All the bands were amazing. I found some bands that I like that I didn't know about and I got to see a lot live that I haven't seen before!! My only complaint is that they didn't have enough shade

The traffic was so bad, never even made it into the event. Waited for 2 hours on I-77 and was still 2.5 miles away from the place. Traffic was at a complete stand still with no end in sight.

The line up was everything I listen to on Octane on Sirius XM so this was a no-brainer to attend. Godsmack rocked, and A7X always puts on a clinic. I was really impressed with the energy level of Skillet, and Art of Dying really impressed me. That lead singer reminds me of what rockers used to be like! My main recommendation would be to open the gates earlier than 1/2 hr before the first band goes on stage. Made the lines in traffic and to get through the gates longer than they needed to be!

Well.... We missed the first 2 hours of the concert because of traffic. We even got there early. We got to see part of saving able and skillet. Then we decided we wanted to get something to eat and use the bathroom. Well There was a 2 hour line for both. We missed 3 bands waiting in line on of which was theory of a deadman. It was 30 bucks to park. 9 dollars for 3 pieces of chicken and a few fries with no ketchup or anything else. 9 dollars for a beer and 4 bucks for a water is a little over priced. The bands were awesome. I strongly would recommend not using Metrolina Expo Center again for this event. It was in no way prepared for this size show on any level. This was an awful experience.

None of the bands I went to see disappointed, even some that I didn't know too much of were good. But 3 Days and Godsmack absolutely KILLED! The event as a whole I felt was a huge success. If I had any complaint, it would be the food seemed to be at a shortage, I never go to a concert with expectations of eating, but the lines cutting through the crowd where we were trying to sit/stand were very annoying. 2 hour wait for a burger or hotdog. Unacceptable. Other than that, Excellent experience. I WILL go next year if the CR comes back to CLT.

THE BANDS WERE GREAT!! I felt the gates should have been opened a little sooner, show was delayed while folks stood in line for two hours to get in. Also felt that $30 to park a car was outrageous. I won't be going back.

The music and bands were amazing! The parking sucked, they were not prepared for over 30,000 people. Additionally, the food vendors were not prepared to serve food quickly for that amount of people. Waiting in line 3 hours for food is ridiculous.

Drove from Atlanta to charlotte to see this concert. Day of the concert the concert traffic had us in gridlock for 3 hours. When we got to the venue we paid 30 to park in gravel and grass. To see a concert in the middle of a field with no seating except in the dirt and so many People you couldn't get close enough to the stage to see anything. The sound was terrible and even bands I know sound good live sounded terrible. The only good thing was the lineup of bands.

The bands were awesome but the venue sucked. Over priced beer and food. No re-entry even though it was a 12 hours event. You were forced to buy over priced food and the food line wait was 3 hours. There was not enough trash cans. Trash was everywhere and you could not sit down on the grass. 3 hour wait to get into the concert missing the first few bands. Very disorganized

LOVED the show--favorite band was Skillet!! The line up was great--the stages were awesome-the only bad thing was the food and drink prices. I bought nothing but soda. Not waiting in line 2 hours for food. (didn't appreciate all the pot that got snuck in--I can't bring in food but people can smoke whatever they want)

The line up was fantastic. I thought all of the bands did a great job. The few things that made this experience not so great were the fact that you could not bring in chairs or blankets. The food lines were terribly long and the food way overpriced. A lot of the ground was red dirt, so my clothes were disgusting by the time we left. Security did not even check purses, so I would recommend bringing in your own food next time! And a blanket! :)

The lineup was incredible and the show rocked it all day! With 18 bands, I thought for sure it would get off schedule, but it stayed right on track. The venue wasn't big enough and it seems they were not quite prepared for the amount of people. Food and cash took over an hour in line, traffic getting in was 2 hours. So it could have been organzied better, and I hope they figure that out for next year. But I give it 5 stars because the music was AMAZING and that's what we were there for.

Music was great, you could not book a better lineup. The event itself was HORRIBLE. 32,000 people on about 20 acres of land is about 12,000 too many. It was standing room only for much of the concert. You could not take in chairs/blankets/towels to sit on so you had to sit on ground. The place reminded you of a landfill with all of the trash on the ground, you could not sit without sitting on trash/vomit/spilled beer. Everything was overpriced. Bottle water =$4, small cheeseburger =$10, Beer=$9 per can. Lines for food was 2-3 hours long. Only redeeming quality about entire event was the music.

