This show was an absolute blast! Both Book of Love and The Human League sounds like they did back in the day! The energy was amazing! So many people who just love synth pop reliving their youth and the bands did NOT disappoint! They brought great energy and gave the crowd back what we were giving them. I so wish I could go again!!! Don t say, well maybe...GO! You won t regret it!!!!

A good show with many of the hits expected & a few new ones as well. Some of it was a bit polished (maybe too polished) and the visuals were distracting sometimes (though I liked the tourist sheep). Unfortunately, the band had no idea their sound tanked at the start of Fascination & so we could not hear the 1st couple minutes of it. Men Without Hats were in some ways better in that they (well, he, being Ivan) was spontaneous and goofy (silly dance moves). I would have liked a bit more from other that the 1st 2 LPs but it was still solid. Both bands were nicely conversant with the audience (which is sort of rare these days). All in all, a really good double bill.

Men Without Hats were good although it isn't really them, it was just Ivan with a band. Still Ivan sounded great. I guess the crowd that night wasn't good enough for him as we did not get an encore. Human League sounded incredible. Phil, Susan, and Joanne were top notch that night. I was amazed at how well all the synth sounds were accurate. That's one of my pet peeves about seeing older 80s bands, they sometimes have synth sounds that don't sound match the song because they can't get a hold of those older instruments that were originally used. Even if you're not the hugest HL fan, go see them. It really was a blast and I'd go again if I could!

Having spent all my 20's in the 80's, this concert was a must, besides it being the 7th B52s show I'll have seen since the first show in '81. The crowd was amped and ready for the best and we got what we paid for. Berlin and The Fixx were great and tight musically and were the perfect lead up to the quintescential 80's party band, the B52's, who came to play and did not let anyone down. Stood and danced the entire set, awesome!. I must admit, I had mixed feelings for what was a favorite band of mine in the 80's, Human League and their ability to follow such a very strong act who had the entire crowd on their feet for a good part of the show and sadly, they did not play up to any standard set by the prior sets. The stage seemed sterile and austere in comparison as well their delivery, pretty stale. My date and I gave them 3 songs to woo us to stay and we beat feet after the 3rd, along with what seemed like most of the rest of the crowd who were well on their way out the door as were we. I would have much rather have seen the B52;s headline with another great 80's group like Spandau Ballet or perhaps even ABC or even English Beat. Oh well, you can't always have a perfect evening. I just can't understand the thinking that the strength of Human League's past performances and album sales would warrant them headliners for such an important Hollywood Bowl night.

All the bands rocked! Magnificant comeback from the old days. Fred for example, from B52s truely showed lots of energy at his age. For viewers that missed this conceet was a big loss of a lifetime. Terri from Berlin was an awesome host as well as her performance. p.s OMG she still looks hot at her age. The Fixx continues to pull off an excellent show. Last, who i really wanted to see, since others seen in concert many times, was Human League. Not once have i ever in my life had opportunity to see them in concert. Any boy! Phil (singer) and the gorgeous gals blew me away for my first time seeing them. In my opinion as far as sound quality ,on stage out of other bands that night, was loud, and very clean sound. They brought keybord and synth sounds from back in that era. All the bands rocked overall in my eyes.

This was a very good show, all 4 bands sounded great, its amazing that each lead singer stilled sounded so well and their voices have not cracked or soound worse for wear. My only complaint would be that each band should have played more songs in their set, especially the Fixx's set seemed rather short. I am surprised that B-52's did not headline and that it was the Human League, not that I have a issue with that. So for 3 hours it was like I was transported back in time and felt like a teenager again.

Great perfomances. A lot of these guys still sound like the record. ! The Human League perform some new tracks that really good. The only low of the night, B52s went a little long, and Terri Nunn as the host should have save one big song for the end instead of dissapearing. But overall a great show.

Poor choice of Human League as the closer. The group was flat and did not ignite any excitement from the crowd, such a bummer to leave not pumped up! Berlin was wonderful as always, she should have ended the concert then everyone would have left with her songs playing in their heads. B-52s and Fixx did not disappoint and pulled out all of their hits that made them famous in the 80's. But wow, Human League was a huge disappointment, singing an encore that no one knows?

