Mike and the Mechanics are most well known for a couple of hits in the 80s, but they released several great songs over the years and at this concert they mostly hit all the highlights. Some of the instruments sound a little different, but overall the sound is still there and Roachford and Howar both are great vocalists who are excellent and very animated on stage. Howar spent the entire concert jumping around stage and being very entertaining to watch and still laying out some excellent vocals. While the late Paul Young had a fantastic voice, Howar does a great job emulating his sound for a few of the songs and has a great sound of his own. The drummer Gary Wallis is also fantastically skilled, he played excellently. Luke Juby is multitalented and was also a joy to listen to. Of course Mike Rutherford is excellent as always. Great talent all around. If I wanted to get a bit nitpicky, Roachford did kind of mess up a bit on one of his solos on keyboard but personally I love to see this kind of stuff so you know they're actual people and not just machines that play the same songs city to city. Highly recommended, if you have the chance to see these guys perform do not miss it. As a huge Genesis fan and a decent fan of Mike and the Mechanics I had a blast and enjoyed this concert more than I thought I would. Class act!

I don't when the last time was that Mike and the Mechanics played in South Florida but it's been a very long time. You could easily call this a triumphant return for numerous reasons...most notably the addition of Tim and Andrew on vocals. For me, the thing that made Mike and the Mechanics better than all the one or two hit wonders was the outstanding vocals of Paul Carrack and Paul Young. I was quite skeptical that Mike Rutherford could recapture that sound again but even without the great Paul Carrack it was well worth the ticket price.

Some bands sound good on disc or recordings. The real test is how good a band sounds live! These guys sound great live. For a band with not too much notoriety, or no major recent hit tunes, they would have to be a killer live band, and these guys don t disappoint. Great nights entertainment.

Some of the older bands give great shows. This is one of those. From the opening song it was 100% effort to the last note. The playing was faultless and the singers were great. You would not know that Paul Carrick was not there.

Always loved the music of Mike and the Mechanics and new singers Andrew Roachford and Tim Howar (a little dynamo) have great vocals. Loved seeing them at Parker Playhouse- great venue! Just wish the show was a little longer!

I have waited years to see Mike and the Mechanics and I was not disappointed. This was perhaps one of the best musical acts I have seen in YEARS. If you get the opperotunity to attend their show you may have a smile on your face for the entire show.

This was one of the best concerts I have ever attended due to the phenomenal skills of the musicians. I really enjoyed this band as a teenager but I think I was too young to appreciate the depth of Mike Rutherford's talent. The performance of "The Living Years" was unforgettable, now having the maturity to grasp the depth of the lyrics. The 2 new lead singers were fantastic and so energetic. I apreciated watching musicians who truly love what they do, not just seeking money and attention. Truly a classy show and I would be happy to travel to see them again. And I was thrilled to hear the infectious "All I Need is a Miracle" live for the first time.

The concert was anticipated with vigor being long time Genesis fan. Mike and the Mechanics were a group of song writers and performers who played especially ballads with heart-felt lyrics. There wasn't any show casing of specific talent on any one instrument. I know Mike would admit that an expert at lead guitar he is not...he is however a formidable bass player but especially a song writer. The opening song was "Beggar on a Beach of Gold" which I LOVE. I heard it for the first time at the concert and have played it numerous times since. Both hauer and rocheman are exceptional singers. There is a large repertoire of songs to listen to, that I was not aware of until this concert, I loved it would gladly go see them again.

Fantastic show! It was great to hear the old Genesis tunes too. The musicians are all so talented. Mike Rutherford is amazing. It was a once in a lifetime opportunity getting to see and hear him perform in such an intimate setting. The vocals of Anthony and Tim are incredible. Their voices blend so well together. Tim is an excellent front man too.

I will be honest that I got these tickets on a whim. I'd heard a few of their songs so thought I'd take a friend from out of town. I am so glad I did! The "new" mechanics (Mike Rutherford is the original) put on a great show for people of all ages as the new members keep it from being a total trip down nostalgia lane. Two really talented vocalists and all very accomplished musicians. Lively (far more than you might at first imagine), energetic show that will leave you happy you came and I highly recommend an intimate setting like the Park West to fully appreciate the show.

What a great show!! I saw them at the Taft Theater in Cincinnati and there is not a bad seat in the house. I love their music but when I learned that neither of the original singers were going to be there I was disappointed. Boy was I wrong! They did not miss a beat. The new vocalists are very good and energetic. There were several of their songs I forgot I knew.

The show was great but was disappointing at the low turn out. All of the hits were played. My only comment again was it would've been nice if the crowd was more motivated. I felt like we were at a symphany with polite crowd clapping at the end of each song. When they started to play "Living Years" I got out of my seat and walked up to the stage turned around and told the crowd to get up. They all did! The band thanked me afterwards. All in all it was seeing Mike again.

The crowd albeit small was very appreciative. Clearly fans of the Mechaincs catalogue. Any time the a band performs without the original lead singer it changes the dynamics of the show. But the combo of lead vocals in this case worked very well both very powerfull and full of energy. I was worried the small crowd would have affected the performance but that was not the case. I went to the show because I am a long time Genesis fan and wanted to see Mike Rutheford. It was great seeing Daryl Strummer as the opening act. He is very good and you can tell that he learned a lot by playing with Genesis and filling in for Steve Hackett. The sustain he uses is unmistakeable and heavily influeced by Hackett. I enjoyed the show very much.
