I thought it was very entertaining. A very fun evening. The only problem was - it was hard to hear the main actress, the E.B. Janet character. She spoke quickly - which made it even harder to get everything she was saying. Thank goodness there were lots of physical comedy & hand gestures to the show - so you pretty much always knew what was going on - just not what exactly was being said. The others with me that evening were even more upset about this than I was. I did really have to concentrate closely to hear her though. It was definitely a test in listening skills. Perhaps it was just our seat location - but we were not all that far from the stage...row J R Orchestra seats. Though I don't think we had any problems hearing the other 2 actors playing Tasha & Hugh.

"Spank" is both funny and witty, told from the unique perspective of the author who wrote "Fifty Shades of Grey". The play is more of a character analysis of the author. All three actors were wonderful.

My wife and I attended the Saturday night performance of Spank at the Royal George Theater. The crowd was 90 % women as you might expect and they were "ready for action" when they arrived. There was a buzz throughout the theater in anticipation of the start of the show. The show was quick moving and very entertaining. The entire play including intermission was 2 1/2 hours. If you read the book, it was easier to follow the story line, but it was still very enjoyable without reading the book.

Not worth the money to see this poorly done musical. Just a couple of slightly funny parts, and overall a bore. No set at all, and only 3 performers makes this parody lack any real value. Unless you are a drunken "Housewife of Beverly Hills" look alike, you will not enjoy this at all. Save your money and time for something worthwhile.

Play was really good. They were all really funny and it was cute how they got the crowd involved. However, the play could've used a couple more people to play main characters like Kate or Jose. Especially the family scene, I didn't understand the impression of Mr. and Mrs. Grey.

All the actors were amazing! I wasn't sure what to expect, but I was pleasantly surprised how they presented the book. The ticket collector at The Royal George Theater was very rude when we walked in. He yelled at us for not giving him one of our tickets (there were 6 of us). We arrived right at 5PM when the show was starting, and NO ONE helped us find our seats...people were actually in our seats and we had to ask them to move...it didn't start off well, but I wasn't going to let it ruin our fun!

I haven't laughed like that in a long time. The lines, the actions & music all made this an enjoyable "Adult/Ladies" night out for us. It was nice to see "some" men in the audience too. The picture time afterwards was hysterical with the cast....I think Hugh was really enjoying himself.

We took our friend for her 50th birthday and it was an unforgettable evening. Even though there are only three members in the cast- the show is downright hilarious! The parody of 50 Shades could not have been better. The musical numbers will have you looking at some well known favorites in a totally different light! You'll also view some daily hygiene tools in a way you may have never thought of before! The actors are great- the perfect combination of sincerity and flamboyance! It was definitely a laugh till you cry production. As a special bonus, the cast was out in the lobby after the show. They allowed us to take some unforgettable photos with them that we will all cherish and chuckle about for years to come. Thanks so much for a wonderful evening of entertainment! Later's Baby!

Took about 20 of my girlfriends to see this in Detroit mistakenly thinking it was the same cast. It wasn't. The show was very different and had lost most of the things we loved about it - alot of the improv was gone and some of the stuff about Detroit. The narrator was ok but no where near as funny or as good as the one we saw two years ago (the one we saw was a brunette). Sad I recommended it to so many people. Left at intermission.

Hilarious! I highly recommend this comedy to anyone with a sense of humor. I was one of only a handful of men that attended this play and I was glad I did. I think I laughed harder than my wife. I was rolling on the floor the entire time. I did not think they could keep the laughs going through the entire second half but sure enough they did. Guys, do not be afraid to attend this with your significant other. I guarantee you will have a good time and being surrounded by lovely ladies all night isn't bad either.

To start, I will note that I have not read any of the books and am a 26 year old male which may invalidate my review to many, but I couldn't help but list my opinion of this wreck. I usually enjoy all kinds of performances including amateur theater when I was in college, but the ridiculously lame and hackneyed jokes killed me and my date (who has read the trilogy). It was just dumb, unoriginal joke after another. I am all for cheap, sexually explicit material and jokes, but this was the equivalent of someone saying "that's what she said" at a bar for 2 hours. I have never walked out of a movie, play, musical, or any other event until last night. We hoped it would get better after intermission, but it didn't so we left a few minutes after that. I don't blame the actors because they seemed young and at least tired to make the terrible writing seem funny, but they couldn't overcome the script's poor quality. While there were some 40+ year old couples that were dying laughing, I still cannot recommend anyone wasting their time or money on this parody.