Concert line up would be better in this order: Berlin the Fixx (playing fewer songs and exclude the new song) Human League (cut set by 4 songs) Headliner should be: the B52s!!! Berlin's set was good. Not too long...played the songs we know and want to hear. A perfect way to kick off the evening. The Fixx---too long. Human League---it's hard to follow the B52s and their energy! Cut the unknown songs. The B52s--- great as usual! They brought the whole house to their feet! Everyone was singing along, If you shorten the sets of the Fixx and Human League, the B52s can play more songs! With all that said... it was a nice evening.

In summary: Berlin: Sounded great, Terri looked awesome. Set list too short, should of played later. The Fixx: Better than expected. B52's: Incredible. Amazing how great they looked and sounded. Should of closed. The Human League: Terrible. No idea why they closed. People were leaving half way through their set.

Great venue for a mosaic of talent. I was surprised that the B52's weren't the last band of the night, seeing the crowd loved them the most. We had a great time people watching all the people dressed in their fave 80s costumes. Overall... It was great seeing these bands close to 30 years later. THEY STILL LOOK AND SOUND GREAT! I didn't like some of the disturbing/twisted video segments that the HUMAN LEAGUE started out with... was STRANGE. I love going to concerts at the HWD BOWL, but WHY are there SO MANY FEES???? It's not like we get any "conveniences" with convenience charges!!!!!!

First of all, I cannot believe they started on time! When does a concert ever start on time? We missed Berlin and half of the Fixx! The Fixx was one of the main reasons we went! The traffic at the bowl was the usual nightmare. The parking a joke. The staff totally useless. It was dark and they couldn't help us find our seats. Then the people behind us were so stinking drunk it was impossible to enjoy the music!

I've been a 40-year old longtime fan of New Wave music since the 80s (still play my favorite tunes weekly!) and the Human League, The B-52's, The Fixx and Berlin concert at LA's Hollywood Bowl did NOT disappoint. Firstly Terri Nunn of Berlin our gracious host for the night looked amazing and her vocals were the strongest of all the women singers of the evening. Berlin sang all their big hits as did The Fixx, whose lead singer Cy Curnin looks more handsome than his 80s days. His voice was also superb. What can I say about the B-52's? I'm not one of their biggest fans but with their infectious energy and fun songs you can't help but dance\u2014they had the entire Bowl audience on their feet. But the act of the evening by far was the Human League! Philip Oakey brought the middle-aged British cool and Susan Ann Sulley and Joanne Catherall ushered in the night's high end, smooth glamour. The band's avant-garde presentation is completed by an onstage screen positioned above and behind the group that flashes images and videos of everything from swimming amoeba to urban city dweller sheep participating in the rat race of life. Human League did all the hits and more: Fascination, Mirror Man, Love Action, Don't You Want Me and more. Don't walk, run, bop and skip all the way to this show if you have the opportunity. It does NOT disappoint. Note: in some cities Human League is the headlining act, in others it's the B-52s and in some cities The Fixx in not on the bill but Men Without Hats is. But in any carnation, this show is well worth it. Be sure to check it out! It's been days after my show, but in my brain I'm still there :0)

ELECTRICEARL
HUMAN LEAGUE Con: The girls still can't sing. Pro: They did "Empire State Human," one of their earliest singles. As with all shows of this type of music, it's impossible to tell how much of the instrumental part is pre-recorded or "triggered" from a synthesizer. You're really paying to see the singers. I wish they'd done more songs from DARE, which is one of the all-time classic albums of that era. There was too much material that I didn't recognize, at the expense of better material that was not played. B-52s Con: Kate rarely plays keyboards anymore. There's a guy in the back who plays her old parts. Pro: Lots of hits! This was my first time seeing them in over 30 years. The biggest difference, of course, is how many hits they've had in the meantime, lots of great songs I'd never seen them perform live before (other than on TV). Kate sings better than ever. Fred sounds about the same. Cindy not so great.

