Concert rule #1: Always show up in time for the opening act. we saw Kasabian second on a bill opening for Oasis at the Hollywood Bowl and they prove the rule. It should be noted that Jet opened that show and kind of disproved that rule, but.. Kasabian! Since seeing them by accident we've been wanting to see them on purpose. Their presence and music are what great Britpop concerts are made of. And the second time didn't disappoint! Even though they may be virtually unknown by Americans (the Wiltern show wasn't sold out), since we last saw them them have gone on to become a sensation abroad. They play arenas and even headlined Glastonbury. so, getting the chance to see them in an intimate venue was a treat. Unlike superstar dinosaur bands, there's really only one "perfect" set a Kasabian fan could hope for... and they played it! Brilliantly! Amazing musicianship and showmanship. If they would have played two nights, we'd have been back the second night. I only have two tips: for the audience; get to know the music. It's great hooky pop. And for the band, Mike the lead singer kept doing that kind of licking the "V" of his fingers in a way that suggests performing oral sex on a woman. It was completely incongruous with the otherwise god-natured fun of the show. It was actually kind of baffling, but certainly no reason not to enjoy other 99.99% of the show! Oh, the opening act was The Slaves, a weird punk duo in which one guy plays old school punk guitar while the other guys "sings" and beats two floor mounted drums and two symbols. It was VERY entertaining, but a little too heaving on trashy stuff and light on their authentically-conjured classic punk sound

Awesome show at Terminal 5. Kasabian were riveting and full of energy on stage. The band were not pretentious as they are in interviews and seemed like they stripped down the show to reveal just raw music without any major light effects or moving images.

I have always been a fan of Kasabians...but this current tour is absolutely incredible!!! We don't even realize how lucky we are - check out the venue sizes they're palying in Europe - then look at the US tour venues...see them in these intimate venues while you can...their show and showmanship is energetic and engaging - and their music is quite simply phenomenal!!!!!!!!!!

Kasabian truly rocks with tons of energy. The band was great, but Center Stage in Atlanta had a lot to be desired. I saw this show in Dallas TX and the staff were wonderful, which was a stark contrast to the staff (security) at Center Stage. I personally didn't have a problem, I just saw them overreact to kids simply having fun. This is a MUST SEE band. I drove 10 hours to see them and I would do it again.

I've wanted to see Kasabian since I first learned about them in 2009 (I know-I was late to the party...) and I missed seeing them in Paris by a couple of days so I was THRILLED when I saw they were headed to Dallas. They did a great job of getting the small but appreciative and ready to rock crowd going. They seemed to appreciate the energy even if it wasn't a packed house. Tom and Sergio sounded amazing. I am always excited when the band sounds as good as or better than their recordings and I wasn't disappointed. I had a great time during the concert but the three encore songs did me in! They were SO high energy and "Vlad", (which is my alarm song!) and "Fire" were CRAZY brilliant! I was afraid I wouldn't be able to walk the next day because I was jumping around so much. All In all it was GREAT! I highly recommend this show.

This is a band who just sold out 2 nights at London s O2 area (20,000 seat venue), yet the US is fortunate enough to see them in a small intimate venue such as the South Side Music Hall. Kasabian put on a great show. Sound was amazing, you could feel every beat, loud yet clear. Excellent light show and audience interaction from the band. Go see other bands at the South Side Music Hall, it s a great venue and go see Kasabian on this tour before they come back to the US playing larger venues with higher ticket prices. Body Surfing is optional. If in doubt view their YouTube video of the London O2 Concert. All this for a $20 ticket+ ticketmaster fees. Well done to Kasabian for playing a small venue with a small audience as if it s the most important gig of their life.

I really despise arena shows. After years of going to concerts, I like to be up close & personal. It appears that Kasabian plays some pretty damn huge shows in the UK. I was excited to see them at an intimate club show in Boston (The Paradise). The Paradise is a great place for seeing shows. Yeah, it has those stupid sight-line blocking poles, but it is also a pretty small venue with respectable acoustics. So seeing Kasabian there was awesome. Great show. Serge had a tail pinned on to his butt (um, not sure what was up with that but rock on, brother). Their drummer is a damned beast, loved him. Rest of the band was incredible, also. They played all the hits (except for "Reason is Treason" which I was a bit bummed about), plus a snippet of Fat Boy Slim's "Praise You" which segued into "LSF". Tom Meighan has quite a strong voice live though his stage presence is just a tad lame. They played a handful of songs from the new album & they sounded incredible.

Kasabian are huge in Europe and kinda sorta seem to be getting traction in the U.S. I discovered Kasabian about 4 years ago and have tried to spread the Kasabian love. This is my 4th time seeing them and I can't think of another act I have enjoyed seeing more. Of course, these guys are a massive band. They are used to playing to MASSIVE crowds, so part of the enjoyment is getting to see them in such small venues here in the US. They played to the 900 of us in Boston as tho they were headlining Reading. If you can see Kasabian live in the US in a small venue, do yourself a favor and do it. It's only a matter of time before these guys go legit in the States and gone will be the days of their small club-gigs. Wait, on second thought, no one should go see Kasabian!

