I purchased the ticket for Friday night but then came to find out my ticket was for Saturday night. This occurred as I was in line for the show Friday night. After venting my frustration and confusion, I was told by a few other people that they clicked on Friday and it brought them to Saturday and they luckily noticed in time. Well, I was too busy at work and bought the ticket that I intended to buy. This is an error that Ticketmaster needs to correct. Show was great, but losing the money was not in the least.

When I was invited to attend this concert I only knew a few Portugal the Man songs and had never heard of the other two performing bands. After this show though, I am a definite fan of these bands. Telelkinisis had a great energy and by the second or third song I wanted to be up on the stage screaming and jumping around with them. While having the spirit of rock and rollers they were also fun to talk to and didn't seem cocky. They do what they love and it shows. Portugal the Man was absoultely AMAZING! I loved the go hard attitude they had for their set. The lights and effects were just enough and didn't seem too showy. The music is some of the best live I've seen and heard. I would love to see them again. They make the crowd want to move, or at least they should! Great transitions and again, you can tell they love what they do. Definitely see them when they come back becuase it's my understanding they come often, take advantage! I unfornuately only caught the end of Unknown Mortal Orchastra but they sounded like a band that has potential and did catch my interest so that I'll be checking them out more.

I had seen PTM a few times before but always in smaller club settings or at a large festival. The Bluebird Theater was the perfect venue for them at this point in their career. The sound was great, the set list was awesome, and the light show was very cool.

Very awesome show!! Portugal. The Man was fantastic! However could have lived without both opening bands. Telekinesis was better then Unknown Mortal Orchestra. Mortal's Orchestra should stay unknown until they learn more chord progressions and their lead singer gets a better voice. I was impressed by Telekenesis's lead singer. He had a good voice, and was able to keep it even while banging away at his drums. Portugal. The Man wowed the crowd. The music was very well put together and the set flowed well. People Say was the biggest crowd pleaser. Great show overall and great venue!

Great show at a great venue. Awesome opening acts, especially White Denim, who can definitly get a show rollin'. Portugal had a great set list, including some interesting renditions and song match-ups. Along with some trippy lights and a crap load of fog, they created a feel-good atmosphere. They played a great setlist, but for some unknown reason, they never play an songs from American Ghetto. That's why I gave the show a 4 out of 5, because I really love that CD and wanted them to play some of those songs. But great show nonetheless.

I dug the laser light show, completely unexpected. The presence of the band was beyond sexy, especially that lead singer....way too crazy sexy! They made me fall in love with them yet again. This was my fourth time seeing PTM, and the first three had a similar set list, so it was very exciting seeing them rock out with some new additions. I cried at the end when they ended with 1989. I had gone to the show to see Portugal. the Man and i was just blown away by all the other artists. Temper Trap was such an enjoyment to watch. They had such energy on the stage and gained the audiences love. It was nice that such a unique band like Nathaniel Ratecliff and the Wheel put on such an extraordinary show and then to be followed by a band that had the energy of Drug Rug. Portugal. the Man was fantastic and the violinist was an excellent addition to an already stunning lineup. Even more enjoyable was that the artists stayed around mingling with the crowd and seemed extremely approachable. The night portrayed a love and appreciation of music rather than focusing on the popularity's of the bands themselves. CMJ did a good job in choosing their lineup for this venue. I am going to another CMJ show tonight and have no doubt that I will be just as impressed by the band's chosen.

This was one of the worst shows I ve ever seen and also the saddest $50 I ve ever spent. The sound was terrible, they only played for an hour and half way through the hour there was an intermission. Half the time they were in darkness because of lighting quality. Would actually like a refund, it was that underwhelming. When you get famous it doesn t mean you have to actually perform well to get money, you have to prey upon innocent music lovers that expect a Lot more from music and think $50 will get You a decent show. Portugal. The Man was completely medeocur.

I love PTM! Seen them about 5 times now. They don t talk much, just there to play music. Just a heads up- this concert is NOT for kids. I was surprised to see quite a few kids there- I can appreciate taking your kids to shows, but I would recommend at LEAST being 16, probably older. They always tie in some old favorites to their melodies- Pink Floyd, the Beatles, etc. love them.

OK, I admit I am hooked on Feel It Still, loving that song. When you dig into them a little more, you realize how much effort they have committed with good stuff but finally hit on a big one. When you go back and check out other stuff, you wonder why or how they get overlooked. Real enjoyable show, graphics, band movements, sound, etc. I give them a 4 because I have to believe they still have an upside but glad I caught a show and love their sound.

