Face To Face

Southern California punks Face to Face formed in 1991, originally comprised of singer/guitarist Trever Keith, drummer Rob Kurth, and bassist Matt Riddle. Debuting early the following year on the Dr. Strange label with Don't Turn Away, the trio was quickly snapped up by Fat Wreck Chords, which reissued the LP soon after. Adding second guitarist Chad Yaro, Face to Face toured relentlessly in the months to follow, recording a series of singles and compilation tracks collected in 1994 as Over It.

basically, I had the time of my life. Face to face rules the world. Opening act was great as well. I love their commitment to giving back to their fan base and not separate themselves with barricades. The crowd-surfers were recognized by the band and I hope to see them again when new material is out. Also glad to see the classics played as if just produced, the loyal fans were and will never be disappointed! Thanks face to face!!!!!!!

They really stepped it up a few notches last night in Boston. They even did a song from "Ignorance is Bliss". The mosh pit was insane and the crowd sometimes sang louder than the band. Incredible.

Sound was not good for opening bands. Seemed better when headliner played but maybe it was just because I was more familiar with them. Kinda crappy that you can't see band when standing on the balcony. Ceiling just low enough to only see their feet.

The opening bands were okay. The lead singer from Pegboy was definitely high on something. He could barely stand on stage and sing. More entertainment because of his state then the band itself. Face to Face came out with such energy and kept it going all night. They were awesome. They played all their old songs, obviously, and sounded right on. They played for two hours which I thought was a long time including one encore. I'm so glad i saw them. If you like Punk music you have to see these legends, they will not disappoint. Oh and the pits were ridiculous...

Opening bands were ok. Weak turnout. Disappointed in Boston. More show for us to enjoy. Went crazy right up front. Excellent spot to see all action, throw elbows, scream like mad and lift crowd surfers. Face To Face rock harder than any wimpy band of young kids ever could. They played all old school stuff.

The first band, Cerebral Ballsy, was probably the worst band i think i have ever seen. Ever. Go later on to the event just so you don't have to watch that garbage Darwiners were pretty good but the crowd was just in shock over how bad cerebral ballsy was. Strung Out can out swinging and had such energy with their set, they really got the crowd going. I love Strung Out and they did not disappoint. Face to Face came and the place erupted. They started of with their new hit "Should Anything Go Wrong," which is probably the strongest song on their new album. They played a good mix of new and old stuff. You can tell though that they were having fun and enjoying themselves. From there they made it look easy and the energy they gave off was contagious. Great show, great band, and even some good sing alongs (even though you could hear the crowd singing along anyway!)

Face to Face was great. They played all their big hits and 3-4 of the songs off their new album. Unfortunately the sound system at Starland Ballroom was once again horrible. All you can hear is just noise - you couldn't really differentiate any of the instruments. I know pretty much every Face to Face song by heart, yet it was hard to pick up on some of them because everything was so overblown. Facet to Face was great and Strung Out was pretty good too, they had a lot of energy. The only reason I didn't give it a 5 stars was because of Starland Ballroom, not the bands.

That was one of (if not "THE") most amazing punk show I have ever beared witness to. I unfortunately missed the first two openers, but I heard from friends that they were pretty good. Strung Out was absolutely amazing! They played all the favorites, mixed things up a bit and even hit on some things that I've never heard them play in Boston. The crowd was amped! It was nice to have them be outside of the "headliner" status for once. I love them as a headliner, but when you have time to calm down between your set and the actual headliner, you find more time to tend to your fans! The guys were outside, at the merch stand and in the crowd ready to hang and shoot the shit with their fans. Face to Face... what can I say other than "Epic"! I've never got to see them before as they hadn't been touring or writing music for a long time now. They came out so hard that the entire crowd was in awe. The new tunes were savage, the old tunes with awesome and the overall energy and vibe of the show was just incredible.

I love the bands and was super excited to be there but I was kicked out for getting on the stage one time before Face to Face even played. I am a 30 year old cute mother of 4 ~ I usually get vip access not kicked out for rocking out at a punk show! I have been to countless shows in the west but this was my first on the east coast & as far as fun energy, it blew. There were maybe 50 people there... I was expecting more from the Boston scene (which is apparently non-existent)

Face to Face with Strung Out and the Darlings at the Majestic in Detroit on May 8 was one of the best punk rock shows I've been too. First off, the picture next to the band's name on the top of this page is Laurie Sargent's Boston based Face to Face band from the 80's you sill bastards... Anyway, this show was amazing. They played what was expected to be played and through in a song from "Ignorance is Bliss", an album they have said they will never touch LIVE again.. hence why I posted that particular song on the video link. Their is not much to say about this band, they are fantastic. Trever Keith is a punk rock singer... who can actually sing. I've seen them twice since and will see them again this weekend, I can never get sick of this band.

Face to Face has proven time and time again, that they are the BEST live band that has ever walked the planet. Every song sounds better than it did on the albums. The energy is always ramped up and in high supply. This show was about us fans. They played all the hits, kept it old school. They hinted at new stuff coming out for the first time in forever, but they kept the set list filled with all of the old classics. By far, the best show I have seen in a decade, FACE to Face is truly the best live band anywhere on the planet!!!!

There are several old-school punk bands I swore to see live one more time before I die and Face to Face was near the top of the list. So far this year I managed to cross off Rancid, Pennywise, Social Distortion, & 7-Seconds. They were all great and Face to Face did not disappoint either. The set-list was great, every hit was covered and they put so much energy into the show you would think they were 20 years younger. I cant believe they still sound that good.

Face to Face brings high energy and unity in punk rock! I hope they always keep south Florida on the map! The crowd was rowdy as hell in all the best way. As a female I was safely on the outskirts but who doesn't love a great mosh pit. I really feel recently in punk rock kids have been keeping their phones down which is an an anomoly these days. I'm a huge fan of the bass player Scott S. His stage presence is amazing (for lack of a better word) and of course Scott's good looks that drive all us ladies crazy.... The Norva is an absolutely awesome venue, and Face to Face rocked the joint. The only problem was that my girlfriend bought the tickets not for Face to Face, but so that I could see Blitzkid which was still showing on the set list up until the show. We drove 4 hours from Roanoke to VA beach to check out this band and they never showed, they were still on their European tour. I was pretty dissapointed with Ticketmaster and the Venue, because neither had answers as to where the band was. One member of the staff said they were stuck in traffic?! Stuck in traffic in Germany maybe, because they were not in the country the date of the show.
