Saw Slaughter at the Hard Rock in Tampa, FL 9/28/11. They were still rockin after all these years. Only complaint is that they did not end with Slaughter songs and did not play "Days Gone By"

Faaaantastic show! The venue was intimate and the crowd was of modest size -- I really like that. We were right up close to the stage, interacting with the Slaughter band members. Guitarist Blando took the time to come out -- twice -- to meet us and make small talk. The music was fantastic as each of these guys are just incredible musicians. Slaughter still hits the high notes, Blando shreds, the bassist has so much energy, and the drummer? Holy crap. He provided the comedic entertainment the entire night! Jumping around, throwing sticks and doing tricks, crashing cymbals with high kicks, all without missing a beat! The band is tight, owing to most of them playing together for so long. This is a show worth taking in.

Loved the show...the VIP tickets weren't really worth it. Should have saved the money for the Meet N Greet before the show. Otherwise the same fantastic show they have always put on. However, Zoltan was covering for the other replacement drummer and wanted $20 for a drum stick. Sorry buddy, Blas was a better drummer and gave them away during a show. I've got two that I will never part with because of that reason alone.

I was lucky enough to see Slaughter perform in the late 1980s/early 1990s so I was hopeful that Mark still had his voice. He certainly did not disappoint! The show was great. The guys were energetic and the music was tight. I don't know who the kid is that drummed for them that night but he was phenomenal! I've seen alot of concerts through the years and he was the most amazing drummer I've ever seen! I have to admit I was disappointed to see that Jani Lane had cancelled (best wishes Jani!) since I've never seen him or Warrant live but that was soon forgotten when Slaughter took the stage. See this band!

Right from the first song, the entire band were into it and were having fun. They played what appeared to be an encore, but was really a second set of music that included a couple of Motley Crue songs (Live Wire and Looks that kill), a tribute to Ronnie James Dio (Heaven and Hell) and then a medley of songs that included Led Zepplin, Black Sabbath to name a few). They also, of course, played all their best songs including "Fly with Angels" and "Up all night, sleep all day".

This was the worst show I have ever seen...and I've been to alot of shows. Most of the songs were unrecognizable...and where has his voice gone. This was like the openers opening band...not long time ROCKERS! We left early, and had no idea what that show was about. OUCH!!!!

The band was goo, but Mark's voice was terrible, and I think he was wasted, too. We suffered through 2 openeing acts, both of whom were not even in the same musical genre as Slaughter, only to be disappointed once Slaughter started to play. Our anticipation and patience was for nothing. The performance wasn't worth the $20 bucks, and it was only $20 bucks!

My husband and I have been HUGE fans of Slaughter's since the 80's. While the band itself sounded good, Mark Slaughter came on stage already slightly drunk. He continued to drink onstage and then proceeded to slur his words. Half the time you didn't know what song they were playing and his voice sounded like it was shot. Not sure if it was shot over all, or just shot from touring. Friends said they had seen them at Rocklhoma last year and sounded great. I was certainly glad I didn't pay the full ticket price (typically around $80) WE have seen several concerts this season including Judas Priest (sounded great) Queensryche (Always sounds great) Def Lep (sounded good) Nickelback (great) Hopefully Marks comes around, but Probably wouldn't go see them again.

I was disappointed in the show. Although they performed all the major hits, Mark basically screamed all the songs. I know 99% of the words to Slaughter's songs but it was difficult to "sing along". The music was way to loud and he rarely sang the songs as they are on the album. If you weren't sure what the song was, you could not really follow along. Therefore it was just a loud band with a screaming artist and not enjoyable to listen too.

I will start this by saying that I still love Slaughter and their music. I was so looking forward to seeing this band as Stick It To Ya is one of my favorite albums, so when I got tickets to see them I was over the moon. However, this show was so loud that it literally hurt my ears. I have been to many, many concerts in my life and I have never experienced such a painful decibel level of "music". They were so painfully loud that you couldn't even make out the songs... which leads me to my next pain point. I was in in love with their songs and I just wanted to sing along to my favorites. I could not even do that as Mark did not sing them like he recorded them. I was holding out for my favorite, "Mad About You"... but when I couldn't sing along and I had so much pain in my ears from the volume that I was forced to leave the show. This is the first time I have EVER left a concert. Ever. I will continue to enjoy Slaughter's music via CD and never again live.

