The show was pro from the start! The dancing was fantastic. The band was full of energy. The only problem with this show is they didn t have the correct sound gear for the hall. I was in the side box up above. There sound was only floor mixed! Try to sit in lower level seating for this tour.

This show combined the beauty of Irish tradition with the solid music of the rock world. The dancing was extraordinary and the energy and spirit of the dancers took my breath away. The musicians showed great versatility moving from one style to another. The costumes were beautiful and at times unexpected. Being of Irish heritage, it was gratifying to see this fresh take on traditional music and dance. Do whatever it takes to see this show!

What a show. Little did we know that it was going to be that good. We just planned to see something different. Not a big fan of Lord Of The Dance. This was nothing like it. There was a full band rocking away with singers that were great. Then there were the dancers tapping away. The way they can dance is amazing. The show was broken down in to different segments. Not just all that dancing. But the dancers were very good. There were humorous parts, band solos, and costume changes in the show. The show was put together very well. Everyone looked so enthusiastic and full of energy that you couldn't wait to see what was going to happen next. They were the happiest bunch of performers that I have ever seen. After the show they all go in to the lobby to meet the fans.

I would consider this show to be a byproduct of the Trans Siberian Orchestra and Riverdance. The music was fantastic. The singers and dancers were excellent. The male singer is very charismatic and the female has an Adele-like sound. The dancers were accomplished and attractive. The dueling fiddlers were very entertaining. GO SEE THIS SHOW - if you get the opportunity.

This show was very good! The lighting could have been a bit better and the dancing should have occupied more of the show. That's what I really came for...dancing and rock and roll. I also think the attendance would have been greater if the marketing was amped up a bit. Overall, it was a very good show and my husband and I had a great time.

Very professional production. I've seen lots of shows like this (Riverdance, Celtic Woman, etc) and this ranks up there with the best. They had it all, Irish dancing, great musicians, great singers. The execution was flawless. I'd like to see this show again. The cast that was present after the show for the fans were very friendly. It would have been perfect if all of the cast were present afterward.

And that's the best part....I was thinking "traditional music and dance" and that would have been fine...BUT the best part is, it was traditional, exciting, contemporary, ROCKED OUT! I couldn't have known what it would be, never having heard of the group. It's too bad there weren't more in the audience, because all those empty seats represented someone like me who'd not heard of the group and THEY didn't bother even trying. I brought a friend who lives in Tucson to celebrate our friendship, I drove up from Bisbee, and the trip and money for the tickets was totally worth it. The vocalists were super, that female lead vocalist has a voice to die for, the dancers keeping up with the drums and the fantastic contemporary music, the stage settings and lighting effects...words fail me. I'd see them again and can only hope they return. I e-mailed my son in Seattle the link to the group's website and urged him to give them a try if they come his way.

Dancing was wonderful - but the vocals and music were only fair. The American rock and roll did not pair well with the Irish dance - and the acoustics were terrible. I would go see the Irish dancers again in a second, but not paired with the Rock and Roll back up performers. Overall, I would skip this performance.

Irish dance stepped up to the nth degree with some dancers from Ireland. High degree of musicianship including two violins. Traditional Irish tunes and dance melded with Rock, thus the name "Rockin' Road to Dublin". The rock songs chosen were top hits. Rock vocalists do an extremely good job. They played the Irish song Butterfly, delicately performed and dance to, with the female troupe using ballet slippers. The sped-up part to follow was not the reel, but rather a rock and reel, guy dancers joining in. In all cases the Irish was preserved, but when they rocked, they rocked. Another rock song as part of a rock medley was Baba O'Reilly (Teenage Wasteland) originally recorded by The Who. The Scottish drum was used on a show down with the lead male Irish dancers. Then another drum was added. Then another, while adding male dancers. You must decide who wins. Taken as a whole, one would be hard pressed to see this degree of musicianship and dance in any touring show: Off the charts!

I overall enjoyed the concert. I was VERY disappointed --as the background music--drums/guitars were TOO loud. The vocalists had to ( almost) yell to be heard--at times and the background music overpowered the dancers/tap sounds. Not sure who the loud background music was catering to--suspected the average age of the crowd was in the 50's.. Most people in this age group do not like the EXCESSIVE loud music. I got some toilet paper during the intermission to plug my ears--enjoyed the concert much more. Enjoyed the variety of talent ( except the solo guitar player--70's style music). The dancing was super as well as much of the overall music. Just to LOUD of background music.

