Being my first time to the hayride I found it was a very cool alternative to the theme parks. Lots of cool costumed monsters. The wait for the hayride was not unbearable. Also some cool drum music was being played while you wait. (Attraction). Place to take pictures (looking like a murder scene. And your in it.) Overall I liked the hayride and would come back.

Don't waste a dollar on this overpriced horribly organized event. I decided to go on a whim with my group of friends, sadly it was a huge letdown. From the repeat of two songs playing over and over to the two-hour lines we only went through the haunted house. I have been to an elementary school Halloween nights that were better than this. Overall a huge waste of money!

I went for the first time four years ago and was so impressed by the production value. It was fun and there was a lot of detail in the sets and the costumes. The past few years I have seen a huge increase in price and huge decrease in production value. A lot of themes and scares are reused on the hayride. The line is insanely long, which wouldn't bother me as much if the attraction itself was a little more entertaining. An example of the difference between years would be one year they put a big black sheet over the top of the wagon so no one could see anything and then proceeded to share the living hell out of us by having the 'monsters' heads inside under the blanket so when they turned on flash lights we were completely surprised. The next year they reused the exact same idea, however, nothing happened. We were left in the dark for a few moments and then the blanket was taken off. Everyone was very confused. Anyway, I hate bashing it because I was such a supporter after the first year, but it really has let down it's audience. It seems like it is try to capitalize on it's growing popularity by herding people in and out without wasting a bunch of money or resources on new and exciting scares.

The hay ride and other activities are fun but the amount of people there was ridiculous. 90% of your time will be waiting in line.

Haunted hayride really sucked this year and was a waste of money! Had gone in 2012 and had a great experience but this year was horrible!! Hayride was much scarier before.

I guess I might expect too much from scary attractions. I can understand why young girls would scream at the spooks, but I would not. I reacted twice through the whole thing being startled and that was through the same maze and not even the hayride. It was good for one time but I will not go again.

This play was wayyyyyy to crowded, it took 4 hours to go on a hay ride that was not scary. We could have gone to Knotts for the same price and done more. We got the all attraction pass so we could enjoy all the events, but every line was atleast an hour. You could not find n e on that worked there to ask where the lines started. I swear a family of four ran this place in their back yard and did not want to pay n e one to help them. We will NEVER go again. There was one scary looking thing walking around but other than that it looked like a park at night

The hayride was the far best attraction at this event. The Maze was pretty good, but the rest left a lot to be desired.

The event let me down completely. It was marketed as a scary hayride, when in reality it was more like a Halloween art display. There was absolutely nothing scary about the hayride, and if possible would like a refund as I feel it was a complete waste of the $30. I left very irritated at the fact that I had spent that much on a less then 10 minute ride to see some very un scary artwork.

The event is great and is worth the price. You should arrive early to avoid long queues (even though you have the VIP pass). The only drawback is the lack of seats for eating, and a better variety of Halloween food. The day I went was raining and there was no structure to shelter the people.

It was cheesy and festive as expected. The scariest part was the line. Get there early or else be prepared to wait over 90 mins in line for an altogether lackluster experience.

I want to start by saying the scenes and theatrics were well put together. However, the line for the ride was too long, also they crowded the actual ride. Everybody in my hayride, including myself, complained of being squished and having their feet/legs fall asleep. The whole time I was more worried about kicking someone then the actual event. Also they need to do a better job of allowing "regular people" and the VIPS getting on the ride. When I went they would only let the VIPS through and ignored our line. It's rude and shows that even though we paid we meant nothing because we weren't VIPS.

It was just not worth it... Not scary, and not worth the hours of line waiting. Even had i paid forthose VIP passes I'd be upset that i paid so much for mediocre scare event. I guess my gf was right, should have just gone to scary farm...

spent 3-4 hours just standing in lines. They also sold VIP tickets for extra $$ but they didn't cap the sales. Eventually there were more people with VIP tickets than normal people. People were not so VIP anymore and the lines took even longer. The Hayride was very nice. Great production.

For a Thursday night event, I felt that there was LESS going on...felt like some of the characters, or lack of, we're half asleep... Last years hayride was much much better... It was themed with music, where this years was not... A bit expensive for a less than 20 minute event

Not as good as previous years. 2014 had less monsters walking around before Hayride, no fun house with mirrors, less props in the free photo tent as previously. Rude & repetitive line wranglers. The ride itself was fun but there seemed to be less thought put into the whole event. The focus seemed to be on the new tent attraction that was an additional charge & where nobody was going.

