Judas Priest

British heavy metal powerhouse Judas Priest has released 22 albums over four decades. They laid much of the groundwork for the heavy music of the 80s with their two guitar attack of revved up blues-based riffs They continue to tour, treating metal fans to extravagant live shows and spirited renditions of their unmistakable anthems. Ticket holders are sure to get to a concert early because they don't want to miss Singer Rob Halford's stage entrance. He emerges from a cloud of fog riding on a Harley Davidson, clad head to toe in leather-studded S&M gear.

Took my adult kids to their first heavy metal concert--we had an awesome time together, and are thinking of making this an annual tradition. Judas Priest met all expectations as a premier and legendary band--it's amazing how well they've held up over the decades! While the energy was great, the volume was excessive (be sure to bring ear plugs next time). What likely was missed by most at the concert was the great social critique on industrialized nations trashing the environment...this came during their song "You've Got Another Thing Comin'." Saxon as a warm-up to JP was also good; I'm afraid I'd pass on Black Star Rising, though.

It was a night of pure metal magic. The gods were in full form with a perfect set list and a incredible stage design. They played songs that spanned their long career and even dusted off the classic Tyrant just for San Antonio fans. It was glorious! Saxon and Black Star Riders were the perfect choices to open the show and set the tone for the night to come. If you get a chance, buy your tickets and prepare for glory!

Whitesnake was awesome!! This was the first time I ever saw them live. They played all of their classics and had the audience head banging till the end. David Coverdale as well as Rob Halford were able to produce ear-piercing screams and still hit many of the high notes they used to in their younger days. Last night was the second time I saw Priest. They started out playing many classics (Metal Gods, Breaking the Law, Livin' After Midnight, etc...), then the show took a on a more theatrical feel. I was actually getting bored at this point. Fortunately, they ended the show with more classic music. Also unusual was when Rob Halford sang some notes and then had the audience repeat them back. This went on for quite a while. Not what I expected from the kings of metal. The audience also did alot of singing. I would have liked to have heard Rob Halford do more (maybe he had a sore throat or something!). Another disappointment - no encore! I would have thought that for a headlining band, an encore was a given. I was shocked when the house lights came on and the band never returned to the stage. Laser show was great! Comparing last night to 4 years ago? They put on a better show four years ago. It is still worth the money to go, because they are one hell of a group of incredible musicians that can still blow the roof off, even in their 50's!!

Priest was amazing. Rob Halford can still belt out those high notes like crazy. Was awesome that they plyed the entire British Steel album. Would highly reccommend to any metalhead, but for Preist fans, you gotta go.. Luckily I had 12th row seats nesr the ailse, and the CMAC center is a great place to see a show.

I've seen a lot of Preist shows and this one ranks as one of the best. Whitesnake was mediocre. Priest blew them off the stage. I thought going into the show that I would see a decline in Priest due to their age and continuous touring. Boy was I wrong. I know this sounds crazy but I've seen them since the late '70's and I rate this show as one of their best. They were so tight musically that they gave me goosebumps. The mix was so perfect it was if I was listening to a cd. Rob's voice was spot on and KK and Glen's guitars were searing. They were like a well oiled locomotive coming at you on every song. They played all the favorites, a few from the latest cd and some deep album cuts too. HAIL TO THE PRIEST!

Judas Priest was back with a vengence when they came to the upstate area playing their classic metal and 30's anniversary cd, British Steel. Halford didn't loose his touch as he belted out song after song with vocals of his younger years. The rest of the band was so tight, you didn't know if it was live or studio recording. Glenn and KK showed their magic as they were performing "Victim of Changes". a trademark of the two pro's made to look easy as they were in perfect sinc. Judas Priest has paid there dues and haven't lost a step with the young and old to show why they are the undisputed Metal Gods.

