What a high-energy, fast-paced, tight show! They played all the favorites true to the albums or better. This is my second time seeing them live within the year, and they blew me away each time.

The Regency Ballroom sets a grand atmosphere with elegant chandeliers, balcony seating and a large open floor to be close to the musicians. Drinks are available, although pricey at $4 for bottled water. The show was close to 2.5 hours including a 20 minute intermission. I am sure the performers came with their own lighting technicians as both shows were extremely well done. Entering with a mix of familiar tunes including Epple, Royksopp's performance had the crowd bobbing and dancing from the start. After the introduction came Remind Me, then vocalist Anneli Drecker appeared amidst wild cheering for Sparks. Throughout the show the group appeared in various robotic costumes for added dramatics. It is one thing to listen to the music on an iPod and another completely fresh experience to be surrounded by and participate in it through live performance. In addition to the set the duo came back for not one, but two encores! One featured Only this Moment, the second a remix of the Kings of Leon The Immortals. Absolutely stunning and really played the crowd well. Royksopp we love you! Come back soon!

It was a great show with awesome lights and sounds. I love all their music in studio version better. I went in with high expectations which explains my slight disappointment, though that's my fault. I also don't go to concerts much. I had a good time, and would recommend it to anyone that likes this type of music.

I had a great time listening and dancing to Royksopp last night. The Regency Ballroom isn't the best venue, it's kind of a big empty box, but the band had great energy, pounding bass lines and the lighting was better than most at that venue. Lot of great have-to-dance beats and lots of people dancing in the crowd too.

The show was amazing. I had never been to the Regency, the venue was awesome. The only way it could have been any better is if any of the Swedish girls, i.e. Lykke Li, Robyn, etc... came too.

They definitely worked the crowd. The vocalist (while not Robyn or Karin--as most were hoping would appear) sounded close enough to the studio versions that you could feel the floor boards bounce as everyone was nodding/jumping along. They played all the hits--and were clearly into the set (+ 2 encores). The only negatives: the sound quality was just OK, and the ventilation in the room is pretty harsh.

It was really interesting to see songs from Melody AM performed live. The studio album is so beautifully mastered I was curious to see how it would play out in a live performance. Not only did they play nearly the entire album at the show but there was much improv added to most the songs. Like true songwriters you could see how the musical expression and fluency eased from these guys. Truly gifted artists and musicians. Very original and exciting performance.

I've been a long time fan of Röyksopp and was overcome with joy to hear they would be coming to my home city of San Francisco. I have to say that the show as is their music was inspiring and was truly a rare moment of life. I hope to see them back here soon otherwise I may just have to follow :) The opening act, Jon Hopkins, I was unfamiliar with before the show but was equally impressed with. I'm an grateful for the opportunity to have been introduced to such a promising new sound coming out of Europe and look forward to hearing more as he develops.

I was a bit skeptical going into a show at the Masquerade, seeing as I had been there for other shows and they were bad. But I was awesomely surprised when the staff was nice and helpful, there was no smoking in the area (they played upstairs in Heaven) and the sound was great. The total vibe with everyone there was also great. Since, at least in my opinion, Royksopp isn't very well known in the states, the camaraderie between fans there was awesome. Everyone, that I saw, was in a good mood and had a great time. I was so excited to see that one of the female singers came!!! I was in heaven!!! I was amazed at how awesome they were in concert!! Definitely worth every penny of the ticket price! And it was so inexpensive too $25!! Totally entranced!!! You'll be in an excellent and happy mood!! Bottom line: If you're on the fence about going to this concert, get off and get a ticket! You won't regret it!

The show was an absolute hit! The music brought back memories from "days of yore". Ah, the goodtimes... all-night parties and loungy afternoons. Röyksopp's sound has stood the test of time. To me, their sound is still as relevant and cutting edge as any newcomer out there! The crowd was a mix of 20's and 30 something's which makes me know they will be around, dropping new and innovative tunes for years to come. Two thumbs up on the show!

