Kinky Boots (Touring)

Kinky Boots blew my expectations out of the water. Started off a little slow, but by the end I could hardly sit still. It was phenomenal, best performance I've seen. And a beautiful venue on top of it. Easy to find, parking ramp close by. I drove 4 hrs one way to see the show and would do it again!

I went with a group and we all enjoyed the show. It was a terrific story and the music was amazing. I highly recommend it.

Took along a friend. Was her first musical and she was amazed! Thank you for coming to Hershey!

I enjoyed it more than I thought I would. It was very entertaining and kept my interest. Took my 20 year old daughter and she could not stop smiling. We had a blast!

What an amazing show... The cast was brilliant, the choreography, the music, the singing, costumes .....simply everything was outstanding. You leave the show feeling great and singing. "YEAH.. YEAH.... Definitely going to buy the cd. No wonder it won so many Tonys and it was SOLD OUT ...Everyone should go see it !

I loved the message, loved many of the songs. Just left with the feeling that we got the understudies for a couple of the main characters. Since the understudies were not used in this particular performance, I have to wonder if it was just an off night. Something Gammage doesn't tell you\u2026. Show up at least an hour early, they don't have enough parking for a full house. I had to park 5 blocks away after sitting in stand still traffic for 45 minutes. Missed the first 15 minutes waiting in the lobby.

This was my daughter's first experience with a Broadway show and we both really enjoyed it. She watches clips on You Tube of several musicals and she knew a lot about Kinky Boots. Great cast and easy to understand the story.

Enthusiastic and energetic performance by a truly gifted cast who also impart a timely and inspirational message about diversity and acceptance for those who talents and goodness are often overlooked because they are different. The cast made the relatively simple staging come alive, the choreography was marvelous and the voices (with exception here and there) were strong and clear. We thoroughly enjoyed it and would go again, because this performance featured the understudies for the main roles (they were terrific) so we'd love to see how the leads work their magic!

So glad I went lots of fun. I saw the original on broadway in NY and this was a fun twist. The music was fabulous!!

Awesome to the Nth degree! So happy I got to attend. Our venue was packed. Loved everything -- sets, songs, story-line, characters, and performers. If you can go, do it!

We enjoyed this play so much! The singing and dancing was excellent, you just didn't want it to end. I would certainly recommend this play to anyone.

It was a good show for what you could hear of it. When the characters spoke you could hardly hear them. But when they sang it was loud. I got this for my mom for her birthday present and we were 10 rows from the stage and we all couldn t hear it all.

Kinky Boots was amazing! I wasn t sure if I would like this show, but I m so glad that I went to go see it. The story is of a young man named Charlie Prince who inherits his family s shoe making factory during a time when the industry is dying out. He meets Lola, a drag queen, and through their interactions decides to take a risk by forming a business partnership in order to save the factory and its workers, but will they succeed? In terms of sets, there were not that many in the show, but the few sets that they did have, they used to their advantage. The costumes and makeup for this show was incredible. The story takes place in England but this isn t a British period piece as it takes place in modern day. So the costumes reflect what you d see people were today in any part of the world. As mentioned earlier, Lola is a drag queen and her fellow drag performers are called Angels. Those male actors were incredibly convincing as women. They had the best costumes of the whole show. I was most impressed with all the actors abilities to dance in high heels. The music in this show was great to listen to. In terms of singing, I haven t seen a show where the performers belted out nearly every song, which proves their abilities. The acting was so energetic, emotional, and engaging. By far, the best part of this show was its themes of love, compassion, understanding, and acceptance. Just because something is different, doesn t mean it s wrong, it s simply a new experience. In all, I strongly recommend this show.

The singing was incredible, the storyline was funny and the actors were at the top of their craft. Would go to see again!!

You should inform people in your trailers and advertising that the play involves homosexuality them some of us would not attend, instead of having to walk out at intermission.

I absolutely love the show Kinky Boots!! The staging, the songs, the story, the surprises are all just wonderful!! I first saw it a few years ago and have been raving about it ever since. So glad to see it again in Syracuse, as I just love the OnCenter venue.

