Maysa NEVER disappoints. She has so much talent. Such a beautiful soul. I love how she interacts with the audience and opens up about the meaning behind her music. It just draws you in closer. She did a wonderful medley of a bunch of old school music that brought back great memories. It was so much fun singing along to that. The entire audience was jamming and singing in their seats. It was my husbands first time seeing her and she didn't disappoint at all. He's a fan for sure.

Let me begin by saying that this was my first Maysa experience, and I can honestly say that I'M HOOKED! Her vocals were outstanding. She has great range and tonal quality. She included real-life stories interspersed in her songs that gave the audience more insight into the person. She has a wonderful sense of humor, of which I appreciated. You can feel that she has a very warm and inviting personality and loves her fans. She even prepared little goody bags of sweets for everyone in attendance! WHO DOES THAT? That was a welcomed surprise, since I was famished! She sang for an unprecedented 3 1/2 hours, and the crowd felt her love and gave it right back! Maysa is a magnificent talent, and I would not hesitate to see her again!

The ladies came out in force under under this big white tent in Chene Park. Must have been 6,000 people, and 5,000 of them were women, and they came to hear Gary Taylor. They knew all hs songs, sang along and didn't want to let the brother leave the stage. My first time hearing him in person. His band was tight. I was just there visiting my cousin. It was a great concert. Just being there in an atmosphere of love with brothers and sisters in Detroit. It was all love. It's what you love about Detroit and summertime.

I have never seen Gary Taylor in concert, but he performed very well and would love to see him again. Maysa was in rare form as I expected she never disappoints you and her voice is so powerful and commanding. She song a lot of old school songs from different artist like Maze, Norman Connors and performed them very well. I just loved the whole concert.

Maysa finally captured the audience 10 minutes into the end of her performance. In addition to the performance the sound board people didn't realize that the snare drum on the trap set wasn't even turned up until the last two songs of the night. Very dissappointed.

The theater itself was very historical and cool. Very Kansas City. Maysa was amazing. She is just so talented. Her style is very original (jazz, soul, skat) and she has maintained who she is as an artist for many years. Bilal, well he was another story. Most people I assume, were there to see him perform. He is also a very talented artist, but doesn't put on a very good show. His behavior on stage is very erratic and definitely unforgetable. Crowds were filing out by his 2nd song. His ability to sing in every octave doesn't always lend to the best renditions of his songs, and many people became bored and auditorically drained. However, he's definitely soulful, and if you're looking for a blues set, this is your man!

My husband introduced me to her music back in the late 90's. I have been a fan ever since. This was a special Christmas gift for him, since he missed her each time she was in town last year. This was his first time seeing her, so I was totally surprised when I asked him how he enjoyed the show. His response was, "This is the "BEST" concert "EVER"!!!! We have gone to all sorts of concerts since 1995, but this is the first time he has ever sais this about anyone. We will definitely see her again "SOON"!!!! MAYSA, WE LOVE YOU!!!!

I've seen Maysa several times over the years. Honestly, she's a fantastic vocalist and it's hard for her to have a "bad" show. That being said, I really enjoyed her at the Birchmere because it's a more intimate setting. There's not a bad seat in the house literally. She performed without a break for over 2.5 hours flawlessly! Can't wait until she comes through again!

my husband and I saw Maysa on our first date and again on our first anniversary. Simply amazing!!!!!! I could see Maysa a million times and never would tire of seeing her. She is soooooo talented and personable and down to earth and the list goes on and on. She passed out medium size posters with all her CD covers before the show started. After the show, she came out and signed each and everyone and took pictures. Just amazing!!!!!!

Maysa and Lonnie were absolutely breathtaking. I was not prepared for the performances they gave to us. I don't know if it was because they were back on MSU's campus because they put their entire soul into their performance. Very average show if you enjoy Maysa's music and thus was your 1st live experience you would be very disappointed. She spent more time on playing other artists song than her own. Band sounded ok but did not seem very interested that night just went through the motions. Alex Bugnon seemed more scripted like he had somewhere else to be but he sounded good. Overall an average show but I expected more from a show at Chene Park it felt more like a free show in the park

I'm a new Maysa fan. When I heard she would be at the Berks Jazz Festival a couple of months ago, I just had to go. That wasn't enough Maysa for me, so I started searching for any upcoming concerts. I drove from New Jersey to the Birchmere in Alexandria, VA and what a show! Maysa did not disappoint!! She sang non-stop for just over 3 hours and she was FLAWLESS!! Beautiful inside and outside, I can't wait to attend another Maysa concert! (And she had cute, individual bags of a variety of candy for each attendee- how thoughtful and sweet!) It was a memorable night and I'm ready for my next Maysa concert!