Incredible performance by the band. Great set. Sound was tight. Andy is doing a great job filling in. Glenn made an appearance for the encore set, first of this tour. I celebrate the fact the band did not cancel tour due to Glenn's public announcement about parkinson's disease. I seen the band 20 something times LIVE since 1979. With Ritchie and Andy on guitar it reminds me a lot of when KK and Glenn were younger rippers on guitar.. just incredible. That is why I say best performance in 10 years. Saxon was OK - loved Prince of the Night. Had to skip BSR - talked about the roof of our house that needs replacement due to the recent storms. JUDAS PRIEST !!! I got there early and did the Grammy museum before the show . .. not bad but pricey.

The Priest is BACK! They did a couple of songs from the new album and enough old songs to get through a 1 hour-45 minute set. Kind of short, I know, but it was good. They played Firepower, Running Wild, Grinder, The Sinner, Ripper, Bloodstone, Electric Eye, Turbo Lover, You ve Got Another Thing Coming and a few more. Their set was the loudest and best sounding of the 3 bands but the sound at the new Nassau Coliseum (Uniondale, L.I., NY) stinks! It s like you re listening to a muffled show, like a YouTube video on your iPad. So image how crappy Saxon and Black Star Riders sounded, who didn t get the full amps cranking. BSR came on promptly at 7 and played about 40 minutes. They also played 2 Thin Lizzy songs, Whiskey in the Jar and Jailbreak. Saxon played for about an hour. They played Motorcycle Man, Dallas 1pm, Denim & Leather and other great songs. No complaints about the show except for the sound system.

What a show! Rob's voice is still hitting those notes. Been a fan 40+ years and will be until I die. Setlist was great, but no Victim of Changes or Beyond The Realms of Death. Saints in Hell was new to the list and worth the wait. If you've never seen Priest, go while you still can. AND pick up Firepower...it'll blow you away.

No, they are not a Christian rock band, but they connect beyond the realms of death. The show was really great and the audience was totally into it. This was the first show on their new Firepower tour and they were ready to rock! If you get a chance to see them on this tour, do it! Their new album is really quite good and they played three tracks off of it, Firepower, Lightning Strike, and I think No Surrender. They had a few from the archive: Ripper, Grinder, and Saints in Hell, which they claim was the first time they had ever done live. Had an interesting graphic display video for all the songs, which was a nice change from the typical video screen of the band playing. The graphics on Saints in Hell were pretty eerie, the things nightmares are made of. Of course they finished up with classics like Hell Bent for Leather, Another Thing Coming, and Living After Midnight. Sound was pretty good in the arena (though it was bad for the first act) and Rob's voice is as strong as ever. The only sad thing is that Glenn Tipton is not on the tour. You may have heard he is suffering from Parkinson's and decided not go out on tour. He was filled in by Andy Sneap, one of the producers of Firepower, and he was more than up to the task. Richie Faulkner continues to impress and should carry on in the years to come. Priest is back!

The priest put on an amazing performance. They played all their hits Turbo lover, breaking the law, desert plains, screaming for vengeance, painkiller, living after midnight, material from their new album redeemer of souls and the best part the harley comes out with on the hell bent for leather song. Rob Halford can still his lungs out like back in the days, especially on screaming for vengeance song. I heard Ian on the Eddie Trunk show say that they were off for a few days then doing a show in Fresno, Ca. I looked it up and scored front row tickets to the show. It was in a very nice theater in downtown Fresno with seating for the whole audience. (Not that anyone used it). I have seed the mighty Priest 13 times prior to this show, but always in big venues where you get very little movement in the crowd and are stuck usually watching one side of the stage or the other. This time I was right there! Glenn Tipton playing Beyond The Realms 3 feet in front of me was a flat unbelievable! All the guys were rested andlaying it down to the T. Awesome show and I'd do it again tonight if I could.. The experience is burned into my brain permanently, and I love it!!!! Great band, Faulkner included!! Great!!