The hayride is scary good fun. There are some dark themes that are troubling, and not for those who plan to take some of the references personally. The hayride and sideshows are intelligently planned. Loved the SideShows this year: 7 Deadly Sins and the Four Horsemen. A history buff had a hand in this years production. My only complaint would be at the more graphic depictions in the sideshows, particularly lust in the 7 Deadly sins. Really guys? I'm really not a prude, but didn't need to see that ... and neither did my 14 year old. Just keep it R and keep it fun. I can deal with the human sacrifice depictions, scary clowns, chain saw wielding psychos - its all in good fun. I don't need to see the nun and the priest in the confessional - off topic to say the least.

This event cost way too much for what it had to offer. I attended on a saturday evening and it was extremely crowded and had very little to do. I also purchased the VIP "fast pass" that allows you to skip the lines. This would have worked if the lines for the "fast pass" weren't LONGER than the general admission lines!!! That was ridiculous. The event had good dieas as far as "scary" themes, but overall, I would never go back to this event. For the money I paid, I would have much rather gone to Universal Studios or Knotts.

First of all, parking was horrible! Like the fact that there was a shuttle but there was only 1 and it was overcrowded and not safe. The bus driver even opened the rear door in my face and smacked me! Not pleasant. There were about 4 main attractions and lines were overcrowded even for VIP so not worth the extra money! Long long lines! But overall, It was an ok experience since I'm from SA, TX and we don't have these events there. But in the future, I would never go back!

I had looked forward to this event for years. Was very excited I was finally going. The hay ride was AMAZING!! It definitely lived up to the advertizing. The one maze I made it into after waiting in line for over an hour, was a let down. Maybe it was the long wait in line. I understand that with the purchase of a VIP ticket you get a shorter line/wait time, but one this one particular maze line, the only time a group from the regular line got to go in was when there was no one in the VIP line. Maybe next year rotate the line..... one VIP one regular. VIP's aren't waiting long and us regular folks can get to more than one maze in the night.

We saw all the hype for the Haunted Hayride....and should have known better... From the get go, it was not organized to make it easy to know where to go and how to get there. The parking lot was a meandering experience, they did have buses to take you up the hill...but there wasn't any signs or anything. We ended walking (following the sleeples) up the hill....no shortage of ATMs...but after that, next to no signs for anything--unless you count the one sign with 12 different arrows. Hours and hours of waiting for the hayride...ehhh, no big deal on the ride...sort of creative, sort of very repetitive, scene after scene, no real story line... A pretty big disappointment...the marketing was well organized, the event not so much...

The mazes were great. Lines were very long. We go there at 6:30pm to do things before it got too crazy but it didn't matter. Our last maze was 1 hr long. But it was a fun maze to do. I recommend getting the front of the line pass. Next time we will. Other than that they did a great job at converting the old zoo and the park. Decor and scarers were cool. Lots of kids everywhere though, unlike Universal Horror Nights. Prepare to get a bit dirty as there's no grass, just dirt. Expect to get hay in your pants after the hayride!

The hayride itself was average at best. The tented attractions were lacking and it is unclear if they were supposed to be scary or just every day theatrical entertainment. They really need to up the production value. Parking is horrible. The lots are poorly signed and lighting is almost non existent.

The theme was unclear...something about German soldiers maybe? And the characters were less in your face scary than last year. The hayride itself was a bit of a disappointment compared to last year. Still, the sideshows were creative and fun and there were some great characters roaming around. Didn't make it into the maze- the line was too long and I'd already spent a good deal of time waiting in lines. I may or may not go next year.

Trakstar
The event in total was way to small to accommodate a crowd the size of two theme parks put together. The lines were never ending and it wasn't nearly enough cast of characters to preoccupy the rowdy crowd of impatient customers. There was one food stand with at least 120 people waiting for cotton candy and there was one bus to transport customers back and fourth from the park to the parking lot. Long story short the only reason to go is the hayride and even that can be found at your local pumpkin patch. Bit of advice for next year, don't plan as if you're universal studios when in reality it's barely a carnival.

The Haunted Hayride event sounded like a fun thing to do but unfortunately was not. Parking was not controlled and the lines for the entire event were too long. It was very disorganized. They should sell "ticket times" to prevent such overcrowding and a 3-4 hour wait time for the Hayride. Luckily we sold our tickets and got out of there. Too bad, because it could have been really fun if it was just better organized.

