Almost Queen

When purchasing tickets for Almost Queen, nothing was said about an opening act. No clue whatsoever on the Marquee outside or on the ticket etc. The opening act known as Led Blimpie should have been coined as Lead Balloon. I've seen many Led Zep tribute bands and this had to be the worst so far. It seemed as if the lead singer had too many energy drinks before the show which distracted the actual music performance. Not to mention way too loud and playing way too long for an opener. Almost queen of course was spot on as always and was meant to be there. In the future i hope more info will be announced for the acts to play night of show. It made it for a very late night with ears still ringing from the first act.

What an amazing show! Great performance and high energy! I felt like I was watching the original Queen! Thank you for an amazing night!

My second time seeing Almost Queen. Took my 15 year old son who is a huge Queen fan. We sat in the front row, he was completely blown away. He absolutely loved the show, the set list, and meeting the band in the lobby afterwards. He mentioned to me after the show, he liked the Almost Queen show, more than The Who concert I took him to last year at The Prudential Center. He told me later that night, he would never forget that show. It was a great father & son night out. Thanks!

What an amazing show! This guy has all of Mercury's moves, looks and sound down to a T! We loved it.

I am a huge Queen fan and this band gets it. Great night, great set. The only problem is that they were not allowed to play longer.

Almost Queen is absolutely talented!!! They were fun and played every single song with lots of energy and dynamics!! If they come back to Boston I will Pay to see them again!!! They need more advertising and better marketing. If I had the money I will hire them!! All of them are vey humble and they are starts!!!!!! What a fun night! I bought the tickets as a surprise for my husband who is a big fan of Queen and Almost Queen was great. The crowd was mixed with all ages which was cool too because once the band started, everyone was just singing along and having a great time. The band was a lot of fun.

THE SHOW WAS NOTHING SHORT OF AMAZING!!!!!! As a very devoted QUEEN fan who has attended approximately 30 of their concerts, I could not have been more impressed. It truly was like almost being there. Joseph Russo has obviously worked very hard to capture every gesture and nuance of Freddie' s that we so loved and so desperately miss. THANK YOU ALMOST QUEEN FOR A SPECTACULAR SHOW!!!

I didn't know what to expect and was hoping for the best, well let me tell you, Almost Queen does not disappoint. The real Queen would be entertained. Their look, the energy and most of all their talent was amazing. Joe Russo is outstanding and has channeled Freddie Mercury's charisma, you cannot go and not have a good time, don't miss it! Each member of the band came out at the end of the show and took pics with the fans, they are really nice guys too.

I come to see this band every time they play @ bb kings.The first time was about 4yrs ago on a tuesday night.As a lifelong Queen fan Iwas really excited.That night BB Kings was packed,and the band did not dissapoint.Joey Russo(Freddie Mercury)said for a tuesday night you must all be really big Queen fans,and proceeded to perform songs that I love.They did Father to Son,Seven Seas of Rhye,the early music that I fell in love with.I just wish they would do more songs from Queen & Queen 2,two of the greatest rock albums ever.Other than that they did not dissapoint me again.I think thay have even gotten better,the more they play together.

Almost Queen is fantastic. They do an amazing job with the impersonations and they're clearly extremely talented musicians individually. It's a fun show, and I highly recommend it to everyone, Queen fan or not.

A fantastic most enjoyable time. All were excellent musicians, good sounds, great moves\u2026 Sang all the best songs. Went out of their way to include the audience and make everything even more fun. I will go see this band again and again whenever they are in the area.

These guys put on a great show. They played some rare songs. This was not a Greatest Hits night, it will satisfy the casual Queen, or even just live music fan, but will also scratch the itch of the true hardcore Queen enthusiasts.

My husband and I weren't expecting them to be THAT GOOD...loved, loved, loved them! Could've stayed all night.

Didn't know what to expect from this band. I received tickets last minute and was pleasantly surprised at the quality of the musicians. They covered all the Queen songs you would want to hear, and sounded very good. Would recommend this show to anyone who is a Queen fan. Top notch entertainment!

If you love the music of Queen, this show does that music justice. They put on quite a good show.

Incredibly talented guys, have seen them twice and going for my third in April and forth in Mohegan Sun during the summer...hopefully more to come because I can't get enough :) These guys are so cool!! despite the exhaustion I'm sure they had after such an energetic show, they came out to take pictures and chat with the anxiously waiting fans!! Agree with RobarkT, at this show 2 couples were not only exhibitionist with the flashy hat and bra but overly touchy considering there were kids attending the event, this was completely inappropriate.

I took my Mother, who was a Queen Fan , but never got to see them live.. We both had a great time! The lead, Freddie, had incredible energy!! Great Show!!

i had seen some video of Almost Queen on you tube and was not impressed at all, but their live show at the Bergen Pac theater was much better than expected...my wife and i enjoyed the show very much....