Slaughter's Powerful Presence, Musicianship, Energy, Entertainment and Incredible Interaction with their adoring fans draws you back in like it's still the early 90's! Mark still has pipes but most of all, you see & FEEL him singing straight from the heart to all his Fans!! After all these years (25+) you can still see Mark's female fans going crazy over him just like we're still in our 20's! He's still HOT! My biggest respect for Jeff because he allowed his fans come up to the stage (small area) despite Security. This is what live music is all about; you want to be up close & personal with Slaughter! The incredibly TALENTED & AMAZING Dana called my daughter Natalie & another little boy (unrelated) up on stage and she got to Rock-Out with Dana and played a little drums with Zoltan!! Zoltan is non-stop entertainment and raw energy! An amazing & priceless experience. My daughter Natalie is a huge fan of Slaughter and loves many of their unpopular songs and after Friday night, she's determined more than ever to see more shows and the chance to sing one of her favorite songs with Mark, "Breakdown N' Cry." Yes, she can hit those high notes on this song! The only complaint I have is that 11 songs wasn't enough and there was no encore. Unfortunately, security made sure to disperse the crowd shortly after their last long, so I don't think an encore was an option. My solution, go to more Slaughter concerts!! Slaughter s music makes me feel Happy with a surge of Energy & Passion like no other band. Slaughter's music continues to provoke me like I'm listening to them for the first time and it's been 25 years! Never stop Touring because this is OUR music that lives in our hearts & memories forever!! Thanks for coming to Cali and PLEASE COME BACK SOON!!!

Talk about getting up close and personal with Slaughter! This was a small, intimate venue, so there wasn't a bad seat in the house, and the band was great. They played a ton of their biggest hits, and really interacted with the audience. At one point, Mark Slaughter even went into the audience and took photos with fans and shook hands, hugged slapped high-fives. What a cool bunch of guys and they poured every bit of energy that they had into their show. I would go see them EVERY time they come back to Southern California.

Mark has let himself go, talkin' belly, double+ chins and not able to move around the stage very well. They managed to drag out the end of every song which limited them to only 9 songs. It seemed as if the new drummer had a lot of energy, which is good, but it offset the rest of the band. Overall I wish they would've played more songs with less of the additional shenanigans. Mark was able to hit the high notes however he couldn't hold them that long, which is to be expected at his age.

This show could have actually been pretty good. Mark sounded like he's still got most of his voice, and the guitar player has his chops. But for whatever reason, ego, etc, the volume was so loud that it was just too loud to hear right. I'm no wimp when it comes to loud concerts, I'm 52 and have been to hundreds, if not thousands of shows. If you're a true rock concert veteran, you will know what "too loud to hear" means. This was just unnecessarily loud and we left after a few songs, and we had plenty of company heading out the exits. The ushers looked like they were in pain. Vixen opened and had excellent sound, and put on a great show. (Steelheart also opened, we missed their set.) We could tell there was going to be trouble when the music between Vixen and Slaughter was pumped up so high that the sound was distorting, like some dumb teenager was turning up his car stereo past the point of distortion. So Slaughter was probably really good that night, but the sound people blew it (and may have blown the speakers).

I was pleasantly surprised by Steelheart (who sounded pretty decent) and very much so for Vixen (who really sounded good, were energetic, and looked as hot as ever). Slaughter, on the other hand...several words come to mind: awful, unrecognizable and pathetic. I saw them back in the day (yes, something like 30 years ago) and they were awesome...sounded great, had great energy and did a fun show. It just might be time for the boys to call it a career. And based on the crowd, I'd guess it was not just me who thought so. I'd estimate that about a quarter to a third of the crowd left during the Slaughter portion of the show. Overall sound was bad, performance was pretty bad, and Mark Slaughter can't sing any more.

