Got our money's worth. Wish they had started on time instead of an hour early. I missed several acts because they started at 3:30 instead of the scheduled start time. Wish they had a dance area for breakers. I wanted to get down since it was a hip hop concert! Great venue! Should have the 2nd Boom Bash there, too. Also, let people vape their ecigs in their seats. It's an outdoor event!

I was truly impressed with the star studded concert. Boom 92 set a bar that I can only hope will be surpassed next year. The flow of the concert was very good and every artist took me back to my childhood days. Thank you so much.

The concert itself was very good, but it was just an hour long with no opening act. I really feel like we got ripped off...the ticket prices weren't cheap, and you'd expect to get more than an hour show.

Wild 94.9 Boo Bomb Concert included LL Cool J and other performers; however, LL s performance was awesome. His energy onstage is out of this world. His voice is amazing and sounds exactly like his CD s, and his body well that s a completely different story, all I can say is WOW!

This was one of the best Old School concerts I have been to in a long time! Every artist was on point and gave a GREAT performance - even the rain couldn't stop the fun that was going at the Gexa Friday night!

My biggest complaint was that the show started late, but that was minor. It did rain, but so what? Rain was in the forecast, and the entertainers more than made up for the show's delay. Also, those on the lawn were allowed shelter. Every performer was great! Doug E. Fresh stole the show, but L.L. And Bone Thugs did not disappoint either. I wished more t shirts had been for sale. I would have loved an L.L. one. This was a great show for all ages, even families. I know Gexa gets a bad rep sometimes, but I love this venue. I am sick of venues getting so fancy that a concert ticket costs a small fortune. Gexa knows how to put on a show for people who like the outdoor concert experience. If this concert were repeated, rain and all, I would definitely go again. Btw...Fuzzy's Tacos...you rock! Can you bring some steak ones next concert?

I'll start by saying, the line up was Great. All of the performers deserves to be called, Kings of the Mic. I'm from the old school and I must say, BIG Daddy Kane an LL Cool J killed it. However, my husband and I were very disappointed with the wait time in between each performance. For one, it was almost 100 degrees outside so you can imagine the misery there. Good thing, the show started on time at 5:00 so we were hoping to be home by 10pm. Before the rain started. Well the rain started a lot sooner than expected And that really delayed the show. They cut off Dougie Fresh right in the middle of his set and the mics were so bad that you couldn't understand if the 94.5 Dj's were telling the audience if the show was over due to the rain or it was a delayed. So we decided to stick it out and the wait time ended up being an hour n a half before Dougie Fresh came back out. Overall I can't say I had the best experience or time due to the heat n the wait but again the performers were off the hook and I guess worth the trouble in the end. Thanks 94.5 for bringing them to Dallas.

I thought the show was great. The only drawback to me was including Bone. While I am a Bone fan I don't think of them as the same level of old school as the rest of the artist. I think the mood of the show changed during their performance. I could think of a lot of other artists who should have been in there place. I was very glad they started on time.

Big Daddy Kane, Doug E Fresh, and LL Cool J were off the chain!!! They truly represented hip hop to the fullest. I am a fan of Bone Thugs n Harmony, but felt they have fallen off a bit. However, Bizzy Bone still got it!! I would certainly recommend this concert. It is well worth the money!!

This concert was phenomenal!! Each artist showed off their unique talent. I am 55 years and jumped, screamed, and danced all night. My kids (20, 17, and 15) were up dancing and screaming also. I was "high" on the music, artistry, execution, and expertise of each artist. I never smoke or drink. With talent like this in the world; one does not need to do it. Just ride the waves of the music.

Ll is the best show men around, was hurt and still destroyed, very interactive with the crowd. In his 40s and would destroy any newer rappers around. Big Daddy Kane and whodini were so energetic and fun. Crowd was older so there was no nonsense fighting and hammered drunk people, highly recommended.

Got to the show at 7:00... DeLaSoul was taking the stage, decent crowd, but they performed like it was a packed house. Great energy. Good Show. Public Enemy.. Honor to see the Legend Chuck D.. they brought the power and definately showed they can still throw down. Flavor played guitar and drums. Only minus.. they didnt perform Public Enemy #1.. Ice Cube.. what can I say, killllled it. Should of been the headliner. He took us back to NWA and all the way to Friday. Well done sir.. WC was there as well. LL Cool J. - Did all his hits, brought fans on stage, delivered big time. Would of liked "Hey Lover" but TJS is a legend. BEST PART of show.. I go to get a t-shirt and you can buy ICE CUBE meet & greet for $100 - SOLD. Met Cube.. he is the man. took pics.. got auto.. walking out, Chuck D comes around the corner.. took my phone and takes pics.... Great Night!