The Carolina Rebellion artist lineup for 2012 was amazing. The only change that I would have made to the lineup would be to not have Shinedown. The majority of the crowd left before the final show of the night. The rest of the lineup was aggressive rock, but the show closed with a pop band. The largest improvements over the 2011 Carolina Rebellion show in Charlotte were the availability of water to refill water bottles and the addition of MANY extra food venders!! The major negative to the Rockingham venue was that the venue is extremely dusty!! Dust was kicked up in my face the whole day! Plus the ground was really rocky, so by the end of the day my feet hurt a lot. Overall this is an excellent concert series, and I hope to attend again in years to come!

This was my 2nd Carolina Rebellion and they were both great as far as the bands go..Alot of people were complaining about the band line up before it ever got here.Personally I like seeing a new band or a band I haven't seen b4..This was my 3rd time seeing Stained and they have been great everytime..This was my 1st time seeing Evanesence and my sister and I was Hyypped!! FFDP was awsome too!...Again Carolina Rebellion 1&2 was a great show,, but My complaints are No freakin seats, this year was in a SANDY/ DIRT field.. I bought nachos which were 10$ and they were covered in dirt within 5 minutes of having them and Im a country girl God made dirt,Dirt dont hurt, but that was beyond all hope..So if I had any say in the next Carolina Rebellion I would vote for somewhere that had some seats and less dirt...My husband said he would never attend Carolina Rebellion again Im so gonna miss him at the next one!!

There was no charge for parking, so that's good. I live in Charlotte, so it was a drive for me this year. I noticed the food and drink stands weren't taking credit cards this year, though. Good thing we brought cash! Pretty good food and drinks, though! Again, Halestorm didn't get to play long enough. Good job on providing water this year.

Went to concert at Rockingham Speedway. Very long & hot day! Enjoyed some, but not all of the bands---thought Shinedown and Slash, were the best shows. Would like to recommend, allowing ppl to bring/use lawn chairs or sport chairs-wouldn't be any more space than ppl siiting on ground and would have improved our experience. Over all we had a fun time.

We went to last year's Carolina Rebellion in Charlotte and had a great time. When this year's event was announced for the Rockingham Speedway, I was disappointed it wasn't going to be in town, but willing to sacrifice and make the drive to enjoy a good rock show. This involved cost for travel and hotel that wasn't required last year and was an added expense this year. When we got there, I was anticipating that the event would be in the infield of the speedway facility. Not so, it was in a field ajacent to the speedway and was a lengthy walk just to get to the gates. My thought was that there might be seating for those who chose to sit, but since it wasn't in the speedway, there was none, except in VIP areas. Upon entering, it was immediately obvious this might not be a good time. First of all, the field was sandy and there was dust blowing in the air everywhere. The temperature was high and the air was very dry with dust blowing in your face constantly. Not pleasant. The set up was similar to last year which was also disappointing with how far away the port-a-johns were from the easy access. Once you got to the facilities, they were totally trashed out and the sanitation stations quickly ran out of water without attendance. This is unacceptable. Lastly, the prices of everything were way too high. The ticket price was stiff to begin with, but you felt like you were getting robbed every time you bought water or anything in the concessions. The music itself was good, but due to the discomfort of the venue, it wasn't even enjoyable. unfortunately.

Parking was a NIGHTMARE!!! But eventually we did make it to the show after walking a country mile. Leaving was WORSE!! IT was the purest definition of Chaos I can imagine. We sat for over an hour before we just cut through a field and through some trees to get out onto a side road. The Venue was outside of the Speedway, and this provided for the most optimal dust ever. The area was STOMPED to death during shows and some of the dust clouds were so massive that it obstructed the view of the performers. Everyone I know that was there was completely covered (head to toe) in dirt by the end of the shows. I was cleaning dirt for 3 days... There were many different opportunities to get to meet and or see the bands up close and personal, and they were organized fairly well. The performances were all GREAT and the music was definitely everything you could want to experience and more. Maybe next year it can be for more than just one day....and Maybe they can get Rob Zombie to show up. (That would be the BEST)

The show was great, I saw a bunch of bands I had never seen before, even though the only reason I was there was for Evanescence, but I did also want to see Halestorm. I met Lzzy in Nashville at another Evanescence show=she was just there to watch the show like a fan, but I've never seen them live. It was a long hot, at times miserable day. The worst part were some rude, obnoxious, fans who have no respect for others.

