First off, The House of Blues is a great Venue for a concert. Casual polite crowd, easy access to beer and you can see great everywhere. We walked right in and planted ourselves four deep from the stage right in front of Joe. Blackstone Cherry was a good warm up band. They came on like they were shot out of a cannon. The veterans took the staged and proceeded to amaze the crowd with an epic display of showmanship and talent crafted over many years. I don;t have enough positive adjectives to explain what a fantastic night it was and how talented these guys are. They all worked so hard to put on the best show possible and the sound was amazingly tight. I will see these guys every chance i get. Thanks for letting me come to your party Chickenfoot!

The crowd, like the band was a bit older than the ones I remember in my youth. Age did not stop the crowd from enjoying a night of music just as vivacious and energetic as ever there was. The biggest problems with outdoor concerts are local laws limiting volume. This was not a problem for Chickenfoot. The sound was big, booming, and crunchy. Satriani was amazing to watch; fast and innovative. Hagar's power and range belie his nearly 63 years. Smith and Anthony's rhythm hold up the songs so well that my feet never stopped moving for the entire set.

i flew down to vegas saturday morning from seattle and came back home sunday night, just to see Chickenfoot. the trip was well worth every dollar i spent, and i spent a lot of dollars. ive seen sammy roughly 12 times now but this was the first time with his new band Chickenfoot and he did not dissapoint! Joe Satriani was exactly as i expected from all the hype that i heard of him. he was amazing, incredible, crazy, awesome...(Eddie, watch out!)....I'm so glad i saw this amazing "best new rock band" and i advise anyone who likes/loves good rock-n-roll and awsome guitar playing to see them if they go back on tour next year.

I've seen only 20-ish concerts in my 43 years, and this one blew me away. I've always like Sammy, and grey up on Van Halen, but when you put the guitar talent of Joe Satriani in with the best vocals, Sammy Hagar, and back vocals of Michael Anthony, and drummer Chad Smith ... what you get is an incredible rock n roll band. The band obviously enjoyed themselves, and it showed in their music. My 19 year old son and his old man had the night to remember! Thank you!

Sammy, Michael, Satch and Chad tore the house down...literally! The show was musically stellar front to back. I have to give it to Chad. Being a drummer myself who likes to hook in with the crowd, Chad was giving lessons. He must have thrown out 40 sticks in the middle of songs throughout the show and never missed a beat. Satch was spot on. Michael was outstanding and great fun as always and Sammy was as the ulimate front man and sang his butt off. This band was hooked into the crowd and the party all night long. The finale when Jason Bonham got behind the drums and Chad picked up a guitar to play Led Zeplin's Rock n Roll "for dad" brought the house down! The party concluded with Jason and Chad dismanteling the kit in true rockstar fashion. These guys make YOU a part of their band and party. WHAT A GREAT SHOW!!

These guys were absolutely amazing!!! Sammy's voice, of course, rocked the house. We were right up front as usual (I am a HUGE Sammy fan). We were in front of Joe, and this guy is an incredible guitar player. We have never seen Joe before and we were definitely pleased. Chad and Michael were able to come somewhat over to our side, so we got some awesome pictures. Will definitely been seeing them whenever they come back to town (or nearby). Am willing to drive anywhere to see them!!!! If you haven't seen them yet, you need to plan on it. You will not be disappointed.

Chickenfoot -- I wasn't sure WHAT to expect. I hadn't heard ANY of their stuff until the trip up (by design), so I was wide open to what I might see and hear. Man oh man! It was a given that I was going to see Queensryche for the first time, BUT my second objective was to see Joe Satriani being the guitar guy. WOW! I heard more than one person wondering aloud whether "he can measure up to Eddie," and -- HUH? Are you KIDDING me? Wow -- Joe is so far out there that no amount of rehab will give Eddie a shot at matching his lead riffs. I don't mean to be cruel or dismissive -- I only mean to say that Joe was THAT on. What struck me was his attitude about just being the lead player and not the star -- he was loving it, and the entire band was playing off of that sassiness. Of course, Chad walked in the room with that same attitude, Sammy had a shot (no -- a bottle) of Cabo Wabo (STRANGE that it was the only tequila for sale in the house! hahahaha) and Michael Anthony stepped WAY up in holding down the bottom for this stellar cast. We split at the end of the regular set, but heard Montrose's "Paper Money" on the way out the door. Haven't had that much fun since seeing Pat Travers Band's new lineup at the Jumping Turtle! I kid you not. WOW --- If they're headed your way, GO. Even if you're on the fence, go anyway. Oh wait -- they DID mention that tomorrow in LA is their last show. Well, if you're there, GO! They hinted that they'll be back . . . stay tuned and DON'T miss 'em next time!

