We got to witness them in Atlanta which was phenomenal. They're charisma together as well as open and down right real performance, plus crowd skills were the best I've seen in a concert display. Pleaseee tour again, I can not wait to see it and this time we'll be front and center stage!!

When I heard that Amanda and Brian were coming back with a ten year anniversary tour, I was elated. Every time I have seen them they have not disappointed me but this show was above and beyond. The energy that they put out between the two of them is so powerful it sucks you in. The feeling of happiness and good times emitted around the whole venue. Brian is by far the best drummer I have ever seen live and his involvement with the songs make them come to life with his facial expressions and improvs while Amanda is singing. I am so glad they decided to play together again. Anyone who has the opportunity to see these two musicians should consider themselves lucky. It will be an experience you'll remember for a long time. Also, Brian and Amanda met with us and other fans out the back door in the rain. They greeted, talked to, and took pictures with all that were there waiting for them. They are not like other artist. They actually look you in the eyes and have a converstion with you, hug you, and take pictures. They care about their fans and it shows. I Love You Guy's.

Its astonishing to remember that the Dresden Dolls are just a pianist and a drummer, yet can create such beautiful music. Every note they did their bodies moved with it, it was like the music was just a part of the performance, every movement and event that happened added to the overall show for the better. Best show i have ever seen. These people were meant to be entertainers. As they play they look like they are battling against each other. Both bring such power to the stage.

The Dresden Dolls sounded better live than they do on CD! The performances were spectacular. They played my dream encore: Mein Herr, Delilah, and War Pigs. The Buckhead Theatre was beautiful and the acoustics were good. One of the best concerts I've ever attended.

I knew when I decided to go that they would be awesome, and they did not disappoint. As expected, it was an outstanding performance and just a generally fun and casual atmosphere. And they always handpick great openers (Bitter Ruin opened this show, and really surprised me with the power of their performance).

I have had the opportunity to see the Dresden Dolls many times through the years, including being present at their shows in the Roundhouse in LOndon. Each time, I try to bring someone who has never seen them so as to share the experience. For all the concerts I have seen in my time, these two performers put on a different show using the same songs and a whole host of covers- it's rarely short of amazing.

I had the wonderful opportunity to attend this show, at the very front of the stage. But that's not even where the show started. The show started outside in the bitter freezing cold where a marching band slowly assembled and played down the streets of Boston. After I was in my spot inside the marching band came back and entertained the audience until Amanda came out and introduced the more than brilliant opening act, Bitter Ruin. The two member band hailing from the United Kingdom was absolutely incredible with their presentation of their songs. The harmonies and intricate guitar playing was enough to send anyone into complete bliss. And finally, it's the Dresden Dolls turn. Perhaps this review will be a bit bias because the Dresden Dolls is my favorite band, but so be it. Their performance was so unbelievably incredible that words cannot describe the emotions that they evoked in me. Right before they performed "Sing" Amanda Palmer read the famous letter in which their album is named after, "Yes, Virginia." The atmosphere and emotions were so powerful during these few short minutes, and it is a state of being that I don't think could ever possibly be reproduced. Overall, the show was a complete success, it was nice to have Boston's band back home for a 2 night event of a lifetime.

After several years off the band returns to the road for a short trip and comes to Boston for 2 nights. Night 1 was a masive success. Amanda's parents werein attendance, her mom even heckling from the balcony much to everyone's amusement. The show was well over 2 hours, and was puncuated by several stories about the band's early days, Amanda;s failed romances and how they inspired certain songs, and just general Dolls trivia. Who knows if they wil ever tour again, but this was a full throttle hit of the band at their best, playing the material from their stellar first record and a few nice surprises sprinkled in.

Spectacular performance for the hometown crowd. It was funny, well put-together. They sounded great! I was on the floor and despite the Wilbur partitioning up the floor (my only complaint), it felt really intimate. They were obviously having fun and so were we. Pretty much what you expect from The Dresden Dolls. This one, however, was more intimate than the 2008 winter tour. I think it was just the energy. Spectacular theatricality, they fulfilled their promise to us. It was wicked cool. I'm so glad they're touring again!