I'll start with the good: The event location is an amazing one to hold any type of concert. The acoustics are perfect and the seating makes you feel close enough to the stage to feel VIP. Vance Joy was wonderful - very folksy and entertaining. He definitely stole the night! I was disappointed to find out that he wasn't the main act... Regarding PTM, I have been a fan of theirs for a couple of years, so I was excited to go... but honestly, I would never go to see them again. it was incredibly strange - the band played in the dark the entire time, had very weird video and graphics behind him and the music sounded rough. My friend and I left after the first 5 songs or go (I kept thinking it would get better). I NEVER leave a show... if given sleep or going to the show - choose sleep!

I'm sorry to say I did NOT enjoy this concert. As much as I like Portugal. the Man, and have previously seen them in concert, the sound at this show was unbearable. The sound guy definitely needs to get a new career. The base was so loud, so overpowering, and so painful, that I had to leave. It literally hurt my head. I was reminded of the diplomats in Cuba that got brain damage from a "sonic attack." Also, I didn't care for the creepy video images on stage. It consisted of a kaleidoscopic display of unpleasant humanoid figures.

Vance Joy was a pretty good set hitting all the highlights and adding in a few new ones that will drop w his nxt album. But P the M was a terrible show, me and my friends lft half way through the set, as did may others. We all seemed to be fighting anxiety and concern of future nightmares due to the visual effects. Each song the light show and back drop got weirder, from mannequin babies eating each other to gimp suited women birthing a globe, to mannequin lesbians falling and giving rise to more hugely chested mannequins. It was so outta sync w the music to me. I def will not recommend seeing them unless you love a creep out vibe.

The Peabody is an amazing venue but sadly the show did not live up to its surroundings. Portugal the Man live was not even close to what you sing along to your car. The bass was so loud and distorted the musicians voices were barely a peep in the background. The stage was so dark I m not really sure they were on it anyway. Friends and I decided that someone was taking some great mind altering drug while choosing the images shown, constantly and in never-ending loops, behind them. I ve seen a lot of concerts and this was the first I walked out of after only 4 songs.

I love PTMs music and was excited to see them live! However...the band sounded like they were doing mediocre covers of their own songs. The sound quality was awful; I could barely hear the singing. It was just loud, mushy noise. The band opened with a Metallica/Pink Floyd cover which turned into a long "jam session". Atomic Man was next, this too became into a long, lackluster jam session/long guitar solo.. I remained hopeful. When people started leaving after Feel It Still, it dawned on me, this show was not going to get any better. By the third jam/jumble of tunes after All Your Light, I wanted to fall asleep. The cheap CGI images on the screen behind the band were distracting and took away from the music, some bordered on distasteful. With about twenty minutes left, nearly three-quarters of the audience had taken their seats (many on their cell phones), the dancing had ceased, and those standing seemed to be dumbfounded at the act before them. The last song was an Oasis cover that was unrecognizable until the chorus, not because I am unfamiliar with the song, but because it was such a poor performance. It was the first time I had left a concert really wondering if I ever wanted to see the band again. Kudos to Vance Joy. Don't know much of his stuff but his acoustics were great; he was energetic and tried to connect with the audience. Polar opposite from PTM's performance.

The bass on the sound system was so loud it ruined the concert. You couldn't hear any of the lyrics. The seats and my body were vibrating from the bass to the point that I was getting nauseous. The strange disturbing images on the screen behind the band made it impossible for me to watch and also ruined the concert. They also had an unnecessary MC/Hype man to the right of them on stage shouting out to the crowd in between songs trying to tell everyone how amazing the concert is and when they should applause. If a concert is good the crowd knows when to applaud and doesn't need some wack hype man. I've been to around 27 concerts this year and this is the only one that I have walked out on. I can't blame Portugal, The Man for the sound system but I do blame them for the hype man and disturbing images. Bottom line, if you like Portugal, The Man don't see them live or you may not be a fan anymore, like myself.

I was really looking forward to this show for quite some time. I love their music, it's fun and overall pretty chill. I saw a few YouTube videos of their live performances and it all seemed to sound/feel like their albums. When they came out at this show, I knew I was in for trouble. They started making as much noise with their instruments as possible, covering a Metallica song. It was just that... noise. You couldn't distinguish one instrument from the other, and you couldn't hear/enjoy the lead singers unique vocal sound. This continued on for the entire show. In addition to the absurdly loud/bad sound quality, they back-lit themselves for the entire show, so you could only see their silhouettes. I hate when a band does that, if you don't want to be seen, why are you performing live. Those back-lights were incredibly bright, and strobed often. There were many people around me in the crowd that had to shield their eyes or look away. I was happy when they played their biggest hit of 2017, Feel It Still randomly in the middle of their set. Generally you have to wait for the encore for that kind of a hit. After that played, there was a mass exodus of fans that walked out, myself included. I haven't heard that much negativity after a show ever. Another complaint is they had a video board and it stated right away they aren't good at stage banter, so they just would play quotes on their board instead of actually interacting with the crowd... This makes me again say, if you don't want to be seen, and aren't comfortable with talking to a live crowd, then what are you doing touring? Just focus on writing and recording music... The good news is Vance Joy opened for him, and he was just brilliant. He sounded good, had great interaction with the crowd, and was well lit. Wish I would have just left after the opening act!

