Toadies

Alt-rock icons the Toadies are back on the road, celebrating the 20th anniversary of their 1994 debut album Rubberneck with a series of grungy, distortion-laden shows. Performing the classic album front to back alongside hits from their other releases, the Toadies take the stage with the same muscular sound that propelled them to fame back in the '90s, and audiences wouldn't have it any other way. From \"Possum Kingdom\" to \"Doll Skin,\" fans can expect to hear all their favorites as the band hits the road for their Rubberneck 20th Anniversary Tour.BACKGROUND SNAPSHOT:Formed in Texas in 1989, the Toadies toiled in relative ob.

I have only missed seeing Toadies play in Atlanta once in the last 9 years, and this was by far the best show I've seen them perform. The setting was much more intimate than Heaven at the old Masquerade location (they played in Hell at Underground Atlanta this time), which allowed both the opener, Local H, and Toadies to be much more interactive with the audience. Will not miss the next show!

They were fantastic! I was speechless at the end of the show. Definitely one of the best concerts I have attended. My one and only complaint was that the lead singer's mic was a bit quiet and difficult to hear at times. But nevertheless, phenomenal performance.

I haven't really heard Toadies before and when my hubby saw that they were performing at Wasted Space, he started bugging out and made me hear their songs....I liked the way they sounded and he really wanted to see the show, so I bought tickets and went to see them. It was our first time inside the Wasted Space and we were both very surprised to see that it was a very intimate venue.... The Willows performed the opening set and they were not bad at all. They rocked out and warmed up the audience....When Toadies went on, they just upped the energy of the crowd even more! They were awesome musicians! Very, very talented and they interacted with the crowd so well.... This is my second rock show here in the US....and I would just like to say they were amazing!!!

The venue was small and they did not open any seats. Crowd was very cool...no pushing or stupid people. The opening band was good but not on the level of the toadies. The toadies rocked very hard, Good show. Would go and see them again,

The staff at the venue were friendly, parking was close by and resonably priced. Food and drinks were good at the House of Blues. The opening acts were entertaining, but the highlight was definitely the Toadies. The put on a great show, and even stuck around afterwards at the merchandise table to meet the fans and sign aoutographs.

I've seen The Toadies at the Majestic twice before, but had never been to the Magic Stick. It's a super tiny venue, but absolutely perfect for this band. It was a small show, totally intimate, and the band's energy just pulsed through the place. I've never had more fun at a show! The Toadies, as always, put on an amazing show and hung around after to have some drinks with the lingering fans.

This show, in a nut-shell, was amazing! Smaller venue made it more the band more accessable to the fans, song choices were not only well pieced together but preformed better than if I'd thought of it myself. The energy from the band poured over the crowd and they were happy to give it right back. Pure syncronus energy, would reccommend it to anyone who is a fan of rock/grunge/metal.

The Toadies were okay, and the fans around us were going wild. Singing along, dancing, stabbing the air with the fists. But my wife and I left before it was over. The music all sounded the same. The Black Cat is a good place to see live music, though. First time we had been there. Nice and intimate, with acoustics that made my ears ring.

Fantastic, they played a great variety of material. Mostly music from Rubberneck and Feeler, with some of the latter two albums as well. Pretty much a greatest hits show, which is good with me. GREAT SHOW, even the two opening acts The Willowz and Backyard Tire Fire weren't half bad either!

The Toadies show in Washington, DC was one of the best shows I have ever attended. I have seen the Toadies 3 times since they got back together and every show has had its own personality. I rate this one as the best. This was the perfect venue for the Toadies. The venue was upstairs, and had plenty of room to move around, and two big bars to get the drinking on. The acoustics were amazing. I had never been to the Black Cat, but would recommend seeing any good rock concert there. As for the Toadies. They have not missed a beat since the starting days back in the 90s. If anything their break has made them even better. If you ever get the chance to see the Toadies please do. They are a wonderful group of guys and put on a great show. Every show I have seen them at they have hung around afterwords to mingle with the fans. You can't say that for most bands out there. Thanks to the Toadies!!! Clerks37

I'm a bigtime Toadies fan. On hearing their Live record, I knew I had to see them. This was my first time seeing them. They were spot on. Songs were played and sung perfectly. Todd's voice was great. It seemed effortless to him to scream and sing. I expected a heavier and more rockin' show. They are more of a groove band now than a sweaty balls out rock band. They sound so heavy and intense on the live record. Their transitions and dynamics were great; obviously seasoned veterans of the stage together. I'd recommend the show to any fan of the band.

This was the second Toadies show here since they got back together, and it was quite awesome once again. These guys bring it every time, and their followers always rise to the occasion. It's a love fest between Toadies and hardcore Toadies fans. The first show was jam-packed at Station 4, but this show was much more comfortable. Station 4 is not properly equipped for such crowds, but at least their urinals didn't overflow this time. It's a bit perplexing why Toadies chose to come back to this C-league venue after seeing what it was like the first time. I dunno, maybe they are friends with the owners or something. Don't get me wrong- Station 4 has its place in the MN music scene, but I want to see my favorite national bands at a better venue. Maybe it's the best they could do, but I doubt it - I saw Burden Brothers at Cabooze twice... they have the right connections to play a better joint. Maybe it was a scheduling issue. All that said - I'd go again in a second!