Best Sammy performance I have seen. These guys ROCK !!!!!! Tight!! Looking forward to next Album.............
The concert was great but for $325 per ticket, it would have been nice to have had a seat. We didn't know until we picked up our tickets at Will Call that it was standing room for the pit area. Would I do it again -- in a minute!!
What an awesome show! The Greek has to be one of my favorite venues because it's in Berkeley and the outdoor setting is spectacular on a nice night, like it was on Friday. CHICKENFOOT delivered a top notch show as expected and it was great to see Joe perform his guitar wizardry up close and in person (a first for me!). I really enjoyed their show and got the sense the band were really enjoying themselves too. What an All-Star band! Chad Smith is one of the best drummers in rock and it was great to get one of his drumsticks. I thought Sammy sounded and looked great! I can't believe he is 60! The Red Rocker is ageless! Seeing QUEENSRYCHE was simply the icing on the cake for me. Geoff Tate sounded superb and I loved hearing some of my favorites from Empire. They played some obscurities, like "Another Rainy Night Without You" that I hadn't heard live before. They played other classics from Empire like "Jet City Woman". All-in-all it was a great night for quality Rock & Roll!
This was an incredible show by Chickenfoot. They played their entire CD plus some. I was fortunate enough to get the backstage tour and front row in the pit for the show. Got one of Chad Smith's drum heads signed in his own blood. Sammy, Joe, Michael, and Chad were all incredible both individually and as a group. I still keep thinking of random things that each one did during the show that brings a smile to my face. I've seen a lot of concerts in my life, including Monsters of Rock when Sammy first joined VH and this topped them all. The world better hope that they do a second CD and another tour. If you missed this tour, you better pray for Round 2. Sammy, nice cover on Cabo Living.....Joe, your Aussie friend Roo was a blast to hang with in the front row.......Chad, thanks for signing my drum head......Michael, you need to get that crazy hat from Sammy! Look forward to seeing all of you again....maybe in Cabo in October.
The whole package was great! Davy Knowles, Queensryche, and then Chickenfoot. All of them...Sammy Hagar, Michael Anthony, Chad Smith, and Joe Satriana were playing for us...their fans. They are truly a down-to-earth group and it reminded me of the "old days" when you'd watch your friends jamming at the local music store. Since Sammy is from Fontana I am sure he spent some time at Liers (or Leers) music store in San Bernardino. That's where all the local bands played. It was a great jamfest!
Opening band Queensryche was a nice surprise. I did not look ahead of time to see who was opening. They still put on a great show, spectacular music. They had an acoustic performer David, sorry I forgot his last name, from England who was incredible. Rivals Eddie Van Halen on acoustic. Chickenfoot was everything I expected plus more. Great levels and balance in sound. It was not too loud like most rock shows. Fantastic energy by all of the guys. They really enjoy playing, being there, and it shows.
I am a huge Satriani fan and this group was great. I saw the show at the Filmore and it was fun, but rough. This show was tight. The band was tight. The music was tight. The sound was great. The venue (the Greek Theater) was also great.
QueensRyche set the stage and was an awesome opening act. As soon as ChickenFoot came onto the stage they brought the energy to the crowd who went wild. It was an amazing showing, I highly recommend the concert to see some of the hottest musicians rocking the stage together.
Sammy stole the job! They did their CD, and Bad Motor Scooter. Simple stage but they were obviously having a great time up on the stage! Joe S was on his game.
This was my 1st time at the Greek Theatre. Berkeley is an entertaining place in itself! If you have a respiratory condition, ensure you bring an inhaler! It is a steep walk up to the theatre. If you are seated in the back sections without folding chairs, bring something to sit on. The shape of the theatre is cool...it pretty much has great seating everywhere eliminating huge TV screens. It is an intimate and interesting venue. I really enjoyed the show. The performances were phenomenal! The lighting and sound was excellent! A young fellow played guitar prior to Queensryche's opening. I believe his name is Knowles. I enjoyed his guitar playing and vocal performance. Queensryche's lead vocalist actually sings and doesn't scream...great to hear rockers actually sing! His daughter came out and did a brief vocal. I presume he is encouraging her. I approve of anyone encouraging a young person's desire for art...in almost all of it's forms! Chickenfoot was impressive. I will admit this was my 1st time seeing them. I loved the instrumental...the vocals...the performance. Sammy Hagar...has every bit of Rock still Rolling through his veins, vocally, instrumentally and as a showman. Joe Satriani's becomes one with his instrument. When he plays his guitar, the audience wails with each note he holds on it. Captures the soul of every person. I LOVED the drums and bass guitar. Chad Smith and Michael Anthony were showmen in their own right. When Chad picked up Satriani's guitar...that was entertaining indeed. Michael Anthony's bassline was impressive and complimented every instrument in the band. I went to the show alone. I enjoyed myself and walked away feeling I had definately gotten my money's worth! Thank you for gracing us with your talents~

