The Rocket Summer

The Rocket summer came and slayed. So much variety, and so much energy. So much fun! The foundry is a nice little venue too!

This was a great show!! I had never heard of the opening bands, but they were pretty good. Bryce is such an entertainer that he can literally do anything he wants & his fans adore it. He even made up songs by looping a phrase on each instrument & then sang along to make the song complete. He came down on the floor for a little dance party, too. I loved when he got up on top of the monitors & towered over the crowd. After the main set, he came out did 5 requests (including That's So You - my favorite) and one last band song to end it. He commented on my awesome retro Rocket Summer shirt during the concert. He makes it so personal for everyone. He signed our shirts and talked to us at the end & he even remembered meeting us 8 years ago at another show! He didn't hide out waiting for everyone to leave to sneak out. He went back by the merch table (where Tara was) knowing that a line would form behind him. He's such a great guy!

Amazing show. The opening bands were good (although waiting 2.5 hours for the main act was a little longer than I would've preferred). The Rocket Summer was AMAZING. I really think Bryce Avary is such an underrated musician. He is extremely talented; I think it is pretty rare to find someone who is so great at song-writing, singing, and playing multiple instruments. He has phenomenal stage performance which includes a lot of passion and energy. It's nearly impossible not to enjoy watching him and dancing in the crowd. The slower songs are great, too. My favorite songs of the night were 'Walls' (& the 'Come Alive' piece he added after it - it was really emotional for me), and Roses (which he sang in the crowd). One thing I enjoy about The Rocket Summer's music is the substance of the lyrics, which I think is really highlighted in the live show. This was not my first TRS show, and it hopefully will not be my last.

Never having seen him before, I was unsure what to expect. It was an amazingly energetic, personal and top-notch performance. Bryce is an amazing musician with tons of energy. I'm not sure how he does it night after night! I can honestly say it's the best concert I've ever been to. Frankies Inner City was the venue. It was what I expected, a small, dark, dirty bar. Nothing to write home about, but it didn't bother me. The opening acts were not that great.

The opening act, Mike Midwestern was quite a surprise. I thought it would be He Is We and then Bryce Avery. Mike and his friend, sorry I forgot your name, did quite well. His songs were very good, well written and easy to understand. He reminded me of Peter Himmelman. I asked him after the show if his music was at all influenced by Mr. Himmelman. He said that it wasn't, and I excused myself for comparing the two. I try not to group artists together whenever possible. All artists have their own identity and strive influence people to recognize it. Five stars for Mike and his friend. Ten stars for his work with charities and letting me have his CD for a good price. He Is We is the act that I took my daughter and her best friend to see. They are very avid listeners of the acoustic duet. My daughters friend(Rachels biggest fan), turned me on to them a few weeks ago. Now I find myself humming or singing their songs through-out the day. They (w/Henry on the Cajon) did an excellent job, the crowd seem mesmerized by their melodic and sometimes haunting lyrics. I particularly enjoys songs that give you the sense that they are either written for you or that the song writer is in some cosmic way, your kindred spirit. When words flow from songs like they were stolen from the very fabric in your soul, then they are worth their weight in gold. Five stars for the everlasting songs that will fill my nights for eternity. Tens stars for Rachel giving my daughters friend Ashley, a hug and absolutely making her spirit soar. The Rocket summer was unexpectedly great. I had never heard Bryce before. Sorry Bryce. I was very taken with his personality, talent and humor. He told stories that made you feel as if you were his best friend. I particularly enjoyed the song where he played all the instruments and sang. I had never seen that before and it was great. Five stars for Bryce and ten for his humor. For the roadies and people behind the scenes, 20 stars. The talent out front shines brightly. You have so much to do with that.

Before this concert I did not know who the Northern Way or He Is We were, and they were both awesome. They all showed great character on the stage, and had a great lead up to The Rockey Summer. Bryce from The Rocket Summer is a solid guy. He interacted with the fans a lot, which makes for a special concert. He explained meanings behind songs, and was a funny dude. The encore when he came in the crowd and played a song with his guitar was unbelievable. From seeing him play and talk it was easy to tell he is a genuine guy, and his character made this concert a 5 out of 5.

this was my first rocket summer concert even though i've wanted to go to one for about 3 years. it was AMAZING. Bryce is such a good performer and really interacted with the audience. the shirts for sale were awesome and i bought one. i can now say that my life is complete all because i have been to a rocket summer concert.