The Dresden Dolls opened the show with T Rex's I was Dancing When I Was Twelve and went on to amazingly enough play til 1:30 in the morning. Every time I thought they were done, they would come back out and play more songs. The New Year's countdown was awesome. Jason Webley's Raise your Cup was so much fun. Everyone was having a blast of a time. The D-Dolls sounded incredible. Amanda F Palmer was great on piano and Brian V drummed the roof off the house.

Thinking it would be an easy walk in event, we were surprised by the line that wrapped around the block consisting of ticketholders. We thought we could endure the endless wait in the cold but realized when the doors opened that it was ONE ticket taker, checking ID's, tickets, wristbands, etc. It would take HOURS to get everyone in, and the show would be half over. So we wasted $70, and did not attend the show. We heard that Jason Webley was great and the Dresden Dolls not so.

As usual, the chemistry Amanda Palmer and Brian Viglione had was electrifying. They played all of the Dresden Doll favorites. My only complaint was that they took requests from the audience and the audience member chosen picked the slooooowest, most boring song they could think of. It was like a lullaby, which is not what I want from a concert. However, this was not the Dresden Dolls' fault so I can't really complain too much, I was just disappointed they wasted the time on a snoozer when they could have played one of their more upbeat numbers and had the audience going wild. As a random note, the Pageant's drink prices are outrageous. Pre-game or be the designated driver if you don't want to walk out of there broke.

If you only see one show this year... this is it. The Dresden Dolls always deliver a brilliant show. The music is intense and intelligent. Thought provoking and often hilarious. But the real reason to see them live is the symbiosis that exists between these two fierce talents. They seem to be seperate chambers of the same beating heart. The music flows effortlessly, seemlessly, beautifully. Amanda and Brian are a force of nature that will pull you into an alternate universe where no one is too strange and everyone is welcome. Go with it, immerse yourself, surrender to the fabulousness that is the Dresden Dolls.

This was my 8th time seeing The Dresden Dolls and while every show is better than the last, this one was by far, the best one I've seen yet. One of the biggest reasons was for the fact that they played the most diverse set list of any show I've attended. Plus, it was I think, the longest set I've ever seen them play, nearly 3 hours long. An absolutely amazing show!

Though a long-time Dresden Dolls fan, I have never seen them in concert before that night. I always loved their music, with the unique sound and lyrics, but I never truly appreciated their music until I saw them live. There wasn't much to the concert. It was simply Amanda and Brian on their respective instruments pretty much just jamming out. It wasn't intricate or complicated, but it was raw and real and definitely left me with the impression they want their fans to understand they are about the music, not flashy special effects and other things that distract from the music itself. Best part was you could see the chemistry between Amanda and Brian and why they're so successful as a non-mainstream duo. They were making each other laugh on stage and essentially would goof around on occasion, giving the audience a real perspective on how they work. And it was beautiful. I walked out of the Pageant with a new appreciation for music I've been listening to for a while now. Not only do I hear their music now. I see it, I feel it, I know it on a more personal level. I now have a connection to it that I never dreamed imaginable. And I'm glad I scraped off the bottom of my bank account so I could share this experience.

I wasn't a big Dresden Dolls fan before going to this show; pretty much went for a girl. That being said, I had a great time. The duo is incredibly talented, very entertaining, and I really appreciated that they just played music, no long monologues about merchandising, politics or what they had for breakfast that morning. The night didn't turn me into a groupie, but I would totally be OK with a selection of their songs appearing on my music player of choice. The opening band, Sleepy Kitty, rocked so hard. They have a song about The Batman ride at our local Six Flags that brought back happy memories. Those guys WILL be on said music player of choice shortly. Also, Amanda Palmer is ripped. Seriously. The Pageant is amazingly overpriced. Honestly guys, $23 for general admittance to a no name band? I get that they have some of the most dedicated fans in the world, but let's be frank and say they don't have the same draw as, well, damn near anyone on the radio. I loved the show, but those tickets were way overpriced. That goes double for the bar. $6.50 for a Guinness is highway robbery. On a tech side, mega props to the lighting and sound engineers. You guys did a fantastic job!

