I liked the Alamodome venue overall. It was my first trim to SanAntonio and to the Alamo Bowl. The game turned out great with 2 top 15 teams going at it. What I was disappointed with is that we had to stand outside in the rain and cold until 2 hours before kickoff. It was very rainy and uncomfortable and I thought that the Alamodome management could have let us in much sooner considering the weather. At the Cotton bowl - ATT stadium 2 days earlier the stadium was open practically 8 hours prior to game time.

I had no issue with the game other than Oregon losing, but it was but it was a hard fought long game. My issue I has more with the Alamo Dome. Online It said there were smoking patios. So tell me why security confiscated 2 packs of cigarettes from my wife's purse.

This was our first bowl game, and in most regards it was an enjoyable experience -- nice setting in a pleasant city with attractions in walking distance, affordable tickets, good view angles despite sitting high in the nosebleed section, etc. However, it was missing one important component: a sense of rivalry. A good three quarters of the spectators were Oklahoma State fans, and the Arizona presence was all but lacking. This largely negated the sense of excitement from two teams and their backers coming into contact. It was almost as if OSU was playing an exhibition game rather than a post-season bowl. This was hardly OSU's fault, but the organizers should try to set up a matchup that will draw fans from both teams, not just one. (Disclaimer: we weren't fans of either team, just interested in seeing a bowl game; OSU fans might not see things the same way.)

The Alamo Dome was a great site for a football game. It always makes the experience better when your team wins, but the venue was great for the game and San Antonio is a fun city to visit.

Other than the outcome, it was great. We parked for free on the street. There weren't many pre-game activities, but Arizona didn't travel well this year. There isn't a bad seat in the arena. The Alamodome was in great shape.

It seems to me the games between the Big 10 and Big 12 were much more exciting than this one between the Big 12 and the PAC 10. I guess the change was due to economics, but I prefer seeing a Big 10 team play.

The game it's self was great to watch. But the vendor set up for a 65k person crowd was AWFUL! Stood in line for 40 mins to get a Coke for my son but only 5 mins to get a beer for myself and my husband. The stadium and its staff seemed very unprepared for a crowd of that size.

The game was great, 3 over times and TCU won against Oregon. The temperature in the dome was okay. It was a little warm but I didn't mind since it was cold outside. There was plenty of security inside and outside of the stadium so that was nice. It was about 8 dollars a beer and 6 dollars for a fountain drink, little expensive but it's about the same as every other game I've been to. (AT&T Center in Dallas Cowboys and San Antonio Spurs, Memorial Stadium in Nebraska) The prices were about the same. It was a great atmosphere, I loved how loud the crowd was. Overall I had a great time and I would go again in a heart beat. We couldn't see reviews on the Video board which I wasn't happy about. Other than that it was great, I would give it about 4.5 out of 5 stars. They loose half a star for not showing reviews on the video board.

The venue was not equipped to handle the amount of people that were at the game. Concession lines took a quarter of the game. Seriously, I missed an entire quarter of the game waiting to get my family hot dogs.

I really enjoyed the entire venue. Access to the seats and rest rooms were reasonable. My view of the videoboard was obstructed, but I was able to see the entire field. My only complaint was that the concessions were slow to process people and I don't think they had enough spots open.

The gates opened to all tailgaters at 10am, so we got there at 9 and were some of the first in line. We easily found a place park and set up. Friends of ours even found off-site parking in walking distance, but they had to pay $40 to park. The tailgating was a blast, even though the weather was cold and wet for the second consecutive year. This discouraged most of the crowd from not showing as you may imagine. As the game drew near, we packed up and went in. We ended up getting seats in the upper level, but it really wasn't a bad view. I took photos with my iPhone and they turned out decent. The game was awesome. This is the 5th (1995, 2007, 2013, 2014, 2015) Alamo Bowl that I have attended and the best yet. The stadium is a great venue, the city is easy to navigate, the people are generally nice.