I liked the show unfortunately there was two women behind us talking through The B-52's, The Fixx and Berlin's performance. Apparently they were there to see the Human League. They did not stop talking until the Human League came on, which in my opinion were the worst. I did not like them as much. We left early! People out there - when you attend a performance it is to watch not talk!! Very inconsiderate and rude.

B-52's great as usual! The Fixx put on a fine show, too. Human League was dismal and unentertaining. The real gem of the show was Terry Nunn (Berlin). She gave a spectacular performance and was a charming emcee.

I came to this event as a big fan of The Human League and the B-52s; I had never heard The Fixx or Berlin. Things started off well; these latter two bands delivered fine, straightforward performances. I was a little disappointed by the B's. First, the sound quality was not very good. The kick drum and bass guitar were non-existent. A four-to-the-floor stomper like "Mesopotamia" is never going to sound right if you can't hear the kick drum and bass guitar! Additionally, it wasn't one of Keith Strickland's better performances. His guitar playing was imprecise and noisy, and it didn't serve to anchor the songs melodically. That kind of playing only works in a context where there are keyboards and rhythm guitars to fill out the center. Sadly, the keyboard player was also playing things ragged and loose, omitting several signature parts. Still, Kate, Cindy, and Fred did a great job. Kate's vocals were stellar as ever. I was a little worried at this point in the show, but The Human League really delivered. They were great from the first moment. I think part of the crowd was a little mystified by their high-fashion, continental aesthetic, what with the arthouse backing film and Armani wardrobe and all. I'm guessing a lot of people really hadn't heard any of their songs except for "Human" and "Don't You Want Me" and so probably expected them to be a campy nostalgia act. Well, I'm glad that they take themselves more seriously than that. Their music deserves it. I hadn't listened to their records in a while, but I was struck by the cold beauty of their vocal melodies set against the harsh keyboard lines. The sound was rich and full and all the vocals were dead on. The encore performance of "In Electric Dreams" was killer.

great 80s music. By far, B-52s were the best act. Show should have ended with B-52s as 4th act. Berlin should have been given more time. Human league should not have sang so many new (e.g. 2011) songs as nobody knew them and the crowd was not involved.

Berlin, The Fixx and The B-52's were amazing, so fun! But Human League... not so good. 1. Heads stopped bobbing, and many, many people started leaving (including us) after Human League was on for a few minutes. 2. B-52's should have been the last act. My two cents.

Great concert. Every band was great. I really cam for the Human League and to be honest they were the least authentic sounding to their old LPs I used to listen to, but I loved it all the same : ) Unfortunately, althought he crowd appeared older and more mature, we had an incident with a drunk patron behind us and had to call Security who removed him- a bit of a distraction!!

Great evening with pop-synth masters Human League. Good amount of their greatest hits for the hour and a half show. Phil Oakey's vocals were spot on. Joanne and Susan holding up well. A great way to peer back into the not-so distant past! The only semi buzz-kill was walking thru the casino--On the other hand, I am grateful that they are hosting this kind of talent.

Four awesome 80's bands reunited for an evening of great memories of old and some new memories to cherish. The Hollywood Bowl is spectacular on hot summer evenings and the ambiance is unmatched by any local venues. Our group took advantage of the shuttle from Lakewood mall and I would recommend it to all locals. It was a worry free night not having to deal with the congested freeways and all the parking lot fees. Plus the party started on the bus with everyone visiting with old friends and making new ones....watch out for the beer and wine bottles being passed around by the passengers!!! I have only one bad comment to share about the concert...it was hard to understand the words of the songs due to a bad setting on the audio equipment. Overall they all looked and sounded amazing!!

Loved the concert overall, but I have to admit that the B52's were the show. For reasons that I do not understand the Human League was the last act. Anything after the B52's was just anti climatic. I thought my feelings were just because I am a fan, but everyone around us said the same thing. Can't beat the venue...nothing like the Bowl. Berlin was fantastic, Fixx was okay, and the Human League was boring. The B52's were as good as ever and really stole the show. You just can't follow them with someone who has only a hit or two.