Was so excited to see PTM live; been listening to their stuff nonstop this past two weeks. Unfortunately today was such a disappointment; my husband and I ended up walking out after the 5th song because we couldn't take it anymore. The sound quality was just poor, it all just felt like VERY loud noise/instrumentation with muffled and distorted singing noises in the background, far from the melodic, layback, inventive feel of their last album. This was NOT due to lack of talent or effort, as some of the stuff they were playing was actually quite fun. Perhaps sound engineering could be revisited. There was also minimum interaction with the audience and intentionally so, as they were just dark silhouettes on the stage preceeded by a message on the screen stating that they do not do banter. This didn't bother me too much but when you add the fact that they were busting my eardrum and refusing to say hello it just made for a bad combo. There were plenty of people enjoying themselves but we also saw quite a bit of people walk out before we did.

I had been looking forward to this show since the tour had been announced, and I honestly wish I'd saved my money and stayed home. The sound quality was awful - it sounded like the band was playing at the bottom of a well, and it was difficult to distinguish between what was accidental noise, and what was feedback and interference. One song sounded like the next, and the singing was almost indistinguishable. The band announced that the drummer had flown home and the bassist was filling in for him, but it was clear they hadn't established an alternate plan in his absence. We left early, along with a large portion of the audience. I think I'll skip their next tour, if there is one.

First time seeing Portugal The Man, and they DID NOT DISAPPOINT!!!! I typically listen to metal, but still enjoy all types of music... but I was seriously blown away by P.T.M.'s live show!! (they even opened with a cover of Metallica "For Whom The Bell Tolls". The music was great & the use of projectors & lighting made the whole stage show feel like an amazing visual arts presentation. I was super impressed with the performance on all levels. So much so, that it hasn't even been a week since this show, & i've already ordered tickets to see them again in D.C. in February. The first opening band was okay but very slow paced. Lido, the second opener, seemed to be into his own thing for his own enjoyment and he was not very exciting. I am not a huge fan of a guy with a synthesizer anyway. Portugal. The man announced that their drummer, Jeremy, had to fly home for the birth of his baby and they did not want to cancel the show. Admirable, but it did not work out so well. Even though they struggled through, it felt very canned and half hearted. I could not figure out who was singing and it seemed as if they were playing pre-recorded music. The venue was sold out and a packed house and even though this was not the band's fault, the crowd was being stupid. Drunk 20 somethings and someone trying to crowd surf and falling on me. We left early. Sorry guys, but we won't try this again.

The entire event was handled to beyond my expectations. The Norva is a top notch concert space!

Fantastic performance, played nonstop for almost two hours. Opener was fun and upbeat as well. One of the few bands these days that sound even better live than recorded.

Great show, energetic crowd and an amazing atmosphere at the Wiltern; they are the type of live act that you can go see even if you don't know a lot of the their music and have a great night. Highly recommended and don't wait because they likely won't be playing in small theaters much longer.

As titled, this tour has a great stage show which enhances the very tight performance by the band.

I honestly don't know how the band was able to breathe, let alone sing with the hyperactive fog machine rendering them completely invisible on stage for 95% of the show. It made for some pretty cool lighting effects, but was also distracting after a while. For me, live music in small venues like House of Blues is about connecting with the band physically as well as audibly, and the excessive fog made that impossible. I felt like they were purposely creating a barrier between themselves and the audience, which was a little alienating. This band is new to me, so I don't have their catalog of music memorized. What I heard, I thoroughly enjoyed, with the exception of their foray into the land of the Beatles. I can appreciate paying homage to a point, so I dealt with the cliche of them transitioning their final song into the chorus of Hey Jude. Little did I know they would add insult to injury by coming back onstage and performing Helter Skelter for their sole encore. Really guys?? You have a few albums of your own and you feel it necessary to end the show by playing back to back Beatles songs? Boo. That's not the music I came there to hear. Overall, I recommend checking out Portugal. The Man. Just be forewarned if you have any respiratory issues...

