Mason Jennings

Loved the entire night, from the opening act (Sarah Harmer has a great voice), the set list (including acoustic version of butterfly), and playing with his little brother and dad. The duet that he and his brother performed as a sort of ode to their father was beautiful. Highlight of the night was definitely a John Prine cover during his encore, where he performed "Christmas in Prison". Overall, great show.

Mason Jennings was AMAZING. His music was absolutely wonderful to listen to. His opening act Sarah Harmer was a great addition!

Mason Jennings is just a talented artist. Every song gets to you because of his passion! He is just the greatest!!

I listened to this music before I went to enjoy the concert, but now I really listen to it! I love how you can play so many varieties and rock each one! I couldn't get your songs out of my head all the way home! I liked Mason before but now I love you!!!!!! Thanks for rocking my night!!

great show like always at a Mason Jennings show. I would have liked to have sight line seating at First Avenue for this show.

This concert was awesome! My husband and I are huge Mason fans and have loved him since he first started! We have seen him about a dozen times and looooove him everytime! Amazing live, even better than his albums! We love you Mason!

To start, the openers, Nathaniel Rateliff & The Wheel was really cool and they rocked the house. I had never heard of them before but now I am a fan. Then Mason and his band was amazing. It was one of my favorite concerts of all time. When the show was over, the band came back out for an encore...twice!

Mason Jennings never fails to impress. With his new album he wails on his guitar and recites killer lyrics. I was a little disappointed that he didn't play the piano on this show but the band was flawless in its performance. The First Ave scene is getting old (or maybe I am). The crowd was friendly but packed so tightly it was hard to move or get a beer. It was also hard to see the stage unless we would have arrived very early and stayed in one spot the whole night. I actually enjoy seeing Mason Jennings at an auditorium like the Orpheum or State Theater these days.

From the opening song, to the many tracks from Blood of Man to the encore of a Band cover, Jennings was hitting on all cylinders.

Mason sounded perfect! A completely spot-on sharp and truely musical performance.

I love Mason Jennings, but had never been to a concert at First Avenue before and was not prepared to stand for 4 hours. I have a bad knee and it made the evening less than enjoyable. I really enjoyed Mason's opening band. Mason himself was great as always, but was disappointed that he didn't perform a couple of his first songs that he is known for. Overall a good time with my sister, but obviously too old for the standing all night thing.

We drove over Vail Pass in a storm to see Mason Jennings and it proved to be worth it tenfold. The theater was small but comfortable and the show was amazing. The opening act was really great especially for my first time hearing them and Mason put on an excellent show! 15/10

mason jennings captivated the crowd. he had everyone grooving to his folky beats and his sweet harmonizing lyrics gave the bluebird its wings.

Mason put on one of the best shows I have seen. He did two encores and was amazing. Don't miss the chance to see him live especially at a small venue like the Bluebird. Great show.

Overall a good show. Since we have a 2 year old and pay a babysitter by the hour, I was a little disappointed the opening show didn't come on until 9:00 and Mason didn't start playing until after 10:00pm, but that's just me being tired on a Friday night and not wanting to stand around waiting. Nonetheless, Mason and the other musicians played well. He definitely played his darker stuff, and whipped out the electric guitar more than I've seen him play before, which was fun to see and hear.

Third time seeing Mason, and although his other shows were also great he definitely outdid himself with this show and with the new album. Easily one of the best shows I've been to. Local Denver band, Nathaniel Rateliff and The Wheel were also superb.

Played most of his new album but played enough of his familiar stuff to keep us engaged. Good set list. The House of Blues is a really cool venue.

The venue was a 4. OK, but we were rushed out preet quickly to get ready for the next concert, kinda weird. But Mason was great, a real treat to watch.

Mason jennings show was awesome as usual. It is amazing how he sounds just as good as he does on his cd if not better. he is a really nice guy and really puts on an amazing show! His lyrics are truly inspriational and really make you think!

Mason sounded great with a full band behind him. He ripped through all the songs on his new album which sounded even better live. He played songs from every album. This was the sixth time I had seen him and was definitely my favorite show.

Awesome show, this is my second time seeing mason at house of blues and both were extraordinary. His opening acts are also very good.

This concert was the single-most, greatest concert experience of my life! I am a huge Mason Jennings fan, and I never thought I'd see him around here. This was my first time at the Pageant... and it is so awesome! There's a fully stocked bar right behind you, and a server comes around often. EVERYONE (even the bouncers) was friendly. The bartenders were very professional and courteous (that surprised me).. The stage and the lighting was kick-ass! If you haven't seen a show at the Pageant... do yourself a favor and check it out, I can't imagine anyone not being satisfied.

Mason sounds even more incredible live. His feeling and emotion get lost in recording.