I am so very glad that my two boys FINALLY got to see this amazing heavy metal band. I started listening to the Priest back in 1978, and in fact saw their second appearance here in the United States in the Sam Houston Coliseum in Houston Texas. I have seen Judas Priest probably more than any other band, with the exception of RUSH maybe. My kids, especially my oldest has become a HUGE Priest fan since I introduced them to this band. It was so gratifying to see just how much they both enjoyed the show in Sugarland TX. this past Sunday night. I fear that this will be the only time they will ever get to see this band however. The show on Sunday night was the night after the Dallas show and Rob was having a really hard time singing and hitting notes. There were many times that he disappeared and went behind the curtain, and it was not just for a costume change. The crowd had to do a lot of the singing for Rob, as he just could not sing too much this night. I think at age 66, he is doing one hell of a job though and I give him the upmost credit for attacking back to back nights of singing heavy metal. I do think that the Sugarland TX show suffered greatly as a result of them doing back to back nights without a rest. This being said, and regardless of this fact, this show was one of the very best simply because my two kids had an awesome time and I so much enjoyed seeing the smiles on their faces and watching them rock out. It was so good to see Glenn Tipton as well! It made our night! Keep rocking as long as you possibly can guys! We love you!!!!!! Thank you for a great show as always and good luck on the rest of your tour! Love the new album as well!

Judas Priest brought it to the BOK Center the other night. The show was spectacular! Ritchie and Andy did a fantastic job on guitars. Rob was still nailing those vocals, which is no easy task! Ian and Scott holding down the rhythm as always! They plowed through old hits, new hits, and everything in between! I believe that was the first time I heard Saints In Hell live! It was awesome! They could play the whole Stained Class album for all I care,it s fantastic! There is no doubt about getting your moneys worth! I would recommend this show to anyone who wants to see a classic metal band in action! Priest still rocking it like they did 40 years ago! Then to top it off, Glenn Tipton came out and did the last 3 songs with them! OMG! Just when I thought they couldn t top it off, there s Glenn!! A fitting tribute to such a metal riffing pioneer! Rob Halford can still hit those notes and rocked the place. Guitarist Richie Faulkner was very entertaining and F-ing killed it on those riffs! Saxon kicked ass and I'm now a fan! I absolutely recommend everyone see Judas Priest in concert whenever you can.

Judas Priest was awesome as always...which was great considering both Lead Guitarists Glenn Tipton and KK Downing have retired....Replacements Richie Faulkner and Andy Sneap are real Firepower guitarists...Ian Hill and Scott Travis are rock solid as ever....Rob Halford... the Metal God...is singing awesome....they played songs from the past...and songs from the new Firepower cd....Firepower is as awesome as the Painkiller cd.....get it and see for yourself Saxon got the crowd fired up with songs from their new cd Thunderbolt and a bunch of Classic Saxon songs....Doug Scarratt and Paul Quinn are awesome gutarists...Biff Blyford kept the crowd rocking....Saxon's last 3 studio albums have been killer...you got to get them... Black Star Riders opened the show...they let the crowd know that The Boys Are Back in Town...This is a must see concert...One of the best shows of the year....

The Mighty Priest delivered the goods as usual. Richie has really reinvigorated the band. Halford's vocals are still great. Andy has stepped in for Glenn graciously but does not try to "overstep his bounds". Ian and Scott held the rhythm as they can only do. Don't miss the Firepower tour! Saxon and Black Star Riders sounded great and rounded the bill out quite nicely.

Awesome show, both Saxon and Priest are bringing the metal. Biff sounds amazing, like we never left the 80s. One bitch, they only did a portion of Denim and Leather. Priest s setlist was great, Saints in Hell was the bomb, wish they d done Desert Plains or dig way back and do Rocka Rolla. I would go again in a heartbeat

This is the 5th time I saw Mr. Halford in action. 3 with Judas Priest and 1 with Fight wasnt' enough, and I'm positive it will be a 6th. But this time was different, The voice of Rob Halford was incredible, he reminded me the Painkiller days. The band was precise as allways. The scene was fair. No elevators or fancy decorations. The downside of the show, some classic songs weren't at the set list, such as Painkiller, The helion/ Electric Eye or Touch of evil neither songs from Angel of retribution or Nostradamus.... The old school Judas was performing.

