Little Feat is one of my all time favorite bands! I've seen them many times and this show in Boston was my favorite! The Wilbur is a great theatre and I had a great seat with extra room on the end of the section where I danced. Great show with a lot of interplay within the band. They were having a great time together and we had a great time. At the end of the show we were able to move up toward the stage. Some of the guys pushed me up to the stage since I had been dancing all night. I slipped my bra off and threw it up on the stage at an opportune time! It surprised and amused the band as well as the audience! At the end of the night a roadie gave me a copy of the set list! If this was the last Boston show for Little Feat, I can not complain!

These guys always play with alot of heart and fun in their eyes! The set was great from the first song to the last. It was great to hear Sam on vocals on more songs, Gabe kept an awesome beat while Kenny laid down the bass. Bill as always was exceptional on keyboards and Paul & Fred played some great riffs and slide guitar. These guys always have fun and get the audience on their feat with their extended jams. After the show they are always gracious enough to sign and pose for pictures and just shoot the sh!t with everyone. We were able to grab our guitar from the car and everyone signed it for us (special thanks to Miss Patricia for getting Sam's signature for us, much appreciated). This was our 4th show seeing them in the last 2+ years and we already have our seats (2nd row pit) for the Collingswood, Nj show at The Scottish Rites Auditorium. Be safe on the road and see you in December!

Great performances by Little Feat and the opening act. 2 outstanding bands and, especially for me, 2 outstanding bassists in Seth and Kenny. Kenny gave me a lesson in profound understatement...until his solo, which was still profound, but certainly not "understated." I find most sapping boring and un musical, but Kenny's was extremely tasteful...way beyond cliche.

I have never been a huge fan but I was in town and the price was right ( 30.00 ) and I wanted to check out a concert at the famous HOUSE OF BLUES NEW ORLEANS. I was looking forward to hearing songs like TEXAS TWISTER and some of their other hits. The lead band ( sorry, do not remember their name ) was better then anyone would have thought. Sounded a lot like old POCO. Lead singer had a good voice and the band was tight. They played around 40 min. and did their job, warmed up the crowd. LITTLE FEAT came on 20 min. later and from the first note I was blown away with how good these guys were. They may be old ( like me ) , man they were full of energy and had the place dancing immediatly. They played at least an hour and half. Played everything I wanted to hear ( except OH ATLANTA ) in extended jam sessions. HOT HOT HOT !!!

Really enjoyed the extended versions show with Grateful Dead-like long meandering jams, finally returning to neatly wrap things up. Also, guest appearances enhanced everyone's performance and added another layer. Variety Acoustics need work: Much as I'd prefer the relaxed balcony seating the sound was flat, as in an indistinct "wall of sound" and the sound down front, standing up, was much better dynamically, detailed and 3-D. (I think sound absorbent material on the back wall would be helpful.)

I have been going to Little Feat shows for over 30 years and they have not missed a beat since then. They were great! The only thing missing was Lowell George. Their sound was HUGE....congratulations to the sound crew and the gand on the mixing board. This was the real Little Feat band, and they are still in their prime..

The show was great. I was definitly impressed with the band and the atmosphere was also great. I liked the fact that it was such a small venue. It wasn't difficult to get around the arena and you could still hear the band even if you went to the lobby to get a drink or outside to smoke a cigarette.

I saw Little Feat in the old days when LG and Richie were alive and they put on great shows. They were also the best singers in the band. Fred Tackett is a talent, no denying, but he isn't Lowell George. The band starts playing, they get into a great funky groove and they are cooking. Then they start sing and there is a deflation. Richie Hayward was a great second voice for Lowell's singing, and that is sorely missing. Regardless, they stir great memories and it looks like they are enjoying themselves, and that is contagious. The horns seemed to be good, but the acoustics in Bergen PAC are so bad that I couldn't hear the horns. It looks like they upgraded the sound system, new speakers as far as I could see, but the same mushy wall of sound as in the past. Very disappointing sound quality. I keep telling myself I won't see a show there, but they do bring great acts and I couldn't resist. Please fix this, its not rocket science but sound science. Hire an engineer and get it right. And keep bringing great acts in.

