There are not enough superlatives to describe how my wife and I felt after seeing this show. As professional musicians ourselves, even we were in awe at the level of performance of the cast of "Lord of the Dance". I would recommend this show to anyone and everyone, and I look forward to seeing Michael Flatley again as soon as possible! Jeffrey Johns Hermitage, PA USA

The dancing is incredible, but we found the story a little hard to follow. Might be a bit loud and/or scary for younger children. The singing interspersed throughout the show really slowed things down, although I know it was done to give the dancers a much-needed break. As far as the venue, great acoustics and good views, but Mohegan Sun should rethink the seating. I realize "temporary" seating is needed so they can fold up the bleachers when they hold events like the upcoming rodeo, but talk about uncomfortable. Plastic chairs with a thin cushion and bleachers that shudder every time someone walks up or down the steps.

Slow to start. Did not like the fact they could not keep up with the beat of prior dancers footsteps. They were out of step.

Great dancing, great music, great show. Only dissappointment was that Michael Flatley did not dance in the show. It would have been nice to see at least a small segment with him in it.

I have always wanted to see Lord of the Dance but never thought it would come to Fort Wayne. I went with my Mom and sister and we had a great time watching the dancers! The part when the men were dancing and you could hear their shoes on the floor..powerful!! The leads for the men and women were unbelieveable! All the dancers were in time with the others. The ladies were graceful and always smiling! The last part where everyone was on the stage dancing was so exciting! The only regret was that my sister kept asking me if Michael Flatley was going to come out and he did not. She said she didn't care if they wheeled him out in a wheelchair she just wanted to see him since it was his show. All in all, it was a great show and we hope that they come to Fort Wayne again. Thanks for show..I give it 5 stars :)

The program was wonderful, but would have been better if we had been provided a program with some background on the story line. The only program provided was from the venue advertising coming events. This is the first theatre event I have attended that didn't even provide bio information on the performers.

I suppose much of my disappointment could be laid to the breathers and costume changes brought about by lip syncing and air fiddle playing. The canned foot tapping, although probably a requirement by the stage's physical deficiencies, distracted noticably. Although the dancers seemed to float and glide across the stage, and their athletic abilities are without question, the combining of the sounds to the appropriate dance movements was less than sterling. The stage backdrop was sparse but appropriate and sufficient and not a distraction from the dance or the story behind the dance. Additionally though, a twenty minute intermission within an hour and forty-five minute show was excessive and used primarily as a vehicle to hawk CDs and tee-shirts. Bad form.

Totally Awwsome!!! I would definetly go again. The only problems I had was it was too short (Not long enough) and didn't know if I could take photos. Was able to catch a few photos during the 2nd half. But it was totally amazing watching this LIVE!!!!! And being right down front was even more special. I was just awstruck watching the foot work.

Saw it about 4 yrs ago too. Nothing has changed. The dancing was outstanding and the costumes were the same. I was hoping there had been some updates or a new storyline but no such luck. If you have never seen Lord of The Dance it's a show you will always remember. It's as good the second time as it was the first but a new production would be nice too for us dyed -in-the-wool fans.

I only went because my husband has always wanted to see this show. Boy, was I surprised. This show held my interest from start to finish. There was a perfect blend of rousing music and dance and soulful, haunting vocals. The subplot of the show was very clever and well done, involving the audience in the entire experience!

I came to enjoy Celtic dancing. The production was at least 40% sexually suggestive, which was unnecessary to the story and something I did not expect. At one point, the dancers tore off their dresses to finish the dance in their underwear. I am not sure what the purpose or meaning of it was, but it tainted the rest of the performance.

I have always wanted to see Lord of the Dance, and was excited to take my two teenage daughters. They have danced since they were little, but were unfamiliar with Irish dance. AS they said, they thought it was just going to be girls with curly hair all night. Boy were they surprised. My one daughter said 'I had no idea it would be this intense'. Needless to say they loved it- except for the singer that came out and sang a few songs which they felt was boring and stalled the momentum of the show. I normally like Irish songs as well, but was not too impressed by this particular performer. Overall we had a great time and enjoyed the show!

This is the fourth time we have seen LOTD....all three other times were in Las Vegas and 10 years ago. (We even own the DVD with Michael Flatley!)...this productions was a disappointment as the cast was no where near as good...many looked malnurished and only skin and bones and the lead dancer was not convincing as the macho lead. The overall dancing was very good but the current production seems to be more into burlesque and how little clothes they can get away with wearing. (Women that is, the guys were always fully clothed...my wife wanted to know why...seemed kinda sexist to her).....the costuming was not as good as the early Vegas productions. I question whether the violinist were actually playing or just going through the motions. The single singer was WAY to operatic (I am a huge fan of opera, just not in a LOTD production. ) The bad guy outfits were more befitting a ninja turtle show and really detracted from the dancing.....which I guess sums it up.....a LOTD production should be about the dancing and this group performed well (however during the THREE encores there were clearly several cast members (performers) not happy to still be on stage and appeared to genuinely be in pain....Hmmmm. The show I am affraid has gone the way of so much entertainment these days....toward the sleeze factor rather than staying classy.....I will cherish the performances of 10 years ago and choose to remember those over this performance. A final note, performances in the past seemed to flow seemlessly an told a coherent story....the story really did not start until the second act, which seemed strange compared again to 10 years ago. In fairness to the cast and crew the venue for this type of production was awful...the venue I swear is 100 years old and sound for ANY performance is the pits....how much nicer it would have been to see/hear the show at the new Kaufman Center. Kansas City continues to book shows at the Music Hall which is a shame, they should tear the thing down or do extensive remodeling as it is not fair to the performers to have their work not come across the best way possible and clearly a rip-off to customers who have to continuely put up with lousy sound in an ancient facility.