This honestly was up there in the best concert category. I've been to at least thirty concerts this year and Bryce actually made jokes with the crowd, told stories, and made it more personal. It seems like he actually cares about connecting with his fans.

On this beautiful November Fool's Day, No one was fooled by The Rocket Summer's amazing performance. Bryce Avary brought his A-game even when he had a bad ear infection. Bryce never leaves the audience with a bad mood. This was just Bryce and his instruments. A very intimate show.

Solid performance. Great stage presence and interaction with audience.

This show is a must for anyone who has been a Rocket Summer fan :)

The Rocket Summer is very energetic and is very original with his performance. There were a few people who, throughout the entire concert, were yelling for him to play a specific song of his. He plays piano in the song, but he didn't have it memorized because he wasn't planning on playing it. But he went to his keyboard and played around for a minute to figure it out, and was able to play the chorus for them. It was, without a doubt, the best concert I've been to.

The Rocket Summer, as always, brought so much energy and made this night amazing. Brighton Music Hall was a great venue, it was small, clean, the staff was very nice, and it helped make for a very enjoyable night.

All of the acts were amazing. I went to go see The Classic Crime, hadn't planned on staying for the Rocket Summer, but ended up staying anyway. Bryce is really cute and so enthusiastic when he performs. The venue itself was really nice, the audio was pretty good, I could still clearly understand what William and Matt and Bryce were singing over the drums and instruments.

My daughter has been going to Rocket Summer shows since she was seven. Bryce not only performs with heart, he treats every show like it is his favorite and wouldn't be anywhere else. Every show we've been to Bryce exceeds all my expectations by staying and meeting each and every fan waiting for an autograph and picture. The Rocket Summer is the only band I will take my daughter to see on a school night, in a bar, or will drive 6 hours if that is the closest venue. I highly recommend going to see the Rocket Summer. Your first show you will decide you want to see more, not just for your kids.

Bryce and his band are amazing I see him/them anytime they are close! The only thing that sucked was the band that opened before them, they were awful and shouldn't be opening for such an amazing band, it kinda made me not as excited as i would have been :( but that all changed when TRS came on!!

Three extremely talented artists! Chances are you wont be seeing any Bryce play small venues for much longer. Very intimate, perfect pairing (of bands), overall an amazing night! TRS definitely needs to put out an acoustic album after this!

This concert was amazing, I loved all of the sets, and all of the bands there. I personally went for He Is We. The Northern Way who I've never heard of were great. I loved the songs. He Is We I LOVED! I've been a fan since last year. The crowd seemed to love their songs a lot. The Rocket Summer they or should I say, He was great. All the music that nice felt right. My hi light of the evening was, He Is We were humble enough to meet the fans. I have had a chat via email with them weeks before this event. That night I finally got to meet Rachel Taylor of He Is We. I loved it, my good friend was sick so we couldn't stay after the concert to really meet them. The venue was perfect, it was actually very large compared to the amount of people attending. i would say about 200 people were there that night, and the venue could've easily fit 500 people.

I drove 6 hours to this show....if that doesn't say how much Bryce means to me, I don't know what does. Maybe this will...I'm thinking about driving 9 hours to see him for the third time on this tour! It is worth every minute and every penny.

Bryce Avary is the most incredible man I have ever met. This man and his songs mean the world to me and help so many people through hard times in life. I've thought about getting tattoos for many years, but I finally got my first tattoo in honor of Bryce. I dedicate it to him. He's so kind and inspirational and his wife, Tara, is just as sweet. It was literally THE best concert of my life!

I had been waiting for 3 years to see The Rocket Summer and FINALLY I got to! Bryce Avary is a genius and is so talented. He excels in vocals, instruments, and music writing. So glad I could see him in real life!

The Rocket Summer puts on a truly fantastic show! I saw him this past week at the Vans Warped Tour, and we had to wait the entire day to see him, but it was totally worth the wait. He played my two favorite songs and several other of his most popular songs. He was energetic and really positive. One of the only bands that didn't curse at his fans the entire show, which I greatly appreciated. In the middle of his set he composed a piece entirely on his own by playing each instrument and looping what he had played. During his last song, he actually climbed off the stage and crowd surfed while playing his guitar! It was a really amazing show, and I would definitely go see him again!