I've seen the band at least 10 times. Always very good and sometimes great. This show was terrible! The sound mix was the worst I've ever heard at a live performance. I had great seats dead center about halfway back in the orchestra. It should have been awesome. Bass sounded like mud. Couldn't hear the keyboards. Vocals were muddled.you couldn't tell what they were singing. everyone was composing about how terrible it sounded. Feat seemed like they had no energy and they were just going through the motions. Maybe they were picking up the vibe from the audience. I was so disappointed as they are one of my all time favorite acts. I won't go see them again.

They lacked the energy of old. Vocal audio was poor. We the fans are getting really old; I must have had to stand and make room fifty times during the concert for people needing to go to the bathroom. This was made more difficult by the sticky floor. I have been a fan for all but the first fifteen years of my life, but this was my last Feat concert. Lowell Thomas George you are missed.

If i I knew their live show was this good I would have searched them out long ago. They played their classics and came out for 20 minute on-core which topped all! The crowd was super charged for this great show. Hope they come back soon.

This version of the band Little Feat has become a different item from the original band lead by Lowell George. Not quite as much energy but very good in it's own right. On 9/9/16 Little Feat rocked the Paramount with it's hit Let it Roll. For me the high point of the night. This song was not on Waiting for Columbus. Those songs were more familiar to the nearly sold out crowd. The only original player is Bill Payne who's voice is still excellent. There is a conga player who has a great voice and helps you forget Mr. George to some degree. Overall a great night out at an excellent concert hall. I was in the balcony. A skirmish arouse when a dancing man refused to sit in his seat. The attendee behind him became upset. This guy most likely has never been to a Grateful Dead or Phish concert but the standing certainly had. Interesting to see how the crowds have changed over the years at these types of shows. I say let him dance!

Opening with Rocket in My Pocket set the tone! They played a lot of the old catalog with a few surprises - Down on the Farm! Extended jams and medleys (as one would expect) were very entertaining. Fred played his usual mix of instruments flawlessly. Kenny was awesome and Bill was a virtuoso. Paul looked quite healthy and energetic! They also touched on 5 songs from Rooster Rag. Rock and Roll Doctor and Skin it Back really rocked the house! So nice to see them real close in a small cool venue.

Leon Russell and band played most songs in an up-tempo country style. The vocals were not mixed above the music until halfway through the set. The best part of the show was Leon playing the electronic keyboard solo and performing four numbers. Little Feat did almost exclusively jams ala the Grateful Dead. I had trouble relating to their performance.

Awful sound. We had to leave. Others folks I talked with left early and also said it was because of the sound system. You could not here a lyric or discern an instrument. The sound was shrill and overly loud. Tickets should be refunded. I have been going to concerts regularly since 1960's and this was the first that I had to walk out of. I saw Lyle Lovett at the Wilbur a short while ago and the sound was superb.

This was my firtst time seeing Little Feat. I'm a fan because of Waiting for Columbus, which is the only LF album I own. I thoroughly enjoyed the show but I would have enjoyed it more if they had played more of their classic htis, either by substituting them for a few of the more obscure (to me) numbers or confined themsemves to 8 minute jams instead of 12 minutes so they could play a wider variety of songs. I know this is the classic debate - whether the show is for the hard core devotee of the band who has heard the standards too often and relishes hearing their take on a different tune (or just letting them jam to their hearts' content), for the more casual fan who would prefer the more recognizable songs or for the band itself (which seemed more interested in jamming than engaging the crowd). This show's setlist was typical of the shows they're doing on this tour - a few fixtures (Fat Man, Dixie Chicken, Spanish Moon, Rooster Rag) , 1 other "hit" (e.g., ours was Let it Roll, others have had Oh Atlanta, Rocket, Time loves a Hero) and 3 or 4 less well known songs (at least to me). If you're Springsteen and are gonna play for 3+ hours, you can mix in some rarities and new cuts with the hits and make everyone happy. If you play for 90 minutes, there's a trade-off to be had and folks going to the show should know what LF's approach is -- extended versions of fewer songs, half of which will be newer or more obscure material. Also first time seeing Leon Russell and I enjoyed his show very much as well. His articulation left quite a few lyrics indecipherable but the songs were fun, his band is great and he took the time to tell a couple of anecdotes that were entertaining and helped even out the pace. I was pleased that he played for about 80 minutes - quite a bit for an opening act, even when the two acts are both very well known.