Must see for any QUEEN fan. I was lucky enough to have seen QUEEN 6 times and am a diehard fan. The first time I saw Almost Queen at BB KIngs I was not expecting to almost relive those expierences and was very pleasantly surprised! This band clearly loves this gig, makes every moment count and they back that up with real talent. I have also seen One Night of Queen and A Queen Extravaganza and although they are also talented, Almost Queen is as close as it gets to an actual QUEEN concert. As I am sure Joe will agree, nobody can ever replace Freddie Mercury, but at times he channels Freddie so realistically that it send chills down my spine. I am sure Freddie is looking down and saying "BEAUTIFUL JOB DARLING!"

With the exception of the lead singer not being able to match Freddie's incredible voice, The 4 guys were quite GOOD. The singer has all Freddie's moves down pat, and does a very decent job with the songs(vocally). The drummer, guitar,and bass were all very good. My wife and I both enjoyed ourselves very much, listening to all the familiar hits Queen had. We were very pleasantly surprised. Might even go see them again sometime in the future.

Any fan of Queen and Freddie Mercury will LOVE Almost Queen. I recommend you see them perform as soon as possible.

So fun! My boyfriend is a huge Queen fan and he was very impressed as to how well they impersonated Queen.

Russo has a great voice (although the bass was so loud, it drowned out vocals at times). Guitarists & drummer were amazing. Very annoying attendees in front of us, exhibitionist woman with flashing hat--inconsiderate of other attendees.

Great music and show. Only complaint was that it started off too loud..too much bass

Almost Queen, well really, they were in my mind and in my ears! The best cover band I have ever seen doing Queen! I would definitly see them again and I am already raving about them to friends and family. My husband and I both enjoyed the show and the Bergan PAC Theatre, our first for both.

This band was great. The total Queen experience. I would definitely love to see them again.

I had little initial expectation. After just a few minutes i felt like i traveled back in time to the day i attended my first Queen concert. The energy, the sound the look, it all worked making me feel 30 years younger like a screaming teen. I was overly impressed with every aspect of the show put on by these most talented musicians. Can't wait to see them again. Don't miss this show. The audience loved it too. On a scale of 1-10 I rate almost queen an 11!

What can I say that already hasn't been said! "ALMOST QUEEN" is exactly what the name of the band implies. They are very good at what they do. Great stage presence. Supports The Freddie Mercury AIDS Foundation. Is well received by the audience. Bottom Line.... "ALMOST QUEEN" is almost "Queen"!!!!!!

This tribute band did a remarkable job presenting Queen music and theatrics at this rather small venue. Joe Russo gave all the energy and enthusiasm that Freddie Mercury had and was clearly "in the moment". The band did a great job paying tribute to Mercury. Randy Gregg as John Deacon and Steve Leonard as Brian May were both excellent musicians and contributed greatly to the production. John Cappadona as drummer Roger Taylor rounded out the spectacle which is very highly recommended. I could not rate Almost Queen as amazing since I feel that should be reserved for Queen itself. Aside from that, this is a fantastic show.

We enjoyed Almost Queen at Tioga Downs Casino. They did all the classics, displaying excellent musicianship.

These guys are really talented and put on a great show. I'd recommend them for any fan of Queen. Even some of the obscure hits (some of which I hadn't heard before) were awesome.

Every time these guys come to town, I make sure to go and see them. The show is never a disappointment. This is the closest you can get to see Queen live without Freddie.

Almost Queen was amazing.....the band sounded just like Queen and they put on quite the show. Played all the old favorites as well as some I haven't heard in years! I was very impressed and definitely would go see them again whenever they are in town. The venue was terrific too (first time at BB Kings in NYC)

IT was great! Could have sworn the main guy sounded exactly like Freddy Mercury. Went to the back to dance the whole time and really had a fantastic time

The show was really great. The lead singer acted and stayed in character the whole time, very energetic and kept us all entertained. The musicians were really amazing. I was concerned that they wouldn't really sound authentic but they absolutely did. It was 100% spot on what you are used to hearing. A raucous great night of playing pretend!

Almost Queen was AMAZING! The group i went with all enjoyed the show...it was a great time! At times you would really forget that this was not the original band members...that's how good they are! I would definitely go see them again as well as recommend them to friends, family etc.

Band was excellent. Great musicans and good guys. They took pictures with my daughter and her friend after the show. Music sounded fantastic and they played with the crowd and got them involved.

Queen is my 10-yr-old son Xander's favorite band ever, without rival, since he was old enough to talk. I was pretty young when Freddie drifted away from pop/rock towards passion projects (opera?) and then became ill, so I didn't really know them as a child myself. I came to enjoy Queen by surrogate as my little son played them, over and over and over, as little children are wont to do, and we learned the songs and their backstories together. We've since attended other Queen tributes and the We Will Rock You musical, and Almost Queen really delivers in a unique, heartfelt way, representing each of the members of the band, not just Freddie. These guys are executing complex music for a crowd that knows how they want the song to sound, all the while trying to emulate legendary performers -- Freddie is still ranked as one of the greatest vocalist of all time in recent polls, and Brian May is consistently named as one of the greatest guitarists. Even if you aren't a Queen fan, you have to give them points for technical execution of the work, and these guys seem sincere in trying to recreate a "Queen experience" that many of us were never able to attend when Freddie was alive. From the performance on stage to greeting the fans in the lobby after the show, Almost Queen were nice guys simply trying to share their love of this amazing band. The show never felt commercial or rote or cheesy -- just fun. For really super-serious Queen fans, they did some of the lesser known "deep cuts" mixed in with lots of the well-known hits. I was happy that Almost Queen played my personal favorite, I Want to Break Free, a song that got so little American support back in the 80s that I never heard it until my little one introduced me in recent years. On the other hand, I was sort of disappointed that they didn't do Princes of the Universe or Who Wants to Live Forever, two songs that I feel really capture the essence of the band's body of work. I was secretly glad that they skipped Seven Seas of Rhye, a song that my husband adores, but just doesn't speak to me. My son spent much of the evening rocking his air guitar to every song, but on the way home, he wondered aloud about why they didn't do Flash Gordon, and then we screeched it out as we drove home with what voice we had left after singing along to Almost Queen.