This was my first Broadway touring show. I saw the movie years ago. The cast was very talented and I loved how they used and moved the stairs for each scene. It was a creative use of small space. I could listen to Jos N Banks sing all day.

disappointing. low energy. could have been much better. premis is good, just lacks....

Acting and dancing was great. Story is funny and interesting. Music was good from what I could hear. They had trouble with the sound from the beginning. Songs were muttled and hard to understand. Improved slightly as shoe progressed, but never 100%. Not sure if the venue or tour couldn't get it figured out. Overall a fair experience as musicals go, and I go often.

I thoroughly enjoyed the show and was impressed by the overall message of acceptance. The cast had many changes and replacements, but the show ran flawlessly. The dancing and singing were incredible! I would go again.

As usual with shows at the Morrison, the lighting was bad (somebody please fix the dark spot DS, just Sl of center), and the voices were unintelligible, except for the girlfriend role, and she was having trouble finding her key. Sets were great, and I assume if we d seen the regular cast the show overall would have been better. The one exception was the young man playing Lola...he was great.

This show was great! the singing and music were wonderful, the acting was superb! It was funny and the message it delivered probably made everyone there think about how they judge people and hopefully changed their way of thinking.

Loved this production and never a bad seat in the Morrison Center!

If there are people in the audience able to go deeper than surface exteriors, there are people who can relate to the life experiences of the characters in this show. The journey is one that we all can face, and choose to evolve or not. We can all hope to do it with grace, but if not, we hope there are good friends around to help us back up when we fall.

Absolutely one of the best musicals I've seen! I can honestly say this is one that I would see again.

This was a fun musical. The characters portrayed kept your interest and the singer/actors were very good.

The talent of this troop was amazing! The beauty of all of the actors, the singing especially Lola, the set designs and the story that should be shared! We all need to slow down and learn, love people for who they are and not be afraid!

This show exceeded my expectations! It was so funny with so much energy, I laughed , cried, I was in awe, Lance Bordelon! his voice was magical! Everyone in the cast was amazing, I had the best time!

They had me at "Cyndi Lauper". It was hilarious, fun, poignant, creative and inspiring. Loved the costume designs, too. I would see this again for sure!

The storyline is amazing! I believe that some of the subject matter can possibly help some who are particularly struggling with common issues. Lola was SPECTACULAR! Definitely a must see for all!

Kinky Boots is funny, joyous and with a perfect message. This national touring production felt Broadway caliber. An understudy played the role of Charlie and he was terrific - didn't realize he was an understudy until later.

I enjoy the original Recording of Kinky Boots, but I didn't think I would LOVE seeing it. It was a FANTASTIC SHOW! The music was incredible, it was fun, sad (yes i cried twice during the show). It was my first time sitting in Orchestra and we sat on the right side of the theater and was able to see the entire stage. Two compliments though---But it doesn't have to do with the Musial. 1. The Acoustics in the show were awful...I sometimes felt like I was at a rock conert. At the end of the show my ears were ringing. I completely understand that the Marcus PAC is old. 2. I have been to several shows at the Marcus PAC & the shows NEVER start on time! It is usually 5-10 minutes late.

More fun then the movie, but not all movie music numbers were in the stage production.

The play was faced paced with an equally enjoyable story line and musical presentation. Actors were excellent, catching you up in the characters. Costumes and stage design perfect.

seats were fantastic but ticketmasters fees are getting more and more outrageous every day. The show it self was excellent. I saw it in New York opening night. the younger cast kept the energy going, Lola did a good job its a tough job when others have to compare you to Wayne and Billys performances, The actor playing Charlie was handsome but fell alittle short for me. I tried to break the thought through out the show but I felt he was too young for the role, he fell a little short on his number Soul of A Man, I love the diversity of the supporting cast, The Angels were great too, full of energy. Overall the show is fantastic because it has such a fantastic message to be delivered. Everyone should see this show man or woman, black or white gay or straight everyone ! P.S. Lola was working the dress too much during the Hold me in your heart number. it only needs one big dress flourish at the end of the number. the other dress flourishes distracted the number. I was a Broadway performer in the 1980s, I direct theatre now.

Fun and energetic play! Lola was especially wonderful!

Saw it in NYC and came back to see it again in San Antonio...even bought the CD and shirt and hoodie!