I had a great time at the show, Slaughter sounded really good! I even caught a drumstick! My only complaint was the band the opened, Autograph, played a little too long my my taste. While they had alot of energy and played really well, I was there to see Slaughter, not Autograph.

I went to see Slaughter in June 2014 at the Bergen PAC with opening act, Autograph. I heard purchased some affordable seats in the 1st row of the balcony. When Autograph took the stage, only about 1/4 of the seats of the main level were filled and there were about 12 people in the balcony section. The frequency from the sound was so unbearable that my friends and I were plugging our ears with our fingers. The sound was AWFUL!!! I was ready to walk out and scrap the whole thing. It was so ear-piercing that we decided to go downstairs to the lounge to get away from the sound. Because the place was so empty, the security team let us score some seats for the main act **SLAUGHTER** in the floor section. The sound was soooooo much better (or maybe due to the location). Slaughter put on an excellent show and Mark Slaughter was amazing! He can still hot those notes. The night started out bad but Slaughter nailed it!

These guys bring it! Tight and hard. Unbelievably, this was the first time I've ever seen them although another 24 years won't go by before I see them AGAIN! Pleasantly surprised, though the show could have been another 15 minutes longer (45 min. show)! Zoltan Cheney on drums is out of this world! I couldn't stop watching him--he's an absolute animal on the skins! I can't explain him, you just have to see the show.

Opening band (no idea who it was but it wasn't Doomsday Diaries) was awful and didn't even go to my seat when I heard them in the lobby. Autograph was laughable and I was surprised that people stood up to "enjoy" their set - I guess they still have fans. The sound was better with Autograph than Slaughter which was a shame. The lighting guy during Slaughter couldn't get his/her act together. And Mark (Slaughter) sounded like he was screaming rather than singing - of which all of the instruments drowned him out. And they only played 4 songs? It felt as if Autograph had a longer set. The show ended at 10:49pm so they had ample time to do a final song. Bergen PAC is a decent venue but this show by no means was sold out. Summary: Disappointed.

Only gave four stars because even though Slaughter is a great band and they do rock the set was short only an hour long. Now this was not Slaughter's fault. They were only allotted an hour to play as Great White was allotted the second hour. The Hard Rock in Biloxi allows them this time as they have to open the Roadhouse Live Club in the same area that concerts are held. That the pits for us concert goers as we get a scaled back show. That being said Slaughter did out on a great show. I always enjoy seeing Dana Strum prance around stage with his bass guitar. For me he is the soul of the show! Great White also delivered a great performance. Mark Kendall is a phenomenal guitarist and even though Terry Illous is not Jack Russell he puts on a rockin' show with his vocals! I would highly recommend seeing these two great bands anytime they play near.

This was the first double headliner we attended at the Hard Rock. We had high expectations. Slaughter was a disappointment. They were entirely too loud and would have sounded better if they would have turned the volume down. They also brought all of their kids on stage for most of the concert and they sang on several songs. This might have been fun for the band members but not for the audience. The night was redeemed when Great White hit the stage. The were fabulous. One of the best bands we have ever seen. We would see Great White again and again. We would never go see Slaughter again.

This was an excellent show on many levels; there're only two 'buts' in this review. The warm-up band Heaven Below may be talented, and seemed to get a bit better during their set, but, the sound was awful (definitely too loud, yet mixed with so much midrange that you didn't feel any bass impact at all). Please note that I wasn't the only one in our immediate vicinity (middle of venue where sound should be optimum) that commented on how bad their sound was. I suspect they will sound much better if their sound man is unable to show and any random audience member sits in on the sound board... Thankfully, Slaughter and Great White didn't disappoint at all sound-wise...they both sounded much better than Heaven Below...plenty loud without the too-bright sound (okay, shrillness) Heaven Below presented. Slaughter...what can I say...I was prepared for a band I'd enjoy while waiting for Great White; it turned out that watching Slaughter's current drummer, Zoltan Chaney, was the highlight of the evening! I'd never seen him before, and I can only say that he's the most entertaining musician I've seen in quite a while. I'm not saying he's technically the best drummer I've heard recently, only that watching him perform was incredible! Great White, with their current lead singer Terry Ilous, performed admirably (here's that second 'but'), however, I personally have always equated Great White with Jack Russell's vocals more than any other single ingredient, and I was disappointed that he wasn't performing with them. I do hope to catch his version of Great White (also on tour now) for a cross-reference. Now that I'm past the 'but' I can say that Terry Ilous is convincing on their old material, and even the new song they performed that Terry Ilous wrote was good, so I'm going to stick with the overall excellent rating. Overall, given the very reasonable price, an excellent date night!