Last night's Chickenfoot show was one of those lifetime events that will forever change me. These guys are four of the music world's most talented artists. Together in this band, they are an unstoppable force onstage that exudes fun, good times hard work and synergy. They feed off each other during their performance and look like a bunch of as Sammy said, "the most happiest guys on earth". I saw them at the Fillmore show and I have to say that both shows were unforgettable. This one at the Berkeley Greek was one of a kind though. They were loose and tight as a band at the same time. Their spontaneity was seen as they jammed out solo after solo and extra grooves at the end of all their songs. I couldn`t ever look away, even when the lights went down cause I didn`t want to miss a second of what was coming next. I hope they do this again in the Bay Area. I'm gonna say it.......Chickenfoot is the most phenominal band each one of these guys has ever been in. Yes, I SAID IT!

I had never seen Queensryche live before and I was duly impressed by how solid they and theatrical they are. The song with the lead singer's daughter was absolutely beautiful to watch. Chickenfoot is hands down the most amazing foursome that has come along in years. It will be a shame for Chad Smith to have to leave the group to go back to the Chili Peppers - what a choice to make. Both great bands. Joe, Michael, and Chad truly shine under Sammy Hagar's leadership as a consummate rock star.

What a combination......these guys play like they have played together for years. Satriani has been an icon in the guitar world for decades. Surfing with an alien was my favorite album. Anthony kicked ass in van halen for decades, and still rocks. Chad Smith, i really didn't know who he was until a month ago. Chili Peppers? how can you go wrong, another kick ass band. Sammy Hagar......there are a lot of people that don't like his work.....I can't figure out why. Since the 70's he has put out album's that have had songs that i can relate to. "i'll fall in love again", "bad motor scooter", "Eagle's Fly", the list goes on and on. thru the years of sammy hagar, and van halen, i have seen many shows. Sammy has an energy that can not be explained. when he gets on stage...the crowd goes nuts! I love it......can't wait for my next show.

As a long time (39 year) Montrose / VH / Satch fan, I came to this show from Salt Lake City Utah with much anticipation. Was I ever glad I did. These are the consummate pros. From Joe's scathing guitar licks to Kenny's constant rhythm supremacy to Sammy's stunning vocal gymnastics and Michael's high harmonies and bottom pounding bass playing, the Chickens rule the roost. Not a moment of disappointment. The venue rocked, the sound was astonishing, and the crowd was in the palm of this Supergroups hand. To see pro musicians having such a good time is contagious. The show itself (theatrics, production) was indeed no frills. Would not have it any other way. I too am in my 50's, and when these boys march out their next tour, you'd best believe I'll be in the audience screaming like I did when such songs as "Space Station #5", "Atomic Punk", and "Ice 9" fell on this bassists ears. Thanks boys! Remarkable!

This had to be one of the top 10 concerts I've been to. It was better than I expected; everyone was on their A game. I held off seeing Chicken foot at other venues because I knew eventually they would come to the Beacon Theater. I had first row Loge seats which are in my opinion the best seats in the house. The house sound I give a B- because I've heard better (back on the 90's), but I've also heard worse. The sound in most concert venues has gotten worse over the years. Kudos to Chicken foot for putting on the show me and my friend were waiting for. I was also with two other dudes who never heard Chicken foot before and they say it was one of the best concerts they've seen. I would see them again if they came around again at the Beacon or at Westbury.