I went with a few friends to this performance, and we all agreed it was the best live show we've ever seen. It is hard to pick which artist to watch when they are playing--Amanda and Brian both have a theatrical history and are well aware of how to captivate and entertain an audience. There is an energy between them that is impossible not to notice, and they produce music that is nothing short of breathtaking. I would not hesitate to see them again if given the chance, and certainly hope they will continue some special occasion tours even if they don't get back together. The Buckhead Theatre is apparently recently renovated. I had never been before so couldn't say anything on that front, but they had parking outside ($10, but that's Atlanta for you--the fact that it was right outside the theater was a definite plus!), a good bar set up that kept people moving quickly, wonderful sound and an intimate feel on the main floor--I never got a chance to head up to the balcony, the show was too good to miss even a minute. Overall an amazing experience!

Best concert I have ever attended! The Dresden Dolls are one of my favorite bands and their performance was unforgettable! Not only did their music sound amazing, Amanda made it so personal the way she talked to the audience. She doesn't come off as an untouchable performer, but rather a down-to-earth, comfortable friend. Waiting in line for two hours and standing for four hours during the concert, was totally worth it!

The Dresden Dolls have an unforgettable presence and an absolutely contagious energy. Jumping from pure rock to somber ballads from across the span of all their albums, they captivate the audience with a sound and attitude that takes in hipsters and metalheads alike, and their audience has always been one of my favorite things at their shows. Even when Amanda went solo, and Brian began playing/touring with other bands, the fans continued to follow, and they were still generous and accepting. Of all things, I think that's always been what draws more and more fans to the Dolls' base: acceptance. This specific show was no less than a return to glory for the Dolls: even after three years of not playing together, they still remember the cues and (most of) the lyrics. There was only one moment when Amanda forgot the lyrics (to Girl Anachronism, early in the show), and rather than continue to stumble through, she did something she's done before: audience karaoke, pulling one person up on stage and handing them the mic, if they think they know the lyrics. Brian was on his game the whole show, acting, as per usual, as though he were in an improv troupe, not a band, and lending that rhythm so characteristic of the Dolls' music. The opening band, Lille, was somewhat cacophonous: the singer's mic was too quiet, and the bass was so loud that you could barely hear anything else, which is odd, because having gone to their MySpace band page and listening to a few of their songs, I hadn't realized that there even was a bass player in the band. When you could hear her, the vocalist had a haunting voice with tones similar to She and Him, or some singer in a smoky jazz bar. I only wish I could have heard more of her voice, and less of the bass. There was a small burlesque-like show before the opening band given by the Sirens of the South burlesque troupe. As it was an all-ages show, they couldn't go down to the pasties, but I feel they represented themselves well, with entertaining music choices and acts. The lighting was fantastic, probably improvised, and I applaud the light-guy, though I don't remember his name, and the sound for the Dolls was absolutely perfect for their sound. My only problems with the show were with the venue. First, there was the no-camera rule. Normally, for me, if there's a no-camera rule, it's not a problem, but nowhere on the website, the ticket, or the building did they post a warning of the no-camera rule, which most shows I've been to tend to have. Personally, when I drive four hours to see a show, I want to take pictures, and I don't like to hide my camera. I also don't mind no-flash policies - those are just to keep the people on stage from being bothered, and I have a relatively nice camera, so it doesn't matter as much. But to be told, after waiting in line and after theater staff have already seen me with my camera, that my camera isn't allowed in the venue because I don't want to have to sneak it in is offensive to me. And, on top of that, once I was in, I saw at least thirty or forty cameras (mostly point-and-shoot compact cameras, but there were two SLRs I saw that were obviously not official) that the staff looked at and didn't care about. The parking was poorly indicated, and I'll partly blame that on Ameripark, who apparently privately owns all the parking in that area. We parked in a Whole Foods lot and were promptly booted and charged $75 (cash or credit) because the show let out after the store was closed. The signs leading to the event parking for the venue could only be seen from the sidewalk, and on one side, there was some guy asking for $10 behind the free parking sign, and he wouldn't let us enter the lot. I'm not sure if he was there entirely legally. Otherwise, the venue was nice. It was spacious, and had a beautiful look to it, as well as having a large lobby with a well-placed bar and a good lighting system, lots of speakers, including an interesting speaker setup hanging from the ceiling at the front of the stage.