The Wilbur Theater is definitely not the venue for music, if this first concert I've heard there is any indication. As the title says, it was a murk of drums, bass and lead guitar. I saw a mandolin up there, but I never actually got to hear it. I was in front, under the box seats, and that made it even worse. As for Leon, he's a legend and one of my favorites, which is why I spent a lot of money to see him. But he's old and sick, and his voice -- which was unique but not great -- is almost undifferentiated. I think he played one of his old greats, but I can't be sure. It didn't help that he banged away on a tinny organ and not a real piano. He tried his best, though, and I appreciate it. He is a great, soulful, talented, charming musician and definitely deserved his induction into the Music Hall of Fame. Even knowing this would probably be my last time seeing him (the first time in the 1970s, and you can imagine how great that was), I still left early. Sigh.

You just can't sit still when Little Feat is on the stage. I went to see Little Feat and Leon Russell and because Leon played a few tunes by himself, I enjoyed this part of the concert. Both bands played super loud, where you couldn't distinguish the words clearly and it was a little overwhelming. Both bands had their members go off onto riffs, but Little Feat's riffs seemed to be extra long. A song that had 4 or 5 verses, the individual riffs were so long, that they only played 2 verses. It was not what I was expecting. At the end, I was really glad it was over.

Great show! I'd never seen Little Feat until last weekend (and then saw them twice: this show on the 11th @ Indian Ranch, and then the next night @ The Blue Ocean Music Hall in Salisbury Beach). I've been a fan of their double live CD (Waiting For Columbus) since it came out thirty five years ago, so I don't know why I've never seen them perform. And unlike other bands where the current incarnation has just one or two of the original members, for the most part, this is the band that was around back in 1977 (the two exceptions being Lowell George and Richie Hayward, who are no longer with us). Anyway, tons of fun! Great jams to the songs that you want them to play (Join the Band, Fat Man in the Bathtub, All That You Dream, Time Loves a Hero, Spanish Moon, Dixie Chicken, etc) and a strong closing with Oh Atlanta. They also played some songs from the new CD (Rooster Rag) which sounded good. And ticket prices were reasonable: $30 and $35 (before fees) for the two gigs. Bought tickets for this show the second they went on sale and got front row; the next night was general admission but I ended up right in front of the stage most of the night. And I made a photo collage from the Indian Ranch show that I brought with me the next night, and the entire band (except Sam Clayton) signed it! Yes Virginia, there IS a Santa Clause; and you CAN have see a great band with great seats at a reasonable price!

First a little about the Indian Ranch. This is a fantastic waterfront outdoor venue. Small and intimate. Full bar and food. Prices are good for tickets and food. Sound is pretty good but could be better and the first ten rows were folding chairs which i could have done without but actually never felt uncomfortable. 2nd row floor is a great way to see Little Feat. Now as for Little Feat. There is nothing else to say except they rocked! The new material is great and there was just the right mix of old and new (I don't like when bands tour and play too much from a new album). Great versions of the tunes (mixed it up). The only thing I could think of to make it better was if they played all night long but the show was NOT short by any means.