This show was everything and more than I imagined. The performers are superb singers and dancers, and the costumes are stunning. In addition to being entertaining, the show delivers a message about acceptance that is presented with finesse. I loved this show!

A great story about being true to yourself even if it means redefining your dreams or your easy of thinking or seeing the world. Great music and storyline. A definite must see!

My Fiance and I really, really really enjoyed the play sooo much, The music and singing was soo good, Ive seen the movie a dozen times, but seeing the ay live is so much better, and much more personal, really gets your emotions into the storyline. Great show! I had no idea of the story line before attending. It was fun and uplifting... Only issue is my friends and I were a little upset that the drag queens are sexier than we could ever be and walk and dance with such grace in stilettos!

My husband had never been to a musical and he was very impressed! The music and voices were great. It kept moving so neither half was too long. Simple sets... The voices really were the great part of the show. Humorous and heart warming. I would recommend this to anyone!

Great show - tons of fun. I've seen the movie and loved it and I thought the musical followed the story really well. "Lola" was amazing! And the number right before intermission is really well choreographed. For anyone who wants to have fun, its a must see!

I was blown away at the stage performances, casting and set design of this show! It was entertaining and kept me laughing in my seat! Prior to seeing the show, I had no idea what the show was about. I walked away with so many thought provoking reflections. Excellent production! Would definitely see it again!

Having seen the original Broadway cast, I hoped the touring company would come close to the magic I had experienced in NYC. I was not disappointed. Sharp choreography, excellent casting and a terrific leading man, Darius Harper as "Lola", made Kinky Boots one of the best touring performances I've seen in years. Drop everything and go see this show!

I had seen Kinky Boots on Broadway in 2013. I was not sure I wanted to see it again, but loved it just as much if not more. Clever staging and choreography were a big plus along with wonderful music and a message. The Actors were fantastic! A great night at the theatre.

This play is a must see. very topical and quite moving while being entertaining.

This play was fabulous and so entertaining. We loved every minute of it. The best part is when the owner of the shoe factory tries to walk in the boots.

The cast was amazing! This show rivaled those I have seen on Broadway in every way. I am already ready to see it again.

Entire cast was fantastic, and the production values were first-rate. The costumes were amazing, and the choreography was wonderful.

My sister and I wanted to see this show on our trip to New York last year, but didn't have time to do it. Luckily, they came to St. Louis. What an amazing cast of actors!! We laughed and danced in our seats the entire show!! Loved it!!

I was engaged from beginning to end. The cast was strong and the story compelling. Staging captivated me too. The only criticism is that the musical scenes with the drag artists could / should have been more dynamic. Possibly the fault of the sound system. But they deserved to be heard and felt more strongly. A great show with a great message.

Got off to a slightly slow start but warmed up quickly. Overall, absolutely the best show I have seen in Birmingham.

I didn t want it to end! Laughed and smiled the entire time!! This performance gave me ALL the feels . Already downloaded the soundtrack, and I d watch it over and over if I had the opportunity!

Loved the venue, and the actors were fantastic. Lots of toe tapping music and a rousing finale.

Not sure if it was the show or the production, but this time, there seemed to be no excitement or heart about the show. Cast seemed to be maybe newbies or just tired, but they never connected with each other on stage. We were a little let down, but still liked the show.

I saw "Kinky Boots" in a packed house on opening night. The music, singing, dancing and acting were great! I loved that there was a live orchestra. The show was both funny and moving - a Harvey Fierstein trademark. Cyndi Lauper's composition "Not My Father's Son" positively blew me away! It was kind of disconcerting having the actor who played Lola change mid-show, but I guess it couldn't be helped. Each actor was very good in his own way, but I really enjoyed Jos N. Banks. My main complaint was that the sound was muddy the first night, making some lines and lyrics difficult to understand. I hope they fixed that for subsequent performances. Overall, though, I (and the entire audience) had a blast, so I wholeheartedly recommend the show.

There really was no story line and the shake was not about why I expected. Do not expect Cindy Lauper if you go as I did.

Good show, Good seats. Easy parking and egress if you get there 45 minutes before show time on a weekday. Cast was great.
