The production, including lighting, sounds, performers, were incredible. Such a great venue and McMillan's band thrived in this collegiate setting. So grateful for the experience and I would definitely see him live again!

John Mark and the band were great, playing songs everyone knew and loved as well as a few from their up and coming album. The flow between songs was nice and fit perfect with the comfortable and intimate feeling of the show. The venue was small enough where everyone interested could hang around a bit and talk to the John and the members of the band. They were all very nice and seem like a great group of guys. Over all the show was everything I was hoping for.

I would love this music even if it wasn't Christian message-based. Great, soulful lyrics and JMM has some rockin beats. A great time was had by all!

When Ticketmaster sent me a notification that John Mark McMillan (JMM) was playing again at Mercury Lounge, I immediately bought tickets. JMM is simply amazing, and while his music is quite a departure from what I typically listen to, I love it and definitely wanted to see him again. The Ticketmaster website and venue site showed the show starting at 9:30. It did not list any supporting acts, and last time he played, JMM started at the listed show time, so my husband and I showed up at about 9:15, only to find that JMM was not actually going on until midnight. After some debate about what to do (the show was on St Patricks Day in the Lower East Side. Translation: disgusting), stick around and grab a drink somewhere (again, St Patricks Day...Lower East Side...) or go home, we decided to hang around and come back at midnight. Upon returning to the venue at 11:45, we discovered that JMM was already playing, and we had missed the first 3 songs. Of course we missed two of our favorite songs and the ones we were most looking forward to seeing live. BOTTOM LINE: JMM was absolutely worth dealing with vomit and insane people all over the Lower East Side. The sound was fantastic (pretty sure they brought their own sound guy, as the sound was superior to the last time we saw them at the same venue), the band was simply beautiful, and JMM is just downright amazing. So yes, I would recommend seeing him a thousand times over. However, I would ask Ticketmaster and Mercury Lounge to be MUCH more clear about times. My husband and I are completely laid back people who rarely get angry or even affected when crappy things happen, but this was pretty disappointing.

Show was very short- maybe an hour and 20 minutes if that. Crowd wasn't really into it until the end. Kind of confusing- was this a concert or a night of worship or neither? I think it would be cool to sing a song for 20 minutes rather than rush through a set list, but maybe that's just me. The venue wasn't the best but I credit JMM for coming to NYC and applaud and support what he is doing. I think a better venue might have helped.
