This was my first time at the Culture Room in Fort Lauderdale and it will be my first of many! Citizen Cope gave a terrific performance \u2014 he is a one of a kind artist with a cool vibe and a great band. Combined with the intimacy of the Culture Room, it was a wonderful night.

It was my 3rd time seeing Cope and I expected nothing more than greatness as usual. His control of the crowd never gets old and he always seems to keep great (and beautiful) company in Alice smith who addition was unexpected by me. She adds so much to the show from opening set to joining cope on stage. Cope played everything you wanted to hear but yet some how he still made you not want it to end. Highly recomend this show to anyone and everyone. Awesome date show or just with friends. Actually met a bunch of great people as well. The only reason it was 4 and not 5 star is cuz of the venue. The bars next to the floor cause for a lot of talking around you while you try and listen. That's just my issue with HOB and corporate venues. Very profit driven. In conclusion: go! Buy the tickets and take yer mom if no one else will go. It's THAT GOOD. Heck. Yer mom would like to spend the time with you. Hahaha... Enjoy. Ps... Listen closely for the radiohead cover. Yeah that's right! Amazing.

I was so impressed with Clarence Greenwood, both his voice and the band were SO MUCH BETTER THAN THE CDS! It was an amazing show, and I was also impressed with Alice Smith's voice! We ended up buying her CD because one of her songs sent chills down our spines! We also pre-ordered Citizen Cope's new CD and got to meet Clarence and get autographs and take pictures with him! What a genuine guy! I am so impressed, and the staff at the venue was so helpful and nice. Amazing night!!

The show was very cool. Good sound, good energy. Especially when he came out by himself and played 3 or 4 songs solo with his acoustic guitar. He was better then I thought he would be.

The show started off great but the set list needed help as he continued through the night. The flow was just very off and some parts were way too slow and acoustic. Don't get me wrong Citizen Cope has a fantastic sound and repertoire, but he could have fine tuned the order of songs. His encore was weak and lacked energy until Sideways. Overall, he was a professional and you could feel his passion. I enjoyed seeing him live finally, but have to admit I was slightly disappointed.

Citizen Cope gave a fantastic performance. Some of the audience was irksome--yelling and detracting from the show. I'd see him in a less rowdy venue again in a second.

COPE'S band were tight and had great stage presence. Cope himself was his soulful self, exuding sensuality and creativity. A wonderful break to see true talent in a world of fake "acts" and not true artist like C.COPE. Stage lighting was great, venue was awsome.

It was so much more than I was expecting. I was thrilled to see this show... the music and performance was amazing... to look down on the swaying crowd was affirming... We were all digging the experience. He was so great to watch with his band. There were several moments that I thought to myself... that at this very moment I couldn't imagine being any happier.

This was the 4th time that I have seen Mr. Greenwood. Each show he just keeps getting better. The past two have included Alice Smith who is truly phenomenal. Although I was in the under 21 area at Croc since I came with friends of different ages, the experience was good. I wasn't extremely familiar with the artist, but still had a great time beer or no beer :) The music was very chill and the vibe quite relaxed. The artist's talent overshadowed any issues with the venue (small space, hot). Definitely worth it.

Ok, so my initial feeling of the place (Crocodile Rock in Allentown) was not so good, there definitely could have been a better venue to play at. It was a weird setup. That aside, I was dead center and about 3 people from the stage. Cope, as always, put on an amazing show. His opening act.. Elevator Fight? (Lenny Kravitzs' daughter's band) was egh - they sounded just like a wannabe No Doubt and fit the profile of all male members and a female lead vocal. Overall, pretty good venue, damn good show. Highly recommended

I knew very little of Cope's catalog before I went to the show at Ram's Head Live (Sideways, Picasso, Hurricane Waters), but he put on a great show. His vocals were great and his band was tight. Being a native of the area, the crowd was very engaged and seemed to know every lyric to ever song. Further, the venue was awesome. I was on the ground level, but managed to find my way up to the 2nd and 3rd floors by the end of the concert (my girlfriend is short). Every level offered a decent amount of room and a great view.

