Luscious Jackson

Luscious Jackson

'90s alt-rock postergirls Luscious Jackson combined equal parts edge and polish to create some of the most subversively original indie pop of the decade.  After a ten-year hiatus, the band reunited in 2011, proving they hadn't lost any of their immediacy or technique with 2013's fan-funded and critically acclaimed Magic Hour — their first album of new material since 1999's Electric Honey. Featuring their '90s hits, cuts from the new album, and a healthy dose of riot grrrl sensibility, the band's much-awaited 2013 reunion shows have anticipation for their 2014 tour dates at fever pitch.BACKGROUND SNAPSHOT:Formed in Manhattan .

Venue is great and intimate. Luscious Jackson was my favorite band in the 90's. One of the original members was in the audience the night we went and got up and did a couple songs with them. It was a great show. So happy they have a new CD out. I loved every song. Only disappointment was they didn't do "strongman" song.

Good to see LJ back on stage. They played all fan favorites and invited the crowd up on stage regularly. Vivian showed up for a few songs which was a cool surprise. I hope they tour again, maybe put out some new music too :)

Not having discovered Luscious Jackson until a few years ago, I never got a chance to see the group in the 1990s and was very pleased to see that they were playing Boston. The band played a great mix of songs from all of their album and they sounded great. Vivian Trimble (keyboard player) who left the group in the late 90s joined the stage for a few songs and it was great to see the original band together again. It was a really great show and a fun night.

I saw Luscious Jackson in 1994 and now 20 years later, and could see more maturity to their music and performance all these years later. They were awesome back then and they're awesome now, and they put on a terrific show. Loved every minute of seeing them--so glad they're back! Also really liked their two new band members--kudos to them as well.

Luscious Jackson put on a fun show and the audience was really great. But it was a short set, and well, Webster Hall just sucks.

Hometown band plays in front of hometown crowd. A massive sing-along party at The Ritz! (er, Webster Hall). They sounded as if they never left the scene, and they looked great, too! Probably better than most of you have aged (except me, I look great, too, of course), except for drummer Kate -- it looks like she hasn't lost any of her baby weight, but she was hidden by the drums, who cares if she looked like a mom on her day off? The sound was fantastic high fidelity groove me baby, groove me tight and nervous. See you next time if there is ever a next time.

I didn't know what to expect when I bought tickets for the long overdue reunion of Luscious Jackson at Webster Hall. They were charming and their talent shone. Jill's voice was crisp and beautiful. They were funny and welcomed fans onto the stage to dance with them. They had a DJ play through as they changed instruments and prepared for the next song which I thought was a great idea. They admitted they were a bit rusty but none of us would have noticed. I really had a great time.