Classic after Classic - LL, Cube and De La Soul were on fire ... their energy will transport you back to 1990... but the Hall of Fame award goes to Public Enemy. PE ALWAYS brings the noise - a backing band, DJ Lord (incredible), Flavor Flav and the genius of Chuck D - Public Enemy is a miracle to witness. Only down side - WAY too short sets. Public Enemy can pull off 3 hour shows and given only 30 minutes is a travesty.

When I saw LL Cool J perform Whaddup at the end of The Grammys I was excited for the possibility of a tour. LL s last album was released in 2008 and Whaddup was a new song. I immediately started to follow him on Twitter to see if an album and tour were forthcoming. When the Kings of the Mic tour was announced with the incredible lineup of LL Cool J, Ice Cube, Public Enemy and De La Soul I was beyond thrilled. LL Cool J LL Cool J came out in a sweatshirt that came off and was thrown into the crowd during the first song. Sadly it did not reveal his bare chest but rather a t-shirt promoting his album. This shirt was soaking wet by the end of the show and although it did have a rip in the neck, he never took it off. He looked like he had a great time on stage and performed classics like Mama Said Knock You Out , I m Bad , Doin It , I Need Love and Rock the Bells . Those lips were licked several times throughout the show. I managed to get a blurry shot of this, but most importantly I was able to see it live and in person. There was an issue with his mic from time to time there would be a large high-pitched squeak. It wasn t so often that it ruined the show, but it was a horrible sound when it did occur. Not sure why that couldn t be fixed by the sound crew. Sweat was dripping off his arms as he performed. A towel would be tossed his way for him to wipe the sweat off his face. A few lucky women got a towel thrown out to them. I saw one of the women hold the towel up to her face and smell it. Some other women were fortunate enough to be brought on stage to dance with LL. One was an older woman, I m assuming she was a grandmother, that had moves that were unexpectedly sexual. The look on LL s face when she did her moves was priceless. Surprisingly there was no encore. He went off stage without singing Going Back To Cali . Some people started to leave, but I learned a long time ago that you don t leave a show until the house lights come on. When the lights came on I was at a loss. I haven t been to a show that didn t have an encore (without being told in advance) ever. Regardless, it was a great set and a fantastic show. Ice Cube Videos and images from Ice Cube s days in N.W.A were projected on the video screen behind him. I won t go into how young they looked back then or how old it made me feel. There were two inflated hands with the \u2018Westside hand symbol on either side of the DJ. Ice Cube knows how to work a stage walking from side to side getting the crowd going by teasing the \u2018old school stuff. He performed Straight Outta Compton , Check Yo Self , It Was A Good Day and You Can Do It (Put Your Back Into It) . Several women, including some that you would not have expected, put their back into it during that song. This portion of the show continued the excitement of what we had already seen and got us excited for the headliner. Public Enemy Public Enemy had a solid performance. Flavor Flav came out without his signature clock and commented about how he used to wear a white clock around his neck. He had sworn he would never take it off until Public Enemy was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. Well, they were inducted this year and even though he did not have his white clock, he did reveal a black clock. I wonder what will make him stop wearing this one. Flavor Flav ran around the 100s section of the amphitheater high fiving fans as he passed. One woman followed him up on stage and had to be told to get off by security. They performed their bigger hits 911 Is a Joke with Flav doing his signature dance, Bring the Noise , Don t Believe the Hype and Fight the Power . The crowd was pumped! De La Soul De La Soul sounded great but their set seemed a bit disorganized. The show was supposed to start at 7pm but they were still setting up at 10 minutes past. It appears they were having some difficulties with their equipment. They got the audience to get up on their feet and bounce their hands up and down to the beats. The photographers were told to participate too, which they did for a short period before going back to taking photos. Public Enemy s Chuck D and Phife Dawg from A Tribe Called Quest performed a few songs with them. The equipment issues meant they weren t able to do their full set. They were told their set was over as they were about to start another song. Even with the few technical difficulties, this show did not disappoint. Each performance was better than the last. Only pet peeve was everyone saying either San Fran or Frisco . It s San Francisco ! If you must abbreviate then say SF . Anything else just shows you are not local or in the know.

I was so stoked to see the Kings of the Mic tour, DelaSoul was completely awesome and Public Enemy did not disappoint. But when Ice Cube hit the stage, there wasn't one person that didn't bounce to his hits, the crowd was jumping! ll Cool J was okay, it's hard to follow Ice Cube as an act , I personally thought that Ice Cube should have closed the show. The Boom 92 Kings of the Mic Tour comprises many of the artists that define the genre we call Old School Hip-Hop. We were a group of five including my kids that were not even born when this music came out. We all had a blast! Whodini and LL were particularly good, but each group had one song after another that were big hits back in the day. I highly recommend this trip down memory lane. My only complaint was the sound quality. It is normally much better at Cynthia Woods.

Overall awesome, enjoyed throughly. Could've done without PE and Jazzy Jeff. LL, had a great idea, but the audience prefers his beats not others. The setups between acts was lenghty. Also, 8 hrs is a little long. Stick to groups that audiences know the words of, that is why Whodini was #1!!! Need some Westcoast rap.