The line up was fun. Who thought that the Human League should be the headliner? They only have 3 songs tops that anyone has heard of. If Human League was in the 1 through 3 position and The B-52's were the headliner that would have made the show so much better.

This was a great show - can't beat the venue: the Hollywood Bowl is so much fun! Berlin probably had the best sound and Terri Nunn looks phenomenal! The Fixx was the great too! I really thought for sure that the B-52's would have headlined. Out of all the bands, they had the most well-known songs. They were the third act and were so much fun. I do have to say that whoever was doing their sound should pay more attention to volume. Kate Pierson's mic was up way too high - almost to the point of crackling, and Cindy Wilson's was not up high enough. (Maybe they mixed them up?) I really was disappointed that the Human League was the headlining band. Really? I (and most of the audience) knew three of their songs. The rest of the time it was really difficult to sit through after the thrill of the B-52's. Overall, though, a great concert and a fun blast from the past!

Well the show was super oh!! Yeah!! Beautiful Terry Nunn & Berlin open the show with No More Words; fantastic then Terri as a HOST Beautiful & Brilliant as she was very creative talking a little about each band she presented. The Fixx terrific sound and their performance excellent; they make all the people stand up and dance when played "One Thing Leads To Another" and "Saved By Zero" about B52's what I can say that you already don't know. They make everybody sing and dance all of their hits. Wow!!! People got crazy and back in time enjoying all of these bands. But when Human League started you can feel the sound in your chest vibrating it was expectacular of course their Electronic sound makes me and not just me all the people jump from our sits and dance. Listen carefully people next show this kind don't miss it. Price of tickets doesn't matter you will go back in time, enjoy and remember those days "You Know What I'm Talking About"

Over all a good concert, Berlin and the B-52's were great, would have like to see Berlin on stage a bit longer. The Fix really was surprising with a clean set, and and excellent performance. Human League sounded great but needed to reach into their originals a bit more, it was an 80's theme so bringing newer music on board does not really play as well, especially with a + 40's age crowd. Over all good to see these bands still getting out their and putting forth good performances.

The show was great. There was a fun & festive atmosphere. It was great to have so many bands playing together - Berlin, the Fixx, the B-52's and The Human League. The only downside the evening was that the B-52's had such a lively set it was kind of a letdown to have the Human League end the evening. If the lineup had been switched it would have been perfect. The first song was hilarious :) , main singer hooded up with a jacket on in that heat :) popping to the front of the stage and then going back with his mike off and not realising :). Then he started the second song and still nobody told him his mike was still off , only when one of the stage hands ran out and changed it after all the crowd were shouting it to him :) :) :) . with all the technology around and it being Las Vegas u would have thought they would have been a bit more proffesional than that. Other than that it was okay , apart from the backup singers , blonde was having a real good time but the brunette looked as if she didnt want to be there !!!!!!! Love the B-52's! The other bands were great and I loved hearing the 80's music, but my heart belongs to Fred, Kate and Cindy. The Hollywood Bowl is an excellent place to see a concert. The only problem is parking, but not so much.

Saw Human League at House of Blues in Vegas. They were amazing. The band sounded great and the venue was fantastic. Not a bad seat anywhere. You are so close to the stage no matter where you sit. I highly recommend.

The Human League was in incredible form as they literally belted out their hits from the last 40 years in sonic perfection. The sound system at The House of Blues was perfectly tuned to deliver back massaging bass and clear powerful highs. How Phil has maintained his voice over these years is a source of delight and wonder...the girls too! As a long time fan and listener I could not have been more pleased with the whole experience! My wife described them as advant guard and Phil's wardrobe changes really set the theme. Although I see about 25 concerts per year, I have little doubt that any other group, let alone one of my 80's favorites, will pull off such concert perfection.

The pioneers of electro-pop music, Human League has been my favorite group since I was a little kid. The group dazzled Times Square with old and new favorites...all of which still sound so futuristic. They use digital synthesizers at their concerts, which add a fresh feel to their hits from the 80's and early 90's. Their songs of the last 10 years are great because they present a side of The League most U.S. audiences aren't familiar with.

