Fun, sexy, and incredibly talented performers. Between the music, the dancing, and the way they engaged the audience, I think I had a cheesy grin on my face for the entire show. It was great!

When I think of Chicago the Musical, "WOW!" is the first word that comes to mind. The actors were wonderful and wooed me into the 1950s. WOW!!!!!!!! My fiancé and I always call to mind "Mr. Cellophane." Indeed, he is one of our favorites!!! GREAT JOB!!!!!!!!!!!!

My Mom and I attended Chicago in June in Ottawa and were pleasantly surprised. We loved how the orchestra was actually worked into the entire performance. The leads were so gifted and it was truly worth the money. There is nothing like live theatre, and Chicago delivered an entertaining, sexy and sultry performance with some giggles mixed in. I would recommend this show to anyone!

The singers were excellents, the decor however was extremelly boring. Everything was black, I mean the floor, the costumes etc. The same as when you go to a rehearsal. No change of decor was done in the first act, at least not that I noticed. In the second act we got to see a hint of a change, still in black but a least it was a visual change. It a good thing that the singers and dancers were excellent.

The movie Chicago was one of my all-time favorite musicals. It's hard to imagine a cast who could compare with the all-star Chicago movie cast. This group of actors held their own and made the entire play as enjoyable as the movie. The sets were minimal, but cleverly done; the orchestra placement was creative; the costumes were well done. The talent of the actors really stood out, especially Roxie and Billy Flynn. It was a pity that the rendition of "Cellophane" was so short. Such a strong song should have been given a bigger role, especially considering the excellent voice on stage. The only disappointment was "Mama." The actress wasn't vocally strong enough or enough of a physical presence.

IT WAS THE BEST!!! ENJOYED THE MUSIC THE ACTING AND DANCING! BUT I HATED IT WHEN MATRON MAMA MORTON WAS SOFIA VERGARA!!! :( The chracter should have been like the movie and how it is in on BROADWAY !!!!! The character was suppose to be heavy set, and Black... Sofia had a terrible accent that could have been fixed.. Talking too fast and I could not understand one line she said...

Didn t care for Velma Kelly character s voice. Found Roxie s/Velma s dance at end lacking. Orchestra and company dancers great, liked Roxie s voice. Could have done something more special with Russian ballerina s suicide. Billy s/Amos voices great, Billy could have danced.

First of all, I need to say I am a fan of huge Broadway of Broadway musicals, and love "Chicago", however this was kind of a mixed experience. Myself as a patron, I always dress up, as the theatre, is still considered an "event" for me to attend. The singing was mostly very good, and the choreography and execution was great, but the lack of any set design and the void of costume changes, made the experience less than fabulous, for what should be an elaborate Broadway Musical. The main characters, Roxy & Velma, who had strong voices and dance skills, appeared quite a bit older than they should be. Without sounding ageist, they were completely miscast for those parts. One could even tell by their wardrobe. The rest of the ensemble was scantily dressed, very sexy, in mesh, and low cut, and the 2 female leads, were more covered up, and lacked the sex appeal, in which those roles should have held. Velma's voice, even sounded like an older ladies voice, which was distracting. I am not saying saying middle age women cannot be sexy, it just the outfits, hair and makeup did not pull that off. The could have been more" vamped up", but aren't. Roxy character plays as pregnant, and that was certainly NOT believable, with a very matronly Roxy playing that part. I had seen the 2 leads on a local tv show a few days prior to my going, and when I saw them, in street clothes, I immediately had the impression, it may be difficult for them to "pull off" the younger, sexier presence of those roles, and I was hopefully, since they're actors, but it wasn't done. We also had really good seats(3rd row), so it was up very close, and more noticeable of ages. The rest of the cast was very strong, and my suggestion would be to pick any of the 2 younger females, and they would have been suitable for Velma and Roxy.

I preface my comments with the fact that I am not an aficionado of dance. I think the production did wonders with a minimalistic stage setting. It held my attention despite non-stop dancing. The backstory is humorous and the performers seemed to be really enjoying theirselves. Energy is at a high level and was contagious. Happy I attended (with two others who are dance aficionados) and do appreciate the talent presented.

I ve seen this show several times and this version was disappointing. Roxie and Velma were great, but had no costume changes. Flynn couldn t keep up with the women. I was very disappointed in the staging for the musical Chicago. The multi-tired orchestra stand occupied two-thirds of the stage, leaving about 10-15 feet for the actors to perform their numbers. This behemoth became the focal point and the singers and dancers became secondary to the orchestra. The director had the female singers performing in a Tiny Tim like falsetto that was very annoying as well. I am sorry that I went and cannot recommend this show to anyone.