The game was fantastic!!! My boys were pulling for separate teams and both got quite a show! The merchandise vendor was very rude and really upset my son. He wanted the last Oregon hat on display. The lady said she couldn't sell it but as soon as we walked away she sold it to an older man. What a way to crush a 10 yr old! I confronted her and we got no apology! Lines at the concession stands were way too long!!!!

The game was one of the best CFB games I have seen in many years. A three-OT thriller and a 31-point deficit completely erased. Awesome!! Now for the venue critique: It took almost an hour to get into the venue, and that is with them having all the doors open to allow people access. The security screening took entirely too long and no one was in a hurry to speed things up, despite the cold, drizzly, windy conditions that people had to stand in. The Alamodome has hosted this game since 1993, and still cannot seem to figure out how to expedite security screening that has been in place since 9/11/2001. Pi$$-poor!! Concessions--OMG!! We were on the upper-level, section 339, and the concession offerings were extremely limited, for one thing. Ok...not a really big deal. But....I stood in line for almost an hour, and moved exactly 15 feet, putting me about halfway to the counter to place an order!!!!!! There were four people working the stand, one for each window, and no one was in a rush to fulfill orders or move things along quickly. In addition, there were complaints from patrons that the stands were running out of food items....keep in mind, this is midway through the second quarter approaching halftime, and food is already out of stock?? There was no sense of urgency upon the part of any worker to speed up, nor did the manager of that stand seem the least bit concerned, nor did he at any time make any effort to get his people to expedite faster. I observed this to also be the case at another stand in close proximity....in fact, it seemed to pretty much be the case at every stand, even before the game started. Again, Alamo Bowl officials have hosted this game since 1993, and on top of that, knew that this one was a near sell-out....and that a team with a HUGE traveling base (TCU) was coming. This was not a surprise, and there should have been no reason for this type of horsesh!+ concession stand service at any place within the venue. For comparison, we attended the GoodYear Cotton Bowl a couple of nights earlier, and that crowd was 84,000-plus, and the wait time at concessions was never more that 5-10 minutes, if that. To have this game for this many years, and still not have it figured out as far as security screenings, and concessions are concerned, is a huge disappointment and an embarrassment to the bowl game venues. There is no excuse for the wait times at such an event....especially when the amount of people expected is pretty much known well in advance. Not planning on a return visit to this venue until it is updated, and the service issues are addressed and dealt with accordingly. Save the money...spend it on a ticket to a Spurs game, or go see another bowl game....if coming to this one, one is likely to spend the time watching it on the monitor while just trying to get a burger and a soda.

The game was fantastic, but my first visit to the Alamodome was very disappointing from a refreshment perspective. The kickoff was at 545 pm, so our family decided to eat at the game. Big mistake. The promised sausage area was nowhere to be found and the lines for food were long and moved VERY slowly. I was ok with paying stadium food prices, but I'm not going to buy a ticket to a football game and then spend an hour of the game standing in line for a burger or a hot dog. There were many beer stands, but most of them were inoperable. They said the beer lines "froze up". I've talked to other people since the game who said this has happened to them at the Alamodome, too. I'm a patient guy, not that picky, and do not complain lightly.

When I read reviews, they are either glowing or negative. This one will have both. First the good. The stadium is beautiful. We sat on the 4th row in a 300 level section behind an endzone. We could see the entire game without any obstructions. I believe there isn't a bad seat in the house. The sound quality in the stadium is great and the video boards enhanced the game instead of distracting from it (like where the Dallas Cowboys play). We took the VIA to the stadium. It was unbelievably convenient - coming and going. The stadium doors were opened two hours before the game which gave plenty of time to get t-shirts and roam around the stadium taking pictures with the family. I did not like that the seats did not have cup holders or arm rests. It was difficult to juggle food and drink in the lap. I am guessing that cup holders would somehow reduce the number of seats they can cram into the building. The worst part of the experience was the concessions. Before the game started, we went to the concession area nearest to our 300 level seats. Of the 4 concession stands at that location, only 1 was open. The line was ridiculously long. Then when it was our turn to order, we were informed that they had just ran out of hot dogs. How in the world does a venue as well planned out and beautiful as this only have 1 concession stand open and run out of hot dogs before the game? There were a lot of grumblings from the other fans in the line. The lady at the counter was nice and polite. She simply wasn't given what was needed for a sold out bowl game of over 65,000 in attendance. Basically, the game and the stadium were awesome. Just be certain to eat a big meal before you go.