This concert was SO GOOD! The opener, John Hopkins, came out super strong and was absolutely amazing. The venue was perfect for the music because it was big enough for people to move but small enough so you could be close to the stage and really feel the music. Royksopp was incredible. They started off so strong and just kept getting better and better. Their costumes were killer and the crowd was so into it. Overall, amazing concert. I would go again and again, and I have already recommended it to my friends.

I have been tracking Royksopp since their debut album Melody A.M. and it was great to finally see them live. They rarely make it state side, and visiting Atlanta was a total surprise. They were great and performed with tons of energy. A great deal of the set list was new material and the old favorites they played were given a new spin. To me the highlight that evening was the opener Jon Hopkins. I never heard him before he began his set. The Masquerade is not my favorite venue, but it worked. The place was packed just to the comfort limit.

I anticipated both artist to put on a great live show but I left in awe. The whole event was true perfection. Jon Hopkins, the opener, destroyed it and definitely had the crowd nice and buttered up. Royksopp is one of the best LIVE electronic groups I have ever had the privilege to experience and I see tons of artist every year. Not to mention Trentemoller was here a few days before and although I love Trentemoller I must say the Royksopp set was on another level . It wasn't just the tunes. Household Management (MJ) promotions definitely showed out. Masquerade in ATL is always a dope spot for a show. The sound was perfect! I'm actually still trying to find out the engineer responsible for the set up that night.

Royksopp was great!! Traveled from Milwaukee to NYC to see them! I would give them 5 stars because they are my favorite band but on here give them 4 only because the 'show' aspect of the event was a bit lacking. I understand there is only so much you can do with this type of music but I would have liked to see a bit something more. Other than that, the music was amazing and I was really pumped to see the woman in the band come with. They were all so nice and you could tell they loved what they were doing. Would love to see them come to the midwest though :( Played 2 extra songs for the audience also :)

Not to sound like an overzealous fan but Royksopp was awesome! They played a lot of their good upbeat hits but also some really nice and chill aural pieces where you could just close your eyes and take it all in. There wasn't a fancy light show or anything but they changed costumes a few times. They did a cover of Wuthering Heights and Kings of Leon, which was AMAZING!!!! The opening act John Hopkins was very good played really good songs. kept the energy up all the making for a great opening act. Me and my friend had a great time listening to the music and Royksopp was amazing, but there was a couple that really tried to ruin the show for the people around them. They were very obnoxious and even tried to start a fight with me and my friend! This was my first Royksopp concert and that was not the way I wanted the night to play out. We were both very sore the next morning after trying to get the guy away from us... BUT the music was sooooo amazing live, they were very lively and played for an extra 15 minutes which was much appreciated. I would go see them again definitely and I can only hope that I don't run into people that rude again.

Royksopp delivered great music! The quality of music these guys create and the energy they pour into their works are unbelievable. They played songs from Junior, Melody AM and The Understanding. They included a song from their track of the month. I was hoping for some songs from Senior....maybe next time. The sound was well controlled so that melodies were easily heard. I was right at the front of the stage. It did get stuffy and hot inside. The place was packed, but for the most part the crowd was pretty controlled - after all it is a concert - and Royksopp rocked it. Jon Hopkins was the opener. He played it well. I hope we don't have to wait long for Royksopp to return to San Francisco!

By far the best show I've been to yet! Very high energy, not oversold (so it wasn't too crowded), and the music and the band was fantastic. Sooo cool! These guys are probably my favorite group right now. They kept the list mostly to Junior (which is a good thing) and had plenty of energy. They had a guitarist and a bassist, and a singer which I believe is the woman who sings on a few of their album songs such as You Don't Have a Clue (my favorite song). She really has an incredible voice. After they left they came back for an encore. After that they came back AGAIN and did a King's of Leon cover. The venue was beautiful but booze was super expensive (surprise surprise). A Great show.

Saw Royksopp last year with Robyn and Karen as their special guests, singing on the original songs, so this time around with a different singer gave the concert a different feel. They also played their more mellow songs, which was a prelude to their upcoming Senior album and I can respect, but I appreciate it more when they picked it up at the end and played more dancey songs.

