well. He sounded amazing, especially on his solo parts. I only wish they would've song more songs, but they completely made us forget about the circumstances that occurred prior to the concert. Hopefully that can attest to how incredible these performances were for any viewer who is reading this. If you ever get the opportunity to see Jodeci, H-town, Silk, or Shai live in concert. I strongly recommend you take advantage of it and go see them. Enjoy!!!!!

Unfortunately they were extremely late. The instruments were too loud so you could barely hear them sing and after waiting 3 hours for the show to start they were only on stage for 45 minutes smh

They were 1 1/2hours late and then only performed for 45 mins. They sounded good, just not worth my hour drive to see them.

Show was ok, great for reminscing. The group was 90 minutes late and was nice enough to give us a 40 min show. There was a little dispapointment, hence for the 3 stars

The show started one hour late,their sound system was muffle,half the time you couldn't understand what they was saying too loud also

Concert start time was 7, but Jodeci got on stage at 9:15 or later and they sang maybe 6 songs. K-Ci in his traditional fashion for years was visibly drunk like someone's uncle at a family picnic. Vocals were horrible so they amped up the music to drown out the singers. Too bad that something that could have been a wonderfully nostalgic evening for so many turned into something resembling a Dave Chappelle imitation of K-Ci.

Well, it started out kinda rough. Shai was the opening act, but they didn't sound very good. We couldn't determine if they were having sound issues (mics not on, etc.) or if it was just them. Next was H-Town who sounded great. They didn't attempt to replace Dion, it was just the remaining two members. Silk put on an EXCELLENT performance and it was like seeing them back in the 90s. Jodeci closed out the show minus DeVante. It was pretty much the K-Ci show because just about every song was cut before it got to Jo-Jo's verse. He must've been having issues. K-Ci looked like someone's drunk uncle running around the stage, but that was not a surprise and he sounded ok. Basically Jodeci performed as expected, maybe a little better due to a live band and help from background singers. I've seen them a couple of times post-90s and I think this will be the last time. I don't want to taint the image I still hold of them when they were in their prime. I would recommend the show to those who want to take a step back to the 90s, but are not expecting a spectacular show.

I had a great time listening to these 4 bands - even though, the audio/speakers were of poor quality or worn-out (as heard from the balcony).

Shai did good. H Town did a great job. Silk was the show, they were the bomb. I have waited so long to see Jodeci and I was super excited however it was a huge let down. They were so freaking drunk or appeared to be, they sounded awful and I will say Masonic sound systems is awful. But I expected so much more. Maybe i will catch them again for a better show.

The concert at the Masonic Temple theater started 1.5 hours late. The first group to perform was Shai, and then H-Town. Both groups did a good medley of their most popular songs. Next to perform was the group Silk, they sounded even better than I remember! The years have not hurt their ability to entertain and dazzle the crowd with their dance moves. The moment Jodeci took the stage, the auditorium erupted in applause. They encourage the fans to move closer to the stage and began singing all of their hit songs. The voice quality was excellent, and they demonstrated high energy on the stage. My only hope is that they go back into the recording studio and create some new music. I certainly will attend this event again, it was the old school concert of the year in my opinion!

I was really looking forward to this show and was disappointed to see that they were far from being at their best. KC and Jo Jo were not sober, looked messy and didn't sound that good overall. Davante was the only one that seemed ok. There were a few good moments but overall they were a mess. KC & Jo Jo please get help! Ginuwine really made the show better.

This concert was so much fun . I was up dancing the whole time. There is nothing like 90s r and b . WORTH EVERY PENNY

Rickey Smiley was awesome. The concert was good until Jodeci performed. I will never attend a concert that they will be performing.

Magic City Music Fest was a concert with extreme highs and extreme lows....Doug E Fresh outperformed EVERY act that was a part of this show and was phenomenal...It is truly hard to perform as an artist after his set is complete b/c he works the crowd from start to finish...Dru Hill performed amazing and is a quality act if they are on a concert ticket...SWV did not disappoint but deserved to be the opening act as they are TRULY a warm up act...WARNING - If you are a Jodeci fan, please DO NOT attend any Jodeci concerts as they are NOT the same anymore...From the moment they hit the first note, people began to leave the show immediately...They only showed up with 3 out of the 4 but even if they had all 4, nothing could've saved them...I am a HUGE fan but after the 2nd song, it was a wrap for me...They are NO LONGER a headline OR an opening act...ITS OVER for JODECI...Hope this review helps

Dru Hill, SWV were really good. Their voices still sound great. The only thing I didn't like is that they didn't have a live band. They sang to an instrumental track, but they sounded good. Doug E. Fresh was the so live!!! He turned it out! Jodeci had a live band, but it was wasted on them. I didn't like them and a lot of the audience left during their set. I still definitely recommend this show!