I think this was cast B - or lower - the soloist wasn't always on pitch or timing, and the dancers (especially the lead male) weren't as sharp as I would have expected. I suspect Michael Flatley would have done better even with his blown-out knees. The female leads were a bit better, but still hesitant. The ensembles were the best - they were in unison at least. Costumes were great, but after the female ensemble dancers broke away their Celtic dresses and were left with what amounted to bikinis, I wondered why - none of the men took their shirts off - it felt a bit gratuitous and rather unneccessary to the overall production. The fiddlers were the most consistant, but not electrifying performances ... from anyone. It felt like they were all just going through the motions, but perhaps this was the end of their tour and they were tired and ready to go home.

I have seen Riverdance and Lord of the Dance before, so this was not my first time. I was very disappointed in the dance ability of the lead female role. Kicks were low and bent kneed much of the time. Knees were apart when they should be together. One of the other female dancers, when wearing the silver straight dress with sequins, red, on the bottom, kept pulling her dress down. It was mildly tight on her hips and being short, kept riding up slightly so she pulled it down during the entire dance piece. Being in the front row, it was obvious and very unprofessional. Other things like this were noted that really took away from the professional showmanship that I have come to expect from this group whether in person or seen on TV. So, it was a bit disappointing and I can see why it was not sold out.

It started off exciting and then in slowed down quickly. I thought the singer was average. The skit that underlined their performance was juvenile. Even the scene where the dancers stripped to their underwear seemed to be a cheap attempt to add excitement to the show. Most of the chatter around me was curiosity as to its purpose. The dancing was good as expected but I walked away not satisfied.

Overall it was very good. There were some parts that were different, which you expect over time, for example, the "good vs. evil" parts. That took a little bit away from the traditional "Lord of the Dance" theme. The music did not change and that would have been very disappointing if that happened. A lot of the dances by the women were soft shoe,, not tap and that was a little disappointing. The most bizarre and most disapointing part was when the women ripped off their costumes and danced in their underwear. What was the reaoning for that? It was obvious that there was more of a sexual theme than the original. Besides ripping off the womens costumes, there were skin tight dance leotards.

The theme seemed to be a war between an Iowa soda jerk (Lord? of the Dance) and a herd of Mutant Ninja Turtles. (Who came up with these costumes?) This struggle was fluffed out by seemingly unrelated dance numbers and songs. In the first act we were treated to a female ensemble presentation that could have been done as a 9th grade dance recital. The female vocalist was reedy and the songs apropos of nothing else that was going home. A MAJOR disappointment.

I saw this when Flatley was the main performer and had to see this again. I was not disappointed. The story, the theatrics, the instruments, it was all great with one exception. At the end of the first act, the girls were dancing a number, and all of a sudden, ripped off their dresses to reveal black bikini type outfits. I did not see how this fit with the story, and with little kids there, I'm not sure that was a great message. I couldn't remember if that was done the first time I saw them, so during intermission, I emailed the person that went with me before. Regardless of that one part, everything else was great, exactly what I had remembered.

I've seen Riverdance twice and I was constantly comparing the Lord of the Dance performance to Riverdance. The two really can't be compared. I enjoy this type of dance, the precision choreography and movement. The singer was awesome, as well. Although the performers in LotD were outstanding and the female dancers, in particular, were pleasing to the eye, I was just never "wowed" by any dance movement or moment. Perhaps it is unfair to compare the two types of performances but, in my estimation, Lord of the Dance could take some tips from Riverdance.

We had seen Lord of the Dance 15 years ago and were looking forward to seeing it again. I wish we had just kept the memory. While some of the dancing was good, the majority of it seemed no better than a cheesy Vegas show. There were only about 20 dancers (vs. the at least 50 from the last time we saw it) and that made a huge difference in the whole spectacle of the show. The dancer who played the Lord of the Dance was totally miscast - he looked like a 10-year-old boy and lacked the charisma for the roll. The drama was gone. The costumes seemed ridiculous with such a small cast. Finally, the singer who transitioned the costume changes was overly dramatic and lost a few notes. Really disappointed to have gone. We were more than happy to leave as soon as it was over.

It was a lot of fun, and the dancing is phenomenal. It would have been even better in a larger venue. I saw it at the Fox Theatre in Detroit, so the spectacle of the sound and lights was a bit lost. But still a great show. Note to parents: there are a couple of scenes where the girls strip and dance in underwear costumes and light silhouettes of exotic dancing.

