This was my 5th time seeing Ben Howard live. My first show was absolutely unforgettable, and had me jonesing for more! But the last two performances I've seen have been wanting for sure, and this last one just fell completely flat for me. From guitar issues on stage, to an overall lack of energy and enthusiasm from Ben and the rest of the band, all I can say is... meh. Now a few words about the opener - Daughter. These guys were AMAZING!!!

I bought these tickets months ago ecstatic that my two favorite artists were playing at the SAME concert! I came all the way from NJ to see these guys play, especially my favorite band Daughter. Not surprising, Daughter was amazing! They sounded exactly like their albums but in a good way!! No auto tune needed. I enjoyed every second of them playing and you could tell they love their fans! Ben Howard on the other hand felt very impersonal..I love his music he's my 2nd favorite artist next to Daughter of course, but something just seemed off. Almost like he didn't care that thousands of people came out to see him play.. Idk I'm just disappointed.. We left early to beat the crowd. Left during my favorite song "Keep Your Head Up" so atleast I left on a happy note. He just needs to be more personal with his approach. But I still had a good time sitting up on the grass with the surprise METEOR breaking through earths atmosphere! The biggest shooting star I've ever seen!! It was a good night :)

I have been a Ben Howard fan for years. His music has moved me through my life in a way I have never experienced before with any other artist or band. That being said this was a very important event for me and I was beyond joyed to be able to experience Ben and his mates at Radio City, they were astonishing. I have never seen a group of people play together in such a way that the music spoke so clearly for itself through the way they were not only in tune with the music but one another through the music. I genuinely feel blessed to have been able to attend this show and would recommend to absolutely anyone questioning whether it's worth the time and money to drop any other plans and go for it, they definitely will not be disappointed.

Nothing contrived about Ben Howard. His music is from the heart. When he says "thank you" to the audience, he appears to actually mean it. Maybe it is because he is still young and unspoiled by the trappings of success and fame. This was his third New york show. He played twice in the spring plus this show Wednesday night. Mercury Lounge, Bowery Ballroom and Webster Hall - in that order. He opened the show with two new songs. They were good. The rest was the debut album. So good.

Amazing voice, great music, and the venue was perfect ! Ticket price was reasonable too :) Compared to going to a huge venue such as MSG (paying $100-$500 per ticket), this setting is such a better venue (value too $27 per ticket) intimate up close and personal, sound, and sight all engaged. I found the over all experience enjoyable. I LOVE that it is all open floor (no seats) and we could dance. Everyone was friendly ! GREAT TIME ! I like this place better than Roseland Ballroom.

willy mason was a little tired, admittedly so, he just came off a flight from london where he claimed to have entertained a little crying baby the whole time. ben howard was in all honesty, one of the BEST shows i have seen in a while, and i see a lot. he was ten million times better LIVE than he is recorded which is a hard task to achieve since he's amazing in the studio if i could go to a ben howard every concert for the rest of my life, i'd do it.

Ben's magical voice and guitar are even stronger in person than recorded. Mystical lighting. His musicians, especially the young woman, are extremely talented. Their sound is so unique. This is the third time I've seen him in L.A. and he gets better and better and his fan base happily is growing here. He seems to have taken a couple of my favorite concert songs - Keep Your Head Up and Only Love - out of the setlist, but he played so many great numbers and was onstage about an hour and a half. The crowd was into the music, singing and dancing along with each number.

Ben Howard is easily the best performer I've ever seen in concert. I'm a huge fan and know all of his songs, but I was still awestruck by how impressive he is in person. He is so amazingly talented yet humble...I would go see him again 500 times. The Fonda Theater was a really cool venue too.

Legitimately the greatest show I have ever been to. I've been to countless shows at countless venues and this was on another level. Every song had a unique twist compared to the studio versions or how he has played it live previously. Have essentially been counting down the days until I can see him next (anyone have any insider info on what his status is?) I would give anything for that show to be released on DVD or something, the versions of Time is Dancing / The Fear / The Wolves were completely ridiculous, so so good.

I hope Ben Howard reads all his reviews and focuses on what he can improve, because he could really use some help in his performance. I think Ben is an amazing musician, but was not the best performer. I've been to a lot of concerts and this one by fair was extremely boring, long drawn out songs, couldn't understand him, non existent stage presence, non engaging with audience, very few hit songs played and really strange the way the band was arranged. I'm absolutely stoked on music and going to concerts, so it's hard to not please me, and I was very surprised that I wanted to leave early at this concert. Sorry Ben, but I wouldn't recommend anyone to go to one of your concerts and honestly, I'm not too excited to listen to your music much anymore. On a better note, The Greek Theater in Berkley is fantastic and I think everyone should experience it at least once! It doesn't matter where you sit, every view is amazing. I've been to this venue 3 times now and every place I've sat it truly amazing! P.s. Daughter was an amazing opening band! I hope to see them on their own tour soon!