I've followed Cope for years, and I've seen 3 shows so far this year. Whether you like blues, rock, raggae, funk, or rap. Cope has it all. He is the most humble, loving musician. He has reasons to be proud of his work. He is so thankful for his fans. Constantly encouraging his fans to sing, feel it, and clap our hands. He is the hard working man you know, bringing his best at all times. I've met lots of musicians, Clarence is just Clarence, doing and loving music. He was just blessed with a voice to carry your soul to another place. If you can't feel Cope, you can't feel. Much love and respect to CITIZEN COPE!

Citizen Cope is not a rocker, but what he lacks in energy he makes up for with a mesmerizing and soulful voice. No opening act. Cope just comes out and dives into a 2 1/2 hour set in which he plays every song a fan could possibly want to hear. I think it is safe to say that no fan left disappointed. After the show, he walked back to the merchandise booth and signed autographs for his fans. Though he is very quiet and soft spoken, he couldn't have been friendlier. He didn't say much, mostly just replied with a shy, eyes down smile. The Varsity Theater is a great venue for this type of show. it is a very intimate and relaxed atmosphere.

Got to the show early & was allowed to bring my camera. We were right up front all night & had a great time. The venue wasn't overcrowded & was very comfortable. Cope was late coming out, which is usual, but they always make up for it with a simple, but great show. They don't waste their time with elaborate stage shows, they let the music speak for itself. My 11 yr old daughter was right in front & Clarence came over & shook her hand, which made the night even more special. I don't think she's washed that hand yet! If you are not a Cope fan, just go to one of thier shows & you will be by the time you leave!

Really enjoyed the venue. Jannus Landing was such a cool place to watch such a great band. I loved the big trees, the f aux buildings with the balconies that people could hang out on, that you could drink beer or real cocktails. The entire experience was a total "thumbs up" and I would highly recommend it to my friends and gladly attend other events there.

Cope as usual displayed an obvious passionate performance. From the smiles to the crowd, to his constant gratitude, COPE is a definite must see. He seems to look directly at the audience which gives a very personal performance. He gets into his songs, and lights the room up with his slow tempos. From Off the Ground, with a reggae beat behind it, to the classic "sideways" Cope rocked it. Seeing him again on Friday in washington. Bring it on Cope.

I loved that concert.. they performed like 20 songs... it felt like it was going all night when really they were just killing every second of the concert.. Sandrine opened..I hadn't really heard too much about her but I am glad she was there, her voice is too unique. Clarence Greenwood is amaaaaazing.. u can c him feeling every word and beat of the song as if he's remembering the moment that the song was introduced.. the band is sick!!!! I loved that extended play on Pablo Picasso. Not a second was off key.. they were so in-sync with each other it was unbelievable. Clarence started out with his acoustic guitar.. then transitioned to his electric.. it was amazing. I was right at the front of the stage but u could c people all of the way in the very back still in the zone bcuz their music is just so powerful. Me and everyone else in the Wiltern were dancing thru the entire concert.. I seen employees rocking out.. it was crazy. Everyone there was awesome.. everyone was just nodding along with each other. Most definitely planning on seeing them again! =]

I have been listening to Citizen Cope since I was a Junior in High School, so about 6 years now. I always end up throwing at least one of his songs into every mixed cd of mine. Finally I was able to see him live in concert at the amazing Varsity Theater in Minneapolis. The atmosphere was perfect for the concert. With only 650 max for people it was one of the smallest venues for his tour, which I thought was an advantage for us fans. He rolled out with his more famous songs to get the crowd going...like "Let the Drummer Kick" & "Bullet and a Target." During the concert he altered the songs with repetition of words and beats to make them sound even more unique. When we cheered for him to come out for an encore he did. He not only did it, but he must have doubled the length of the concert after coming out. He started off with some of his solo acoustic like "Salvation" then the rest of the band came out and they reeled off a bunch more songs. I'm almost 23, but I can say this was my favorite concert of all time!

