Tommy Cowell still has it. This rock voice from the '80s never ceases to captivate and invigorate the audience. The opening act Brillin rocked as well.

Great, great show!! Tommy Conwell and the Young Rumblers never disappoint! Started seeing them back in the 80's at the Empire Rock Club and Chestnut Cabaret. Love when they come back to entertain us. They still sound amazing and rock the house. Best part is you can see how much fun they are having being up there on stage. Looking forward to next year! Or sooner!!!!!!!!!

The three-piece Rumbler songs were great. Need more of those: Living Room, Satisfaction Guaranteed, Roadside, Yeah Daddy. Too many five-piece Rumbler B-sides: This Crowd, etc. Also, is mixing sound at a concert venue that hard in 2012?

To anybody looking to check whether or not TC&TYR have still got the goods, then let me tell you: yes. To be fair and honest, I actually went to see the opening act, Bricklin. As I found out during the show, Tommy himself reached out to Bricklin and asked if they wanted to pull off TWO reunions from 1986 in one night. Thank God they agreed; the lead singer even flew in from Paris. Bricklin is still as "rad" as they ever were (although only the drummer still has that hair)... but you're probably waiting to hear about the Rumblers. For a band that I'd never listened to, I was really impressed - and this may sound weird to anybody who remembers them from way back when, owned the cassette, wore the shirt and saw them five times in one year. To me, it was a brand new band who never existed before that night, and I bought their CD anyway. Tommy's got great energy, he can still shred, he can work the crowd (at one point he was playing on a table in the middle of the audience... and took his pants off). None of the guys have lost their touch. Once or twice, somebody would make a little gaff, and Tommy would just yell, "AHH, SH*T!" into the mic, which more than makes up for it in my opinion. Therefore, in conclusion, if you're in Philly the next time they decide to get together and do it again, you should totally go. Spare no expense. Tonight's the night!

The third annual gathering of the tribe of those of us who were in college in Philly area in the 80's was a joyful affair. Tommy, the guitar genius, was in fine form to lead us through another joyful ride on timeless tunes. This would be nostalgia, but here tunes don't lock into a time period, they could be fresh today. A few flaws in technology were driving TC crazy, but he kept rocking. Great night I hope they keep doing it every year! E Factory was way more comfortable for us folks nearing 50. Could the band still feel the energy of the crowd? That's up to the band. I'll attend either venue.