This event featured a hay ride, a live band, live theatre, a side/freak show and a maze. I purchased a VIP ticket to skip the lines. If I had to wait in those lines, I would have been extremely frustrated and angry with the caliber of these attractions. But, having paid over $60 for my ticket, I was still very annoyed at the event. The hayride packed on a lot of people per trailer, which meant its a lot harder to scare people as most of the actors were seen in advance. The freak/side show was very poorly executed, as you went from room to room watching small montages of freaks...i guess. One room was actually just an elder overweight man drinking beer in silence. <- not a joke. Needless to say we were in and out in less than an hour, which kinda sucked. Parking was no joke either. We parked over half a mile away and walked up the hill to the event. Scary? Not at all. No jumps, no bumps...just awkward. Inventive/Creative? Nope, but the dancing birds were cool. Concessions? Good luck with that.

L.A. Haunted Hayride needs to allocate a certain number of tickets for a specific date and only sell the amount allocated for that date. This year they sold either weekday or weekend tickets and had no way of knowing when people were going to show up. I've been to the hayride almost every year since it came to Griffith Park and this was the largest crowd I'd seen. Maybe it was a fluke and I chose a popular night, but that is exactly why tickets need to be for a specific date, so they can sell out. The hayride itself was pretty much the same experience with some new visuals which were good. The House of the Horsemen was new and interactive, requiring someone in your party to do something before moving on to the next room (we were the first to go through since we showed up before it started which may have added to the special attention we received by the actors). The in between maze had about a 2 hour wait and by the time we went in they were just shuffling as many people as they could through without very much spacing in between which completely killed the effect and made the 2 hour wait worthless. The Seven Sins Sideshow was a good attempt at providing something different to do. Many people in our group thought it was stupid, but I found each of the vignettes entertaining enough. The industrial drum band was very entertaining and probably a good distraction for the people in line for the hayride. The free photo op tent was also a nice touch. All in all, I will not be attending next year.

I love all the hard work that is put into the Hayride itself. This year was one to make you think more so than to make you scream. It was very low key and creepy with less of the the I'm going to get in your face and bang on the trailer type tactics of years past. I have to say that my favorite part that will stay with me was the "crows" in the corn field. They were exquisite! I do like that there were a few more things to do this year. The Seven Sins and the 4 Horsemen and of course you can't have Halloween without the Blood Drums! If the Hayride keeps going the way they are I'm going to have to go VIP because each year the lines get longer and longer and I keep getting older. To old to stand for that long but I wouldn't miss it!

First, the customer services was terrible. There was very little guidance on the system, and they required us to keep pulling up our mobile app for the QR code for each ride, rather than once upon entering. This drained my battery, especially since it was out in the middle of nowhere. And then when I had a hard time pulling it up, partially because EVERYONE else was pulling it up, she asked me to step aside, to allow a ton of other people to go in past me, increasing my already long wait time. uh NO!. Now let's get to the actual event. Scariest Halloween activity in LA? Far from it. The 2 attractions we could actually get into due to the ridiculous wait times were STUPID. The hayride was lame and boring, and uncomfortable. We were in the back of a truck sitting on loose hay, not hay bales, and they crammed us together so much that people were sitting on other people. I felt like they were herding a bunch of kids, not adults, although we were all adults. Pathetic. Then it wasn't even scary. It was stupid. So was the interactive Seven Deadly Sins. How lame. half the time it was so loud I couldn't even understand what the characters were saying. It wasn't even a maze... just scenes. I was confused. We couldn't get to anything else due to having waited for the two other crappy things, but from what I hear, we didn't miss much. How pathetic. I will never go back.

This is the worst waist of $30 and 4 hours of my life. It was such a disorganized mess. The line was 3.5 hours long and in the end, it was not worth it... Not even a little bit. I wish I never went and I could forget the time I spent standing in line. The hayride was really uncomfortable. There are all these actors dressed in costumes trying to scare you by getting into your personal space. Perhaps its just not my kind of thing. I will never do that again. Ever. If anyone asks me a will tell them, otherwise I am going to do my best to never think of the experience again and attempt to erase it from my memory. It was that bad.