As usual, Cope got the entire crowd signing his songs from the moment he started playing his intro acoustic set with Salvation. Clarence always whips up the crowd with a foot tapping head bobbing beat, a beat that was helped along by The Vic's awesome sound system. The Rainwater LP tracks were played masterfully with the crowd welcoming the new material. Healing Hands, which is a slow cooker on the album, rocked wonderfully. I Couldn't Explain is an instant classic. The only issue the entire night was that Cope had more mumbling than usual. Not a big problem for singers, except that since everyone is singing along, we get lost. Fifth time I have seen the band live, There will be a 6th, 7th, 8th...

Citizen Cope rocks the house! The Ballroom's sound was perfect for the band , but I'm glad I got to sit down in the upstairs balcony :). Clarence Greenwood is an amazing performer and played for about 2 hours. Alice Smith opened and sang with him on Back Together and belted out the solo on 107 degrees. I love the intimate venues in which they choose to play. I wonder if Clarence keeps the low profile intentionally or if they are just the most under-the radar successes in the business today!

This show was AMAZING! This band never disappoints. We have seen him 3 times over the last year and a half and each show is different....all amazing! Alice Smith is great as well with a set of pipes that gives you goosebumps. Love it when they sing 107degrees together...seen it at 2 different shows and loved it. Clarence Greenwater seems to be just a genuinely nice and normal guy. He came and sat in the crowd for the last half of Alice's show before he took the stage. Great show last night at the HOB on Sunset. Cope meandered through old and new songs in his nearly 2 hour set. His new stuff is really cool -- upbeat, groovy, very solid. He finished with 4 solo acoustic songs, followed by the full band. His last song was a reggae version of Creep by Radiohead.

Citizen Cope has a unique style, that's for sure. This isn't pop music. He had a killer band with him, most of the songs rattled the whole place with deep bass and thumping drums, along with Citizen Cope almost mumbling his lyrics. In fact, at first I thought they'd screwed up the acoustics, seemed like he was not miked properly, but it's just his singing style. Or maybe he warmed up, because as the show progressed it seemed you could hear him better. He did do an acoustic set of about 4 or 5 songs, the rest was with the band, which as I said was really hot. He did do all the required hits, Sideways being the last song. But Let the Drummer Kick, All Dressed Up and Healing Hands were great, and one of my favs Son's Gonna Rise. A few times he asked "is everyone having a good time?" Yes indeed! He just got better and better, leaving us all happy. Oh and BTW the Fox Theater art deco restoration is amazing!

I love Citizen Cope, and the Wiltern is beautiful. But, I'm finding I don't like his newer stuff, especially live. Also, whatever they were doing with the sound, nobody could understand the lyrics.

This venue is great for seeing shows like this. You can view the stage from a lot of different angles and can enjoy so many points of view. I was able to be front and center, right where I want to be, soaking in Citizen Cope's amazing talent! Clarence Greenwood is truly a great artist and has a special stage presence. It felt like you were watching your favorite local band. It was chill, relaxed yet absolutely unforgettable for a true Citizen Cope fan.

I have been to many, many Cope concerts and this one was truly one of the best. He played longer at this concert than he ever has before. It was an acoustic set and for a little while people in the audience we talking and carrying on conversations and it was a little irritating. Cope in the nicest possible way said on stage that "It is all right to ask people sitting around you not to talk since you paid money to hear the concert." After a little while he started playing music again and everyone kept going sssshhhhhhh very loud. Cope being the great person he is stated "All the people who were talking before are now mad because they can't talk so now they are shushing everyone." It was hilarious and it was the best way to get people to stop talking. He had a great mix of his older music and his new songs off of The Rainwater LP. A lot of artist are irritating since they won't play their older music but not Cope he had a perfect mix of both. If you have never seen him play before you are cheating yourself out of seeing a great concert with a wonderful artist.

Citizen cope is an amazing artist! Despite the loud/rude/talkative people he managed to put on a great show. I'm not sure if Culture Room is the best place for an acoustic show.

