Pottercon

Fun evening, I enjoyed being around other potter fans. The costume contest was fun to watch and so was the sorting ceremony. However, I give 4 stars because the event is 6 hours, (2-8pm) but I feel it could've ended at 7. 630 if they did the trivia earlier. Otherwise they could've had a little more going on besides wand/potion crafts and beer pong. Also, the craft stations should've been bigger. too many people crowded around one tiny table. I read reviews for another city and people were complaining that the show was bad and the guy playing Dumbledore was drunk. They had a girl from the crowd take his place so it wouldn't surprise me if he was let go for the rest of the tour. Nice items to buy as well! some even made by other fans.

SO dumb. I honestly don't know how to perfectly capture how terrible this was in words. My friend had come to New Jersey for the weekend just to go to this with me and I am honestly so embarrassed. We were there for 20 minutes, 18 of which were spent being sad about what a let-down this was. It was basically a guy on stage giving commentary on people's costumes, some makeshift bars with overpriced drinks in plastic cups, some cardboard photo props, and a big chess set meant for someone's lawn. I went to a Harry Potter themed bridal shower once in someone's living room that had substantially more decorations and activities. Bottom line NOT MAGICAL