Amazing show! Lead singer was so sexy and interactive, loved his style and swagger always involving the crowed! LOVED HIM! And the band sounded totally on key except that the sound system was way too loud and speakers should never be on the general admin ground floor, they should be higher\u2026it loses its sound because its too loud, and I love loud and for me to say that is unreal\u2026 Maybe reconsider the logistics of the sound system.

I first saw Kasabian when they played at The Hollywood Bowl opening for Oasis. Their sound and performance resonated with me immediately and I became a fan. This particular show at The fonda was even better because of the intimate venue. Kasabian is the real deal. They put a tremendous amount of energy into their performance and If you are fortunate enought to have an opportunity to experience them live, you will leave a bigger fan. No gimmicks with this band, they play hard. We brought along a few friends who were experiencing the band and their music for the first time and now they are fans as well. Don't miss Kasabian.

The show was great even though the crowd was more willing to watch than go crazy, but Sergio changed all that. I've waited four years to see Kasabian and they were great in spite of an arrogance they displayed, turn off. The one complaint I have and I really loved the show, was that the mixing was bad, I could not hear Sergio"s guitar hardly at all, except when he used the Rickenbacker. I do not understand how the mixers do not hear such an obvious thing. Place was great, did get hot on the floor and everyone wanted water at the bar afterwards but the guy said four bucks.

Kasabian is not as well known in the U.S. as it is in the U.K., but that is just an advantage to the U.S.fans. Putting such a big band in such a small space like the Fonda (The Music Box) was amazing. You could feel the great music in your bones. As usual Kasabian put on a wonderful show, both musically and visually. Tom was his megalomaniacal self and Serge was beyond great. The show was fantastic and I wished it didn't end when they got off stage for the final time. Serge sang Take Aim and his voice is high and lovely, I could listen to him singing anything! I do wish they had done West Ryder Silver Bullet with Rosario Dawson or someone else. I really do like that song. The bass on their songs always thrills me. Overall a really great show!! And I would go again when they come back. The Dear Hunter, the opening act, was musically interesting, but to me, the songs were very similar. The singer was hard to hear, he may have sung too low or the mic may not have been set properly. They sounded good, but lacked showmanship. They are not likely to be a band I would listen to often.

I LOVE the Fonda Theatre, aka The Music Box. Small venue with great sound, and nice atmosphere. It was a pretty packed show so it was a bit hot and humid in there. Would be nice if the Fonda can figure out a better cooling/air circulation system. Kasabian played great, around the end of the show they tried to get everyone to kneel down like Slipknot does...I wasn't having it. The Lead singer also got a little crazy flashing gang signs for some punk reason. Other than that it was a ton of fun and they played great and the crowd was into it.

I was pissed off to hear the week before the concert that it had been moved outside. Just because the sun had been out the week before does not mean that it can't snow in April around here. After years of playing large stadiums and festivals in Europe, Kasabian has crafted their live show to near perfection. Seeing them in a small club has its advantages, because one actually gets to see just how tight and professional they are, without the aid of a video display. Unfortunately their bombastic live show wasn't truly embraced by the often reserved Boston crowd. Only towards the encore did the crowd come alive. Still, it was a rare treat to see Kasabian Stateside. A proper rock show if there ever was one.

Only negative for me was Drunk-And-Disorderly who kept leaping in people's faces looking for a fight. On to the music, I had watched Kasabian perform in London on New Year's Eve (it streamed live on YouTube) and they really rocked the O2 Arena, but even that seemed like nothing compared to actually watching them do their thing in the flesh. Was a bit disappointed with the end of "Re-Wired" though: I had hoped they'd actually have violinists present as they did in London. All in all, a great performance, and when their NYC performance streamed live on YouTube 5/6 days later, I did not miss it.

I've been a massive fan of Kasabian since their first album was released back in 2004. Ever since then I have longed to see them live, and was terribly impatient for them to tour in the States. Well, I finally got the chance to see them at the TLA in Philadelphia, and the nearly 8 year wait was definitely worth it! They played a great mix of songs from their catalog, had great crowd rapport, and the energy was fantastic! I haven't been that worn out and sweaty from dancing and jumping around at a show in ages...and I go to a lot of shows. The gig was just as amazing as I could've hoped for, and I can't wait to see them again...let's just make sure it doesn't take another 8 years, eh!

This was simply the best show I have ever been to. Their music is distinctive and just rocks the whole place. The energy from Tom, Sergio, Chris, Ian, and Jay was tremendous. The crowd loved them and fed the energy back. It seemed like it was over too quickly, but that just meant I was having too much fun. I just don't see why the folks here in the states don't seem to know who they are when they are so huge in Europe and the UK. Everyone that I introduce them to loves their music and become fans, they just have never been introduced prior. The show rocks big time. If you have the opportunity to see them, you won't regret it. My brother and I have always said that we would move mountains to see Kasabian if they ever came to Chicago. We could not believe that we would have the chance to see them at House of Blues. Kasabian live sets are always played with such enthusiasm and musicianship. It was wonderful to see them go through old favourites as well as some new material from from 48:13. However, the venue itself - The Sound Academy - may possibly have the worst acoustics on the planet. Seriously, Sound Academy... it wouldn't hurt for you to place some sound dampners on the walls! The venue is the only reason I can't rate 5 stars. Can't wait for Kasabian to come back... hopefully they will choose a better venue to showcase their awesome talent.