Head playing a song with Korn was awesome. I wish Staind could of played longer. Five Finger Death Punch was unforgettable! Slash threw in some good tunes of course. And Halestorm delivered just the right amount of angst for the day. All in all, it was one of the better concerts I have been to. What would have made it remarkable would to have had some more shade since they wouldn't even let us bring umbrellas in to get away from the scorching sun. Then the medics had the audacity to get irritated when people came up asking for water out of their humongous bathtub full of ice. And the dust was insufferable. Hoping 2013 brings better conditions. :)

Apart from the heat, cost of everything, and parking I had a blast. I was dissapointed that Godsmack didn't close the show, but i'm just biased towards them. Getting into the event was a tad slow. I think the amount of people getting there was overwhelming for the ticket entrance, but after you were in everything was well run and laid out. I loved all of the artists except a couple (Stone Sour just wasn't getting any love...from me or anyone else...recommend playing to satisfy the audience, not the band's wants). The venue was nice, except not being able to bring in chairs meant almost 12 hours straight on my feet. Sitting on the ground was not really an option later in the day when it was covered in trash and people's spit and people were stepping all over you. Also, there should have been several sections of "hose water" to refill from. For such a long event on a sunny day, water is like gold. I loved the whole experience and the crowd was surprisingly well-behaved. The long line to get in was a little ridiculous. Maybe more lines would help? Also, why were we instructed to bring a "sealed" water bottle just to be told to remove the cap on the way in? I used discarded water bottles to prop my heels on when my feet started to scream at about the 10th hour. I have to say that Three Days Grace and Seether stole the show. Skillet was a treat, too.

the bands and set lists were amazing. the way they had the two stages set up side by side made for a very smooth transition from band to band. it was non stop rock! the only complaints that i had were the wait times and the lack of shade. two hours for a hamburger and hotdog? some people i talked to said they waited up to three hours for something to eat. since the show was at the first of may and not the middle of july, the sun wasn't to bad, but there was no where to get out of it, except in the porta john. which was another 40 minute wait. then there was only one entrance. after i walked the two miles to find the end of the line, there were plenty of places along the way that they could of had another entrance here and there. overall i would go again. it was an unforgettable experience. you could hear the music and even see the huge screens from clear across the whole site. even waiting in line for a couple of hours, you didn't miss a whole lot.

I would have paid $60 just to see avenged sevenfold alone, and normally wouldn't have a choice. Add in 15 other amazing bands with a continuous schedule that allowed me to not miss a single show, and for the same price...all day?! This was the best idea event planners have come up with in a LONG TIME!! My favorite bands were skillet with their rocking violin, alter bridge, three days grace and avenged sevenfold. I have heard avenged sevenfold does the same show every time, but for my first time, I was blown away. Flames, and fireworks!! A more perfect set list couldn't have been made. I might have tried to add breaking benjamin and a few other big names, but I was not disappointed. Overall the show was great. Now for the disappointments. Beer...20oz was $9! Ridiculous. Parking....$30. That is absurd! The only road to get to the concert....I-77 and took me 4 hours to get to the concert when I only live 4 miles away. Literally was able to get out of my car, walk to Wendys at the next exit and back and the cars on I-77 hadnt moved. They need to hold this downtown next time so people can use the multiple parking decks, and the LYNX train to get there. Verizon Ampitheater is not a solution as most people get stuck so far away they cant see the band. That was the benefit of the Expo. I was less than 50 feet from the stage the entire day and could clearly see the band.

32,000 people... lots of lines, lots of standing, tons of sun and tons of fun. the show was great, non stop music for 12 hours. the bands the people the workers...all great. wish there would have been some bleachers or some kind of seating available or allowed to bring it in. food was awesome!! prices were not that bad. Skillet is the most amazing "new" band. so impressed with them, they stood out among all the hard core long time rock n rollers.

The bands were great. The lineup was fairly good. They could have alternated lesser known bands between other bands on the same stage. The beer was way to expensive. The food lines was unexceptable.3 hour wait for food is wrong. The grass needed to be cut. With 32,000 people confined in an area trying to see who was on stage without looing at the screens was almost impossible. The screens were great but if you go to a concert you want to be able to see that there are people on the actual stage. I can watch a concert on a screen at home. I mabe saw three trash cans but there was trash everywhere you could not step or stand with out trash being kicked on you. For next year, should be able to bring a small cooler, towel, allowed to go out and come back in, have people walk around picking up trash and selling food as well as beer and water. Then I think that it would the ultimate concert ever.