Never read the books and didn't need to. My date had and she was the reason I bought the tickets. I found a few doe eyed guys like me standing around with their wives or dates. Once it started it was a blast. All three actors were up to the task, interacted well with the audience and made it a memorable albeit "risqué" show.

It took only three actors on stage to tell this parody. The narrator did a good job to keep you abreast of what was or did happen. The suggestive moves were done well as you knew just what was happening. They all had good voices and stage presence. It was an enjoyable evening out for this old gal.

if you have a sense of humor and can laugh at raunchy stuff and go with a group of women that do too then this is a perfect girls night out. Leave the men at home, they will not enjoy this. Don't spend more than $30 a ticket. I would say targets ages 21-45 as they're were a group of older ladies (55+) that were not getting the jokes and such.

I didn't know much about it going into the theater and I was a little shocked there were only three actors and basically no sets beyond props and lighting (the props were hilarious). It was more like a stand-up comedy routine with a plot then a play. The performances were great, there were a few stumbled lines, but there were a lot of really great moments. I won't give any spoilers but they really hit on all the reasons why we love to hate those books.

This show was hysterical , I laughed the whole time . The actors are so talented and witty And really played with the audience. I felt like some of it was improv which I absolutely loved. The humor is very dirty so if you don't like dirty and crude sex humor you probably won't enjoy this . I absolutely loved it . Only tip is I probably wouldn't bring my boyfriend/husband/fiancé here because he would probably not enjoy it as much. Great for a girls night out!!

My daughter and I had a fun time at the show. We laughed a lot!! I was surprised there were only three characters the whole show, but all three were very entertaining. I especially enjoyed David Raposo's performance as Hugh Hanson. The only suggestion I would have that sometimes the actors spoke so fast it was difficult to pick up on everything they were saying at times; I'm sure I missed some of the funny one-liners because of that. Also it would have been fun to see a transformation of Tasha Wood from the naive, plain persona to a more dressed up sexy role by the end. I would have liked a few more change of outfits for Tasha, but all in all, very entertaining....thank you!!

The actors spoke too fast to understand what they were saying. The narrator's actions were repeated to the point of not being funny anymore. Was hoping for more humor. Only complaint is venue related: Posted signs say no drinks in theatre so we pounded our drinks but people were drinking in their seats. Either enforce the signs or take them down cause it's confusing.

This show was a laugh out loud until your cheeks hurt! A few cheesy moments but definitely worth seeing - if your a gal, 98% women attended but them few men in the audience didn't seem happy to be there.

I was worried, being one of only a handful of men in attendance, that this play would not be something I would enjoy. ...and then I heard there were to be only 3 actors... My mindset coming in was I would not enjoy it. I could not have been more wrong. All three actors had very strong performances and worked very well together. I did not stop laughing during the entire performance. And I was completely bummed when it was over. I could have watched that play for two more hours! Bravo! Very well done!!!

very well done-excellent job of condensing 3 books into a play and encompassing all the "highlights"!

So funny, a great spin of the actual book. If you had not read the book you could have easily missed a lot.

Great show with unforgettable moments. Audience interacion led to many laughs. Unfortunately the male role didn't have his shirt off as much as I had hoped.

The story line was hysterical! Great night out with the girls if you enjoyed the 50 Shades Trilogy. The actors/actresses were amazing as well...involved the audience as well.

The show sound was not up to normal standards. I could only hear about half of the dialogue. The two women in the show talked too fast at times and you couldn't understand what they were saying. A lot of people near the stage were laughing so they must have heard them. I was only on the 15th row and should have been able to hear them. There was little expense in the production basically the writer and the young girl and the guy with no sets or stage production. It was like going to a comedy show and listening to three people interact with each other. The girl I was with was okay with it and we both gave it a C. The audience was about 90% female which was to be expected I guess. 50 Shades the book seems to be a requirement for most women today and the show was a take off on the book.