From top to bottom this was a great experience. I have never been to a bowl game so was a little unsure about what to expect when taking my 14 year old. The fans from both teams were very cool. We drove in from Austin Saturday morning and had breakfast at Piedras Negras Cafe, which was recommended by a friend. The food was awesome and at such an affordable price, it couldn't be beat. We headed to the stadium and found a parking lot for $20 as the stadium parking was already sold out. We only had to walk 2 blocks so no complaints there. The Fan Zone offered a lot of fun and entertainment while waiting for the stadium to open up. Lots of beer, food and friendly rivalry! It was awesome when the school bands made a brief appearance. It really pumped up the crowd. And the game....absolutely incredible! The stadium staff was very helpful directing us to what we needed. No complaints there! Overall we had a very positive bowl experience. The only suggestion is to recycle, recycle, recycle!! I couldn't believe how much trash was bundled up in bags with things clearly visible that could be recycled such as cans. What an opportunity for a local non-profit to earn some cash by selling all those cans.

The Alamobowl was excellent! I appreciated the info prior to the game regarding parking. I parked at one of the shuttle lots and rode the shuttle straight to the entrance. After the game, I did not have to wait on the shuttle van. It was there and was back to my car within 15 min. Regarding the game, I wish the Alamodome had state of the art jumbo-trons. First and hopefully last time I will have to go to the Alamodome. I have been to hundreds of concerts, college and professional games, all types of events worldwide and have NEVER been in a venue that bad. It was dark, half of the corridor lights were unlit. The concession stands were grossly understaffed and staff that was there was terribly inefficient. People waited in 30-45minute lines for food/drinks...time wasted. It was dirty, everywhere. The policemen working outside of the Alamodome were very rude.I simply cannot imagine how a Company like Valero could put there name on something so barely and so badly put together. It was almost as if the venue was not notified that there would be a big game that evening. Yes, I know it was horrible weather...cold and rainy...but understand that this had nothing to do with my assessment. If all reviews come in like mine, please do not assume everyone was unhappy because of the weather.

The football ball was great but... 1. Alamodome video board is smaller than my TV at home 2. Almost no replays during game. But they did run self promoting adds 3. sound system is garbled (think of Charlie Brown's teacher) 4. Understaffed at security check-in and concessions 5. Had to buy tickets through 3rd party resellers which means no souvenir ticket stub The good... 1. San Antonio. nuff said ;) 2. You can walk to the Alamodome from any river-walk hotel

The Alamo Bowl is a pretty good bowl atmosphere. The riverwalk area has plenty of resturaunts, a mall, and is close proximity to the Alamodome. The walk from the host hotels (and other surrounding hotels in the area) was a 10-15 minute scenic walk. The fan zone needed a few more activities but had great food and music.

First, the Game. Holy cow, what an exciting game. Worth every penny just for what the two teams did on the field (largest comeback ever, 3 OT!). The one positive thing I can say about the facility is that it has good sight lines. It's smaller than your super big modern NFL stadiums, so it gives it a little more intimate feel. However.... The Alamodome facility itself is horribly outdated. The food was bad, with very few choices, especially in the upper deck where you had to wait 45 minutes in line for a barely warm hot dog. Same with the beer. Great if you like Bud or Bud Light, but don't expect anything of the craft variety. There were not nearly enough vendors to serve the capacity crowd that was there (another 45-55 minutes for a T-shirt). Given the number of events they host yearly, I doubt anyone wants to sink money into upgrading/expanding, but it is sorely neeeded

Exciting college bowl game. TCU came back from down 31 points at the half. They tied the game and forced a 3 OT final that was history making. Only team in bowl history to come back and win a game after a trailing by 31 points. Happy to say, even though we were in the 300 section, the 1st row made it feel much closer. Thanks to ticketmaster, I paid $75 per seat with a low service charge, compared to seats right next to us that paid $135 per seat.