Reminds me of the good ol' days of PTM... I can still remember how I got hooked to these guys. I had never seen a band before tell the Metro Lighting Director to KEEP THEM OFF. They played that night (and probably that tour with THURSDAY) with their very limited can lighting. Sets the mood just right for a memorable performance! I'm sure many of the teeny boppers with their cell phones recording every aching moment, yet I am not allowed to bring in a simple Nikon small lens camera. I love the era of technology we live in. I can remember the 90's where cameras were allowed, because they were the size of a brick (standard). BLAH BLAH BLAH

I've been a fan of Portugal. The Man since their early days and have waited so long to see them live. They put on a flawless, crowd-pleasing show. The energy was great, the lights were mesmerizing, and the setlist was perfect.

The small, intimate atmosphere of the venue is incredible, especially for such an Amazing band! The sound was great and the lights and lasers were just completely well choreographed. I will be attending this venue again and I will be seeing this band again...FO SHO!!!

For the first show of the season at Thompson s Point this show lacked the energy I was expecting and was also a pretty short show. Based on this performance id be hesitant to see this band again live.

Always love the venue, but this concert fell short.... Portugal the man never spoke to the audience once, not once! The guitarist was the only one that spoke and was taking frequent breaks on stage to chug a fifth of something....Been to alot of shows and this will go down as a nice night out at Thompson's point, but a poor show.....

I saw the boys in 2014 and they were good, but they've truly gotten amazing. Their visuals are almost unparallelled for alt rock/pop. Boundless energy, you can tell they love being on stage, a great mix of old and new music and covers, and a truly emotional ending. Go see these guys.

PTM killed it last Sunday in Columbus, OH. BUT...they played a ridiculously short 1 hour 20 minute set. And the opening act, Jack Harlow, who is a no talent white rapper from Louisville, was horrible. No business being on that stage whatsoever. Given the ticket price, it was hard to feel satisfied with such a small proportion of good music compared to time spent at the venue.

If you thought they were a pop band, you should have seen them this night. They tore it up, mashed a lot good old music into some of their own, sounded great. Trippy light show. I will go see them again next chance I get.

They rocked but their graphics were weird and dark in nature...and never ending. It's too bad because the videos distracted from the band.

First time in Reno in a long time, first time at the Grand Theatre. Opener Cherry Glazerr OK. Didn't know any of their songs, but they did put their heart into their performance. Portugal. The Man, told everyone upfront that there would be minimum crowd interaction from them, all of the communication was accomplished via graphics and signs. That said, it was a great concert, they played practically nonstop, with no breaks. Their set was unusual, in that they didn't wait to play their hits towards the end, or during the encore, but played "Live in the Moment" early in the show. "Feel it Still" was played later in the set. Sound level was great, one could hear the notes vibrate through one's body. A word about the venue. Grand Theatre is a good place for a show. I do wish that the pitch of the seats was steeper between rows, as it was quite easy to be blocked by someone in front (and I'm not a short person). That said seats were comfortable, and there were bars on the left and right side of the theatre.

Low energy, hardly played any songs, disappointed. Too many guitar solos, we get it you can play, but you left your aidience and the people who bought your new album out of what couldve been a good performance.

I bought these tickets 3 months in advance and couldn't wait for the show, but it was a let down. Not knowing much about Local Natives, they had a good energy to them, sharing little stories about their music, getting into the crowd, dancing on stage and they generally seemed excited to be there. I had assumed they were the opener but they played just as long as PTM did in the end. PTM just seemed to be going through the motions, is the best way I can describe it. They came on stage playing Metallica and then transitioned into Pink Floyd, which I can appreciate, though I'd rather have seen them play two more of their own songs. They hardly addressed the crowd, and as my bf described, seemed to be "bored up there." I understand not all bands sound live like they do on their albums, but they sounded like a poor cover band of themselves. Every instrument seemed slightly off from what it should have sounded like, even the keyboard was barely audible, and John's voice was muffled at times. They also had some weird graphics that seemed like they were going for shock value with, like girls in bondage throwing up into each other's mouths, that I felt kinda took away from the show. I didn't find it offensive, but it just didn't have anything to do with what they were playing. I'd give them another chance, but this was a bummer.

The show was awesome -- Benjamin Booker started things off with a good, appropriately long set (about 6 songs?), made for a relaxing way to start off. We got to the Greek right before they went on, and the music wasnt too loud to just hang and chat a bit. Local Natives played an awesome set, but it went on a little too long. having two openers can mean a long show, but at a venue with strict sound ordinances like the Greek, it meant Portugal. the Man had to play a shorter set. It felt like their set was about as long as Local Natives' set. P.tM put on an awesome show -- i was hoping to get more off their newest record though. they had 4 covers over the course of their set, and it left me wanting more of their music. OVERALL AN AMAZING SHOW -- i love all the bands that played and this show made me love 'em even more :)