These guys are "THE" Jam Band to see! They never dissappoint...they play with a youthful enthusiasm you just dont see in some bands. These guys know how to have a good time and play some of the tightest jams. Paul Barrere on vocals, lead & slide guitar, Fred Tackett always excellent on trumpet, mandolin & guitar, Billy Paine on keyboards & vocals, Kenny Gradney layin down the bass, Sam Clayton percussion & vocals on Spanish Moon and Gabe Ford on drums (miss ya Ritchie)! We couldn't have picked a better band to spend New Years Eve with! They took the time to say hello outside after the show, signed autographs and posed for pictures. We're anxiously waiting their return, hopefully this summer sometime!
Played from 9:30-1:00 a.m. on NY's Eve and ended with Let It Roll. Celebrated midnight with their last song of the decade Willin and the Jamaican National Anthem. These guys jam harder and longer than most of us could dance. But we tried. During almost every song, each member took his turn at successfully blowing us away, including guest saxophonist Ron Holloway. What a way to end and start the new year
The variety was a great venue. The only problem at first was that we were in the balcony, and the lights for the stairs were shining on us. Once we moved to the floor, it was a whole other scene. The band was awesome. They are so much fun to see, and a legendary icon . They have been touring for 40 years. I say their sound is , "Grateful dead with a little bit of jimmy buffet and lynyrd skynyrd on the side." You get several genres when you go see little feat- the blues, rock n roll, island music, and jam band. All of this in one show with some great songs and lyrics. My friend that has never seen little feat is definitely hooked and bought 2 albums already. Definitely check out this band and venue, if you get the chance!
I've been a Feat fan a long, long time, was in the audience at Lisner Auditorium when Waiting for Columbus was recorded and several times after...And was kind of disappointed by their performance at St George Theater... For sure, they sound great, Fred and Paul are great pickers, the rhythm section still drives the band...But with so many songs in their catalog, why they prefer to perform covers rather than their own material is a mystery...and a let down...Little Feat doing The Weight or Long Black Veil is not what I came to hear from them... Everything they did was done well...just not a lot of imagination in the set list
The only glitch in this show is that the keyboard player arrived late. No one noticed though because the accordion player filled in beautifully and seamlessly. The rest of the show was a toe tapping, dance in the aisles delight.
Always love seeing these guys. Their music is timeless. A great mix of classic and newer. I would see them again and again and again.

This was a great show - plenty of energy, and great music. A nice blend of old Feat favorites (Fat Man in the Bathtub, Dixie Chicken), deep tracks (Skin It Back), newer songs (Rooster Rag), and other folks songs (Long Dark Veil and The Weight.) The 3-man horn section added a nice dimension to songs like Spanish Moon, and I was pleasantly surprised when Fred Tackett picked up a trumpet and joined them in a bit of a jam. Feat really stretched out on a number of tunes, and brought it all to a rousing close with a big rave-up on Let It Roll as the encore. I saw them once before in '78 (RIP Lowell and Richie) and these guys are still crankin' after 40+ years as a band! FYI - for Wilbur Theater shows, the wall boxes on the mezzanine level are priced lower for a good reason. Even though you're close to the stage, part of the stage is blocked by the wall on each side (I couldn't see Sam Clayton or the horn players on the right side.) And since there is only a 6" difference in height between the two levels of the floor in the boxes, only the front two seats in each box have a really clear view of the stage. You're also right next to some of the house speakers which may be too loud for some people. One of the people sitting near me went to the back of the auditorium at one point and told me that the sound was much more coherent and balanced back there. The extra money for the regular mezzanine seats is probably worth it.

The lack of constant touring seems to have refreshed the band. Not playing the same songs night after night infused a new energy They played inspired new arrangements of their classic songs. The horn section was a really nice addition. I have seen The Feat at least 25 times over all the renditions of the band and this was one of the better shows. The lack of a new record to support contributed to the flow of the show. I have never been a fan of "Willing" but they played a splendid version. Rooster Rag was the surprise of the night, it was really good,

These guys were great! My wife and I saw them on our first date 30 years ago, then again now. They played the best songs from the years past, and were so tight. This style of music is not easy to play! I know because I've tried... They start out with a great song, go into a jam on it, then bring it back in. Cannot recommend this band enough!