This concert simply put was AWESOME!!! The line-up was amazing and the venue for was great! There wasn't a dull moment during the entire show. The intermissions between performers was just as great. Listening to the dj's spin track after track of old school hip-hop had the crowd up on their feet singing and dancing away. I would definitely recommend going to see this show if given the opportunity! Maybe the next time they'll get together the ladies for a showcase (MC Lyte, Salt-N-Peppa, Queen Latifah, & JJ Fad)....#ijs

The entire event was A LOT of fun. Everyone was amazing from Whodini to Doug E Fresh. I wish Doug E Fresh's performance would've been longer but still I loved it all. DJ Jazzy Jeff was awesome and he looks great. Scarface had me out of my seat the entire time. While LL Cool J performed I never sat down, his set was legit as well. I enjoyed DJ Z-Trip also.

Loved the Show!! Brought back so many memories. The turn out was better than expected. I hope they continue to have the show yearly. My only complaint is "What happened with Dougie Fresh?? Was his only job to show up and do beats for ONE of Whodini's song? To me he came out to help Whodini get the crowd hype. Whodini didn't need any help. The beats were great but he could have given the crowd more. " The Show" & "Ain't no Half Steppin" ,Our generation loves Dougie Fresh and pardon the pun but he was "half steppin".

Overall the concert was a blast. Cynthia Woods is a good place to have concerts, just make sure you get the seats and not the lawn. Furious five was great, along with sugar hill gang. Jazzy Jeff was strange. His role is the get the crowd and amped and it was pretty lackluster. The MC was trying to get the crowd hyped, but it just wasn't happening. His mixes I thought were pretty lame. Whodini came out and basically brought the house down. That's what this concert was all about. Public Enemy did the same thing. To see DOC Ice from UTFO made this a true house party Those two groups made the show. AS for LL Kool J, he could have stayed home. All he did was sing snippets of older songs and sung a bunch of new songs no one knew or could sing along with at the concert. Main reason why everyone started living in the middle of his set. Normally I stick around for an encore, but that clown wasn't worth the opening set. He has definitely moved on and no longer worth seeing. And also this is now the second time Doug E fresh has been on the headline and either no shown up or just does a cameo part. Won't fall for that trick again.

The concert was great! Scareface was the best! Whoudini was awesome! Can't forget Favor Fav Public Enemy great! Couple of problems the microphones was awful you could barely understand the words too much BASS the music was drowning them out. The microphones was to low. LLCJ was disappointing took to long to get into the hits but his setup with the fire was awesome! I was very disappointed no souvenir T-Shirts to remember the awesome event!!!!

So many legends on one stage, I hardly stayed in my seat. Each performer gave me more than what I expected. DJ Jazzy Jeff was sooo on point. The main attraction LL Cool J did NOT disappoint. I loved everyone and I'll definitely be back.

Whodini stole the show, PE was horrible and you couldn't understand any lyrics and I know them all. LL except for the compilation section was awesome!!! Can't understand why scarface was allowed on stage, guess cause he's local, bad! Grand master and sugar hill, solid!

I was so excited to see all of my old school favorites, but I was extremely disappointed in the sound quality. Unless you knew all the words to big daddy Kane's songs, you had no idea what he was saying and it was like that for most of the show. My other issue was that the times each performer was scheduled to perform should have been published. I had no idea until I got there that it was going to be a 7 hour event. I went because I really wanted to see LL cool J but I had to leave before his performance because I did not know ahead of time...

I really enjoyed traveling down memory lane!!!! The artists were awesome. Literally...as good as I remembered them. Energy, great rappers....what more can I say? Can I see them again next weekend???? The only reason I gave it 4 stars is that the setup time between artists was too slow. It lengthened the night and I believe cut out Doug E Fresh....not cool.

It was great to finally see some old school rappers I grew up with. The overall showwas boring. The sound was off and you couldnt understand any of the lyrics. There was no backdrop or performance. Just the rappers up there talking and rapping. They seemed out of breath. Thenyou couldnt hear any lyrics because the music sound was to loud. Thwn the dj's would play and scratch but you could hear the scratching because the back music was to loud. The area I was at people were complaining of the sound. Seating.... Normally there is security keeping people from standing in areas where people are walking and trying to get to their seats. This is the area between the grass and the seats. There were so many people standing and leaning against the rail we had a hard time to get to our seats. No tshirts.. only a few groups had any shirts. Beer... getting expensive. Performers... took forever to set up. It took Public Enemy over 35 minutes to set up. They killed havlf thier time. That then cut into LL Cool J performance. I say next time get performers. That put on a show like LL.

The concert was phenomenal. I really enjoyed seeing all of the artists, especially LL Cool J. He was always one of my favorites. They all put on a great show. The only thing that would have made it better for me was for it not to be June in Houston, TX. It was miserably hot and humid, but the show was fantastic!
