G. Love & Special Sauce

G. L & SS started out strong and never slowed down. Great concert, great set list and long encore.

Not only was it awesome that this concert was outdoors but every band was amazing on the perfect night. JJ Greg & Mofro kicked it off with a ton of upbeat music you could dance to. Big Head Todd rocked the electric guitar and G. Love & Special Sauce finished it off with an hour and a half of crowd engaging exciting music.

My first G. Love and Special Sauce show.... They sounded awesome and I had a blast! They are so incredibly talented and I could watch G. Love all night....so dreamy! ;-)

G is the man! There is nothing better than seeing a musician play in his hometown. And theTLA is a great music venue. No matter where you stand, you are so close. G always delivers a great performance. Yeah!

Matt Costa and G Love and the Special Sauce were very good. The venue was strange. I was staying in Lake Tahoe. Was heading to get some dinner and walked by the South Shore Room. I asked if there were any seats or GA standing room. They told me there were some seats but they were filling up quickly. This was at 6pm or so. I was surprised, she tells me the opening act begins at 6:30. I said what? The ticket says the show starts at 8pm. She said Opening starts at 6:30 and G Love at 7:45. We grabbed some food and promptly returned. Sure enough it was just after 6:30pm and the opening act was playing. If I hadn't asked them, I would have been highly disappointed missing some of the show. If you see an act at the South Shore room, make sure you find out when the show starts. The South Shore room is also Harrah's night club PEEK. I suspect they wanted everyone out so they could open the night club.

First off, the ticket said the show started at 8pm... well, the doors actually opened at 6:30 and the opener started at 7:00, so I thought that was a bit deceitful. We arrived late, around 9pm (thinking we were only going to miss the opener) and the lady at the door said, "show is almost over." WHAT?!?! I guess G-Love was only playing till 9:30pm.... So, a 1.5 hr show,and it was at a Casino... this was just very unexpected for me. We caught the tail end of the show. I have seen G-Love about a dozen times. It felt like they were tired and a bit off... just wasn't feeling the Love-vibe I usually do at his shows. Of course, this could have been due to the fact that I was sorely disappointed for missing the majority of the show. I still love G-Love, but this whole experience was a bummer!! :(

The tickets and website all stated the show started at 8, we arrived at 7:45 and G Love was already playing. I thought that was weird that the headliner was already playing but assumed Matt Costa would be coming out after. Apparently Matt Costa started at 6:30! I have been to a lot of shows and never once has the opening band started before the ticket time!! I am very disappointed and upset that we missed Matt Costa, I have never seen him and was really excited to see him perform, never once did I think that when the tickets said 8, that I should be there at 6:30 to see the opening band! Very disappointed and will never go to another show at Harrah's Lake Tahoe!

The Tickets said doors open at 8. We assumed that meant that's when they are going to start letting people in. It turns out that's also the same time the concert started. We got to the show at 9 pm thinking that's when the show will start. We missed the whole show.

Sands was a great place to see G Love. They played lots of older stuff which made the show a lot of fun. G and the crew looked like they were having fun too.

G. Love along with his Original Special Sauce did not disappoint, as usual. The first set was a nice 3 piece and they played their first self- titled album. But, once they brought out Mark Boyce in the second set, they exploded with sound and energy. Everyone was dancing and having a blast. They played a few songs from their newest album and I will be sure to buy it in April. My love for the band has been renewed and I am back to listening to them on a regular basis.

Small venue made all seats great. Al the bands were very interactive with the crowd.

Such an amazingly talented group, absolutely LOVED and adored every single millisecond of the show! Perfect, intimate venue and INCREDIBLE local band opener, SOSOS. Overall, an unbeatable night in the south Florida live music scene, a night I will remember even when I'm 80!

We've been trying to see G Love for 15 years and always something prevented it. Finally made it to Culture Room. He is so in tune with his audience it was a love fest! He played all his first album, took a break, and returned for almost another hour. He played one song right after another and you couldn't help but dance and sing along. One thing to note: there's no seating at the Culture Room and they really pack in the crowd. We got there early and stood upstairs on the railing giving us a perfect view. If we had been on the ground floor, we would not have been able to enjoy it as much - a little claustrophobic. We would definitely do it again, given the chance.

G love is the man! Special sauce was instinct the entire night and they put on a hell of a show.

G Love was an amazing show. This was my second time seeing him, and my soul mate & I got swept away with those funky philly sexy silly blues. One of my favorite things about G Love is you can always tell he is having a fabulous time doing what he loves. His bass player is sick and the drummer throws down some nasty beats. G Love is in my top ten ever of all time, and I will never miss a chance to see him.

I enjoyed the show. I'd never really heard any G. Love before, but it was surprising how unorthodox it is. Good show, nonetheless.

Great time ! Opening band was great, swear and shake. My gf bought the cd. G love was rocking. Jamming out on the hermonica and the bass player was bad ass on bass. Shout out to the drummer wearing a pats hat. My gf also got a bottle of glove hot sauce, good ass time.