What a great show! They still rock out after all these years. We had a great time.
Seen feat a few times over 30 years and this was equal to the best show they put on at the Beacon. Like a fine wine I guess. Just awesome, even all us old geezers on their feet much of the show, dancing, just awesome. Had the horn section which really adds so much to their music.
I saw Little Feat at the Beacon Theatre in 1976 or 77 or maybe it was 78. This performance can't be compared but these guys are very good I had great difficulty hearing vocals and guitars. No speakers on stage only above.
Unfortunately after seeing little feat many times since the 70's this was by far the most uninspired show I have attended. I know Paul is ill and their loyal friend had died a few weeks ago there were almost no inspiring points to recall in the show. Between the muddled sound and to the minute show time I hope this is not it for one of my favorite bands in my life. I only saw them once with Lowell(amazed to this day)they still put on many great shows I have seen. I even saw them last year in Dec in Collingswood and was so happy when I left. Paul I wish you well and Bill you STILL put everything into your playing and sound great. I hope to hear you again with better results and bill I hope to hear you in some solo effort. Forever a Little Feat fan. GOOD LUCK
Was surprised to see Feat playing so close to home at the Scottish Rite. The venue is really cool, and the band was just straight up and simple. Very little stage set, clean and simple.
Little Feat was solid throughout the evening. Sound was muddled however and often unbalanced. A number of songs have been reworked to make up for aging voices no longer able to hit certain notes. Other acts might be advised to follow suit. Kenny Gradney's playing was amazing. The rest of the band was as polished as fans have come to expect. Kudos to Gabe Ford for a solid backbone since this is the first time I have heard the band minus RH. Venue was a bit disappointing. Seating on card-table chairs is lame. Site lines are impacted by those in front as we were on the second level with a taller couple in front. Will come back however if the bookings remain this strong now that I'm aware of the layout and other seating possiblities The price was certainly fair for a band of this caliber .
This was an intimate venue and was well suited for a jam session with Little Feat. It was classic excellence and show cased their talent. Fred Tackett is awsome.
great show i have seen them several times and this was one of the best.

Great energy from guys who have been doing it for a while. Passion for the music is evident, and they can just flat rock! Great seats at the venue as well. I'm crossing this one off my bucket list, but won't hesitate to see them at any future opportunity.

This was the second time the Wife and I have seen Little Feat. Last time was over 20 years ago, and was a little skeptical how they would sound! Well, during the first song "Red Streamliner" I knew We were in for a great concert. And it just got better! They still have it! See these guys if you want to have a great musical experience!!

Perhaps the deafening volume would be great for other performing centers, but the level muted lyrics and individual instruments. There certainly were a lot of fans in the audience and what fun they had standing and dancing. The music had some original sounds and some seemed like the members were ad-libbing, almost creating on the go. (1 Star for sound, 5 Stars for talent)

Who were those imposters calling themselves Little Feat? It sounded more like a Phish concert, with jam after endless jam. Hardly any recogiizable Little Feat classics and Paul looked bored. Never again!

Love this band, too bad the sound system was not up to par - we couldn't understand most of their vocals - very disappointing.

They are Little Feat. They don't dazzle you with theatrics. But they "WOW" you with their music. This is the 5th time I have seen them, and they are still fantastic. If they are in the Twin Cities, I am at the concert. Most of these guys have been together close to 40 years. They know each other and enjoy one another. Their music is fantastic. They only way you can go to a LF concert and not come out smiling is if you are deaf or dead. They just rock!!

I've been a fan of Little Feat since the 1970's. I've seen them two times prior, once in 1979 in Charlotte N.C. and then in 1992 in Sacramento Ca. Both shows were excellent. This show was very poor. The took Little Feat Classics like Dixie Chicken and split it up while various members left the stage for a break. Fat Man in the Bathtub included a 12 minute or more guitar solo. The only songs they played which they played liked they cared was there new stuff. I guess they want to sell CD's. The venue in Ocean City was poor. The sound system was the pits and the chairs were so tight together you had no room to more or breath. So disappointing was this show when compared to previous concerts I've seem them in. I can't bring myself to play their music right now. Poor job guys, hang it up because that will go down as one of the worst concerts I have been to.

Little Feat is like a fine wine, they just get better with age. Awesome show! Kenny Gradney was on fire as were the rest of the band. Great versions of Willin' with Don't Bogart that Joint mixed in, Dixie Chicken, and Spanish Moon, plus a jammin' version of Fat Man in the Bathtub. I would recommend to anyone who has never seen the Feat to get to a show ASAP.