Was one of the better concerts Ive been to in awhile. Both bands put a lot of heart into the performance. The only thing that would have made the show better was if Jack Russel was the front man for Great White. Terry Ilous can sing well, and sounds similar, but its hard to replace a front man. Slaughter out performed them in my opinion. Their drummer was rocking! The casino sound system was better than many casinos Ive been to including the Hard Rock in Tulsa OK.

Excellent show that transported you back to the early 90's when this band was at their peak. Very lively, Mark Slaughter even came down to the crowd, walking through aisles as he sang. Very talented musicians. Cool to hear songs like Fly to the Angels, Up All Night, Burnin' Bridges, it's a Wild Life and many others. Opening act, Autograph, also put on a great show without original singer Plunkett. Turn up the Radio, Send Her to Me, Blondes in Black Cars, Dance All Night were the highlights. Can't believe it's been 30 years since Autograph opened for Van Halen on their 1984 tour. Overall, a good deal to see these bands together. Recommended.

I have to be honest we only watched the Slaughter portion of the show. So no review on the opening bands or Great White. Slaughter was great. All of the band members were on top of their game. Musically the show was excellent and very entertaining! Mark can still hit those high notes with no problem. The drummer and bassist put on a great show of theatrics and Mark walked out through the crowd singing to the ladies. It was very personable and just a great show. As far as rock shows go, i was less than impressed with Great White. The antics of their front man was more of a distraction than showmanship. He should take showmansip lessons from Slaughters drummer, he was the best part of the show.

I actually ended up at this show by accident! I was checking the Choctaw website for tickets to Kid Rock and noticed they were already sold out. So, I decided to check out who else was playing and found the Slaughter and Great White event. I have seen both band in the past but I thought it would be fun to see them again. I have really been looking forward to going to see the Choctaw Casino anyways. Well, needless to say, I have noticed a trend with the bands from the 80's and 90's, they work so hard to please their long time fans. The sound and lights were amazing, the energy between the fans and the band were on fire. Slaughter did a great job of playing the favorites and thanked the audience several times for coming and thanked the military for everything they do. I even got lucky and found Mark Slaughter at the merch table signing autographs after his show. It was a fun night and Choctaw treated us great as well.

After all these years Slaughter and Great White still got it. Mark Slaughter can still hit those high notes that he did back in the 80s and 90s. But the winner of the night was Great White. The best part was when they performed save all your love. Location was just right.

I'm a huge fan of 80's music and I think Slaughter has a ton of great songs. That said I was honestly worried going into the show because I've seen a lot of people say that Mark Slaughter's voice isn't what it used to be. I'd have to disagree entirely, he's still got it in spades! He and the band (particularly the drummer, his high energy performance was possibly the best part of the whole show) were absolutely spectacular and I'd highly recommend them!

The hall was great. Sound quality for LynchMob was poor. Slaughter had no lead guitar for the first 4 song. That sucked. After that it rocked.

I must say I was disappointed with the whole night. That is something I rarely say. Let's start with Lynch Mob. Very disappointed in the sound. George Lynch's was so buried in the mix you could barely here him. They did nothing to feature George and he is the man. It could have been any guitar player up there and no would have known the difference. It's a shame. Slaughter, love their songs and I saw them a year ago and they stole the show from Great White. Tonight they played Penns Peak. A nice smaller venue. Unfortunately someone forgot to tell the sound guys it wasn't a large stadium. Everything was way too loud and muddled for this venue. Very dissapointed.