Carolina Rebellion was awesome. So much great music but it was a test of endurance with 18 bands, no place to sit, lines for food hundreds of people long, portapotties all the way in the back of the venue and people continually bumping into you. But I still had a great time. Bands Were....... Skillet who put on probably the best show of the day and Three days grace, Alter Bridge, Godsmack and Stone Sour Arts of Dying, Seether, Hinder, Theory Of a deadman, My darkest days, Saving Abel, Avenged Sevenfold, Bullet for my valentine, Cavo, Rev Theory, Black Stone Cherry, Pop Evil and Drop D. It was AWESOME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

the carolina rebellion was the most awesome concert i have ever been to! so many good bands all day long. never a moment of silence. I feel bad for those that missed the concert because i can honestly say that it was one of the greatest days of my life. The line up was amazing, including avenged sevenfold, three days grace, godsmack, theory of a deadman, my darkest days, and hinder!!! Being able to see all these bands in one day was worth the money I paid for my tickets, and i cant wait until next year to do it all over again! Maybe they can add papa roach, sick puppies, and shinedown to the mix... amazing show, amazing bands, amazing day!!!!!!!!!!

If you were a Rock junkie, man did you get your fix. This concert was amazing. 18 bands on three outdoor stages. As soon as one band stopped the next one started. I liked Three Days Grace before but I love them now. They put on one of the best shows of the concert. A7X was awesome but had the last slot and got cut short. 8( Godsmack, Saving Abel, Seether, Skillet, and Hinder all had great sets. Rev Theory, Halestorm, Theory of a Deadmann, Stone Sour, CAVO, Art of Dying, Bullet for My Valentine, Alter Bridge, My Darkest Days .Black Stone Cherry, Pop Evil..............Damn! All the bands were awesome. If you missed this one, you should be kicking yourself. Long lines to get in and long lines to get food but was expected so it didn't bother me. Shout out to The Westin Hotel. Great hotel with a great view of the city. A little pricey but you get what you pay for. 8D

The show was amazing. I can't wait until the next Carolina Rebellion. The only issue was that the concessions were a bit outrageous. However, that is to be expected at most outdoor events.

This show was absolutley amazing. I do wish that there could have been less of the smaller bands so bands like Bullet for my Valentine and Avenged Sevenfold could have had more time. But the place was great, food lines were a little too long, and the overall performances from all the bands was amazing. but A7X was defiantly the best.

Overall, the Rebellion organizers put together an incredible lineup for a smash up day of ROCK! There were three stages with a lot of the top artists of today! On the Jager Stage were Drop D, Art of Dying, Pop Evil, Blackstone Cherry, and Rev Theory! Personally, I feel a couple of these groups deserved to be on one of the main stages! That is what I mean- there were 2 Main Stages with Incredible Lineups! :) It was just about constant rock! If a group was not performing on the stage in front of you, just look straight up at one of the 3 big screens! And I personally could just look over and see them on stage! The Rebellion Stage included My Darkest Days, Saving Abel, Hinder, Alterbridge, Theory of a Deadman, Stone Sour, and Godsmack. All of these groups played their most popular songs- MDD - "Pornstar Dancing," SA- "18 Days" & "Addicted," H-"All American Nightmare" & "Get Stoned," A.- "Rise Today" & "Ghosts of Days Gone By," SS- "Digital," "Say You'll Haunt Me," & "Hesitate, and of course Godsmack brought out their big hits as well! Cavo got it started on the Carolina Stage and a highlite was their hit "Champagne!" Halestorm is incredible live as well! Their set included the songs "It's Not You" & "I Get Off." Skillet was fantastic! Near the end of their set was the song "Monster." The rising guitarists are always fun to see, and if you don't know what I'm talking about, then go see their live show! Bullet always puts on an incredible metal show, which gets the crowd in the mood to do some surfing! And of course they played the songs "Waking the Demon" & "Your Betrayal!" Seether rocked it out with their songs "Gasoline," "Country Song," & "Remedy!" Three Days Grace is definitely not to be reckoned with! They played songs like "Pain," "I Hate Everything About You," & "Break." Finally A7X is just phenomenal! This was a can't miss and sold out event! I knew that from the get go- that is why I got my presale tix! I want to keep some things about this event locked up and left to the imagination! This has got to become a yearly event!

As a first year event, I feel that they should have sold fewer tickets, so as to better suit the venue that they had chosen. A smaller crowd would have been more easily accommodated by the services available (concessions, port-o-potties, water filling station, merchandise booths, etc.). Traffic control needs to be better implemented if there is a future event of this size held at this venue. We did not use our tickets at all, but simply sat in the field outside of the fence near the two main stages, so as not to miss any of the bands that performed in the time it would have taken to stay in line. I am thankful that we were able to stay with family, and did not have to waste any more money on this event. Overall, the bands were fantastic, and I would love to attend a similar event in the future, but will be hesitant if it is at this venue. If it is held at this venue, I would rather purchase a "tailgating package" and enjoy the show from the field like we did this weekend instead of fighting the crowd in the small venue.