Can you say, "What the heck, Jodeci!?!" Obviously, KC needs some help quick. Disappointing for my first show of these guys. Many prayers guys! Luckily, SWV, Dru Hill, Doug E. Fresh and Rickey Smiley were 'point-on.'

The show was awesome. Rickey Smiley's comedy was a great break in between acts. Definitely going back next year.

The lineup was out of order. Nokio of Dru Hill was sloppy drunk. They were uncoordinated in their attire and moves. The new guy was carrying the group. Cisco couldn't hit his notes anymore. Jodeci was an extreme disappointment. Devante didn't even bother to show up and they just went on with the show without acknowledging it. K-Ci was drunk as usual. They had all sorts of engineering issues. Neither of the two groups seemed to put forth much effort. They just BSd and I was insulted. They sucked and should just stop touring. On the other hand. SWV WAS GREAT. DOUG E FRESH WAS ABSOLUTELY AMAZING AND RICKY WAS HILARIOUS.

I truly enjoyed this concert. All of the acts were good but Doug E Fresh stole the show. SWV still sound and look good. Dru Hill did their thang and they all still have their voices. I went to see DeVante of Jodeici but he was a NO SHOW and the group did not even acknowledge his absence. I was a little disapointed in their performance but I still love them and had a good time.

I really enjoyed the show up until Jodeci came on. I think they could have been more professional. K Ci really disappointed me. I even think Ricky Smiley was kind of dismayed by the way they ended their performance with K Ci throwing the mic to the floor like they put on a hell of a show. Real disappointment.

Everyone did an awesome job except Jodeci. KC was drunk messed up the group. Shouldn't have been the headline. SWV, DRU HILL, and Doug E Fresh were great.

Doug E Fresh and Drew Hill were the best performers featured. Jodeci was horrible! They were the main headliner, and the public was very disappointed. If I could do it over, I would have attended the free concert at Legion Field, I think I would have enjoyed it more.

Dougie Fresh had the crowd hype. He gave a great performance I stayed on my feet. SWV and Dru Hill did good also. Jodeci was ok. Dalvin did a great job singing and rapping but K-Ci sounded like it was hurting him to sing. If it wasn't for the background singers to help them out, it would have been bad.

Rickey Smiley was a good host and he was funny. Dru Hill was on point and so was SWV! Great vocals! jodeci was very good but where was. My Devante? I was not happy about him not coming to Birmingham but I still enjoyed Jodeci and Doug E fresh did an amazing job! I was had fun and thought everything was great.

I love Jodeci, but they Took forever to come out to the point where it began to be awkward for Ricky Smiley to continue wasting time! They did not have a cohesive show. Parts were obviously lip-synched and the parts that were not sounded horrible. SWV, Dougie fresh,and Dru- Hill were on point, obviously prepared for the show, and all sounded fantastic! I would go 10 times again to see those three legendary acts. I may be done with Jodeci! Ricky Smiley was funny as usual! Loved him.

Jodeci need to send K-ci to rehab or replace him . But thanks Birmingham for trying to have a good concert!! It was still nice

The concert were great and fun everyone having good ole times some ladies were dancing in the audience.

Can you say, "High as heck?!" or "What the heck?!" KC was obviously not normal as he hunched, humped and licked his tongue out onstage and also thru the audience as he paraded around. Must say he didn't miss a note though. JoJo didn't sing a note (lip sync'd entire performance), Dalvin was somewhat normal (high too I believe) and Devonta didn't even show up. And what were background singers for???? Was expecting a good performance from the 'headliners' but it was less then mediocre. My first time seeing Jodeci perform. Thankfully SWV, Dru Hill, Doug E. Fresh and Rickey Smiley came thru!!!

I have always loved Jodeci. I remember seeing them at the FOX when I was in the 8th grade in my Jodeci boots and OPP jacket so this concert was a treat! They were in sync for the most part. A lot better than when I saw K-Ci and JoJo at the House of Blues in Houston. I actually left that concert early. They were Horrendous with a capital H. However, they redeemed themselves with this concert.

The performance was great and I can't wait to see them again! I love me some Jodeci :) Hopefully, I'll meet Mr. King Swing himself. He's my favorite! Thank you Jodeci for making June 20th a night to remember! It was well worth the money.

Jodeci was awesome! I loved them, and Jon B was AWESOME aw well. I would see them again