Amazing!! They kept up the energy the whole way though and def. gave me my money's worth. Plus, horray for decent priced tickets!!! Its been awhile for me lol! Only complaint is that it was a bit too long. I love em but after two songs I don't care for too much in a row, I became very aware of how late it was and how soar my voice was. I can only yell for so long lol! Amazing concert!! PS: Stop yelling "DELILAAAAH!! PLAY DEELIIIIIIIILAH!!" Its rude, they're not your slaves, and everyone knows they're going to play it anyway, so shyaddup.

The Dresden Dolls opened with cover of T-Rex's Cosmic Dancer (Amanda sang and Brian on the guitar). The song really showcased Amanda's voice and was an excellent choice to start off the show. Amanda is one of the few performers that sounds as good in person as she does on the album- she's just that damn good. They followed up with Sex Changes and Amanda finally took her place at the keyboard and Brian at the drums. Throughout the show, the spotlight focused mainly on Amanda; if it wasn't for that you would spend the entire show watching Brian play drums. I have never seen anyone throw themselves into playing the drums like that. At the end of the evening his body was red and glistening with sweat from playing so hard. They really put everything they had into "War Pigs". Overall it was simply amazing and I think people that aren't familiar with their music would be entertained just watching them play.

Brian was absolutely VIGNIFICO in Atlanta last night. He was literally in SMOKING form, as steam rose from him and his drums, and it was not FX. Brian is the only drummer (that term does not do justice to what he can do with drums) I've ever heard who can play such beautiful melodies on his skins, trading the lead back and forth with Amanda. AFP was fantastic, as to be expected; at one point doing a strip tease and baring her stockinged feet! Of course Brian followed suit. I loved the personal touch when she invited their photog (Brittany?) on stage when Amanda fluffed some of the opening words to "Girl Anachronism". Brittany did a great job with it. As a testimony to AFP's lung power, it took Brittany like 10 minutes before she was breathing normally. You guys make such an incredible team, taking the queue from each other with perfection. It is beyond great seeing you together. LONG LIVE PUNK CABARET Lille was smoking too. I felt something in me flutter every time she cast her beautiful doe eyes in my direction.

I have never before written a review, but felt I needed to with this show. I had seen Amanda Palmer twice already in 2010, and knew she would not disappoint. What I was not expecting was to have Brian to blow me away with his unforgettable drum playing and entertaining charisma. My husband had no idea what he was in for that night, as it is I, who is the music lover, but after the show, he asked me to download Amanda Palmer & Dresden Dolls onto his iPod. If this concert is anything to go by then 2011 is going to be an excellent year! NYE at the Warfield was a night I--and about 2199 others--will remember. The show started with Pomplamoose, they are great musicians as was evident when Jack sat in on Hurt with the DD; however, to this lay person's ear, they still need to work on their craft and/or rather stage presence (or it could have been that the sound man did not have them dialed in correctly). Jason Webley is awesome. It would have been fun to hear more from him and perhaps another song with DD. I missed the last time Amanda and Brian toured together by a couple of days. I have seen Amanda Alone and with Jason; perhaps it was the energy of the night but Brian and Amanda were better together, and that is saying a lot since AFP is one of the best performances ever. I have never been disappointed. For Delilah they brought out special guest Whitney Moses\u2026 I am not sure but that song seems to be made for her (literally), a shining point in a magical night. For those who were not able to go I would say next time the Dolls, or Jason, or AFP, or Brian, or Whitney, or Pomplamoose, or My Terrible Friend are within a couple hundred miles go and SUPPORT PUNK CABARET.

The Dresden Dolls put on the most amazing show you will ever seen. I have been in awe of their performance since I first saw them in 2002 in Massachusetts.