I should start with,,,,, The performers in this show are very talented. It is obvious that a lot of hard work goes in to preparing for this show....This was not what I expected. The dancing was awesome. We could not understand anything that was sung in the first half. The background music drowned out the singers. They performed songs by Journey, The Who, and other American and English rock bands. What do they have to do with Ireland??? No U2? Black 47? Cranberries? UGH

If you like Irish dancing, that's spectacular. If you like Irish music, you will hear that too, as well as rock! The live music is fantastic and in-your-face. The vocalist is amazing, as is the MC. You will see and hear much more than expected. Go in the spirit of fun, and be ready to rock out with this cast. They're a mix of charismatic personalities, and each brings something unique to the cast. Choreography original and inspired! Sit back and enjoy having a ball with this capable crew.

Bass was so loud that the floor, seat, and my spinal discs vibrated. I stuffed Kleenex in my ears. At intermission, we moved to vacant seats in the rear. This is disappointing when you paid for better seats. The music was too loud to hear the lyrics to the vocals. Otherwise, a good, but not exceptional show. The repetitive music at intermission was annoying - change it up.

When this show comes to a venue near you, run to get tickets! Irish dance / music shows now have a new standard. Part Irish, part classic rock concert, all energy! The staging and lighting got the crowd pumped up and when combined with great music and phenomenal choreography the whole thing is a blast. Great vocals with just the right amount of attitude as well as deep soul.

The musicians, dancers and singers were wonderful. The talent was over the top. I wasn't sure what to expect by combining this style of dance with Rock music. I would definitely return to see a future performance. I felt bad for the performers since the house was not full. Hopefully, it was just bad timing since the women's NCAA Final Four was in town the same weekend.

So I went into this knowing nothing about it and what I ended up being treated to was a ton of fun. The show shares a lot in common with shows like Riverdance and Feet of Flames, but their take is super unique. There is an underlying story in the first act with plenty of excellent choreography, but what totally makes the show is it's Rock and Roll thematics. From the costumes to the re-invisionment of a number of songs, this show definitely gives Irish dancing (forgive the pun) a new spin. It is also uniquely diverse in the body types of the dancers, which I think is excellent, and the chemistry between the musicians and the dancers is evident as they are dancing and playing on stage. Most enjoyable.

The dancers and musicians were amazing. The costumes were very poorly done and not well designed. The lead female singers outfits were very inappropriate for her size and shape, very unflattering and unprofessional looking. Her make up and hair was not done well at all , the black lipstick was the worst. This all distracted from her beautiful vocals. She needs a re-do of her image. The lead female dancer costume was not appealing at all... looked like a common housedress. She should look more ethereal... The male lead singer did not seem to fit the venue. His style and voice would be a better fit in something like jersey boys or grease... I think the show needs a more powerful and mature lead man. I think with the right management, choreographer and costume/set designer this show would be amazing and give Riverdance a run for the money.. but it needs some serious attention before it loses the huge audience out there for this type of show. people love Irish dance and music! I'm sorry if this sounds harsh, but I am trying to give the most constructive criticism I can because I really do believe there is a ton of talent here that just needs to be "pulled together"..

My wife needs a wheelchair to attend these events, we had chosen handicapped seating and the staff at the venue were more than accommodating in every way imaginable and then some. The show was an awesome mix of Deliverance, meets River Dance, meets Charlie Daniels Band, meets Zamphere (Master of the pan-flute), meets Areosmith on Broadway. We really liked this show and hope to be able to see it again.

If you have seen Riverdance, this is Riverdance on steroids. The band includes a keyboardist, two drummers, base quitar, two lead guitars and two fiddle players. While they are all excellent the two fiddle players are exceptional. There is a male singer and female singer. Of course you have a lead male and female dancer and six other male and female dancers. In Riverdance there is a battle between three male Irish dances and three tap dancers that is one of the highlights of that show. Here the battle is between three Irish male dancers and three drummers and it is a truly amazing part of the show. Who knew that you could do Irish dancing to Eye of the Tiger and other rock songs. If you have a chance to attend this show you will not be sorry and you will enjoy some great entertainment.

All of the performers in RR2D are independently so amazingly talented and come together for an outstanding collaboration of music and dance to be enjoyed by all ages. The show is entertaining from start to finish, upbeat and lively. The singers sounded great, the dancers were awesome and the musicians were incredible! The live video screen is a fantastic way to see a different perspective - the up close footwork of the dancers was unbelievable and the overhead shots of the musicians really turned it up a notch. The lighting and effects were spot on and we believe it couldn't have been any better. Everyone really gave it their all and the solos allowed each performer to shine. We particularly enjoyed the drum off. We will definitely attend any venue this group may play in Virginia and nearby states as you must see it to appreciate it. It is a show that you want to see again and again!