Mason Jennings was amazing as always! I have been to 5 other of his concerts all back home in Minnesota and it is a different experience there because Mason seems a lot more into it when surrounded by the hometown. It was great to see tons of supporters here in Missouri though! I hope everyone had fun. I know I did.

This was the third time we saw him. He is an excellent performer. The venue was pretty cool too. No seat was a bad seat. Wish he would've sang more....like all of his songs!

Mason Jennings was great live! He came out for like 3 encores and the Magic Bag was a sweet venue. All and all, an awesome concert!

Phenomenal show! I've been listening to Mason Jennings' music for years but his live performance exceeded all expectations.

Wasn't familiar with Mason before the show, but had friends going and decided to tag along. He puts on a great live show, tells really memorable stories through his songs and fills the space with just himself and his guitar/piano. Treat yourself and grab a ticket.

I love Mason Jennings and have seen him at least 5 other times in the last 8 years. He is a very talented musician and always plays a very upbeat, interactive show with a very tight band. However, unbeknownst to me & my friends, this show was accoustic only and did not include any other musicians. He put on a good show, but left most of us wanting more.

The show was under-priced. I bought t-shirts and CDs to pay what the show should have cost. Both Mason Jennings and Haroula Rose were amazing. I can't wait for them to come back!

I took my mother to this concert for hr birrthday present.. Really it was a gift to myself as well. Mason sounds great live. I would recommend this venue to anyone.

Awesome show! Great mix of old and new material. Mason took the time to meet the fans and provided some insights into his songs throughout the show. Great intimate little venue swell.

Mason was fantastic, as always. This was the 8th time I saw him and I was not disappointed. Although the show was advertised as a "solo" show, Mason had Jacob the guitarist help him out on the majority of songs. Jacob was very talented and really added to the songs. I only wish the concert would have lasted longer!

First time going to a show in MN, Mason jennings was on point. It was the second show and he didn't play any songs I personally knew, but my gf and I had a great time. He even brought his family up to play a few songs with him later that was also awesome. Very down to earth guy, seems very fun, positive, great music. Messed up once or twice but didn't matter. Would recommend seeing him to anyone who likes laid back chill music.

Absolutely fabulous show! Mason Jennings was/is awesome. I loved that his family was there as well! The new album, The Flood, rocks!! I can not wait for Mason to return to First Ave. I will be there for sure!

I flew into Minneapolis to check out the town and to see Mr Jennings put on a 2 night run at the legendary First Ave. Both shows had the same format but differed with some songs being played. He came out and asked for requests, which the crowd had no problem yelling out almost to a deafening level. After doing the solo acoustic thing for a few songs he invited two of his friend on stage. One played bass the other was on the electric guitar, Mason stayed with an acoustic electric for the night except when he jumped on a piano for a few songs. Towards the end of the show his friends left the stage and he invited one of his brothers up to play a few songs with him. After playing a few songs from early in their collaboration, Mr Jennings (as in Masons' dad) came out to play with them. Mason brought back his buddies to plat bass and guitar to finish out the show. For the encore(s) depending which night you went to see him since he did one encore the first night but played more songs or the second night which was a tighter sounding set but not as long so he did 2 encores. Both encores where roughly the same but when he brought out Sarah Harmer to cover a John Prime Christmas song, man oh man that rendition tugged at my heart. The crowds were almost completely different from the 2 shows. The first night was way more talkative and almost hard to hear during the more quiet songs, while the second night you could hear a pin drop, but mind you they were both into the show and hearing everyone sing his songs with Mason just put the biggest smile on my face plus I also sang along. The big difference between the two nights were a piano version of Blood of the Man, more song requests, some sound issues with the mic on the piano and sound levels but didn't really effect the feel of the songs, and a meet and greet after the first night. Second night he covered a Lady Gaga song on piano, like I said earlier the set was tighter and no sound problems, and played a second encore with his brother and his band mates (the song was about riding your bike while your drunk at night) which was cracking everyone up in the audience. He was also more talkative the second night but not by much. In all it was a memorable good time and am so glad I got to see him in his hometown. First Ave is a cool place to see a show and to see Mason play there (who was having fun and on point) along with some of his family, Sarah Harmer and his band mates was a killer ***king show. It was a moving, sing out blast of live music fun. Thank you Mason and will never forget it.

Mason is so good in concert. I had only heard his album work, but every song is completely transformed live. He puts so much life into the music, can't recommend it enough.

He provides such a great atmosphere and is such a real guy. His music is fantastic live and his light hearted loving attitude leaves me wanting more!

This show put me in the holiday spirit. Even though no christmas songs where performed, the stage was decorated very festive.

This show was absolutely phenomenal. I've seen quite of few of Mason's performances, and this one topped the chart. From taking requests from the crowd, to his (more than usual) banter between songs, he showed his love of the MN fans. Having his brother and dad there to join for a few songs was such a great addition.