The Human League were Amazing. They played all their hits and everyone was dancing. It was as if it was the 1980's all over again. I went crazy when they played SOUND OF THE CROWD and HUMAN. It was GREAT. Men Without Hats were Great also as the Opening Band. Everyone was Screaming and dancing to SAFETY DANCE . This is a Great place for Concerts as there was plenty of room on the Dancefloor and Monitors for everyone to see and a Full Balcony with Monitors if you wanted to sit down. Sound was Great and 3 seperate bars one with Liquor, 1 with Energy drinks and Vitamin Water and another with snacks. I hope more bands play here and I was told it use to be THE NOKIA .

The show was fab! The seatlist was a dream to hear. Phil really does a great job engaging the crowd, and Susan and Joanne are fab singing and dancing. I've always loved their voices together. Was having a great time dancing, and the singing from the crowd during Don't Want Me was a lot of fun. The sound going out was a bit of a disappointment, but the girls had the devil may care attitude, and carried on. Only East Coast show made this extra special. Makes me want to go to England to see them play during their standard once a year performances.

This is the third time I've seen Human League over the last 20 years or so. Each show is memorable - I think it's the combination of the visuals and the voices. As I get older, I notice things I didn't notice when I was younger. For example, Philip Oakey's voice has much more warmth live than it does on vinyl or CD. I think a lot of people think of The Human League as robotic, but this show proved they are not. Susan Sulley has great presence, and I like Joanne Catherall because she's understated. I also am impressed by Oakey's set of pipes - his lung power knocks you out, and he can even hit the same higher notes he hit earlier in his career. The visuals are always interesting, though I suppose I could have done without the lesbian nuns (a holdover from when the group was punkier and edgier)? I also think the group has achieved a level of sophistication and maturity in terms of performing; and I love when the act is gracious, which Human League was - Philip said he was thankful for the fans continuing to buy CD's and tickets, and when the women were cheered, they both looked charmingly touched and surprised, as if they are still newbies who can't quite understand the audience appreciation. At the risk of sounding gushy, I should also say that I LOVE the Best Buy Theater as a venue. It's got something for everyone - lots of room close to the stage in front, stadium seating in the back for those who wish to sit, fantastic acoustics (you can hear every word the singer sings, and even hear the performance while you're in the bathroom), a liberal policy toward bringing your drink into the performance space instead of treating you like you're a 12-year-old who's going to spill your beer. And getting to hear Men Without Hats as the opening band, after all these years, made me a little giddy. As you can tell, I thoroughly enjoyed this show - just wish one of my favorite songs, "Fascination," hadn't been marred by sound troubles in the first minute or so. But Philip was even gracious about that. He said, later, 'Sorry - we're in our own little world up here, we didn't realize there were troubles.'

Absolutely an amazing event! I recently rediscovered the genius that is the Human League and started listening to all their songs, besides the only two most people know ("Don't You Want Me" & "Human:). I discovered that they have a long stream of catchy songs that even extends into the present, unlike most bands from "that era." So when the opportunity came along to se them live, I was there! Best Buy Theater was a very nice, clean and friendly venue...and what better place than the crossroads of the world...Times Square. Well the excitement from the fans was definitely there. The show was hit packed and full of costume changes by the still lovely females of the group. It was a dance party, where the audience was encouraged to participate. I had an amazing time and look forward to seeing them again. They were very humble, appreciative...and yes...Human.

HUMAN LEAGUE AT BEST BUY THEATRE WAS GREAT!! I WAS ACTUALLY SURPRISED AT WHAT A PACKED HOUSE IT TURNED OUT TO BE.. BUT AFTER THE PERFORMANCES BY BOTH THE HUMAN LEAGUE AND MEN WITHOUT HATS I COULD UNDERSTAND WHY... IT WAS BOTH FULL OF ENERGY AND VERY ENTERTAINING.. IT BROUGHT ME BACK TO A TIME TWENTY YEARS AGO WHEN LIFE WAS LESS STRESSFUL AND ALL THAT MATTERED WAS GETTING LOST IN THE DANCE MUSIC AND HAVING A GREAT TIME... PHIL OAKEY STILL HAS THE CHARISMA AND STYLE HE PORTRAYED BACK THEN AND HIS BACK UP SINGERS STILL HAD THE SAME SEX APPEAL.. IT WAS SO MUCH FUN GOING BACK IN TIME AND ENJOYING THE TECHNO POP SONGS THAT TRUE EIGHTIES FANS ALWAYS LOVED.. I THOROUGHLY ENJOYED THE TRIP DOWN MEMORY LANE.. THANKS BEST BUY THEATRE.. HOPE TO DO IT AGAIN NEXT YEAR!!!