We lost many of the lyrics while the singers belted out Irish songs. A video screen displaying the words would have been helpful. Frankly, watching the group 'Riverdance" to Journey and AC/DC?! songs being sung by the female and male singer, were forgettable....keep it Celtic, stay with one theme! AND we were told no pictures, even without flash...? WHY? Social media can only HELP get audiences into your shows and by the look of the size of the crowd, some added publicity from audience members to our social media pages, would have been beneficial! The lead dancers where extraordinary and their enthusiasm was infectious...again I loved the dancing...so precise and beautiful. The band and the Violinists were great! But were was the Tin Whistle??? So readily audible in most Irish songs! The two singers added very little to the show...

This was a wonderfully entertaining and exciting evening in the theatre. The explosive style of this modernized Irish Dance combined with a great rock band, killer percussion and kickass rock arrangements of classic Irish music is a recipe for fantastic!!! The work of the two lead dancers is exceptional. I hope as it is further developed , they expand and flesh out the story portion of the piece and find a way to structurally meld the presentational numbers with the theatrical story section of the evening. However, even as is this was an evening of electricity and excitement that will stay with me for a long time ! If Rockin Road to Dublin comes to your area, see it. Loved RRTD, more than Riverdance or Lord of the Dance, and I thought those were the best. 90 minutes of pure energy. The lead female dance could be the next Jean Butler!

This was an excellent blend of traditional Irish dance with the instrumentality of rock music. The company of dancers, musicians and singers were continuously on the move and interacting in various unique and entertaining ways. It was nearly non stop action from beginning to end.

The place should have been packed. They just need more advance publicity. Worth every penny!

Admittedly, I had never heard of this group until receiving an email from Ticketmaster about the upcoming event; since the Riverdance show had been cancelled from a snow/ice storm in January, I thought I'd give them a try. I am so grateful I did!! I believe the smaller venue at the beautiful Lyric Theater afforded a more intimate setting with the performers and it seemed so much more interactive than most shows I've attended. The cast was more attentive of, and responsive to, the audience members. And the show was outstanding!! The music and dance was superb!! I will definitely make an effort to see RR2D if they return to Birmingham!!

As a person of Irish heritage, I was not sure what I would be walking into for this event. I was pleasantly surprised at the performance. A modern Riverdance with a rock flair. Vibrant and full of energy with a most entertaining twist. The music was loud, way too loud in the first half of the show - the music did drown out the voices of the singers. Was not sure if this was a technical error or not because the second half was much better. The most disappointing reality of the evening was the many vacant seats. We had purchased tickets two days before the event and were seated in the second to the last row of orchestra center. However, more than 60% of the seats in the rows towards the stage were vacant. These seats were obviously not sold as there were too many to be no-shows. They were higher priced seats in front of us but more people behind us than in front of us. Was a shame that the people who paid to attend and patronized this venue were subjected to sitting so far back. Couldn't help but feel for the singers and dancers when they looked out and saw all the vacant seats. It has to have an effect on them. The tickets were overpriced for those front seats and it showed the night of the performance - they should have lowered the prices and filled the house instead of 60% vacant.

Years ago I went to Riverdance and loved it. I also enjoy a good rock concert, so I got tickets to Rockin Road to Dublin, and it is in fact something of each. As a dance performance, it's not as powerful or finely tuned as Riverdance, though the leads are talented and energetic. As a rock concert, it doesn't have memorable songs or vocalists who will make a name for themselves (though they acquit themselves very well). The musicians are first-rate, and their solos were a treat, as was a drumming sequence. The audience was largely my age (I have grandchildren), and I think most of us went away happy. I know I did.

Rockin Road to Dublin has all the Irish dance, music and song you expect to see in a show with this name. They go one step further and infuse great rock music with their dance numbers and in several cases tell a story through song and dance. The choreography and writing is obviously original and says a lot for this group of young men and women. If this show comes to your town definitely get tickets and tell your friends

We loved the idea of attending an event with Irish dancing. And the dancing was good, but there wasn't enough. We didn't realize most of the show would be based on a male and female singer, and the music and dancing was just more in the background. The singers reminded us of a cruise ship show or a poor Vegas show. The female singer was a bit better, but the male singer was not good at all. At times, the show seemed cheesy and not well put together. Needless to say, we were a bit disappointed. Please include more dancing and music.

Our experience at the Mayo Civic Center with the Rockin Road to Dublin show was exceptional. The quality of the performance was a 10 ranging from the musicians to the dancers to the singers. There was action taking place all over the stage at every moment. I loved the battle between the drummers and the dancers... excellent. We certainly would take in another show when they are back in the area.

The show was a lot of fun! Was not sure if I would like it or not since it started out with some of the music rock style. But the show turned out really good and really did like the music. The dancers were wonderful and so talented along with all the musicians. If you ever get a chance to go see this show, do it! I would go again if I got the chance.