This. Show. Was. Amazing. We'd seen the Dresdon Dolls before but this smaller venue was far more conducive to an intimate dialog. Amanda and Brian were, as always, incredibly passionate. Their music is one thing - raw lyrics and stimulating rhythms behind that intense rock energy engage you. Their performance is another thing - interaction with the crowd and each other, facial expression, and improvisation mesmerize you. Their humanity is a totally separate being - the focus on community, individuality, and acceptance warm you. To anyone who's ever thought of seeing them. Do it. Just go.

There are no words for how amazing this show was. Amanda's mastery of the jazz piano and her unique vocals left me in awe. While, Brian's power house drumming, as usual, elevated the dark Burlesque Jazz to straight up punk. I have been following them since the early 2000s, and yet the element of coney island, the reunion of two musical soul mates, and war pigs, so appropriately, closing out the show gave me chills all over my body and soul.

Amazing show and amazing venue. My issue was with the VIP Meet and Greet tickets. I had meet and greet VIP tickets (advertised as Patreon only, 75 available) for $200 vs. $30 GA pit ticket. Went upstairs for the meet and greet portion for signing/photos/hang out. There were hundreds of people there. Bought my $9 coke, and got in a signing line and was told that there would be no photos with The Dresden Dolls. After 2 hours in a line we received some merch (a tote and a poster). I had already bought the super limited posted online to get it personalized. I wish I had not because I could've saved $60. Gave my poster in line to a girl who wanted it for her sick friend since I had already bought it online. After 3 1/2 hours of waiting, I wasn't close at all to even see The Dresden Dolls much less get something signed and at this point it was almost 3 am and I left. I had nothing to get signed and all I wanted was to say hello and get a quick photo.

Even though they continue to work separately, it was great to see Amanda Palmer and Brian Viglione together again. They still look and sound fantastic (not that it's been an excessively long time). There were some new tracks and covers, but they mostly stuck to the familiar, which the enthusiastic crowd was more than happy with. However, I couldn't help but feel a bit melancholy, as the band and crowd seemed to be stuck in time (which I suppose has been the appeal of the cabaret culture since the beginning, as it is a form of escape). I've also always been frustrated that they never lived up to their potential (in my opinion), but that's just me, probably.

The Dresden Dolls show in Boston was the best concert I've been to and I've seen a lot of concerts. The workers, fans, and the band were extremely friendly and welcoming. Kudos to Amanda and Brian for putting on a show to truly remember. Long live punk cabaret!

Fantastic to see a rare live performance of Pomplamoose, who we've grown to love through You-Tube and downloads. Jack is the Muppets "Animal" personified. Very fun to watch and listen to. Nataly is so sweet and lovely. This was our first exposure to Dresden Dolls (we came for Pomplamoose) and they are...unique. Fun, energetic, maybe a little too much angst for me, but I enjoyed the raw performance and the relationship with the audience.

Everything about this show was entertaining-- the opener, Pomplamoose, played an amazing set, Jason Webley put on a good show before the Dresden Dolls came on, and the Dresden Dolls rocked the house. In the interest of full disclosure, I actually really wasn't a huge fan of Amanda Palmer's vocals live, but she as an animal on piano. They played with a great energy and were really interactive with the crowd, it made for a great New Years show. They ended with a War Pigs cover (after their THIRD encore), which I was surprised at, but pleasantly so. Good show.