If you were expecting something equal to Riverdance, it was flat. All of the music was recorded, so it seems, and not always in sync with the players. And when did Irish dancing resort to a striptease with black bras and underwear with hip grinding? Trashy. The costumes of the evil ones look like something copied from an early Star Trek TV show with black bicycle helmets. One female dancer in red had a black hand pasted on around the boobs and another on the hip. And then there was the "dance of the fairys" in short nightgowns. Who came up with this stuff? The dancers themselves were excellent, the ladies beautiful and good looing guys. But the story line associated with the routines, the costumes all need updating. And drop the strip tease act.

The Dancing, visuals, sound, and story were awesome, as were the two pretty Fiddlers in creating a wonderful experience. The sprite did a great job of stitching the scenes together for continuity and filling out the story. The only problem was the "singer" She was flat in many places during her numbers, and strayed out of time with the accompanying sound track. She sang unsupported, with much too much vibratto, ruining the beauty of the music. As someone who has sung on stage for years, I know a thing or two about it> She's just BAD!

The discipline and hours of training are so apparent. Every step is perfection. I used to dance in my youth, could not ever aspire to the level of excellence at which this company performs. The costuming, the music, the choreography are so superior to anything I have seen elsewhere. The only negative, if there was one, was the number when the girls came out and danced in their black underwear. It cheapened an otherwise really classy performance. I would go see another production whenever they came to town in a heartbeat.

The production was a cut just above a high school performance. My husband and I went to see the dancing and a forth of the show was cheesy drama and shiny costumes. Three of the "acts" were a singer who struggled to stay on tune and just stood there and sang - nothing exciting about it. The large group dancing numbers were cool - but there were only a few of them. The story line was not entertaining, just distracting and hokey. Some of the lights used as scenery were also distracting. If you have a chance to go for free, I would say it is worth the time - but it certainly wasn't worth the price we paid to go.

Amazing show!!! The show was about 2 hours long, and I was on the edge of my seat the entire time! Incredible what these performers can do! Bravo, Lord of the Dance!

First of all, the show started late. Then, it took a 20 minute break. The group dances were enjoyable, but the good vs evil got old real quick. The singer did have a beautigul voice. Graphics were lacking a bit. Overall, it was a fair show for the price...but far from "Riverdance!"

The dancing was great, the dancers were well prepared and very talented. Loved the music and the singer did a nice job. Good variety of talent and entertainment. Didn't need the recorded clicking of the shoes against each other and the floor though.

Loved the show. Could have done without a couple of the more suggestive parts but overall a great show.

This is the third time watching his shows and each time is as good if not better than the last one. Took my 14 year old cousin who has won numerous national titles in tap dance and she was totally enraptured with the show. She has been dancing since she was four years old. Loved it completely. Great job by the entire troupe.

I took my husband to see Lord of the Dance for his birthday. We had an entertaining, enjoyable evening. I was in awe of the dancers, and the costumes. By far this was worth the money to see and would recommend it to others. I can't wait to see it again.

This was an amazing show!! I have seen it once before many years ago and it was just as incredible the second time around. I brought my 2 children, ages 11 and 8, and they both LOVED the show! My older daughter is now motivated to try and learn how to dance like that. It held their interest the entire time and they left talking about all the parts they loved for the entire ride home (and into the next day).

This was the second time that we saw the show. I loved it so much that we wanted to go again. However, this time the overall quality of the show seemed to have been cheapened by the lights, imagery and they added a part where the girls rip off their dance costumes to reveal black bikinis! I thought that this didn't have any room in the performance and was inappropriate. There was a 5 year old little girl sitting next to me, is she supposed to come away with the thoughts that this is acceptable and that she needs to rip off her clothes to have a good performance. It was unnecessary, and I think it made it cheap. Not to mention the seductive dancing of one of the lead dancers.

Always a great show we have seen it a couple times now. Great costumes and new effects. The fox is a great venue and has a great view even from the seats in the rear portion of the theater.

Very enjoyabe preformance!! I took my wife and another couple and all were throughly amazed. Precission dance at its finest. Makes one feel guilty for tripping over ones own feet after watching their incredible dance routine. Their dancing (foot work) was so fast and precise one is mesmerized! Good vs Evil to a whole new version. The performers actualy looked not just professional but were having a good time. They actually were having fun performing and their enjoyment was evident throughout the performance! If you are looking for a reason to feel good or just an uplifting occasion this is for you!!

I've been wanting to see this show forever. I remember seeing it n TV. Michael Flatley was the dancer. I kept telling myself I am going to see this show. One thing lead to another and I never got there. At the age of 52 I saw the show was coming to Mohegan Sun. I immediatly went on line and bought tickets. I sat thru the show tapping my feet and clapping my hands along to the performance. The music was awsome and the dancing amazing. I'm looking forward to seeing it again. Hopefully a little closer to stage.

These performers are incredible, the amount of practice, dedication and professionalism is unmatched. I would pay to see this "event" a hundred times and never grow tired of it. Some of the routines were five minutes in length! To think that a group of dancers could remember so many routines to put on a 90 minute extravaganza...is awe inspiring....please come back soon......i will be there!