My first thought was that Kasabian at Terminal 5 was quite good. Then I realized that,oh, wait, I'm comparing it to other Kasabian shows. When I try to rank all the concerts I've attended in my 48 years of life, it seems that the only way to be fair to all the other bands is just to put "Kasabian" at #1 - otherwise, they would take up 6 of the top 7 slots. Long story short - you don't see anyone walking away from Kasabian thinking "I didn't get my money's worth." You get people saying "That show was amazing," "I can't even explain what I'm feeling right now," and "I've never seen a band with such energy." (All real comments I've heard from strangers seeing the band for the first time). Musically, they are excellent. They put 150% into every performance. Their music, a mixture of rock and electronica, has catchy hooks and enormous choruses, and is delivered somehow with both absolute sincerity and over-the-top absurdity. "Cut us and we bleed rock and roll" the band once said, and it's a statement as true as it is ridiculous - and it's meant to be. The band is a seamless unit led by the impossibly charismatic Tom Meighan, who must be the result of some sort of gene-splicing experiment between Mick Jagger, a fluffy white bunny and an angel. Guitarist Sergio Pizzorno writes all the tunes and is also very dynamic in his rock and roll posturings. One of the fun things about these shows is to watch how Tom and Serge play off each other. But credit must be given to Chris Edwards (bass) and Ian Matthews (drums) whose rock-steady rhythm section keeps the party rolling. Matthews is an unsung hero - he's an incredible musician, and is always being interviewed by drumming magazines and giving master-classes at universities. Also part of the touring ensemble are guitarist Tim Carter and keyboardist Ben Kealey. This is the stripped-down US tour band...on their home soil they also have a trumpeter and often a choir and a chamber quartet of beautiful women dressed in skeleton suits. It works - trust me. But this can't really describe the feeling of being at a Kasabian show in full swing. The band and audience feed off each other, formulating an energy which is somewhere between a rave, a score during the World Cup/Super Bowl/Insert-your-favorite-sporting-event, and going to see the Rocky Horror Picture Show. If the crowd is up for it, they know when to shout "Cloak and dagger!" during "Underdog" and "We need to raise the people!" during "Vlad the Impaler." They'll sing the bassline to "Club Foot" and the guitar riff to "Empire," and of course, the impossibly catchy refrain to "LSF," which you could hear echoing down the streets of New York after the Terminal 5 gig had ended. That's a common occurrence - you don't want to come down after a Kasabian high. Look, they headlined Glastonbury. They're the biggest band in the UK right now. And when they tour the US, it's in venues of 800-3000 with ridiculously underpriced tickets. Do yourself a favor and see them!

Terminal 5 in Manhattan became the latest in a long line of venues to bear witness to the best live act on the planet. Kasabian put on a powerhouse performance from start to finish. A perfect blend of tracks from the latest offering 48:13 right back to the iconic self titled debut. How they don't get the recognition they deserve over here is one of the great musical travesties of all time.

At 41 years old it's difficult to describe just how fantastic this gig was! Went with my girlfriend & didn't stop smiling from start to finish. Perfect support band, great venue, just amazing....Terminal 5 is a small venue that holds 3000, it isn't pretty but where can you see a band of this quality in a small venue? Staff were great....I already loved Kasabian, this just made me closer. We both came away saying best gig EVER!

Despite the fact that Terminal 5 was completely packed because it was a sold out show, Kasabian performed fantastically! Great energy and awesome songs, Kasabian is one of my favorite groups and the band members are wonderful when performing live.

I'll start of saying that prior to this I had never seen a Kasabian gig. I was in NYC on a business trip and wanted things to do that wouldn't ruin the possibility of a potential vacation here with the wife. I'm british and have always liked Kasabian's music, its very dramatical, punchy and upbeat, and makes the perfect soundtrack to any football (thats soccer for you Yanks) film. There are some concerts I have been to where the audio quality (acoustics) of the building aren't great quality and there are some bands whose set up doesn't allow for the vocal track to be heard above the lead guitar or drums. Kasabian however; had this spot on. The Venue (Terminal 5) acoustics were fantastic and the band audio tracks were at the right levels. This was instrumental to the success of this gig. It mean I could hear every note and every word and really feel the connection to the song, and the beat. I'm sure everyone felt the same way as I did, the atmosphere was amazing. I have never been to a gig where the whole audience is jumping up and down at the same time.

Concert at Terminal 5 in NY on Saturday was brilliant. Band were on form and incredibly in tune with the crowd. A lot of brits there. That was okay:o) (I'm from Edinburgh but live in NY now). Will be at their next NY/NJ gig come hell or high water.

Kasabian is a good band, with great songs. They can really make you dance the whole concert if they want. But they didn't want to do it. I felt a lack of energy and even I got bored sometimes in the concert. I think it could be a great concert, but it wasn't. Maybe my expectations were too high. In any case, it was worth the money, it was a good concert.