I discovered the Dresden Dolls after they went on hiatus, so, before this little tour, I'd never had a chance to see them live. I'd seen some live performances on the internet, and I'd gotten to see Amanda Palmer in solo performances a couple times, but I was still blown away by this concert. The Dresden Dolls, on stage, really show how amazing a band can be when everything clicks. Watching them play off one another, communicating on stage almost telepathically, is a wonderful sight to behold. Amanda once again proved herself the consumate professional when her keyboard had some technical glitches. She just kind of played/sang over it, or tossed things over to Brian for an impromptu drum solo. Then, with the issue resolved, they just merged back into the song, almost as though the whole thing had been part of the act. I've seen guitarists (in a band with three guitarists, no less) stop an entire song because his guitar was out of tune, so it was nice to see my faith in Amanda vindicated by her unflappability on stage. Everytime I've seen her, Amanda has been a very emotive performer and Brian is much the same. It's a very visceral experience watching these two people play. I've seen six-piece bands that don't seem to move as much, and both of the Dresden Dolls are pretty much rooted to their instruments (drums and keyboards don't often lend themselves to very mobile stage antics). Brian manages to be a flashy drummer, without being excessive. His range of subtlety is very impressive, and it was fantastic to finally be able to see him play these songs live. Oh, and they played for almost three hours straight, without a break. If you're a fan of the Dresden Dolls, you absolutely must see them live. If you're a fan of Amanda Palmer, you must see the Dresden Dolls live. If you don't like the Dresden Dolls, but some of your friends do and they invite you to go see them live, you should still go; they're entertaining and fun enough even for those who aren't really in to their music. And, after the show, you might just find yourself a fan afterall.

This show definitely exceeded our expectations (4 of us). We were looking for a show and since we had heard of the Dresden Dolls (and Pomplamoose) and love the Warfield we decided to go for it. None of us knew much about the Dresden Dolls but they have an incredible talent and put on a great show. This duo really puts everything into their shows. This was a New Year's Eve show and was a bit too long but I would absolutely recommend them. The accordian guy who played during the set change was a great add!

Many many many great moments from this show. Fantastic and very well played, as usual. Poor Amanda was having keyboard troubles a few times (one in particular was right during the build up of the final song, "War Pigs" which, Amanda's reaction summed it up best: "UGGGH!!! It happened at such a HORRIBLE time!" No problem though as Brian did an impromptu drum solo (he did so each time the keyboard cut out,) and as soon as the keyboard was fixed, they picked up right where they left off as if nothing happened.) Top notch. They never skipped a beat. Great crowd interaction, including many hilarious comebacks to the crowd. Mein Herr in particular was AWESOME crowd interaction. Amanda went up to the balcony and went through the crowd and Brian played guitar from the stage and got really close to the fans. Amanda even grabbed some random person's hand who was very close and taking pictures and put it on her crotch for "Now's the time to take pictures!" Random and awesome. Then, towards the end of that song, she was down in the floor section and sang for a bit on top of a platform and stage dived and was crowd surfed back to the stage to finish the song. Epic on so many levels! Another highlight was during the Beastie Boys cover... Amanda played drums! Also, their roadie poured alcohol down her throat while she was playing. Brian was on guitar and singing for that song. I can't say enough good things about this show. Everything I dreamed and much much more. The ONLY things that could have made this show better were if they played "Truce" (one of my all-time favorite Dresden Dolls songs,) "Sing" (thought they were going to play it a few times, but didn't,) and "Girl Anachronism" (just for "hits" purposes.) However, the random cover of NIN's "Hurt" and U2's "New Year's Day," and of course, their epic version of "War Pigs" more than made up for it. I was also insanely pleased to hear Amanda's "Astronaut" being played. I simply cannot praise this band enough. If you get a chance to see them, DO IT! Every single time! You will not be disappointed!

I really enjoyed both Pomplamoose and Dresden Dolls. Pomplamoose very talented up and coming band! I can see them going far.. Although, Dresden Dolls is not my style (I attended this event for my kids) I have to admit they are truly talented! It was obvious that they have a passion for art and music! Excellent performers! I only have one complaint.... The man selling the bands merchandise was quite rude, no people skills... I stood in a very long line to purchase bands' merchandise, and by the time I finally reach the counter, the guy informs me that he takes cash only! So he very coldly pointed me to the ATM machine. So I get out of line to use ATM. I get cash, ready to spend at least $50... Then I get back in line, which is now almost out the door of the building. I finally reach the counter for the 2nd time, ready to purchase merchandise, then the guy informs me that he doesn't have change!! I still can't flipping believe him! So we didn't buy anything! Poor customer service could ultimately affect the bands' sales at concerts... Just a thought.