Truly amazing show. Sammy Hagar is a rock legend and his voice is still superb even after all these years. Michael Anthony's background vocals are just as strong as ever and his energy level high. I thought Kenny Arnoff did an amazing job filing in for Chad Smith. I never really followed Joe Satriani much prior to Chickenfoot, but he isan awesome guitar player. We were in the front row right near him. He made playing the guitar look effortless and puts this band over the top

This was an absolutely unforgettable show. High energy, kicking bass Anthony and drums by Kenny Aronoff, Satriani (Smoking Satch) and Hagar. This has to be one of the BEST shows I have ever seen!!! (and trust me, I've seen many over the past 35 years) One of the huge highlights was Chad Smith making a "guest" appearance on drums. A freshly caught Chad drumstick has a place of honor in my home. Sammy on vocals sounded awesome...per usual. Think I'll have a nice Cabo Wabo and reminisce...chased with a Modelo. Thanks guys for an unforgettable show!!!

Once again Chickenfoot rocked the Jersey Shore with a good mix of the first and second chickenfoot albums. Sammy Hagar is truly the most energetic, fun and talented rock star of my generation. I'm 55 years old and he inspires we Baby Boomers to be the best we can be at whatever our jobs/careers are! I took my 28-year old son to the show and he dug it as much as I did! Chickenfoot sounded great and the fellas look like they are having so much fun when they are playing. It was touching to see how genuinely grateful Sammy is for his career-long support from his fans in St. Louis. The only downside was that Chad Smith wasn't behind the drums due to his Chili Pepper's gig. Kenny Aronoff did a great job...but I wanted to see Chad live on drums. Thanks KSHE and thanks Pageant...you never disappoint!

I have been fortunate enough to see Chickenfoot in Chicago and now in STL where Sammy seems to be very partial to STL fans. I know that he doesn't want to steal the spotlight from the rest of Chickenfoot members, but he is much more interacting with the crowd when he is with the Waboritos. He signs everything and makes it personal when he returns the items back to the fan. He did signed a few things Friday night, but left the others to be discarded after the show was over. I gave my last signed KSHE Sammy t-shirt to a dying fan a few years ago, which she was buried in btw, and so I was on a mission to get my original Chickenfoot t-shirt autographed when he picked it up swung it around and hung it on Michael Anthony's mic. As I hoped and tried many times to hand him a Sharpie, he didn't respond and I left without my unsigned shirt. Brrrrrrrr it was cold on the ride home. All in all, I love Sammy and will never miss a chance to see him. Rock on Chickenfoot!!!!

This concert was well worth the reasonably ticket price. Sammy always puts on a great show; but this Super Band took it to a whole other level. To top it all off, the weather was perfect at the Harvey's Outdoor Amphitheater in Lake Tahoe.

The most incredible band in a very very long time performing, yes performing from the heart. These guys have an awesome time together and it shows through the music they make. Every member brings 110% to the stage. I had the pleasure to see them on the First and Last US shows for this tour. Can't wait until the next album. Thank You Sammy, Mike, Chad & Joe

I'm 19 and didn't really get into classic rock until about 4-5 years ago. I'm a big chili peppers fan though and I also love what i've seen of Joe Satriani so my dad and I went since he was a big Van Halen fan. This concert was unbelievable. The opening act was Davy Knowles and the Back Door Slam and these guys know how to rock but it wasn't until Chickenfoot came out that I was really blown away. These guys put on a killer show. The songs were fantastic and the energy was pumped up all the way to the end. I couldn't believe how these guys in their 50's and 60's could put on such a sweet show. Joe Satriani was a beast on the guitar and I swear Chad Smith threw at least 100 drumsticks into the audience. The venue was great too. I've never been to such a fantastic theatre. Every single seat at Nokia Theatre is a great seat...we were 15 rows back, but even at the top you could have a great view. Would definitely go again!

Nokia Theatre in Grand Prairie has awesome clarity of sound. The second Chickenfoot hit the stage, the crowd was up and never went back down. Totally Rocking the whole way thru. The way the band clicks and plays off of each other was very entertaining to say the least! They poured the soul of Rock n Roll into the performance! ROCK ON!!!