I knew going into this show that I would love it, but I had NO IDEA how amazing the show actually would be! All 3 were incredible performers - such charisma on stage and INSANE levels of talent! I'm talking chin-on-the-floor-type of talent...I was in awe. I can't wait till they're in town next!

Great performance by G Love! Amazing songs and the crowd was really into the show. The only problem was the sound quality at the state theatre. It was cranked WAY too high to hear the actual lyrics or harmonica. Those are some of the best parts of listening to G Love live, so its a shame the sound wasn't setup in a way to capture this. Next time, more volume on vocals and harmonica please!

G.Love put on a good show as usual. I loved how he had his son announce him. I wish he had played some more of his upbeat songs- some of my favorites were missing. Otherwise was a good time, fun to dance and be with friends. Such a talented band.

AMAZING! The band was so full of energy. Incredibly multitalented musicians. Garrett with his multiple guitars (the oil can made in GA), harmonica and vocals. Houseman, Jeff Clemens, on the drums tearing it up and adding his voice. Last, but certainly not least, Jimi Jazz, Jim Prescott, slappin' that bass. Looking forward to their next show in ATL.

I got the chance to see G. Love in 2010 at the Greek Theatre in Berkeley, CA with the Jack Johnson "To the Sea" Tour. I had been a huge fan of Johnson's for a while and was just begging to become aware of the other artists under his label and in his group. G. Love and Special Sauce was the opening act and e was incredible! My girlfriend and I live in Reno and have been dying to see G. Love in Tahoe since then but we were not old enough. This is the first concert where we were over 21 and allowed to get in and it was amazing. We were right up next to the stage and Garret was constantly right above us with guitar and harmonica in hand. The experience was incredible. We will definitely be going again. Can't wait to see him in Tahoe and hopefully out with Jack again soon!

I celebrated the 25th anniversary tour with my 15 year who is a lifelong fan. Seriously mother/son love and bonding.

I've been going to G. Love shows for almost 25 years now so to get this one-on-one experience was unreal. It was a private acoustic performance for about 20 of us where G Love told stories and took requests. It ended with individual photos with G and him signing any merch you wanted, including the poster and VIP pass they gave us upon arrival. So cool! I will definitely purchase this again!

The ticket time said 7:00 but the opening act didn't come on stage until 8:30. We came from out of town on a weekday. It was difficult to get there on time. Had we known the opening act wasn't coming on until 8:30 it would have made our night a lot more manageable in planning. Otherwise the show was great! This was our fourth time seeing G. Love and Special Sauce and they never disappoint.

G. Love is a great treat to catch live. They also brought along a couple brother act - The Ries Brothers- who can hold their own on the stage! Don't skip this one!

G-Love and Special Sauce ROCKED the Basement! Venue was OK, not my favorite, but the sound was good. Main thing was the G-Love is amazing, cool, and really wanted to make sure the audience had a great time and heard all the songs that they wanted. Opening act, The Bones of JR Jones was also amazing....what a great voice. Highly recommend seeing either one of these guys when given the opportunity!

I 1st seen G Love a few years ago, here where I live in Eureka, CA. I have traveled several places since then to hear him play. This show was the first time my husband joined me. G Love & Special Sauce now has an additional fan ! As usual, I totally loved hearing the band play!!!! Rock on boys!! Hope to see you in Humboldt County real soon!!!

It was my first time at Lawn on D. The place is fantastic. We had a great dinner at the Dining Car food truck and a few beers that were very reasonably priced. I though Bug Head Todd should have played first, the JJ Grey and G Love to finish. The show was awesome and sound quality was great. Parking is a little tricky but we got there early so no issues finding on street.

All three bands were amazing! Great idea to put this trio together for a summer tour. Can't recommend a better time!!!

awesome venue & 3 great bands - fun outdoor venue.

Apologies to JJ Grey and G. Love, but my wife and I were there for the most part to see BHTTM. We have seen them in DC and Pittsburgh at various times over the past 20 years and they did not disappoint. Actually, they did disappoint because we were left wanting so much more than the handful of songs they had time to perform. What we did see is what will keep us coming back for more...unbelievable skill and depth on the guitar....love the energy of this band! Wish we had more time with them and hope they will be back to Boston area soon!

The show was great! G Love and Special Sauce really performed well, lots of energy and a great set list. My brother in-law was with us and it was his first time to see G and he really enjoyed it. My only issue was with the Chameleon and not G Love. The event was all ages so the upper floors were no alcohol. But, if you don't want to be on the floor and still want to drink, this sucks especially since there were about 70 people over 21 in the upper levels and only like 5 under 21.

My first time at the duck room. I cannot believe we saw G love in a room with 200 people. He sounds like he is 20 again. It's been 15 years since I have seen him and nothing was missing. Awesome show.

I've been following G Love since his first album. I think this was my 7th concert and he's always so musical and authentic. Love him! Love the venue too - it's a commitment though to drive up from Miami, but I'll do it every time he's in town.

Can't wait to see them again!!! Great venue also!!

This is the third time I've seen him and he just gets better and better. G. Love seemed to be in a great mood and having a lot of fun. I highly recommend seeing him on this tour.