Fist timer, I paid 25 bucks to stand in line for 2 hrs to ride for 25 minutes to look at people with masks that weren't scary. I expected more, or atleast the people in costumes to creep up and scare you but they only walked up to us and that's it. Their website looks and sounds much scarier then it is. If I were to go again I would probably try one of the mazes, maybe those are better.

I had hopes for it being better but it wasn't. 1st time going, and I did avoid going here for many years because of mixed reviews. The hayride was pretty cool. That I do give credit for. But everything else was eh. I like going through mazes but the ones they had here were not well planned. Not scary enough and waited a long time just to be disappointed. I'll stick to Knott's Scary farm or universal Studios for haunted attractions. There's even some backyard haunts people make that I went to in burbank and Glendale that were fantastic and well planned and were free to do. So this attraction is not worth it.

This was our 3rd year and we won't be doing it again. It has gotten way to large and the event planners have no control. Although the Hayride portion is fun, but not as good as the last 2 years, the waits are ridiculously long for the other attractions.

Overcrowded. Lines too long. Not enough staff. One area for food to accommodate 10 fold customers. Hay ride was cool, but also too crowded.

We loved it...it was my first time. Next time would love more attractions & more to experience. Loved the mechanics and the favorite were the Circe de Sole like creatures.....

Loved the mystical side, the location, the creativity. Was very disappointed that they don't cap the amount of VIP tickets they sell in a night. You can pay top dollar for VIP and still wait in line for hours.

It's good to go with friends. Not too scary but I recommend the vip pass unless you want to wait a long time

horrible!! The worst hayride I have experienced I felt so bad for my friends I invited to join me and my boyfriend because it was not scary at all.. nor was it exciting! It was bland and short. Prior years were amazing but, this year I was extremely disappointed.

The LA Haunted Hayride claims to be the best ever but that simply isn't true. This is now the third year I have attended the Hayride and for the second year in a row I have been disappointed. The lines for the Hayride are ridiculous! My boyfriend and I arrived at the Hayride the minute it opened and there was already a 2 hour wait line for the Hayride so we decided to come back later in the hopes that it would clear up. We ended up going to the House of the Horseman maze instead where we were the only ones that were in line for the maze and were the first to go through for the evening. This was the only fun part of the entire all attraction ticket for the Hayride. After this, we proceeded to get in line for the Hayride where we waited the hour even after having waited hoping it would be shorter. The actual hayride was quite unimpressive even once we managed to make it through the line. The only exciting part was the crow people that looked like they were going to fly into the crowds - that's about it. I didn't find the props particularly great nor the acting from the monsters. All in all, it just isn't what it used to be. The price might I add has become ridiculously expensive also and we didn't even pay for the front of the line pass. Speaking of the front of the line pass, many people - at least 20 people we talked to - said that buying the front of the line pass didn't even do anything because they got in VIP line for the 7 Deadly Sins Attraction and waited twice as long as the regular ticket holder line. The 7 Deadly Sins Attraction also turned out to be quite a disappointment. Definitely not worth the 30 minute wait time. The last attraction we attended was the Blackout Maze. This was by far the worst part of the evening. We waited 2 1/2 hours for the maze which turned out to be quite lame. Besides the disappointment of the actual maze, waiting in line was so discouraging because the workers at the front only let in about 5 regular ticket holders for every 30-50 VIP pass holders. On the whole, the entire event was poorly organized, the workers didn't seem competent, the price was outrageous, and the attractions themselves were not worth the time or the money. I would recommend attending local events instead. Try Sinister Pointe in Fullerton, Raymond Hills Mortuary in Pasadena, or especially Urban Death or the Griffith Park Ghost Train. All of these events were priced between $10-$25 and were far better in quality and value. Check them out and Ditch the Hayride!

you would have to come early if you want to avoid the long lines. the attractions were well played. unfortunately I wasn't to happy about the seating arrangements on the haunted hayride. we were all packed in like I would say cattle. it was very uncomfortable, which kind of took something away from the experience itself.

i really enjoyed the hayride. There were some very creative ideas. The stop the hayride made with the human ravens was really amazing. They waited on their posts until the hayride came their station. They came alive twisting and turning. The also enjoyed the seven deadly sins exhibit. The exhibit accurately covered the seven deadly sin theory. Overall, the haunted hayride experience was good, I would like to see more exhibits and characters walking around in the near future, hopefully next year or the year after.