The band was INCREDIBLE!!! Every member did each Queen member justice. They all were talented, entertaining and professional. A truly amazing group of musicians and performers. Joe Russo, the Freddie of the group, was AMAZING!! He had Freddie's voice and moves down to a T -- perfection!! Their set list was great, they pulled out some old tunes from the Queen catalog that thrilled every one of us Queen fans. I will absolutely see them again any time they are in New York. EXCELLENT!!

If you are a fan of Queen don't miss this band. More than just playing Queen songs they put their own personal stamps on the music. Great musicians!! Great show!

Amazing show. Great performance looked like them, sounded like them. Brought back alot of memories, and felt like I relived my childhood.

Almost Queen was horrible. We left early because it was so bad. I didn't even feel like it was almost Queen - it was so far off.

I saw Almost Queen 10 years ago and it was great to see them again at Westbury. This band does Queen like no other tribute band. Actually, Mr. Russo should be in the film they're making on Freddie Mercury and Queen. He's got Freddie's voice and mannerisms down and would be a perfect fit for the role. Anyway, I plan on seeing Almost Queen again when they play in NYC in January. Keep up the good work, fellas!!!

The show was great, they played alot of the classics. They truely sounded like Queen.

I have seen Almost Queen well over a dozen times dating back to 2008 or 9. The band just gets better. John C brings some much energy behind the drums. If we can get them to play for 2 hours they would may satisfy my wish set list !!!

I went to see this band having never heard of them before, but being a fan of Queen I was willing to give it a try. I was BLOWN AWAY how good they were. OMG it was as if someone revived Freddy Mercury back to life. If you are a fan of Queen this is a MUST SEE!!!! I went with my 12 year old and I asked her on a scale of one to ten how much did you like the show, she replied 37. Enough said, I enjoyed it so much I will definitely go to see them again in the future.

I honestly didn't know what to expect from this concert except that I would be listing to music from Queen. I read the online reviews which were overwhelmingly favorable and have to say that I was completely satisfied with the performance. The band members didn't try to assume the characters as some tribute bands do (which is a little creepy to me), but they had the music, look and mannerism down. We say far upfront (more about that later), and I suspect is we sat back farther, it would have been a great simulation of the band Queen. I was lucky enough to have seen the real band and it was one of the finest concerts I ever attended (this coming from a former roadie). The only thing that I was disappointed in was the mix. I don't give high marks at all to the sound tech. He must have come from the school of mixing that said push all faders to 9.5 and push the vocals to 10. This was a live room and not designed for rock shows, which makes the job of sound tech that much harder. While I give the overall performance a solid 9 or maybe a 10, I have to give the sound quality a 6 or 7. By the way, The band has their own merchandise, and proceeds from the sale go to the Mercury fund for Aids Research. Very classy band!

Almost Queen. Great band. Terrific musicians, especially Steve (Brian "May-be") the guitarist. All great performers, and a full range of great songs. Extreme fun, especially for Queen enthusiasts. The overall sound was too loud, verging on muddy, which I attribute to most-likely the venue's sound system. Joe is wonderful as "Freddie"; he's a terrific singer and performer, but his voice seemed a little tired that night. Still I enjoyed his and the whole band's performance. Standing ovations and a great time had by all.

Almost Queen has become one of my must see shows each time they appear in my area. It's an amazing tribute performed by top flight musicians. I always bring someone new with me and they always leave amazed. This was my third year in a row and it's always a great night out thanks to the professionalism of Almost Queen.

Almost Queen was quite good. Set selection was excellent. Very well done. Lead guitarist was both great and off key. The venue sound system at Bergen PAC was terrible. Very muddy no clarity at all. Vocals drowned out. Obnoxious use of front facing flashing lights which continually blinded the audience.

Great show. Worth the dough. There were times I was brought back to a concert in the 70'a when the opening act was Kansas. Great job, would see them again.

This band was fantastic. If you did not know Freddy Murcury was gone you would swear he was there on the stage. They really gave you the show along with the music and got the whole audience involved. If you are a long time Queen fan or just a casual fan you will still love this show.

I have to say I will definitely go to see them again and I recommend anyone who wants to be thoroughly entertained whether you were a fan of queen or not go see Almost Queen.