In reality this was my 2nd time @ the Pantages. 19 years ago, I went to see the musical "Joseph & the Technicolor Dreamcoat"....A great brief memory though. --- I've returned. The Pantages Theatre is one of the most beatiful venues on Earth!!! I was mezmerized by the detail of its internal architecture. I felt like I was the singer in the theatre house of the "Phantom of the Opera". I wasn't happy during the intermission though. It's really short, and since we stood in a huge line at the bar; by the time we received our drinks; it was time to go back in. We either could scarf down the drink; or buy the $7 commemorative plastic cup with lid. I got a quick tipsy trip, since I chose to gulp-down the drink in less that 5 minutes. That felt odd-- As an adult now, I was able to be delighted with the jailbirds of Chicago. I love the movie, and the original Broadway soundtrack. And of course, Hollywood does a stellar job when it comes to the movie version. So I was a tad bit disappointed that the musical version was done in such a visually monotonous manner. There are no scenery or costume changes. Unless you've seen the movie, its hard to comprehend what's happening on stage. Because they're always dressed in the same fancy black-tint ballroom-jazzy attire. The girls of the "Cell Block Tango" ROCKED the stage!!! But this is a good example of a moment; where the stage could've benefitted from an elaborate jailhouse set. It's also a bit overwhelming to see the whole orchestra sitting in the middle 70% of the stage. ---About the dancers/chorus troupe. They are fascinating and talented...a true work of art in motion presentation!!! I was blown away with every number. Their dancing/singing abilities surpass...ALLthe leading roles. I truly respect them as artists. --- Mrs. Brinkley wasn't too bad, but she couldn't fit at all into Renee Zelwegger's shoes. And Velma Kelly was played with the sassyness, and sensuality of a true cabaret vixen. I enjoyed her role a lot more than Roxie's

Each cast member brings their own gift to the stage and life to their character... John O'Hurley is a natural made for the part... Amra-Faye Wright grabs you from the get-go. She's all-around art in motion, and hysterical... Carol Woods' inviting conviction locks you in as well.. and their duet had me in stitches! The dancer's moves, vocals & timing adding to the magic... and Christie was icing on the cake. Face it.. she's still HOT. And the gal can sing.. not belt it out over the hearty orchestra as Amra-Faye and Carol did, but you don't need 3 pipes when one's in black satin Marilyn-style, taking the breath away from guys in the front rows (make that back stage hoots & hollers as well). She was "Roxie".. and pulled it off as an over-eager chorus girl on her way to stardom.. with spurts of comedic fun. You connect with them all. Ron Orbach as Amos, received "awwwws" when he took his final cellophane exit... "They Both Reached For The Gun" was a hoot, and received lengthy applause... but my favorite number was "Me & My Baby". Christie's talents were highlighted with a softer vocal melody, swift-step dance moves and slapstick.. When her dancers joined in, Hollywood's Golden Era illuminated the stage. It truly was a moment to embrace. Think Marilyn, Rita & Lucy... The timing was to a "t".. adorable and captivating. If you're looking for a couple of hours of fun entertainment... and a band that'll swoon you back to the 20s.. I highly recommend!

I can't say enough what a great time we had. We sat in the balcony, and a perfect view of the stage is available from all over. The cast was spectacular, the voices were flawless, the orchestra was perfect, the choreography perfectly executed. The show itself had humor, and heart, and was such fun. I brought my 8 year old daughter and she loved it as well! She was disappointed when she thought the intermission was the end, and she was overjoyed that it was going to keep going. I'd recommend this to anyone.

CHICAGO, the musical at the Pantages Theatre in Hollywood, was an excellent production. Done very simply, with minimum "set" details. The quality of the talent more than made up for any extra stage props. First of all, the Orchestra was excellent. Just large enough to produce a full-bodied sound one would expect from a larger group of players. Overall, the performers ranged from good to "Razzle Dazzle". The two leads, Michelle Williams (formerly with the musical group Destiny's Child) and Terra MacLeod, kept up the pace throughout the show. Terra, who played Velma Kelly, was the stand-out star of this production. Her enthusiasm oozed during every number. Dancing and singing, obviously, is in her blood and boy, did she have a gusher at my performance, which was the final Sunday Matinee. Michelle has an abundance of energy and is easy to like in her part as Roxie Hart. She really seems to enjoy playing to the audience. The Pantages is always a nice place to see musical theatre, or any form of entertainment in fact. A couple of my favorite rock concerts growing up were right here in this theatre. Pretty comfortable seats and friendly employees. So, overall I give this entire Chicago experience an "A", on the Rob report card scale. Enjoy.