I love the Greek theater, but I don't love Ben Howard live - the vocals were pretty terrible. I've only been to one other live show where I left early and the show did nothing to improve my impression of the artist - and the second time this happened was at the Ben Howard show on the 9th. I thought Daughter was quite good and I did love the screen behind the band for Ben Howard but what the heck was going on with his voice? a friend of mine came who hadn't listened to Ben but after some youtube and iTunes listening decided to come with me - needless to say my friend isn't going be listening to any more Ben Howard, he was so underwhelmed and said to me at one point "I wish I could actually hear his voice" All in all I was disappointed.

I never thought I would say this because I love his music so much, but Ben Howard's live performance was very disappointing. He never tried to connect with the audience, except for a quiet thank you here and there, and he changed the tempo of a lot of his songs that I love the the most. Also, if I didn't know the song he was performing, it was incredibly hard to understand what he was singing since he muffled his lyrics. His supporting band was the highlight of his show. Daughter, on the other hand, was fantastic. Although Elena was shy and soft spoken, her mannerisms and words were endearing.

I was expecting a night of happiness and amazing live music but it was much less. If you love his songs like old pine, the wolves, falton wood, only love, and other old ones then I would omd off until another tour to go see his show. He refused to connect with the crowd. He only said a few words and he seemed angry or very sad the whole time. It was a strange vibe and everyone was bored. Hopefully he'll come back to his senses for the next tour and then we should buy tickets

I was very disappointed in this show. I sat in the second mezzanine level and I could barely understand any of the lyrics Ben Howard or Daughter sang. The I trumental music was too loud it muffled the voice of the singer we came to see. Ben Howard seemed like he just came to work that day at a job he is not passionate about. He did not interact or talk to the audience or sing and perform any of his songs with any real passion. I left very very disappointed. I also wish radio city music hall would have had the big screens on so those of us not In the first row could see the performer up close.

Imagine standing next to a bell while someone bangs it incessantly. That's the way my ears felt after this concert (actually, me and my 3 friends walked out after the 5th song - we just couldn't take it any more). And it didn't end with the ears. The light show was equally painful. He had the lasers pointed out (out !?!) - towards the audience - so you were blinded through most of the show. And if that wasn't enough, the screen behind the band showed these bright, flashing images that made me and my friends nauseous. (I'm just remembering there were signs in the Radio City lobby warning people there would be flashing lights, lasers and jarring images - seriously!) As I write this I realize that - taken together - this must've been intentional. I mean why else would you have all of these jarring sensory stimuli if not to activate some kind of epileptic response ?

I really like Ben Howard's Every Kingdom album style and did not realize that the new songs are so different. Unfortunately, I don't like the new style much. I also disliked the painful flashing lights in the Radio City Music Hall aimed at the audience. Other lighting effects were great, but the bright strong flashes right into people's faces were too much! Finally, I did not like the special guest band. I was disappointed but will keep listening to Ben's older songs nevertheless!

I was disappointed in the way that Ben played his music, which sounded much different to me than the ones I'm familiar with. Now I'm not a Ben Howard groupie but I hardly recognized any of his songs that I listen to, and the acoustics of the theater didn't help. And who had the brilliant idea of pointing bright stage lights into the audience?! We spent most of the time shielding or closing our eyes and not able to watch the performers.

I love Ben and have been following him since he was introduced to the US in '09 or '10? I really love him. Alas, however, his show was sub par. Aside from the blinding lights waking us up, it was honestly quite the snooze fest. He played one upbeat song out of 10-11 total songs. I wished I had a couch. Or a bed. He sounded exactly like he does in his CDs. No mojo, no flair, just overall kind of blah and I told my friends I could have played his CD in bed with the same effect, less money and less hassle than trekking to Oakland to see his show. Sigh.

This concert was jam packed, and standing room only. The opener was very boring- all the songs sounded the same. For as long as we had to stand I wish there was no opener. Ben Howard played well but wasn't very engaging and his music selection was mostly new slow songs. To top it off the Shrine made everyone exit through the back doors so we felt like a herd of cattle slowly being ushered outside when all we wanted was to give our aching feet a break.

I absolutely love Ben Howard, I have supported him for many years and couldn't wait for this concert. The venue was nice, staff was friendly, but the overall concert was something you would want to sit down and enjoy, not wrestle other fans for standing room. I was upset at Ben because he didn't play one of his biggest songs, "keep your head up". Although, he did play all his other hits, that song was what everyone in the crowd was waiting for and the crowd was certainly upset when he departed after his last song of the night.

Was in awe of this man's talent and passion. He was obvious about connecting with the audience with his music-really admired that he didn't chatter too much. Great concert experience. The second time I saw Ben Howard perform live, and he was incredible again. I will always try to catch his live shows and highly recommend them. I'm also a big fan of India Bourne. Had a lot of fun.

He played for maybe an hour and half. Probably less. People pay good $ and this guy plays a set for less than 90 minutes. They walked off stage and my wife and I looked at each other bewilderingly as if it was impossible for this guy to be doing his curtain call this early in the set.
