The kids in the play were incredible! I had no idea what I would expect from the musical version of the movie and I was completely on the edge of my seat the whole time. I haven't been able to get "If only you would listen" out of my head!

The show itself was amazing! The talent of the young performers was incredible. As I am not familiar with the songs in the show I was a bit disappointed in the first half as I felt the music was too loud and I could not hear or understand what was being sung on stage. Second half was much better.

Music and performances were great. Only complaint I had was music was too loud even sitting in Lodges Section. At times, music drowned out lyrics and dialogue.

The music was wonderful and so was the dancing. The kids are very talented professio nals who played instruments and sang very well. The messages in the play were also good lessons for kids and adults to learn, I like plays that are fresh and new. It was good to hear Andrew Lloyd Weber again.

We attended the opening night performance of School of Rock while visiting Rochester. The venue is lovely and I had no problem seeing the stage. The acoustics were fine when the actors were talking or when the songs were accompanied by moderate music. However, whenever they were rocking out, the music volume made it difficult to discern the lyrics to the songs. The sound needs to be more balanced and needs to be tweaked for subsequent performances. The kids played their own instruments and gave energetic performances which made for an entertaining evening.

School of Rock was so fabulous! The performers all shined and the kids especially were phenomenal! I was so impressed with them singing and dancing and playing their own instruments too! The ending song at the Battle of the Bands was awesome! A musical and a rock show all in one! I highly recommend this show!

Loved the movie but found this production kind of boring. Any time the kids aren't on stage is a major letdown. The actor playing Dewey just doesn't have the charisma to pull this off. He's kind of doing an impersonation of Jack Black but simply doesn't give it his all. The other adults are simply adequate, but decent, touring actors. However, the kids are amazing and really fun to watch. I guarantee you that you will only remember one song, "Stick it to the man", after leaving the show. Wish it could have been better.

I was a bit disappointed with this show.I thought the performances weren't very good. The voices of the performers weren't very powerful and not moving. The songs weren't that good either. I really enjoyed the movie version so I was expecting that this show will be as fun as the movie but i found it a bit dull.

School of Rock was a fabulous show! Would definitely recommend to anyone. Awesome actors, especially the kids! Would like to see some restoration to the Fisher building such as the doors. Also, would prefer restrooms on the main level. Overall, a great experience though!

To be honest, I wasn't sure I would like this show and bought tickets because I love the movie and wanted to see a musical. It pretty much blew me away. The story was pretty good and easy to follow, the original songs were catchy, and the cast was out of this world. I would go again just to see these talented performers.

Venue was great for this show. Son in wheelchair and all the staff were very helpful and the seating itself - roll in for the wheelchair and seat next to him for me was perfect. We were far right but the viewing angle was fine and sound was great. Good show with lots of fun songs and with the talented kids my son really enjoyed it

This was probably my best experience at the Marcus Performing Arts Center & the show was incredible! School of Rock, The Musical was mind blowing amazing! It is funny show but also sentimental. The kids in the show were amazingly talented. There is some language in the show but I think it is a kid friendly show. Now for my experience at the Center was great! I was sitting in Center loge which is higher than I usually sit and I became very dizzy. The usher working in my section was wonderful and let me sit in a regular chair in handicap (no one was in that section), which helped me tremendously.

This was one of the best theatrical performances I have ever attended and I attend quite a few. It was funny, fast paced, the kids were amazing, and all the players were just fantastic. I highly recommend this show to anyone, even if you have kids. It's a great atmosphere, relaxed, not like the opera or a more stuffy presentation. This is a must see!

The beginning was a little hard to understand lyrics and therefore context, but the production got better as it went on. The kids in the show were amazing and I enjoyed the character role of Rosalie played by Lexie Dorsett Sharp. Favorite Solo was "Where Did the Rock Go" performed by Rosalie. By the end of the First Act the show was rockin' pretty good and it carried through the Second Act to a great finale.

Just like many people who went to see the musical, I have seen the movie and that makes for a tough comparison for the lead actor. He was fine, but the kids (who actually play the music live) were what made the show. There are three or four memorable songs which is more than enough to sustain the show.

My wife and kids loved the production and the music. I loved the humor and the story. IT rocked! Best thing I can say is this... we had to DRAG my 9 year old daughter out of the house to 'go see some stupid play'. 2 hours later she was screaming and clapping and fist pumping to School of Rock! What a nice experience for us! We had heard about School of Rock a couple of years ago when in New York City but our schedule didn t allow us to see it then. It was worth the wait!!

We are big fans of Jack Black and the School of Rock movie so we were a bit apprehensive when purchasing tickets for this show. We absolutely loved it! The acting was outstanding and the songs were top notch. We even downloaded several from Spotify and iTunes. It was a spectacular show. Will highly recommend!

I went to see "School of Rock" at a Sunday afternoon performance on the spur of the moment. I had seen the movie the musical is based on about 10 years or so ago and found it entertaining. I didn't remember any of the songs in the movie and I had no idea what the songs in the musical were. But I thought It's Andrew Lloyd Webber, so why not. My expectations were not very high but was I ever pleasantly surprised. What a great show! The performance was uniformly first rate top to bottom. "Dewey" was energetic, non-stop action from start to finish; and the kids were great. They stole the show, especially the kids in the band. As skeptical as I was before the show, by the time it finished, I didn't want it to end. If the show comes back for a return engagement, I would definitely want to see it again!

I took my 10 year old boys to this show and they loved it. The child performers were nothing short of outstanding. Their talent took my breath away. The theater is magnificent. The seats were a little uncomfortable for someone who is tall. Not much leg room. The playbill had future shows that I am definitely going to take my sons to. All in all a great night.