In this production Chicago at the Pantages theatre was was both rememberable and forgetable. Roxy Heart(Michelle T. Williams) wasn't up to par with the rest of the cast. Velma Kelly (Terra C. MacLEOD) put on a performance that was unforgetable. The director's concept was very interesting and unique; though at times it was a bit confusing. If you are looking for an unique spin on a classic this is the play to see where "murder is an art".

Chicago the Musical at the Orpheum in Minneapolis was just fair. The dancing was excellent and the singing good. The staging was sub par, with the orchestra in view on the stage as the backdrop to every scene. Especially distracting was the costuming. Some actors were in expected 1920s styles, but other actors were dressed like 1990s grunge/punk, and still others had costumes that looked like they had been purchased this week at K-mart. Several ill fitting designs. Mary Sunshine was played as a trans character which was of no surprise, yet dialog added to make the audience think they should be shocked. This character fell flat. The use of ladders to add visual interest was also unimpressive. I would not recommend this production to anyone who loves theater like I do.

I am not really into jazz but this musical is interesting. I booked four seats with my friends in Section 3 on the first floor which is a little bit far away from the stage so it is not so clear to see some of the actors' motion and expression. But it doesn't matter too much since the scene layout is simple for Chicago the Musical. Maybe next time we prefer to sit nearer to the stage.

No sets at all. Bandstand took up almost the whole stage. Dancers were very energetic, but there were just 12 of them and they had to double as reporters and other parts with no costumes changes. Good music and good dancing, but I expected a lot more for the price.

We were a little disappointed by the overall effect of this presentation. The actors had great voices and wonderful stage presence. Having the orchestra within the play created a distracting backdrop to otherwise excellent performances. We had great seats, but despite remodeling efforts at the theater, the discomfort of being sardine-packed is definitely aggravating.

Chicago was one of the most fun musicals I have ever been to - and I've been to quite a few. It was so enjoyable! I have seen the movie, listened to the Broadway Revival soundtrack, so I knew it very well, and it was so cool to see it come to life - Cell Block Tango is still the favorite!

The show was beautifully done. The set was minimal with the orchestra onstage. The use of the set that the orchestra was on made the show. The beginning was the best part. What a spectacle!!!! The only thing I was somewhat disappointed in was Billy Flynn. I thought he seemed a little stiff for the role. But props to the actor for trading his football for jazz hands!

Performers were amazing. Great voices and dance techniques were flawless. Orchestra and conductor were amazing. I saw this 20 years ago, and this performance blew the original one away.

Saw this for mothers day last weekend. I've got to say I wasn't impressed. Actually saw Jekyll and Hyde on the local level few weeks ago and would go there again and again over this one. Just wasn't spectacular like the others I've seen at dpac.

I really enjoyed this cast. What a surprise to see Miss Roz Ryan in the show! (I loved her in "Amen"!) The show was sexy and sensuous. Plus, there were some good laughs. I enjoyed the dancing and singing. The show moved at such a good pace that the intermission and end came quickly. It helped that there were actresses and actors who had played the roles in the past.

This was my third show. Not quite as good as the previous two. The leads did not demonstrate the same charisma and style I experienced seeing in earler performances. The show itself will always be a masterpiece. The storyline and the musical arrangements will always compensate for lapses in performances.

We enjoyed the show, however, we felt that it wasn't up to par with others we have seen. Because there weren't any stage or costume changes it seemed "simple" in comparison. The actors playing Roxie and Velma were very good but the actor in the role of Billy Flynn was just OK but somewhat amateurish.

This is my favorite show and I was so excited to see it. My favorite number is Cell Block Tango. The performers were great! The production was subpar. I fully expected the red backlit scene and instead viewed top lit white lights over each performer. There was a lot left out of this production. I was disappointed. I felt like the production rode on the history of this show and did not invest in a set worthy of this "Longest Running Broadway Show." I walked out feeling I was the one who got "Razzle Dazzled."

An awesome use of lighting and the chorus streamlined this production. Eddie George, (timid during "All I care about") came out guns blazing and absolutely nailed "We both reached for the Gun." A high energy performance by Terra MacLeod (Velma Kelly) really elevated the show to the next level. And a unique take on the jury during Roxy's trial put it over the top. Great show, absolutely worth seeing.