The first time I saw Royksopp at this venue was Nov 09, while they were heavily promoting Junior. The show in itself was good but acoustics alongside being directly up front didn't blend well, which I think put a damper on my experience. This time, we went a few rows deep this time, and from the sounds of how they tweeked their live sound to include less shrill electronic effects, it made for a much better experience. The music was far less predictable as well, though they opened with a few singles here and there which were greatly accepted by the crowd, my mind exploded when they suddenly dropped down into a live rendition of the Milde Salve mix of their re-rub of Steve Reich's Electric Counterpoint. Though it came early on, it was definitely the high point of the concert for me. Everything after that was phenomenal as well, a light sprinkling of singles here and there coupled with some TEAR the ROOF off live tracks that made me think I wasn't so much at a concert but was raving again. Very very very energetic set that closed with (on their, what, 4th encore?) a remix of a Kings Of Leon tune that I found mighty dandy. My biggest gripe though is that I was really expected to hear some more kicked up versions of tracks on Senior. I got faked out bad when they began playing Alpha Male thinking it was Senior Living, but yeah .. should have guessed they weren't going to play material from a decidedly ambient album on a live stage .. despite the fact that merch was selling primarily "Senior" gear. Regardless, thanks again Senor's B & B! 8/10.

The energy this show created built throughout the show... this was my 3rd time seeing them and the best by far. The only down side is that the Wiltern is no longer a fun place... too many security saying no, can't be there, can't do that, can't stand there.... and they over sell the theatre to sardine capacity. Just charge more for the ticket and get the audience size so that everyone can see... please.

Still under the influence of this concert. Although I was there, I keep watching the youtube videos of it, just to remind myself that I was there and wasn't dreaming. Type in Royksopp Atlanta in youtube, and watch them all. Venue: It actually makes me feel depressed that I might never get to see Royksopp ever this close. I was so close with no barriers between audience and the band, that I shook Torbjørn's hand. Masquerade is a great venue to watch any concert. You have freedom to be up close to the band while dancing without crashing into people. Everyone has their own space and freedom. Opening act: Jon Hopkins. This already acclaimed and famous DJ was newer to the Atlanta audience. However it only took him 2 songs to get everyone pumped up and dancing. His music is above the general realms of an electronica genre. At the end of his set, everyone was ready to pay the same ticket price paid that night, just to see Jon Hopkins next time he is in Atlanta. Royksopp: Amazing music, and stage performance... They captured the hearts of the entire audience that day. I keep going back to that day. It's very hard to write a review when you keep wanting for more. Royksopp was clearly enjoying entraining the audience. It was definitely an amazing experience. I hope they come back to Atlanta very quickly!!

Röyksopp is a one of a kind, unique group to experience. From start to finish everything was incredible. ... from the opening act, Jon Hopkins, who mixed his usual ambient soundscapes into some gritty, big beat free form experience to Royksopp' choice to not play a single cut from their newest, atmospheric Senior. Slightly unexpected, but a great show! Royksopp were very active with many costume changes and hopping around the stage. It was a very Euro-Disco-Pop-Dub-Groove-Rock show with superb vocals by Anneli Drecker. Jon Hopkins has a great ear, great equipment, and a great balance between Soundtrack Ambient and Gritty hiccup, deep bass, beats. I have since bought all his work. Very good show with unexpected twists.

Live electronic music acts usually take a unique approach to the performance aspect of the show. On one end of the spectrum, There's the humble DJ set, sometimes with a vocalist. The performance aspect is minimal, but still usually effective from a dancability standpoint. Then there are artists that go out of their way to recreate the composition live by using an incredible amount of on-stage hardware, programming, live sample and sequence triggering, and completely MIDI-timecode synchronized equipment. Only a few acts pull this off effectively, notably The Prodigy and Orbital. Deadmau5 is getting there. Royksopp sits somewhere between these two extremes. An effective amount of hardware for sequence triggering and track "embellishment" helps keep the show interesting, and the MIDI-synched beats make sure that you could dance, if you wanted to. They retain flexibility on stage by using some pre-programmed elements, notably drum loops and basslines. The "live" performers "playing" the guitar and bass took me out of the moment though, as perfectly sequenced guitar arpeggios would be nearly impossible to pull off live. Nevertheless, the show was great and I really enjoyed dancing to tunes that so many memories had been made of.