Loved our seats - got to see possibly the greatest comeback in bowl history! So glad I was there! Fortunately not a lot of activity happened on the field during the second quarter, where I and several hundred other disgusted patrons waited in ridiculously long, slow lines for drinks and terribly prepared food. In all my years attending events all over the country, this was by far the worse concession service I've ever experienced. Come on Alamodome - you need to get a handle on that!

We could not hear much of anything the announcer said during the game including what the penalty was, who made a tackle, etc. The sound needs to be improved or they should include what is being said on a video screen or something. Disappointing.

The game itself was incredible. However the facilities and the Riverwalk area were disappointing. The stadium facilities are old and the price points for food and beverage were higher than any other venue I've been in. The restaurants and service employees were disappointing. Restaurants didn't have enough room, food and beverages. Consistently kept hearing sorry we're out of this, we're out of that. How can you not be prepared! The knowledge of employees of area interests or directions was so bad. It's amazing that San Antonio wants tourism but is not equipped to handle it. Even the taxi cab drivers had no idea what to do when taking people to the Alamodome.

PA system was not good at all. Down and distance were usually a play behind. Video was average at best.

My first Alamo Bowl was truly a great experience even though My KSU Wildcats didn't win the game! The tickets were great and I am glad I used Ticket Master for the event.

The Alamobowl was awesome. The atmosphere was electric and can't wait until next year. The Alamodome needs better food. It needs something that is special to the venue.

The atmosphere was fantastic, but the apparel vendors ran out of stuff rather quickly. This was very disappointing.

The stadium was easy to navigate and our view from our seats was pretty good. The Park and Ride system made getting to and from the stadium really easy.

We had a nice time at the Alamobowl. Seats were great and VIP party was fun. My only suggestion at the VIP party is to make water and sodas as self serve. The wait lines to get water and soda were too long having to wait for people getting mixed drinks.

This was my first bowl game and the weather was cold and damp, but the event was fantastic. I am sorry to say my team list but still enjoyed the game and the crowd of fans. San Antonio know how to put on an event even the parking was great. I will go again!

This is the 3rd time I attended the Alamo Bowl and it was the worst experience. I don't know that I 'll ever go back to this venue. The sound system in this venue is awful. It is so muffled that you can't hear the in game announcements much less any penalties the refs call out. They did not adequately staff the concession stands so that anyone that went waited in line over 30 minutes at any time during the game or before. Then the concession food wasn't even fresh for the outrageous prices you pay. And on top of it the workers were not putting the sales into a cash register but a spiral notebook and they even tried to overcharge us. Not to mention that we were sold tickets behind the replay screen and couldn't see any of the replays but this was not disclosed on the tickets. In addition the number of tv timeouts really took away from the game. There were far too many that were far too long. The only thing this venue gets right is the park and ride service. This service was very well organized and we got on buses on both ends very quickly.

The game itself was tough to watch because Texas lost, but the seats I had and the environment was incredible. It was great to be there to see Mack coach his last game. I would recommend these seats and to anyone going to this venue.

This the first Alamobowl that I have ever attended. The outdoor events were an exciting introduction and, for our family, added to the pregame anticipation. Once inside we searched around for souvenirs and were a little diss appointed at the selections. A Nike store on site would have been awesome. Both teams forgot to bring their "A" game but the Longhorns and the Ducks are my two favorite teams and watching them play each other was a dream come true even if they didn't play their best ball. Overall a great experience!

A college bowl game between two big name schools is always fun. The one negative that I have about the bowl was the venue. The Alamodome is out-dated. From it's seating to it's audio/visual.

The city needs to work on traffic flow. I have been to many bowl games by far the worst traffic of an game I have been to.

Took my four college aged children to the game between Texas and Oregon. The atmosphere was awesome and we enjoyed our first ever college football game. San Antonio is a great city and it was worth our time and money.