This was one the best concerts I've ever been to. The Toadies had the crowd right in the palm of their hand the entire time and a lot of that had to do with the fact that the venue wasn't cavernous and was very intimate. Great show with great music and I loved every second of it.

I went to see The Toadies primarily cause I love their music and for nostalgic reasons. I'd never had the chance to see them live back when they were first big, so it was great to get the opportunity to do so now. I didn't have much for expectations going in, not because I didn't think they'd be great, I just didn't know how well they'd be after being at it for so long. Well, they certainly well exceeded any expectations I would've had. The vocals were spot on - you'd think they'd just recorded Rubberneck with how close to the record the vocals were; truly impressive. The band also had a lot of energy, which was great. Meeting the band after was a thrill as well.

Supersoakers also opened which pushed out the start time and were pretty vain but not very good. Another great show at the Exit Inn, I was able to take in my camera, which allowed me to get some great photos and videos of the show. The first group Defense Wins Championships played their heart out, but they have still got a long ways to go, and the second group Gringo Star from Atlanta, where just weird. They played rock and roll, but the members of group kept switching instruments all throughout their set, so they are a real talented bunch of guys, but one of them just stood out more than the rest, because he just kept making the craziest faces. Anyway, the Toadies rocked the house the whole time that they were on the stage, and they played all of the fan favorites. The sound was just right and the crowd enjoyed every minute of the show. It was great to see Lewis clear eyed and sober along with the rest of the band, and the bass player really laid down a strong solid foundation for the group to play around. It was a really strong set of songs, and the only disappointment was that they could have done away with the two opening acts and played more than just a 60 minute set.

I'd just like to start off by saying how fortunate I was to finagle my way into a nice cushiony spot near the front, which was insulated with XXL men wearing XXL T-shrits. Thankfully all the hard bodies were to my far left. Categorically, not a typical Wednesday night. I have been a steady Toadies fan for over a decade now and this was the first time I have been able to see them live. Magical? Yes. Spellbinding? You know it. Todd's wizardly antics unexpectedly took me back to a night in 2003 at The Big Easy where Frank Black warped my mind free from oblivion. Yes, I am saying that The Toadies show was comparable to The Pixies. Only I did not escape The Pixies show unscathed ... I developed welt marks as result of being whipped by dreadlocks. And aside from having an awesome name like Clark the guitarist is quite the entertainer too. The only thing that was able to draw my attention away from his gifted phalanges was his charming boyish side grins and giddy expressions. Quite fascinating. Quite adorable. The music was so very well orchestrated. If I had a cd of the live show I would thoroughly enjoy it. They totally rocked it. I could feel the floor bending beneath me from the crowd's live excitement. They had us all wrapped around their little able fingers. Truly magical show. I will be seeing them again, for sure.

We have seen The Toadies a couple of times before - once at a medium-sized outdoor venue and once at a venue similar to the Ritz Ybor elsewhere in Tampa. The Ritz is pretty rough - it's neither snazzy nor immaculate - but the staff was all pleasant and the auditorium/stage perfect for a non-amphitheater rock concert experience. There were plenty of bathrooms for the ladies and the bathroom was very pleasant. (This is very important for female rock fans!) We were able to get right up front for the entire show and enjoyed seeing everything and interacting with the band. The Toadies are superb live - the musicianship and the vocals are top-notch. They played a great set, with tunes from a number of albums. I give the band 5 stars and the venue 4 (mostly because the floor was kinda' sticky). It was a great night!

Amazing! Toadies has been on my bucket list of bands to see since I was a kid and they did not disappoint! Best show I have seen all year! I grew up with these bands, knew all the words to almost every song. Incredible energy and performance, these guys voices have not changed in 20 years, timing and sound on point. Only downside is that the security team completely stopped any moshing! y tho?? Hecking awesome show, will see again if they come around. The best way to describe a Toadies concert is watching a group of guys who are just having a good time on stage playing music. That said they are very good musicians. They are extremely good guitar players, the vocals after 25 years are still as strong as ever which blows me away everytime I see them (this is my 5th time). And their Rhythm Section is criminally underrated.

The toadies put on a good show despite having a small crowd. In my opinion they shouldn't have booked the casino which is about an hour a way from Memphis. They should've played a venue in Memphis and probably would've doubled or tripled their attendance by doing that. Despite this, they put on a good show playing all of the songs from the rubberneck album. It was only about an hour and 15 minutes, so I was a little disappointed with the amount of time they played. All and all, I am glad that I attended. I hope they keep coming around but next time will play in Memphis. They will see a big difference in attendance.