Go see Chickenfoot: 4 master musicians jam for a night of straight-forward rock and roll. It appears that these guys are good friends that enjoy hanging out together and just letting it rip--no egos, no 'watch me' solos, no BS--just extremely talented musicians enjoying what they do together. And the proof is in the way the band plays live---stronger than the album. If you think that seeing Chickenfoot is going to be like watching a rehash of Van Hagar, Satchmo, Van Halen, and Red Hot Chili Peppers--then you will surprised to hear that this is a sound all its own that incorporates the talents of all 4 members. Chickenfoot delivers.

It's so awesome to be at a concert with four icons of Rock-n-Roll jamming, playing, partying all in the name of fun & friendship instead of the almighty dollar! These guys are worth WAY MORE and could have asked for alot more than the ticketprice paid. But they were more interested in sharing the chemistry they found playing mysic together as a band. Truly a stellar ROCKSTAR performance and 5-star event!!

I arrived 2 1/2 hours before the general admission show, and got right up in front! From the moment the band walked on the stage, it was an all out rock and roll fiesta! Song after song was belted out, Sammy, Michael, Joe & Chad kept the pavilion rockin'! It was by far the best show I've seen this year. We sang along with every song, and the band never let up! On a scale of 1-100 (100 being the best), this show scored a 1000!!! I was pelted with guitar picks and drum sticks, bonus for the attendee's! It was the best party of the year and I was there - these guys know how to throw one ... BIG TIME! I just want to thank the guys for coming to town and satisfying our every rock 'n roll desire - in spades!

Last nights event was one of the best experiences I have ever had. I purchased my tickets through ticketmaster and had them sent to "will call". Upon arriving at the venue the staff was quick to locate my ticket and get me on my way. Once I entered the gates Rich our tour guide for the backstage experience was the most professional, efficient, well mannered, polite individual I could ask for. He showed us around and catered to us to the fullest of his capability's. Both bands, Davy Knowles and Chickenfoot were excellent on time and very responsive with the crowd. I would recommend seeing them if they come by your town !

Chickenfoot live in Tahoe was absolutely amazing. Sammy's voice sounded great and his screams were right on! Joe sounded great on the guitar and so did Michael on bass. Chad was awesome as well; he went crazy constantly throwing out LOTS of sticks!! Chickenfoot pulls together each of the members talents-and you know they are having FUN and love what they do best- ROCK N ROLL!

I've been to many concerts over the past 15 years all ranging from classic rock to hard rock to death metal to country to R&B, you name it. Chickenfoot hand's down played the best show I ever seen or heard. Never have I seen a band have so much fun on stage, play so perfectly and get the crowd going like they did. I have no basis for comparison, they were that good. I'm going to see them again on the 25th in Berkeley :)

I'm old & grew up in LA. Not counting Disco & contemporary crap I've seen it all. This was the best example I've seen of the spirit of what R & R is supposed to be about. Joe & Sammy banged my brain, Chad & Mike banged my chest. I haven't been thumped like that for many years. Sammy must have had his throat re-incarnated. Joe is truly the Teacher. Learn young axemen. Wouldn't it be something if Alex hooked up when Chad goes back to the Peppers?

If you haven't been to Harvey's Outdoor Arena you are missing a gem. Set behind the casiono, it's a small intimate arena. The sound was great and the place was clean with plenty of services. Sammy and the boys played their entire CD before they took a break. Every song performance was great. The energy between all 4 members was evident from the first note. These guys like each other and love to play on stage. The encore started with Sammy alone playing the slide guitar intro to Bad Motor Scooter. The show ended with Chad Smith turning over his drum set, standing on the floor tom holding his high hat over his head. The 2 hours went by too quick. Chickenfoot is a crowd pleasing band. This is what concerts are about.

Great show.Very fun. But I always feel short changed for a 1.5hr setlist. They should have played Immigrant song and Boris the Spider in full instead of teasing us.They should have also played My Generation in full and stretched the jam section. It would have also been nice to see them do a Surfing with the Alien jam, or a RHC cover. Add in a couple obscure Sammy tunes or HSAS tunes that have not been played in years. like Cruisin and Boozin, or Space station #5, or This Planets on Fire,or from HSAS Maybe Top of the Rock or My Home Town.