The concert was fantastic! A really laid back atmosphere and a perfect venue as always at First Ave. Mason brought some talented people with him including his dad and brother for a few songs. The performance was great. It's always fun to have an artist get on the stage and say, "So, what should I play?" Great feeling of trust between the audience and Mason. We showed up to the concert a bit early so we got pretty good spots near the front and things were going well and everyone around us were super nice and relaxed until 3 obnoxiously drunk girls came elbowing their way up to the front. They were mashing into people trying to sway and dance to really mellow music. I couldn't understand it. Some of the most rude people I have ever encountered. They didn't care about anyone around them and it really put a damper on the evening. Everyone around them was completely annoyed and some were on the verge of fighting them. I wish people could be more courteous.

Was one of the best Mason Jennings concerts I've been too. Real treat to see him perform with Matt and his father. Would highly recommend seeing him if you get a chance.

The show was great! They are all very talented. We had a blast and can't wait for Mason to come back to Saint Louis!!!

Mason Jennings came back to the PVCH under popular demand. He was great! He says he loves this place! He is a great singer-songwriter with very catchy tunes. The only drawback I would say is that the duration of the concert was on the shorter side this time. Other than that, the venue is great all around and the music is great!

Another great show by Mason Jennings. He plays a wide range of his best songs from all of his albums and also asks for requests at the end in case he missed one the crowd wants to hear. It's also very cool that he takes time to meet fans and talk for a bit after the show. If you're a fan of stripped down acoustic guitar than this is one of the best shows you can see out there

This was my first time to Vetter Stone Amphitheater and I couldn't have been more satisfied! What a perfect night to sit outside and enjoy cheap beers and great music from the seat of my own camping chair!!!

The show started with The Pines, which we didn't know were playing. They are a great band, new to us. The sound was good - kind of like the a more indie-folk version of the Wallflowers. Loved them. Funny too. Jeremy Messersmith was good. He, I though, needed to be turned up louder, or the rest of the band should have been turned down, because you couldn't hear most of the words. Overall, really good. Mason Jennings was amazing. He did ignore the crowds constant request for "I Love You and Buddah too." But he played good tunes and was easy to hear.

Great music. Good views from nearly everywhere. Time between artists was just right. Not too long, not too short.

Perfect night for a show. The show made us feel that Fall has officially arrived!

Went to see Iris Dement, she was fantastic. Hadn't heard Mason Jennings before, it was fine, but I don't think I would go to see just him. We also had a lot of groupies singing around us, so was hard to enjoy. Went to see the performer sing, not the random kids/moms!

Mason Jennings was outstanding, but I am not a fan of Iris Dement's singing so her part of the show somewhat detracted from my enjoyment of the evening. I particularly enjoyed his solo songs but his backup group was solid and unobtrusive.. He played a nice mix of numbers ranging from old to new. I have always enjoyed his rather unique guitar style and it was fun to listen to him that night without a lot of band input.

As always, Mason Jennings put on an amazing performance. His collaboration with Iris Dement was spectacular.

Mason Jennings is a below average singer and guitarist. He can't play piano at all. His show was the worst I've been to in years.

Seen Mason about nine times, always a great live performance. I was a bit surprised at the shortness of the set, however it was a good show.

A master story teller, Mason Jennings was true to his sound that we all know and love. He was incredibly funny as he told a few jokes and stories between songs- great stuff!! Very memorable performance and hope he comes back to Florida soon!!

I have never seen Brighton Music Hall that packed. People were excited to see the show, knew all the words, and loved the music. I just wish Mason Jennings was as excited about his music as his fans. He had no stage presence and didn't seem at all excited that the place was packed for him. I have never been to a show like that before. Regardless of whether I like the music or not, there are always a few moments where I connect with the music or really engage with the artist. I felt nothing this whole show. He seemed very removed from it all. It's tough to carry rooms like as a solo artist but Martin Sexton would have killed it. Mason Jennings put me and my friends to sleep.

excellent show...fun relaxed vibe...this was my first time seeing mason live and I was pleasantly surprised. i brought my parents who were visiting for the weekend and they loved it too!

Mason Jennings is a prolific and talented artist, but I'd never seen him live. He exceeded my wildest expectations! Beyond the fantastic set lineup and terrific vocals, he entertained and segued beautifully between songs. Added so much depth to the music, knowing his thoughts behind many of his tracks... I'll never see them the same way again. Soiled Dove is an intimate, convenient location to boot, making the music even better. Best concert I've ever been to, bar none!!

Fantastic. His banter was spot-on, and he always meets with the audience after his shows. I gave him a self-addressed postcard; he promised to write back. He did it last year, how could I not believe him?

This was my first time seeing Mason Jennings, and I have to say that the show was excellent! What a talented and entertaining artist! The Birchmere was a great venue, with a peaceful, laid-back atmosphere. Great time!