Overall the Hayride was my favorite part! I got the "All attraction pass" but in reality it wasn't worth it - I only liked 2 attractions. My favorite attraction, besides the hayride, was the "In-between" Maze! This maze involves the "leader" of the group to carry a red lantern and you get to decide whether to keep it on or off. We had it flickering which was cool because we would get scared more easily in the darker corners. The hayride took you almost all around the old zoo. The fact that it was so open was great! If you want to be really scared sit in the back of the tractor / ride!!! ;) The monsters get all up in your face but don't pass their limit (don't worry they don't touch you or anything) - they simply make loud noises or growl but the whole set up was great!

Very fun fair! It was worth the VIP Admission. It gets packed as it goes on into the night. Very creative and actually scary! The attractions at the L.A. Haunted Hayride are all very unique and very well executed. The "creatures" were amazing, and the best part, they're all camera ready! The In-Between Maze was definitely my favorite attraction. The Hayride was something I will definitely do again. Parking was free, but very hard to find a spot.

My 11 year old son and I attended the Haunted Hayride. We got the VIP ticket. While we enjoyed ourselves we were disappointed to find that it only let you in the front of the line once. We felt that we should've been told that before we bought the ticket. We also felt we should've been able to ride it at least twice since the only other ride was the merry go round.

Was not shocking or scary at all. Previous years have been fantastic, but this year seems to have lost itself in promotion, rather than the actual show. Wish I could get my money back from this one. Hugely disappointing.

I had gone to basically all the theme parks that have something special for Halloween but I must say. The LA Huanted Hayride was by far my favorite out of all the places I went to this year! Sure Universal has more to do but I was just amazed at how well put everything was here at the hayride. I was more scared here then at Knotts and Universal put together. I go to these events for that main reason so I'm so coming back next year and can't wait for it since I'll make to bring a big group with me

Been to scarier places than this place. It was my first time going and not planning to go back again. I can see if people who get scared easily would like this but for an pro at going to Halloween events this one wasn't worth the trip. The scariest park of this event was just driving to the LA Zoo in the creepy side street. Had to use high beams to see cause it was so dark.

The Haunted Hayride was not what I remembered. The new attraction House of Horseman and Deadly Sins sideshow were amazing; my only suggestion would be to add more live monsters in the In Between Dark Maze.

Ehh. I guess I went on a bad year. I always wanted to go but this year just seemed lame. Don't recommend. We just rode the hay ride and we didn't have anything to do since we got the $25 ticket. But the hayride shouldn't be even be worth $25 more like $10.

We got the private wagon for a bunch of our friends and it was great! So fun, the 'flying' crow corpses were especially cool. Only thing I missed from last year was the black curtain coming down over the entire wagon, which I thought was really cool. Love the added maze too!

All the hype i have heard over this event, i had high expectations. I found it amateurish and completely unsophisticated. Of all the money you made, you could have spent more on making the sets more realistic. Spend more on actor costumes and makeup. They looked pitiful. This was merely a venue that played on a person's natural aversion to darkness and loud noise. I found nothing about the hayride scary or entertaining. Save your money and go to a movie and a nice dinner.

The Hayride itself was extremely well put together. It is by far the best hayride I have been to yet. This was a very fun event. The mazes were done well also. A few things I would like to see in the future.....more food and beverage options and locations, more monsters lingering, More things to do, places to sit and relax. a way to make a longer evening of the event. I am a vegetarian, however not only vegetarian food should be offered. Or atleast it should be announced everywhere...including on your tickets in bold.

The LA Haunted Hayride was something fun to go to for the halloween season, but I wouldn't recommend it. It was fun, but I never really got scared. You saw everything beforehand, so it was hard to get scared. I would have preferred to spend nearly 50 dollars on an amusement park's fright fest, because those events are really good at popping up and scaring you. Knotts Berry Farm was around the same price, and sooo much better.

They oversold the event, so the lines to get into attractions were absurd. In 5 hours, we only got into 2 of the attractions even though we paid for all of them. Very disappointing in this way. Definitely not worth the money.

Hayride was fun but not scary. We had a blast in the maze but we had to wait two hours in line for it. After we were done the park was closing so we didn't have time to see any other attractions. Not worth the ticket price.

I came to the hayride 2 years ago and I would have given it 3 and a half stars then. I came again this year to see it was better and I was so disappointed. The hayride was so lame! Everybody was laughing, nobody was scared and if there was a storyline, it didn't make any sense. The makeup was horrible and there were no scares! Don't waste your money next year - I will never be back!