I loved this concert! They were so entertaining and into the crowd! I highly recommend anyone going to see them! I didn't even know all the words to the songs yet and still loved them! Since then I play the cd constantly and have learned the words and want to go see them again. Sammy Hagar is a great guy and silly as ever and Chad Smith fell over his drums(on purpose) and crushed them and threw one into the crowd! He also threw 56 signed drumsticks into the crowd! Two of my friends caught one! It was awesome!!!!! Joe Satriani was amazing on the guitar playing with his teeth and 2 guitars at a time! And you gotta love Micheal Vincent!

Enjoyed the concert but it was lacking something...edginess maybe. Unfortunately those songs are not great, but they're certainly passable. Also, it was very unfortunate that the sound quality for this show was terrible. Satriani's guitar parts were usually overwhelmed by the sheer volume of background NOISE. Rock-n-roll needs to be played loud but the volume should've been turned down about 50 decibels so that the quality of the playing could be discerned above the roar.

I thought rock and roll might be dead. Chickenfoot convinced me otherwise. The show is pure rock and roll energy. I thought the album was pretty good, not great, but good. After seeing the show I now see what the band is trying to accomplish. This is music that is meant to be HEARD! These guys have nothing to prove to anyone but themselves and they do it.

Davy Knowles and Back Door Slam started off the evening with a nice set of Blues Rock based on his influences (Eric Clapton, John Mayall, Rory Gallagher). His choice in guitars (Paul Reed Smith) is similar to that of Opeth and Paul Allender of Cradle of Filth in that they have outstanding tone whether clean or distorted. Davy's set was the standard 30 minutes, but I wished it was longer so I could have heard more. Chickenfoot has gotten more than its share of bad press, partially due to the "super group" moniker and unrealistically high expectations by some, while others think some of the songs are lame. Sammy Hagar addressed why Chickenfoot even exists as a band during the show where he said words to the effect of "We want to play old style rock and roll with a modern twist." He went on to say that there were no outside influences on them to record anything other than what they wanted to record. The songs are simple and fun; I don't see anything wrong with that. In some ways Chickenfoot reminds me of The Supersuckers, bands that can play some serious music without taking themselves too seriously. The show was fun not only for the audience, but the band as well. Sammy and Chad were cutting up with each other and the audience between songs. Michael Anthony's backup vocals were as good as they were when I saw him as part of Van Halen 31 years ago, when I saw them as the warmup for Black Sabbath. Joe Satriani's guitar playing was as clean as Jeff Beck and Buckethead, and Chad's drumming was excellent. Sammy showed off his skills as singer and guitar player during the just under two hour show where they played most of their first CD live, a little bit of the "Immigrant Song" by Led Zeppelin and their version of The Who's "My Generation". I look forward to hearing more from the band because I think they have a lot to offer and hope to see them in a smaller, more rock friendly venue.

It is great to hear Sammy still has an unbelievable rock and roll voice. As a fan of the album, it was great to hear it in it's entirety. As a Van Halen fan, a little disappointed with no songs. But the evening was a great rock n roll experience. As Sammy said last night, "We just wanted to record some songs that don't sound like the same crap you've been listening to for 20 years". Mission accomplished. Fresh sound, Joey was great on the guitar. Michael played a great bass, and Chad was thunderous and entertaining. I'm jealous of the maybe 50 people who got to catch one of his drumsticks.

The charisma was awesome between the band. They played like they've been together for years. The songs were delivered in typical Red Rocker fashion but then backed with the Silver Surfer's vibrato & whammy bar howls, Michael Anthony and Chad Smith laid down a bass line and groove you could land a 747 on. This is definitely not a Van Hagar spin off. I've never seen a drummer throw so many sticks into the audience.

What can i say. What an amazing show. should have known better than to listen to a writer from the New York Post who said he saw them at the Beacon theater. in NYC. He gave them a horrible review saying that they did gel together on stage and they tried to show each other up. I don't know who the hell he saw but it clearly was not the same band. I saw them on 8/20 at Mohegan Sun and They looked great together. Like they had been at it for years. The sound was awsome. And they kept the crowd into it all night long. wating for them to announce more dates. Wish i could remember the guy's name so i could write him a review back.