The mighty Judas Priest are back and sounding better than ever. Richie Faulkner has brought a fresh new intensity to the band and his musicianship and showmanship are top notch. Any true fan of metal would be hard pressed to find any fault with the performance. If you're a fan of metal, just 2 words for ya, PRIEST ROCKS! Go see this tour, you will not be disappointed.

Judas Priest delivered an incredible show. The band's interaction with the audience throughout the show was impressive. The lighting and video backdrop behind the band was top notch. Rob Halford's voice was in top form, he really is a "Metal God". Even in his 60s, Rob has little to no competition in the Heavy Metal world. To see this band at a smaller venue was a humbling experience. Glenn Tipton and Richie Faulkner pulled out all of the stops, played the songs to perfection and then offered even more guitar prowess. Ian Hill and Scott Travis kept the rhythm section solid. One of the best, if not the best Judas Priest shows I have even seen. Steel Panther opened and they brought their rare comedic and rock formula to this event. SP converted even the most resistant rockers to their brand of entertainment. I found myself laughing at their well delivered "one liners" and enjoying their great rock show. The Hard Rock Live Venue: Full theme park pricing in effect. Once you get past that you will be fine. $17 to park (after 6PM) for a Florida resident for this event due to Halloween Horror nights. Draft beer was $13. I would recommend visiting the Nascar Cafe prior to the show to enjoy a few adult beverages without breaking the bank.

I was quite amazed at how small the crowd was at this venue. However, that did not stop Priest from rocking the place. Rob Halford sounded excellend and appearred to be very energized compared to last time I saw them a few years ago. The video and light show was not overwhelming but played exactly into the theme of the song they were playing.

I took my 8 year old son to his 2nd Priest concert and he had a blast. Priest has been his favorite band since he 1st heard British Steel when he was 5. We saw them on the Epitaph Tour a couple years ago and he was the only younger fan we saw. This time it was cool to see about a dozen or so younger fans just like him at the show. Metal is definitely in the blood. It's cool to see generations of fans enjoying the band. The bottom line is if you love Judas Priest or even classic metal they are still the best. Yes Halford can still hit all the screams. Ian Hill still drives the Priest Train with his bass. Scott Travis is simply one of, if not the best rock/metal drummer out there. Glenn Tipton is always on point. Now I'm a bit of a purist, and when I'd heard they'd replaced K.K. Downing a couple years ago I was disappointed, but Richie Faulkner saved this band. He has brought an energy back to the band that K.K. himself said was lacking. The guy shreds, and you can see the rest of the band feed off of it. The set list was a little different this time around, they of course featured the new stuff from Redeemer of Souls (Dragonaut & Redeemer of Souls were both very cool live). They also did a few songs from Defenders of the Faith in celebration of it's 30th anniversary (the title track and Jawbreaker hadn't been done since the 80's from what I've read). For the more casual fan the classics are all there, Living After Midnight, Breaking the Law, You've Got Another Thing Coming. The only bummer was the lack of a couple favorites specifically Painkiller & Electric Eye missing both stood out. They also didn't play anything from Angel of Retribution which was a bit of a surprise. But the inclusion of Devil's Child was awesome. I've always loved that song and it was great live. We were fortunate enough to meet The Metal God this past summer, and he set us up with Aftershow passes. I must say there is no cooler person on the planet than Rob Halford. Thanks to him for taking the time with my son. You definitely live up to your nickname. Truly a class act that gets the importance of the fans. Refreshing in today's "ME,ME,ME,LOOK WHAT I DID" music industry. He always says during the show "The Priest is BACK!" let's hope they never go away.