As always, Citizen Cope is AMAZING live! I was so excited to be able to see him again. I have never been to Culture Room before and didn't really know what to expect. When we first walked in, the atmosphere seemed great- a small venue with no bad view in the house. We lucked out and got to be right on the railing, probably like 25 feet away. That being said, we were so close and could barely hear him!! It was a solo acoustic show, but it seems like everyone there was expecting a rowdy rock concert. It was so disrespectful and embarrassing how everyone was acting. Being the mellow, laid-back performer he was, he only once commented "You know, people paid money to actually hear these songs". We probably could have heard way more songs, if he didn't have to play the opening chords for 3+ minutes while he waited for people to quiet down...

We loooove citizen cope and were so excited to see him! the venue was great, he sounded amazing live, and played a good variety of songs...the ONLY thing that I wasn't 100% pleased with was that it seemed like citizen was either drunk or high the whole time...he just played his songs, didn't really connect with us, but was extremely appreciative when we cheered and clapped :]

This was my second time seeing Citizen Cope live, they are just as amazing the second time around! Pablo really connects with the audience and gets the crowd into it. Their music is soulful and that is because you can tell the band is tight--you see their happiness when they play. I felt the love!

This was my third time going to see Citizen Cope perform, and I would go 100 more times. He did a great performance, sang every song and his new songs were awesome. He interacted with the crowd, you could tell he was happy to be there. Overall wonderful concert, not so sure about Chocolate Genius, it was interesting but Citizen was all I needed to see. Highly recommend checking this band out, the music is inspiring, sounds amazing, simply love it!

Awesome show, AGAIN! Cope started off a little slow as if he was feeling under the weather but after a song or two he was feeling it like always! Great ability to get the crowd into every song. This is my second Cope show of the year and I gotta say, he did not disappoint . I would recommend to anyone who enjoys a good show with good vibes to see Citizen Cope.

I've seen Citizen Cope play a few times before this show, but this was by far the best! He played all of his greats, and then some. Bergen PAC was a perfect venue for this intimate solo show. A very memorable experience.

Cope just played, barely any talking or interaction with audience. This was fine by me! He is amazing! Lots of soul and emotion behind all his music! However, the crazy New Jersey fans were being so inappropriate for an acoustic performance! They were screaming, telling him what to play, yelling nonstop even while he sipped water. At one point,he even made a joke about how he was being harassed. Bottom line: Cope was great...fans, not so much.

Cope is a storyteller and he had a huge stage presence. One man and his guitar alone on stage, almost 3 hours of concert minus the intermission and a short time backstage before the encore. There was no pretence in this concert, Cope did not hide behind effects, fancy lighting but shared an evening of music with us. What you don't realize enough when you listen to his albums is how raw and powerful his voice is. There was no fluff just a beautiful voice, amazing guitar skills and a lot of stories to tell. He almost didn't skip a beat between songs until the audience started joking with him (vocal new NJ jersey lot). I really wish he will record and release one of these acoustic sessions.

barely comes close to describing the perseverative cacophony proffered by Clarence and company. Their morose combination of monotone melody and redundant lyric could only be described as little more than musical (I use that term loosly) quaalude. "Hey, let's come up with a catchy phrase and drone it over and over again to the same few notes!" Their nearly one hour warm up to Counting Crows was too long by 40-50 minutes. For those heading to the Crows' Somewhere Under Wonderland tour, I highly recommend skipping this opening act. Citizen Cope can only be described as...well...copeless.

Clarence has a beautiful voice -- and his music and lyrics bleed so much heart and soul. He had a very reserved and quiet stage presence, which I read in many past reviews, so I expected this. He didn't walk on stage and introduce himself, and he seldom spoke between songs. But while he was quiet he was still commanding. The entire performance was wonderful, and the encore stole the show. By the end of his performance he was smiling and kept thanking the audience. I will say, that while he was lovely, the audience was absolutely horrible. The amount of talking that occurred throughout the entire set was so disrespectful and rude I was shocked. I felt like I was in a high school cafeteria. Do people not realize that performers on stage can hear you? They, too, can hear that echo of voices. I will probably never go back to The Paramount again, because this experience left such a bad taste in my mouth.