I have seen Maysa at the birchmere at least eight times, if not more. This show was, by far, her best show ever!! She started at 7:30 pm. and SANG UNTIL 10:45 PM.!!! Yes, over three hours straight. And she sang everything from her own hits to love songs, to R&B, to jazz, to old school dance songs. It was my birthday and she truly made my birthday celebration one I will never forget! Thank you Maysa!

Having the luxury of seeing these folks by the river @ the park with Zonjic and other various arenas, sometimes barefoot/boots makes 4 harmonious seasons. Najee introduced a new player to the game of Sax. Alto Richards R. Handled the business. Poetry in motion and the best of songs held us down. 7course Sunday buffet laid out the vast majority of us. Maysa from wonderland to wonderful stays true to her craft. Strong vocals and backup crew showed foundation/constitution.. Good yolk. Lots of ole school, and disco covers. The concert was truly Unforgettable. Najee put on a great performance as well as Maysa, there was even a local artist performing from my hometown by the name of Riley Richards he's a saxophonist and he's unbelievable. The Soundboard at MotorCity Casino is a great venue the acoustics and everything else was awesome. We traveled from Cleveland Ohio to attend the concert. I highly recommend attending a concert at the Soundboard Lounge at MotorCity Casino.

Maysa sings songs about people and events in her personal life. She makes her audience feel exactly what she was feeling at the time. Joy, pain, heart ache, triumph or pure jubilation. She can make you cry, jump for joy, reminisce, and dance you booty off. She is one of only 2 female singers that my husband and I go see each and every time they come to town, but the Birchmere is the best venue to enjoy her beautiful vocals. Oh, and let's not forget her band....top notch!! You can sing your behind off, but if your band sucks, it takes away from your performance. Maysa and her band are a match made in heaven!

They pack people in lime sardines. Really unpleasant. Food was good, but really expensive. I've been to BB Kings before and it just seems worse now.

While Maysa is a fantastic vocalist, my fiance and I did not enjoy the show much. We thought that she would sing some of her songs with incognito, which she did not nor did she sing her latest song that she has with Phil Perry Last chance for love, although Phil Perry was not there it would have been nice to have someone else sing his part. nor did she sing the song she made with Will Downing I did not like the R & B songs that she sung from other artists, overall It was a night out and nothing special I will not see her again unless she is with incognito. The Venu BB Kings was ok except for the person in front of me with the huge head difficult to see the show.

Me and my fiancé had a great time at the show. Maysa sound awesome! I really wish they would have had two shows since the first show was so crowded standing room only. I can't wait for the next show in this area again. We will definitely attend. Awesome show, vocals and the band was great!

This show had me in awe from the moment she started singing. She engages the audience and makes you feel as though she is singing directly to you... You become oblivious to the crowd and enthralled with Maysa.

Phenomenal Performance! The venue needs to improve on their seating. You pay for VIP Seats and squeezed into one another, truly uncomfortable. Only way to get a booth is 4 or more. Maybe consider having more shows and stop packing people like animals.

Maysa was perfect and band was great. Went from a nice concert to old school party back to love songs and great vocals. Dawn ? was amazing her voice is one of the best I have ever heard. Karen ? was awesome as well. Maysa stated that normally she has different band, strings and some regulars were sick, replacements did great

Maysa's show was wonderful except the party tunes at the end of her show. For a lover's holiday, I would have expected a closing more equivalent to tune for lovers -- Somebody Loves You Girl/Delfonics, any Will Downing song, etc. But, an exceptional show none the less.

Maysa was great. She performed as she does. There were so many people intoxicated. They oversold the show. We paid for seating and ended up standing. After an hour and a half if standing we left...it was a bad way to spend VALENTINES DAY.

Oh My... Maysa performed for 3 hours. This was the First time i saw her Live and it was well worth the wait. The Venue, Birchmere was perfect as well as the service and food. I will see here again when she is in the DMV area. Love HER!!!

Man, oh man!! Maysa DELIVERED!!! This is my first time seeing her & I was so at a loss for words! She delivered jazz, r&b, soul, oldies and sung all my favorites by her! When I tell you that she BROUGHT IT with Deep Waters.....she BROUGHT IT!!! This was definitely money well spent & I will definitely pay to see her again!!!