First off the bands that performed were top of their game. The line-up simply couldn't be beat. All the bands that I did get to see/hear were awesome. Most of them I had seen in the past. Extremely impressed by Skillet and Bullet for my Valentine. Saving Abel was great w/ my fave being 18 days. Hinder did an awesome job and then my favorite of the day Alter Bridge. As ususal their music is as tight as can be and Myles couldn't have sounded any better. Of course they did my favorite live tune, BlackBird, the highlight of the day for me. Just wish they could have played longer. Was also very impressed by Theory, had never seen them before, would have like to have heard Meant to Be. Seether, one of my favorite bands did not let me down. Did Nirvana's Heart Shaped Box to perfection. Stone Sour, I had not seen before either and must say Cory is as good with them as with Slipknot. 3DG was as good as I've seen them and did my fave, Home with an 'insert' of 8 Miles. Been several years since I've seen Godsmack and will have to say they are better than ever. Loved the set list. Did not stay for Avenged Sevenfold as needed to beat the crowd out. I noted many left as we did. The way they had the two stages set up to where there was virtually no down time was excellent. There was no lag time and no band playing during another like some festivals I have attended. I did really like that. Now to the crap. First off gates should have been opened at 8:00am. Venue oversold, not enough entrances, food and drink extremely overprised, no where to sit except the ground, lines too long for virtually everything, the list does go on, but you get my drift. We literally walked for two hours straight, in line to get in to the gate. We got there at precisely 11:30 knowing we would miss the first band but figuring we'd make Cavo. We walked though the 'cattle stall' gates at 1:30 and went straight to the main stage, already tired and thirsty but not wanting to miss any more bands than we already had. At about 3:15 we got in a food line and I noted that there were still people lined up outside the fence trying to get in and I knew from experience hours earlier that they were still at least 30 minutes from the gate. Two hours of walking to get into a venue is completely unacceptable. I gave the rating of 5 stars but that is because I didn't want to the bands to take the hit of my unacceptable score. The bands and stage set up I give a 5, the promoters and venue I give a 1, yeah a 1 at best. There was one tent that we found that sold concert shirts and the lines were 50 deep all day. Same with the food and toilet lines. I've been to many, many festival events and this was by far the most poorly planned I've seen. Yeah, I'm sure there was tons of money made for someone, but at our expense.

It could have been better. The bands (what I saw) kicked ass. I missed out on A7X due to feeling sick and getting pissed from being pushed out of a spot I had for 5 hours. Unless the next one doesn't sell so many tickets to something that could only hold 1/2 of them, I will not go back.

The whole concert rocked, but there was some BIG problems with long food lines and parking. This place is really not a great place for a rock concert, it should have been in a BIGGER venue (aka a stadium), Overall I gave the concert ***** stars the other stuff was terrible. Another thing I couldn't understand why was Rev Theory and Pop Evil on the little Jagermeister stage way in the back when they should have been on the main stage up front??????.

Overall the show was freaking awesome and besides my feet killing me for standing up over 10 hours seeing A7X and the other great bands was worth it. There were moments when I thought to myself why were these bands here playing but that was like only three or four bands out of the fourteen that were there I did get to see two bands I never heard of and the absolutely blew my mind like Halestorm I think I feel in love with the lead singer man can she sing.

Show was Amazing, traffic was a nightmare!!!!! Spent almost 3 hrs. in bumper to bumper traffic, the interstate was like a huge parking lot and we were only 3 exits away :( . The shuttle buses were very nice and the fact that we got to by-pass all the cars on the way there was a plus but we missed the first 4 bands that played due to traffic. The food lines were a nightmare....Despite the bad things this was a kick ass concert and hopefully they will continue to have it every year, cause i will be there! Would love it if they could have this at Verizon wireless amphitheater so that we could actually purchase seats!

A beautiful day in the south for its first mega rock concert. The dual stages with the 3 large screens were an awesome setup. One suggestion, leave more room between the stages, light/sound towers & handicap seating - everyone ended up funneling in between all these. Sound and lighting were great, time per band was just about right. Logistically, there were enough portapotties but not enough food vendors (if you waited for food, you likely missed at least 3 bands). Also, how can you run out of concert shirts!? One more downer - the gates opened only 30 minutes before the first band went on. This produced a 2 mile line up. As such, we didn't get in until 90 minutes after it started and that was with a bribe to cut in line! All-in-all though a great show. I hope they do this every year and I am sure they will work the kicks out. Rock on, Charlotte!

This concert was absolutely amazing! The venue was great. The layout was good (the only thing I would have liked a bit better was the monster stage separated a bit). The food, drink, and souvenir vendors were good. The free bottled water, water system, and cooling fan was very helpful and greatly needed. All that said, the music was PHENOMENAL!!! I am ready for the next one :)