Always wanted to see the B-52's... got the crowd bopping. I wish they had turned th volume up. The Human League... OMG. I went home and immediately downloaded about 15 songs. They were the best! And their new songs kick ass too!

Men Without Hats... or Man with Hat, they should be called... was in poor form in KC. The only remaining member wears a black cowboy hat and his voice is terribly worn. With three hired backup musicians combined with the monotone voice I was actually shocked by the mere stage presence... of which there really was none. I have always been a fan... but sorry. Time to hang up the hat! Human League, on the other hand had an interesting stage presence... all white keyboards, drums and mic stands. However, the two female drones simply stood in place singing with no interaction with the crowd. Vocals were good, as well as the arrangements. However, the band could have been replaced with animatronic figures and had a warmer presence. UNLESS you are a hardcore HL fan.... pass this one.

When I go to see these bands from my earlier years, I really expect to be disappointed. I went to this double bill to see Men without hats who are one of my favorite bands of all time. They were great. The lead singer Ivan still has a great voice and an obvious love of his music. Ivan still has a great stage presence and really connects well with the audience. The Human League I did not expect to Love. I knew their hits from MTV, but knew little about them as far as live performance. I was blown away. Step by step, song by song, the group gave it their all, slowly drawing in the audience with their passion and showmanship and Love of what they are doing. The lead singer blew me away also with his stage presence, charisma and ability to connect with the audience. I did not expect to be won over by The Human League, but they did it. The Two woman in the band also original members were great with voices strong and wonderful presence and energy. Will they see me again as one of their great songs go??? Yes. A great night and great double bill.

Both Men Without Hats and Human Leauge were amazing performers! But Thunder Valley's sound system is awful. Worse yet they screwed up what was the most anticipated song of the whole night! During Don't You Want Me, they didn't have the females mice on for her part of the song. That made me sad :-(. Don't know if I ever want to see a show there again. This was my first time to Thunder Valley. Good job guys!

Excellent show. I was there mainly for Human League but Men Without Hats put on an energetic show. I had their Greatest Hits cds so I recognized most of the songs but their most popular song which they played last in their set got the crowd on the crowd on their feet. Then came the Human League. I'm a huge fan of 80s synthpop music and it's rare you get to hear this kind of music in Sacramento so being able to see Human League (and also Men Without Hats) was a rare treat. Human League did not disappoint. They played all their hits Fascination, Mirror Man, Human, and of course Don't You Want Me. They also played 3 songs from their latest album Credo (highly recommended). Also played a few songs from the 90s and 2000 which of course didn't get any airplay here in the USA but being a big synthpop fan I recognized the songs (Tell Me When from 1995 and All I Ever Wanted form 2000). I big surprise to me was when they played some of their older stuff from their earlier years (Being Boiled and Empire State Human). Overall an AMAZING show.

Human League for the most part sounded awesome. The sound system though could've been adjusted a little better. It didn't sound to clean to me. But then that's me, I'm picky about sound systems. At one time, when they sang "Don't You Want Me", the girl's mike went out when it came time for her to sing. So the audience helped her to sing her part. That was awesome! Phillip Oakey still sings great and has good energy. He kept moving from left to right of the stage the whole night. I felt like I was watching a tennis match or something. Opening act Men Without Hats was surprisingly good! This was my first time to see them and I didn't know what to expect. I only knew of them from their song "Safety Dance", but they really had other good songs! And the lead singer was fun to watch. He had a alot ot energy.