They were amazing and the venue was incredible, it was like being on stage with them. I really enjoyed the new stuff and Vaden's voice sounds awesome, just like it did in the 90's. This was a more laid back version of their songs - and though it was hard to not rock out and want the more intense version of backslider and I come from the water - they were still so amazing. I hope they keep touring so I can see them again!

I have loved the Toadies for many many years. I thought that this show would be completely set up differently. I must have purchased my tickets too late because I never saw the option to upgrade to VIP so that I could sit in the front. I was the first person in line; however, I had to stand behind a guard rail. This really put a tamper on the entire experience. One of the main reasons that I love seeing shows at this venue is the ability to go up front. Well, I still enjoyed listening to the classics and even some new stuff.. The opener was really good as well.

Truly amazing concert! The Toadies still melt your face off twenty years after Rubberneck!! They played for almost two hours, performing Rubberneck from start to finish, as well as another set of songs from their other albums and some new material that will be on the 20th Anniversary reissue. Lots of shenanigans, such as a life size slice of pizza dancing on stage, special appearances with the opening bands and a Toadieized cover of Blondie's Heart of Glass :o) Loved every minute of it, especially the bone-crushing rendition of "I Burn" with four extra drummers... still have goosebumps from that! Thank you, Toadies, for one of the best concerts ever!

16th time to see the Toadies dating back to 1995. Played Rubberneck front to back which was my greatest rock concert experience. Amazing show

This show absolutely rocked. Toadies had an unbelievable set. Rubberneck was unreal. Todd Lewis had fun with the crowd. BattleMe was a big surprise, too. Wow, what an opener. You would expect these guys to be headliners. Overall, it was an outstanding show. Great venue. Personnel at house of blues Orlando are always first class for events as well. Security and bar staff are top notch. Especially Chewie.

This was an excellent event! The sound was terrific, unlike a lot of anniversary tours... I would highly recommend going and seeing the Toadies. One word of caution, the opening acts leave a lot to be desired. They need to get the Toadies sound guy running their board!

Toadies always rock the house. Especially at the Ritz! They played the entire Rubberneck album front to back then played another hour. The Supersuckers were awesome too!

These guys dove into the Rubberneck album. Performed all the songs in album order with very little break or pause between.

This was a fantastic concert. The toadies never disappoint. I love the way they started the show with all of their hits. I do not remember if they front-loaded their big hits this way in past shows or not, but it was very cool. We had a lot of fun. I never missed Toadies when they come to Houston. So please hurry back Toadies.

The opening bands sucked. Toadies were okay, but the crowd was miserable.

The venue was easy to get to and we found parking right away. The opening band Supersuckers delivered. The Toadies have survived the test of time and still rock as hard as they ever did. For this show they ripped through the entire Rubberneck album and played some songs off of their other albums. The audio in the venue was great and the energy was high.

The Toadies killed it Saturday night. I was so thrilled with the way they played the entire Rubberneck album from start to finish and then played some of their stuff from other albums. I wanted to see them when they were in town back in 2007 but I wasnt able to.

Even though the band members have changed over the years, and had a few rough patches along the way, Todd and Mark were at my first attended show with Supersuckers back in the 90's and here they were together again!! I believe they played most all of the songs from Rubberneck, some newer ones, and a few along the years. I felt like I was back in the early 90's, in an excellent way! The sound was great, you'd think that Todd's voice would fall off over the years, with how much resonance he puts into his performances, but it hasn't. Other music artists have to change their style over the years to match their voice, but Todd holds STRONG!! The Royale is the old Roxy, same place I saw them back in 2009, nice place overall. I still prefer the comfort of the Paradise though still.. Long as the Toadies play, I will be there.

The Toadies sound as great as ever. Show was a little top-heavy as they opened with Rubberneck in its entirety. Would have preferred for them to close with the album. But they were great.

Twenty years after their smash album Rubberneck was released, the Toadies show that they haven't lost a step. In fact they have added quite a few new steps along the way. After playing the entire Rubberneck album to open their show, they then proceeded on to playing a variety of their best songs from their other albums that they have released since the 1994 release of Rubberneck. They showed us that they are by no means a one trick album of a band. The band fed off of the energy of the crowd and vice versa. The chemistry between us the crowd and them being the band was undeniably electric. Each and every song, one after another was a duet between the band and the crowd and it was a pleasure to experience the unique bond that not too many bands can actually achieve with their fans in the audience. If you are a fan of The Toadies, or even just a fan of great music, and you want to experience a rare experience of a band truly have a chemical reaction with their audience, then this concert is a must for you to experience before you die. The experience will leave you buzzing and wishing that there was more. So, do yourself a great favor and get out and experience the show that is The Toadies! You are welcome in advance!

Played rubberneck from front to back plus few others. I danced non stop and sang non stop. 4 days later and I still have laryngitis. These guys never disappoint! Vaden's voice is beautiful, raw, and husky. The music is true rock and roll. It's angry it's funny it's sad it's confusing all in one. Put this on your bucketlist