Bryce is ridiculously talented; the entire band puts on a great show every time.

Incredible! Bryce is one of the most amazing musicians ever and hands down one of the most down to earth. He made sure to make his fans feel special and gave us his full focus while rocking out and creating beautiful music! I've been waiting ten years to see him and it was the best concert I ever attended. Thanks TRS!

What an absolute blast. The venue was relatively small and intimate. Bryce engages the crowd and reacts to them. He actually looks like he is having fun rather than just going through the motions like a big-tour band. By the end it's pretty much a 'name your set' type of event. My only hope is that he continues to put out music and tour.

Amazing show, crowd surfing, and a meet and greet. The Rocket Summer was amazing, and Fresh Wreckage was a great opeing act! I could relive that night so many times!

This was my fourth time seeing Bryce in the last year, and it was just as magical as the first time! For those who don't know, TRS is actually a solo project done by Bryce Avary. On albums, Bryce writes, records, produces, and plays every single instrument on every song. He tours with a small band for obvious reasons, but doesn't rely on them for every song. He does many alone, using his recording equipment, and it just ends up being a very fun thing to watch! I drove four hours to catch this show, as this mini tour will be his last for a while he makes a new album! Even though there was no new material released between the four shows I saw this year, he was able to make each concert a unique experience by interacting with the fans! I cannot say enough great things about Bryce! He is seriously the nicest, most wonderful, talented person I've ever had the blessing of meeting on multiple occasions. Bryce stays after the shows and meets with fans who have stayed. He genuinely cares about each person as an individual, and spends a good amount of time with those who have something to say to him. He doesn't just sign, take a picture, and brush you off. I had a short personal and meaningful conversation with him. He loves Jesus and it shows in everything he does. If you have the opportunity to see a show, please do! It will change your life!

This show was pure amazing. Not only did I get to see Bryce (The Rocket Summer) for the 5th time live, but I finally saw Joe Brooks live and the two opening bands (Tidewater and Royal Teeth) were amazing. Never have I ever been so impressed with every single artist that I've seen live in one show this much. Bryce played for about an hour and 40 minutes which included nearly a half hour of requests. You can tell that he puts his all into every piece of music he writes. I wish I could find the words to explain this better.

The three starting bands were really great, I usually find that the begining bands are hit or miss but all three were very enjoyable and I wouldn't mind seeing them again. Bryce had an awesome performance as always - he played for almost 2 straight hours! Very high energy and got the crowd involved. I love going to his concerts and every time I'm he's in town I make sure to see him!

Bryce Avary aka The Rocket Summer put on one of the best shows I've ever been to! The openers included Tidewater, The Royal Teeth (awesome), and Joe Brooks. The venue was quite small and intimate, and a lot of fun. The Rocket Summer played a set full of great songs, including a lot of old classics, and then Bryce proceeded to come back on and take requests for about 5 songs! The band returned to play several more before reluctantly heading off the stage. Neither crowd nor band wanted to go. It was all in all an incredible experience.

Originally my daughter went primarily to see Joe Brooks but liked The Rocket Summer a lot. She really liked the venue--said it was clean and she liked the size of the audience as it felt intimate and more personal. Of course, Joe Brooks was amazing--she now has a nice picture on her iPhone of the two of them to remember the evening.

Excellent show. High energy, great people, artists are super kind.

By far one of the best, most intimate shows I have ever seen! I have loved The Rocket Summer since the first cd came out and it was a treat to see Bryce and his band!

Came to see TSA and it was worth it. They play better is small venues but The Rocket Summer being amazing definitely made up for it!

best show ever. let's not even play like atlanta doesn't know how to treat bryce and all y'all tricks didn't have a blast.

Bryce avary of the rocket summer was so incredibly talented! He had so much energy and made the night so much fun. He came into the middle of the crowd and sang and we had to carry him up onto the stage to get him back! He really involved the audience and I would definitely go see the rocket summer again. I met him after the show and he was so genuinely nice, and it just made the experience even better. Great night!

Amazing performance! The Rocket Summer sounded just as good live as the studio recordings. Great experience, they really got the crowd going.
