Was not aware I d have to watch a full movie before Daniel and the band took the stage. Still, once he and the band came on, the music was raw, heartfelt and genuine - total Daniel Johnston and totally worth the wait.

The show was unique in a few ways, but primarily because it started with a movie. The music itself was fantastic--Built to Spill played the role of backing band and were great. While Johnston's voice sounds a bit different these days, it was still fantastic. The seats in the lower section of the Moore were pretty room, but that's not the case up in the balcony where it feels like being on an airplane.

Daniel was everything I expected and more. It was an honor to see him perform and something I will never forget. He is magical. If you have a chance to see him, do it!

Im a big Daniel Johnston fan. They showed the two hour documentary ,The Devil and Daniel Johnston, and then he came out.He was great, but he sang only for a half hour.Just wish there were more songs. He did sing some good ones like Funeral Home,Honey I sure miss you,Life in vain ,and True love will find you in the end.

I paid $60 to watch a movie and then a bunch of (mostly) no-name musicians back up Daniel Johnston for *half an hour*? That thumping sound you hear in the distance is me kicking myself.

Daniel was so debilitated between his mental illnesses, old age, and whatever cocktail of psychiatric drugs he s been taking for most of his life that it pained us to see him perform. The songs and the music were great as expected, but even though he s never had a great voice, it was exceptionally cringe-worthy this evening. His hands were shaking so profusely while he was trying to hold the microphone that I was afraid he was going to accidentally hurt himself or others. Showing his documentary before the show was a nice touch. I m glad Daniel was able to do one final tour, but I hope that it was for himself and that he was not being exploited. I regret not having the opportunity to see him before his health had deteriorated so much. After the first 10 or 15 minutes of his performance we had to excuse ourselves, so we left, because it was too emotionally taxing for us to witness him in that state. My girlfriend actually started to cry because it upset her so much.

I am so happy to have been able to see Daniel live and also purchase a few of his signed prints for only $15 each! The opening bands were good too.

Every song Daniel Johnston played was incredible. I loved every second of every song he played. The band right before him that played though was pretty awful. But besides that, the show was awesome and unforgettable!

Amazing! Would of rather he do more on his own or with accoustic player instead of with opening band.

The show was greatly entertaining in many aspects from seeing someone who went through so many struggles as an artist from the infamous documentary to seeing a real genuis play with his heart and loving every minute of it and appreciating his fans. Plus the actual signing of each of his prints at his shows that were very limited is something that is rare that I'm glad to have been a part of which is the magic of Daniel Johnston.

The show was great. Daniel was a little sketchy at first, but once he warmed up to the audience he told us some jokes and some stories. I really liked it when he just sang and had another guy come out to play guitar, but I didn't like the band he had come play behind him for the second half of his set. Daniel's Story: I had a dream the other night and in it there was a man who was being sentenced to death for attempting to commit suicide. Then I realized that the man was me and I yelled from the back of the court room "No, no, no!!"

I stood and waited over 2 hours to see Daniel Johnston perform. It was a very close and intimate set at first and one drugged audience member would not stop screaming even thought the audience was silent for the slow acoustic music. her friend had to drag her away. it would have been nice if security had gotten on it instead of letting it ruin the first set all the way. There was a break and Daniel said they were going to set up the piano which he is famous for. The second set began and there was no piano. The opening band instead accompanied him which was a BAD idea. Their instruments completely drowned out Daniel's soft voice. And then after this agonizing set he performed by himself again and the show ended abruptly. I turned around to see many confused and disappointed faces.

Very interesting show with Daniel. I don't know what I was expecting, but he did his job. I felt sad through most of his set, but the music was good and the younger crowd could relate.

Daniel Johnston was amazing...he is an artist and a legend. Seeing him in concert was everything one would want it to be. He is precisely as I hoped at his best he could be. Pure soul, pure love, pure goodness triumphs over any lack to musical dexterity. His heart runs the show and he is a master and inspiration.

The first half of the show was Daniel playing songs acoustically, then he was joined by another member of his joining him on acoustic guitar. There was then about a 10 minute break, then the opening band came out backing Daniel on the second half. The songs were very moving and at times, it was very sad with his lyrics about loneliness and so on. He seemed to be having a good time and the crowd was very supportive of him, shouting "I love you"'s and clapping whenever the opportunity arose. It was a great show and his songs that were playing were either from the Hi, How Are You stage all the way to his recent album, Is And Always Was. He played two Beatles songs, and a song by John Lennon. His encore was just one song, True Love Will Find You In The End, but it was enjoyable and so was event.

Daniel Johnston still got it, perfectly entertaining, makes you think - really does. And The Hymns.. wow, awesome. The guys can rock!! Key performance: Rock N Roll EGA. This is Daniel for you, "I had a dream of someone committing suicide, but he was caught and sentenced to death! And it was me. And I was sitting in the courtroom saying 'nooooo'"

Good crowd, good tunes. Daniel Johnston is always a classic. Show was a little short, he may have had an off night, no encore : (

Wonder was an intimate yet amble venue. There were some sounds snaffues, but other than that, it was great. We could see and hear Daniel very well.

I would have loved this show anywhere. Drove 4 hours from the north woods of WI to First Ave and it was totally worth it.
